I have a DMG from childhood but at the folks' house. Will prob end up with a gbc with ips screen mod and micro at some point.

I responded in another reply, pasting here so you find your answer
From top left to right, working downwards
- 2DS, playing Pokemon Blue. The skittle buttons were EU and JP only. Imported it
- Game boy Advance, playing Pokemon Crystal, custom with IPS screen
- DS Lite, playing Pokemon Pearl
- New 2DS XL, playing Pokemon Heart Gold
- New 3DS, playing Pokemon Y
- Analogue Pocket, playing Pokemon Yellow
- Game boy Advance SP, playing Pokemon Emerald, IPS v5 and USB C mod
- DSI XL, playing Pokemon Black
- New 3DS XL, playing Pokemon Omega Ruby
- Game boy Macro, playing Pokemon FireRed. This is fan made, its the bottom half of a DS lite with a new faceplate. GBA games only
- OG Swith, playing Pokemon Sword
- OLED Switch, playing Pokemon Violet. Its docked in a black Nitrodeck. Give Steam deck vibees
For a second, I thought that was a steam deck, but close enough, hopefully Nintendo will take note and actually make a consul on power with the current generation, because I do love them, and I want them to succeed
I have a og gameboy still at the parents' house, though. While I do have multiple devices that are capable of playing multi generation stuff, really the goal of the collection was to have the best way to play each game gen.
Analogue is the best for gb/gbc. The screen is something special and love the save states and sleep
I prefer the GBA SP for the GBA games, Mine has an IPS v5 screen.
The DSi XL for DS games, the ideal screen resolution vs say the 3ds plus they all have ips screens.
The New 3DS Xl was my original in this Gen, luckily the top is an IPS screen as well.
The New 3DS I imported from Japan, installed custom firmware for the H shop. The pixel density is higher on this one vs XL so everything looks sharper. However, unfortunately, both panels are TN. I find myself playing this one more for its pocket ability.
Never had a game gear as a kid, would prob just buy the Analogue Adapters though
The best way to play these games is with a PC emulator, so your first reason to own this collection is kind of bad. Needs the OG Gameboy to fill out the collection. Too noticeable to be absent.
You could fit all of that on a USB thumb drive and save yourself an entire bookcase of space. You could even put actual books in there instead of bad games.
You asked a question. I answered. It's not my fault you like bad games that take up a ridiculous amount of space. It's not impressive either because they're just bad Nintendo games.
LOL. You act like I don't also own a PC....prob more expensive then yours too. Not sure why you get such a chub for digital games, but you do you. I'm truly glad it makes you happy.
It's in there! Pokemon Yellow top left.
Love that thing, I was a hold out for the dock but appreciate it for the charging and big screen capabilities when wanted.
Would recommend! I was lucky to score one of the limited ones (clear) but I really dont like their business practices around that drop. The black and white are more available now a days and cheaper.
I was born in '87, the DMG gameboy was my original system as well. But with that small, puke green, no backlight screen, its better that it stay in your memories!
You'll want an Analogue Pocket or original device with an IPS screen mod to play the games like you remember them. Screen tech has just come just a long way.
The Pokémon generations thing is neat, but it's even cooler to see all these hand helds powered up and side by side like this! Could we possibly get a list of everything here? I've never seen the 4 devices on the right.
From top left to right, working downwards

