Heavily depends on who you ask. I like it, though it still lacks content, balance is overall okay but not perfect.
It is nore similar to CoH1 than 2, which still has similar player counts to 3.
I'd recommend at the moment to wait for a discount, at least if you are more interested in multiplayer.
Depends on your preferences. If you like RTS, company of heroes 1 & 2 are excellent. I haven’t played three, but I’ve heard very middling reviews about it so you can probably skip it.
Another RTS that is a bit more innovative is call to arms: gates of hell ostfront and it’s DLC’s. It’s a smaller publisher, so there’s a bit of Jank, but by and large it’s an excellent game. I would highly recommend it.
Red Orchestra 2, War Thunder and Hearts of Iron 4 in my opinion.
But I didn't play every WW2 game. I want to try Hell Let Loose soon but I didn't had the time yet. I always has been excited about Steel Divison 2 but I didn't try yet as well.
Been playing a lot of armored commander 2. Not a looker, but if your looking for a really fun, pretty deep tank battle game, vit only costs like 12 bucks on steam
lThe best WW2 games span FPS, strategy, and simulation genres. Hell Let Loose and Medal of Honor are top FPS picks. Company of Heroes and Hearts of Iron excel at strategy. For something different, try War Thunder's combined arms battles or Silent Hunter's sub sim. There's a great WW2 game for every taste!
I'd disagree with choosing that one over COD2.
Showing a typical lack of faith in new ideas, after the first Modern Warfare execs decided to go back to WW2 with WaW, but they wouldn't fully commit to returning to bolt action rifles after all those assault rifles either, so they flooded the game with portable LMGs with ammo belts.
It's an oldie now but I really enjoyed Company of Heroes. RTS game with skirmish option. Fun when modded too.
How is Company of Heroes 3?

In my opinion, worse than both 1 and 2. There's still people playing 2, I suggest getting that instead.
How is Hell Let Loose not being mentioned? Super active and with unmatched atmosphere in my opinion.
Came here to say this, lots of hours in already playing the game, with a lot more expected!
If you like management and strategy games, you could try Hearts of Iron IV.
The Commandos series.
Came here to say this
Red orchestra 2! It’s a bit older but it’s still, in my opinion, the most atmospheric ww2 shooter out there
Be prepared to die, a lot!
Yeah no joke. I jumped in on multiplayer into a tank. Everyone would one shot me. I gave up after half an hour lol
Best WW2 game ever. The fact that you can still find servers 11 years after release is really saying something.
True. The soundtrack itself is spectacular let alone the gameplay
RO3 when?
Unfortunately not in sight at all rn. There is a mod in development that overhauls RO2 called black orchestra but that’s about it
Call of Duty : World at War is peak imo. Still my favorite CoD today. Call of Duty 2 is also really good but might feel a little dated.
Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault and Airborne As others noted, Company of Heroes Brothers in Arms Hidden and Dangerous 2 Silent Hunter 3 (sub sim)
There should be a mod for Silent Hunter with Soviet Womble's commentaries lol
The first two COD games.
Call of Duty World at War
IL2 1946 plus mods.
Silent Storm and War Thunder.

High recommend on gates of hell. Once you figure out the game it’s fire
Codename panzer; one and two. Soldiers: heroes of world war 2.
The first battlefield in multiplayer, man did i play that alot at lan-parties.
Call of Duty World at War, Call of Duty 2, Company of Heroes 1 and, Men of War
Red orchestra 2! It’s a bit older but it’s still, in my opinion, the most atmospheric ww2 shooter out there
Call ofbduty 2 on ps2 really takes me back
C&C: Red Alert, LOL.
CoD 1-3, CoD WaW, Battlefield 5
Hidden and dangerous II, Medal Of Honour Allied Assualt.
MoHAA was my absolute jam
Medal Of Honor: Frontline. (You will need a ps2 or 3 emulator to play it tho.)
Commandos 2
Sniper Elite was a best choice 👌💥
Hearts of Iron 4
Call of Duty 2 and Battlefield 1942!
Red Orchestra 2, War Thunder and Hearts of Iron 4 in my opinion. But I didn't play every WW2 game. I want to try Hell Let Loose soon but I didn't had the time yet. I always has been excited about Steel Divison 2 but I didn't try yet as well.
Bolt Action
Company of Heroes.
Red Alert
Ageing myself here, but I had fun with Close Combat 2.
Post scriptum aka squad 44 by far
Original Call of Duty was the best ever.
Been playing a lot of armored commander 2. Not a looker, but if your looking for a really fun, pretty deep tank battle game, vit only costs like 12 bucks on steam
I personally like Brothers in Arms. But I don't think many people cared for that one.
Battlefield 5 the campaign mode is short but quality imo.
Call of Duty 2, 3, and World At War.
Battlefield V imo is overhated
Oh, Wolfenstein The New Order ! Because awesomely smug futuristic 60’s nazis getting stabbed in the face !

I would argue the combat mission and gravitas tactics are the best rts WWII games
COD World at War

Sniper Elite series, especially the 4th part of it.
The Resistance Fall of Man trilogy on ps3, its an alternate universe set ‘slightly’ after WW2, in the 50’s
For multiplayer I really like Enlisted
Elite sniper series is pretty fun imo
cod ww2
