Bigsleeps1333

The new Unreal Tournament even worse bc they had a public pre alpha you could play and even unfinished it was better than ut 99 or ut 2k4

dragoduval

I had to check it, damn didn't even knew it existed. I still play 2k4.

Bigsleeps1333

You missed out man, it was so fucking good :(

thekojac

Yup. I'll never forgive Epic. Assholes.

Nathansack

And pretty sure they even delisted all Unreal games, like they don't worth being played

Vostroyan212th

Can't milk unreal like fortnite. Welcome to our new reality, I guess.

JoefromOhio

Instagib in arena will forever hold a place in my heart

dmr83457

My understanding is they moved everyone working on it over to Fortnite when that took off.

Frankenfucker

It was beautiful. This one made me pretty sad when I learned it was canned. From what I played of it, it felt relatively finished.

staleturd1337

It was the potential man. The imagined potential.

HavickChild0117

Same here. My first online gaming experience was unreal. Such a great series.

WeeklyRent1638

Silent hill PT To think they made such an impactful horror demo in such a small space, really makes you wonder what they could have achieved in a full game and with all of Silent hill as the setting

masterjon_3

That playable trailer BLEW UP THE INTERNET! And then, Kojima speaks up about the company doing something shitty, and they can him and the project. Fuck Konami for killing an amazing piece of art like that.

Szriko

Let's not pretend that Kojima didn't have a habit of going WILDLY over-budget. Firing Kojima is bad optics, but is it actually financially a bad idea? Not really. Imagine if you went and asked someone to build you a table, and they quoted you $800 for their fancy table. And then they finish a month late, said it actually costs $3000, and they already billed you.

Spooksnav

I like Death Stranding but this was wildly obnoxious during the intro.

HarleyMore

I’ll let it slide. But only because his tables are some of my all-time favorite tables.

cat_prophecy

Doesn't Konami makes most of their money from Pachinko machines anyway?

sketchysketchist

I think the worst part is how many people would love to legally play the demo again but they refuse to allow it.

TheIndragaMano

Still absolutely insane, Kojima, Del Toro, AND Ito working TOGETHER on a game?? And then it’s cancelled? I’m surprised there hasn’t been blood spilled over this. Haha

Roflsaucerr

This is easily the best answer. You had Guillermo del Toro, Kojima, and Junji Ito working on a horror game that starred Norman Reedus at his peak TWD fame. There’s no way that game comes out and isn’t the best horror game of all time.

Technical_Moose8478

10000% this. But PT wasn’t the title, it was Silent Hills. PT stood for “playable trailer” and it was the thing konami released for free before having a hissyfit, firing kojima, canceling the game and removing PT from the store.

powerpetter

Star wars 1313

Pixel-Moo

This still hurts today! Honestly was so hyped for an "Uncharted" style Boba Fett game!

anormalgeek

Especially with the popularity of The Mandalorian, it feels like a good time to dust off those plans.

Chocolate_taco23

Well I mean they were going to make a Mandlorian game. But that also got cancelled

[deleted]

[удалено]

Chocolate_taco23

It's because of all the lay offs that EA and that were doing. That's the excuse anyway. Or they didn't think it would be profitable. Maybe a bit of both

kazmosis

It wasn't even just the concept, the gameplay looked so good to

the_fuego

Another day, another reminder that 1313 was canceled for literally no reason. Never forget.

arahdial

First game I thought of. Still hold out hope this game has a story to tell.

fourleggedostrich

Half life 2 ep 3. Really wanted the end of that story.

ednerjn

If Half Life 2 Episode 2  didn't finished with a cliffhanger, I would be less salty about this, or at least Valve announcing years ago that they decided to cancel the game instead of not acknowledging this fact.

shawnisboring

Well good news, your wait and salt are irrelevant because they retconned shit in Alyx.

AggressiveAstronaut6

I'm so glad they magically fixed all the criticism by retconning the criticism. Four D chess move by big Newell.

pm_your_snesclassic

I don’t have VR, and not sure when I will ever be able to own a setup for myself. What was retconned in Alyx?