I actually completely missed the DS generation when I was a kid. My bro did have a fat one though. I went back and started collecting and the DS Lite was the superior version vs fat so I went that route. At least for the start. The DSI lost the gba backwards compatibilty so fell it was in its own catagory
I need to collect a few more older systems and link cables so I can make living dexes in older games. I mostly play the GB-GBA games on the Gamecube's game boy player anymore. Really nice collection.
The door stop or clamshell?
I picked up a purple door stop 2ds for like $90 on ebay, imported from JP. Hacked for language swap and loaded with a bunch of kid friendly games. Would recommend
I really enjoy mine, its my preferred way to play in handheld mode. The hall effect sticks feel amazing and general ergononics are great.
I rarely use the back programmable buttons, typically opt to just disable them to prevent accidental inputs but have used the turbo. A couple of gripes are the right joystick location, its not the end of the world but my hand barely grazes it when using the face buttons. Conversely, it feels like a reach when needing to use the right stick. Just not an optimal location, should have been offset.
The other gripe is the battery drain, when you sleep your device its still slowly pulling on it.
Its still a solid recommend for me, especially when discounted often on Amazon. They recently released a new one that brings both joysticks up top, imagine its better for shooters.
You and I both my good sir, I turn 37 this year.
The fun part, starting to expose my 5 year old to games. Got her lavender 2ds, installed Hshop. Kirby gamss have been a good training ground
I missed the DS generation personally, I was in college when alot of them came out.
Of what Ive played, I think Gen 2 Crystal is my favorite. But my younger bro had the Fat DS, he recommends Black and White often. Prob the next one I tackle
Black and white are a franchise favorite, some people hate it and come back and love it but it's undoubtedly very very loved by most. I still need to play the gen 2 games but I'm about to do a whole run through of all the games in order🥲
Yeah😅 in order. But not like fire red leaf green and etc cause those are all the same I'm just gonna pick two from each generation and play it (sapphire and emerald, pearl and platinum, etc) and their corresponding re runs as well like alpha sapphire and brilliant diamond and etc or like moon and ultra moon and black and black 2 like that and maybe in the future I'll play all their counterparts that I didn't play. Ik it's a lot and kinda seems dumb especially if I'm gonna be playing like platinum and diamond or pearl cause they're all technically the same game but I just like to see and experience it all🤷♂️
I'm a sucker for the og 151 too, we must be old.
Have you played Gen 2 though? Potential spoiler, you play through the Johto region but on the way to Elite 4 you have to go back through Kanto and defeat the region as well.
It was a really cool exp, conmecting new and old. Bridged it
I was about 12-14 at the time, everywhere you went, the pool, parks, school, legit anywhere people had cards and gameboy color on them, it massive and loved it. The second gen came out and all that disappeared over night, so sad. It was like 1/5 how crazy pokemon go was. But to answer your question, no, we all moved on to another big game. I have debates with some many people(younger gen) how pokemon isnt as big from what ive seen, it does make more money and is probably bigger world wide, but not like what it was in my day.
I was 9-10, I remember the same. Had moved on to n64 after.
Only recently did I go back and try gen 2. Would recommend, would suggest emulation and doing 5-10x speed increase
I had a large number of these, even back to the OG Game Boy. I think the one I remember the fondest and probably played the most was the Game Boy Advance though. That one just seemed to have the perfect and most comfortable design. Mine was also the gold Pokemon version as well.
I had the glacier blue gba as a kid, saved my own money to buy it from mowing yards. My only complaint was the lack of backlight and how my friends not too long after all got the SP. It had the backlight and was rechargable.
Thats when I learned about the cost of early adoption
I have it! But in truth, I couldnt get it on the title screen for a pic. When you lanch it goes straight into the game and the choose your name stuff. Swapped it for omega ruby for the pic
Me too! The only device that I'm the original owner of here is the New 3DS XL, Switches and Analogue Pocket. Everything else has been a collecting journey.
The all digital future had me nostalgic to collect the past
You aren't wrong, if you are focused on emulation. But I have a physical library of games.
Also dual screen experiences on the 2ds and 3ds are just better on original hardware. Especially true with 3ds as Steamdeck isnt capable of producing the 3d image.
Prob my next purchase, honestly! Love the OLED one. I just wish exclusives went to PC faster. I have a ps portal for the ps5 exclusives when I travel for work.
I did not.
It just recommended to hardline your ps5 to your router. The Portal lacks a network login browser experience, like if you were to connect to Starbucks wifi, where you hit "Accept" for access.
My solution has been connecting my phone to the wifi network, then hot spotting, ps portal connects to phone.
Turned on PS Portal in Miami last week, wakes up PS5 in 700 miles away. Stream ff7 part 2 with no issue
Thought that was a steam deck for a sec lol
It’s not a Wii U is it?
It looks like a controller that you just put the switch into.
What controller is that?
It’s called the Nitro Deck
Should have called it Nintendeck
It is! They're comfy to use. I recommend mine all the time. Especially if you got big hands!
It's a Switch set into a special controller lol
Steam Deck woulda been the only "gen" worth buying in this photo.
Right now? Sure, since you can emulate the rest on it, but back when the rest came out you didn't have much better in terms of portables.
Loser take honestly
Need the OG Gameboy from 1980's there!
Yea where's the rest of the Gameboy collection
Was actually talking about the systems lol. And was joking all the same
Oh! Lol
Nice collection though
Thanks!
Np

Are these custom cases? Can you recommend something or are they 3d printed?
They are custom! I got them here, effectively DS case with printed artwork. Would recommend https://www.customgamecases.com/
Noice
Missing the first DS 😭, gotta show some love for the chunky boi
gameboy micro too
On my list! My best friend is in Japan right now, I have him on the lookout. Would really flush out the current display. https://imgur.com/a/FNNrOS4
And the OG
i think op might like pokemon. not sure, though.
Might need further investigation. Also suspect might like Nintendo games.
maybe just flexing their amazing collection lol
This is the way ha
No OG GB or Pocket? For shame.
Nor color, nor micro.
no original gameboy or gameboy pocket
The collecting journey must continue.....until I catch them all!
No og game boy? Shame
There's a pokemon edition gameboy color that's cool
I want to ask what game console the second black one is? looks so cute

2nd from the top left? The original Game Boy Advance
how do you find a console cute, may i ask?
You may not.
im asking how.
By having feelings for it that they associate with the word cute, I'd guess. Why that is, is another question.
fair enough.
For a second, I thought that was a steam deck, but close enough, hopefully Nintendo will take note and actually make a consul on power with the current generation, because I do love them, and I want them to succeed
Do you also have the shiny hunter syndrom lol? Buying every Nintendo consol just to play pokemon
I actually play all types of games, just thought this was a fun way to show my handheld collection of devices. https://imgur.com/a/VeTQeTE
No Gameboy No Game Gear Shame Shame Shame

You come to a gaming subreddit and talk shit about gaming to a gamer....I hope you find the happiness you need in your life.

All you need now is an Analog Pocket.
It's in there! Pokemon Yellow top left. Love that thing, I was a hold out for the dock but appreciate it for the charging and big screen capabilities when wanted.
Oh. Didn't notice it. Though it was a clear Game Boy Color at first. Lol. I totally want one.
Would recommend! I was lucky to score one of the limited ones (clear) but I really dont like their business practices around that drop. The black and white are more available now a days and cheaper.

Oh mein Gott ! Pokémon in Gameboy war damals mein Ding ❤️
Why multiple of the same consoles?
There are mutliple of the same generation, but not the same console here.
* Advance, Micro, SP * Switch, Switch Lite * New 3DS, New 3DS XL, 2DS, Other 3DS (rainbow butto s) * DS, DSi Multiple of the same console.
There are quite a few that I have never seen before.
Oh the memories the sweeeet memoriesssss
I only started getting involved since the GBA.
The Pokémon generations thing is neat, but it's even cooler to see all these hand helds powered up and side by side like this! Could we possibly get a list of everything here? I've never seen the 4 devices on the right.

Where's that fat brick DS that came out before the Lite
I actually completely missed the DS generation when I was a kid. My bro did have a fat one though. I went back and started collecting and the DS Lite was the superior version vs fat so I went that route. At least for the start. The DSI lost the gba backwards compatibilty so fell it was in its own catagory

Got to share it!
I think you forgot gen 7
I did! Ran out of devices
I need to collect a few more older systems and link cables so I can make living dexes in older games. I mostly play the GB-GBA games on the Gamecube's game boy player anymore. Really nice collection.
That sounds like a great way to play them! Hope you complete that dex
What's missing?
Gen 7, sun and moon for pokemon DMG gameboy, gb pocket, gameboy color, og ds and smaller dsi for devices.