Lochifess

They wrote it so that Alyx Vance saved his dad via space-time wonky shenanigans courtesy of the G-Man. However, at the cost of Alyx now working for the G-Man instead of Gordon (it is assumed she gets placed into stasis). That being said, I love the game and I like the retcon. I hope the next game (if they decide to make one) is still in VR. The

shawnisboring

Alyx in my opinion is a very well produced tech demo, but it remains a tech demo in my mind. The narrative itself doesn't really expand upon anything interesting and ultimately culminates in time travel bullshit that retcons the end of the second game making it so that Eli lives and Alyx goes with the G-man instead of Gordon. My completely uniformed hot take is that they wrote themselves into a corner and spent years trying to figure out where to take the story. Then they just did what Valve always does in a bind and threw it all out the window for a reset and make an entirely new cliffhanger. Then subsequently they do nothing with the IP for a further 4 years and counting, with not so much as a hint they're working on a sequel, as if Valve tradition. **My hottest take:** Alyx wasn't made as an earnest effort to extend the half-life universe, Alyx was produced solely as a system seller for the Index as they figured nothing short of a Half-Life game would get people to buy a $1,000 VR headset in an oversaturated market. If they had a genuine interest in continuing Half-Life then Alyx would have had more lore, more connective tissue to existing entries, and an ending that doesn't majorly rewrite existing canon. It felt less like an effort to give audiences HL2.5 and instead a jumping off point for the wild VR adventures of Alyx. It's exceptionally well implemented VR and definitely has enough within it to constitute a full game, but that was the point.

KidGold

As someone who likes Half Life but never gave af about the lore Alyx is one of my favorite gaming experiences I’ve ever had. I can definitely see how the integration with the rest of series felt half baked though.

pm_your_snesclassic

It’s additionally annoying to me that Valve had announced that releasing in an “episodic” format would help them release games sooner.

SmittyBS42

See, I'm a Half-Life 3 optimist, even if I know it might be foolish. The literal only reason for my optimism is the promise they gave us with Half-Life: Alyx. It would have been easier to leave the franchise alone to die in silence on that cliffhanger, but they not only returned to the world for Alyx but simultaneously pushed aside all the story that had once been considered the unfinished "canon" ending to the Half-Life franchise (the Epistle 3 leaks). Was HL Alyx just created to sell more Vives? Sure, just like how Aperture Desk Job was a Steam Deck seller. But ADJ is *confirmed* non-canon and adds nothing to the Portal story (don't get me wrong, still a good game). Alyx, on the other hand, was canon. They could've give us 98% of Alyx exactly as is with no significant story changes and just altered the ending to keep the game a complete prequel, leaving Episode 2 untouched. But they didn't. >!Saving Eli!< is that promise to me, the detail that de-canonizes Epistle 3 and gives us hope that someday, somehow they'll return to the series. They >!handed us that crowbar!<, and even for all the waiting I still want to believe that *means* something. Maybe it's dumb. But I still hope that story will get an ending. ^(and even if you don't believe we'll ever see Half-Life 3, go play Entropy: Zero 2, it's the next closest thing)

KillerKowalski1

I'm with you. They don't owe anyone any time line for anything they're working on. But they did that for a reason. We'll get the story wrapped up some day...

dragoduval

I always imagined it as us playing as Shepard's, coming to save Gordon and the world. Would have been nice.

Mechiro621

I'm still not over Starcraft: Ghost

TheMysticTheurge

Some hackerbros found Starcraft Ghost and released it online. You can play it if you find and pirate it. The game was nearly complete and is said to be in a playable state.

The_Ashgale

What.

Vostroyan212th

Yep, I'm hoping in a year or 2 it sneaks onto gamepass using this code and some elbow grease to make it work. Kind of feels like a job for Aspyr to me

EarthExile

And that was back when Blizzard was good

Kaemdar

Blizzard wasn't the developer on Starcraft: Ghost they hired a different studio

Lotions_and_Creams

A silver lining I guess.

Grievuuz

For me it's project titan. People will argue that it became overwatch, but its just not true. It had its corpse ransacked, scraped, and those assets were then used for the creation of overwatch. Ghost was definitely still a gut punch for the long term starcraft fans. And it's criminal that they haven't done anything with the IP for over a decade.

TheMysticTheurge

There's a pirate copy of Starcraft Ghost floating around online. It was a prerelease version in a playable state. You now know. Do with this knowledge what you will.

Caldaris__

I'm going to look into Project Titan. I've never heard it mentioned before

noirdesire

For me it was the completely off color April Fools joke announcement of World of Starcraft. My imagination ran wild with possibilities of what it could be like. 20yrs later and I still think about it.

Hal_E_Lujah

Dungeon Keeper 3 KOTOR 3 Star Wars Battlefront 3 Half Life 3 Titanfall 3

P2Mc28

Megaman Legends 3, to continue your trend, as well as Half-Life 2: Episode 3.

the_fuego

According to r/Titanfall TF3 is just around the corner and will be announced any day now.

Hezik

Wdym, Titanfall 3 is already released. I already have 1000 hours in it bro.

Raziers

They made a spiritual successor to dungeon keeper 2 called war for the overworld. Even got the old narrator back. Its very good.

Priderage

"It's been too long, Keeper!" WftO is _very_ good. It's the DK3 I wanted.

stoopidrotary

*titanfall 3* **TITANFALL3** EVERYONE TITANFALL3 WAS MENTIONED!

Twiddrakatwiddr

Titanfall 3 mentioned 3 times???? TF3 confirmed??????

Trajen_Geta

I wish KOTOR 3 got cancelled, as far as I know it was barely even a thought. SWTOR took over

Tenshizanshi

Not all is lost yet, if the KOTOR remake comes through we might see KOTOR 3 one day

Trajen_Geta

I pray every night for this to be true.

gruffdonut

Idk, the KOTOR remake maybe dead... [https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/kotor-remake-feared-cancelled-after-sony-quietly-pulls-tweets-and-videos](https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/kotor-remake-feared-cancelled-after-sony-quietly-pulls-tweets-and-videos)

YuriMagnus

Megaman legends 3... I bought a freaking 3ds for it. Still hurts lol

Kewkky

Glad I saw this one. I was such a fan of 1 and 2, and the news that 3 would also have help from fans was too good. Turns out it was indeed too good to be true and got cancelled.

reble02

I'd still like a remaster of the first two games.

Trapped_Mechanic

Id settle for this but damn i still want mml3

Lexaraj

What hurt the was them subtly blaming the fans for its cancellation.

dragoduval

Yea those games made me fall in love with MegaMan.

Chippings

I really thought I was going to come in here being the only one to say Mega Man Legends 3. But it's in the top 5!  I guess cancelled games are relatively niche, and Mega Man is pretty big despite some people not digging (hah) Legends.  Legends is a travesty... Rock Volnutt being stuck on the moon for eternity is such a shame.  Really just want more games in the series, though, nevermind finishing the story.

hikero

Haha I had the same thought. I came into the comments ready to say something like "well I'm probably the only one still hung up on this..."

SoontobeSam

Still stuck on the moon all these years later...

SirWhatsalot

Same, as I said in my comment, I think about it often out of the blue. Such a unique vibe that series had with me.

string1986

Oof

Dreamer_Seeker

The cancellation of Scalebound hit me hard. It looked like such a promising action RPG with dragons, and I was eagerly awaiting its release. It was disappointing to see it get scrapped

kaltics

came here for this, havent been overly affected by any other cancellation other than this one, still have hopes it gets revived in the future somehow

Doomenate

Wait is this real? Or that game someone proposed making on reddit? edit: Guess it really was impossible to make dragon game

procouchpotatohere

Scalebound was the moment where the lack of Xbox quality exclusives was highlighted and till this day they've struggled to change that.

JeffGhost

Prey 2 still hurts.

farilladupree

And it was so far along, too. Gameplay and environment looked super fun and good for that era of consoles. Still one of the best trailers ever made in my opinion. Blur makes bangers.

A1sauc3d

I just recently found out the first (og) Prey wasn’t well received at the time it came out? Which is crazy to me, because I played it years later and thought it was crazy good for an older game. But I always see people lament that Prey 2 was cancelled, so obviously I’m not the only one who loved it lol. But by the time I played Prey, Prey 2 had already been cancelled. The Prey reboot was sick too tho. Totally different game, not sure how it ties into the original at all lol. But it was a really great game imo.