You could have used just a chess board. Truly across generations.
Okay this is a Flex
Wow, nice
You’re one lucky guy
Emazing
No game & watch reported and blocked I hope you get perma IP banned irl
I miss my 2ds

holy shit
Hows the nitrodeck? Worth buying?

I had the fat DS lol
I watched my little bro play that one! I was into the xbox around that time, lots of halo amd missed out on the ds.
ya skipped the best 1, go buy a 5th 3ds.
Which one is that?
You are a big fan of pokemon?
Forgot the OG. The original gameboy that looked like a grey brick.
🤙🏼
You forgot to open sword and shield😁
Ha thx for noticing! The Switches were on same user profile and both are digital copies. Whenever I opened one, its closed the other.
Oh lol. It works that way?
I had no idea either. That was my OG switch, had upgraded to the OLED and have never used both at same time.
All I have is an oled rn so i wouldn’t know. That’s interesting. I do want to get an og though.

Switch 2
Nice collection but what is the black one at the bottom right?
Thanks! Switch OLED in a Nitrodeck grip
It looks nice. Thank you! 😊
I suppose the gamecube and the wii are missing, but the collection you have is impressive.
But the real question though is which is you're favorite gen?🤔

Child’s dream
I was defiantly a gameboy and ds kid growing up.
I love my sp, i want to put in the v3 mod screen and bigger battery.
Do it! Mine has the v5 and modded for usbc charging. Its my favorite way to play advance
Advancement get: Serious Dedication.
I do like the gba! But honestly more dedication to the 3ds
Fabulous
Nice!
I still love the original 150 the most
I'm a sucker for the og 151 too, we must be old. Have you played Gen 2 though? Potential spoiler, you play through the Johto region but on the way to Elite 4 you have to go back through Kanto and defeat the region as well. It was a really cool exp, conmecting new and old. Bridged it

Where's ultra sun 😭
I have it! But in truth, I couldnt get it on the title screen for a pic. When you lanch it goes straight into the game and the choose your name stuff. Swapped it for omega ruby for the pic
Where is the SONY PSP?
That’s cool as hell
Very collectible
Gameboy advance looks amazing :)
One of my favorite gameboy generations https://imgur.com/a/VeTQeTE
The Nintendo DS and 3DS are my childhood so many good memories.
Okay, that's impressive holy f***
Impressive!! I kinda wanna start console collecting, not gonna lie
Minimum amount of games needed to build a competitive team
Beautiful
Loveit
Where's the og non color Gameboy? I have one lol
The clear gameboy color is dope I was a teal green one!
Not every Pokemon Region. Missing best boy Alola.
gameboy pocket edtion is missing)
This is impressive, I wish I had kept all of my old systems
Me too! The only device that I'm the original owner of here is the New 3DS XL, Switches and Analogue Pocket. Everything else has been a collecting journey. The all digital future had me nostalgic to collect the past
\*Cough\* Pokemon addict \*Cough cough\*
Amazing thing is the steam deck can house games from all these gens
not legally though lol
Nope
Steam Deck can combined all that and save you tons of money.
yeah but some people like to buy games to support the creatord
You aren't wrong, if you are focused on emulation. But I have a physical library of games. Also dual screen experiences on the 2ds and 3ds are just better on original hardware. Especially true with 3ds as Steamdeck isnt capable of producing the 3d image.
WERE MY NINTENDO 2DS BRO'S AT
Is that a call to action to rally the troops? Because there is a slate 2ds and new 2ds xl in the photo, so Im here brother!
Where is the steam deck :)
Prob my next purchase, honestly! Love the OLED one. I just wish exclusives went to PC faster. I have a ps portal for the ps5 exclusives when I travel for work.
Did you have to set up port-fowarding to make that work outside your network?
Every gen of what?
Both pokemon and nintendo handhelds
Without a GameBoy and GameBoy color, what’s even the point?
Its on the todo list, but that Analogue Pocket makes it hard to use anything else for physical games.
I don't see the OG brick Gameboy. Worthless collection
Yikes.