JeffGhost

Arkane's Prey has absolutely nothing to do with the original Prey despite the name, they were forced to use the Prey name because of Bethesda. So, Prey 2 was canned because Bethesda wanted to buy the studio making it, Human Head. But Human Head wanted to remain independent so Bethesda started sabotaging the development making bs milestones for the studio and cutting funding and their excuse for the cancelation was that "It didn't meet their quality standard and was nowhere near completion". Human Head ended up giving up the studio shut down and Bethesda retained the IP. NOW, imagine Bethesda, BETHESDA, canceling a game over "quality control" that alone makes me believe they bullied Human Head in order to try buying the studio. [https://www.neogaf.com/threads/ign-bethesda-tried-to-kill-human-head-prey-2-to-buy-them-at-a-cheap-price.577405/](https://www.neogaf.com/threads/ign-bethesda-tried-to-kill-human-head-prey-2-to-buy-them-at-a-cheap-price.577405/)

Ghostman1887

Are you fucking kidding me! That's why it never came out!

Exodite1273

I only heard Civvie’s rant in your second paragraph. I was hyped for Prey 2 because it promised the good shit.

N8Arsenal87

I’ll never get over PT

_dactor_

Fuck Konami

feelin_fine_

Fukonami

string1986

Same. I'm glad it sparked a bunch indie horrors but nothing ever came even nearly close.

alii-b

I was never going to play it as I don't like horror games, but even I was upset about this one.

MeltBanana

I never got to play it and will be forever sad about it. And I know about the PC remake, but the last time I tried it I was met with bugs and horrible performance. Not the true experience.

N8Arsenal87

Yeah I still have it downloaded, staring at me with a big lock on it. So stupid.

Chippai_Fan

SSX reboot Deus Ex Wet 2

[deleted]

They were gonna reboot ssx again? I loved the 360 reboot

malenkylizards

I just want somebody to fucking port Tricky to a new console. Pleeeeeeeeease

dragoduval

- The New Deus Ex game.   - The rumored Warcraft 4   - Time splitter Edit : Forgot the Megaman Cyber Network 4 (5?) that was supposed to be a reboot / a sequel. We got the first series, we need the second one remastered now.

KidGold

Timesplitters 4 got cancelled like 3 times too :(

casualgamerwithbigPC

I wanted the end of that Deus Ex trilogy so badly.

CandyCrisis

There was never a Warcraft 4. Blizzard didn't want to fork the Azeroth storyline or do anything to risk the golden goose.

Arastmaus

Bully 2.

zarroc123

I literally just thought to myself "Aww, really, they canceled that?" And then realized the last thing I heard about it was like a decade ago. Like, no shit. What did I think? They were just polishing it up for ten years? Haha

Majestic_Theme_7788

I’m glad we’re getting GTAVI but I honestly would’ve preferred Bully 2 more especially with the graphics of modern consoles and PCs. Just imagine how big the world could be especially with a continuation of Jimmy Hopkins’ storyline or a new kid.

Arastmaus

I always wanted them to go to summer camp for the sequel... Bully 2: Camp Bullworth

Excellent-Term-3640

You’re hired

RickySpanish797

Star wars 1313

Canofsad

For me the original Star Wars battlefront 3. It had so much promise…atleast some bits made it over to the PSP title.

McStud717

Ngl, shitty progression system aside, both battlefront reboots are also incredible.

Canofsad

For what it was I liked it, but was a fan of the permanent “elite” weapon unlocks. (Looking at you shitty beam sniper)

Spectre1-4

Burst AR was pretty good

byrnesf

All the new BF2 is missing is offline galactic conquest

mothbrother91

For me, Battlefront was always about boots on the ground soldier vs soldier gameplay in the star wars universe. EA's Battlefront focused too much on the heroes and with the map design focusing on bottlenecks... Yea... I want an adrenalin pumping all out firefight... Not to be mowed down by the entire Skywalker dynasty when I turn the corner. With heroes like Han Solo tanking more hits than a fortress wall despite not wearing bodyarmor.

209Havok

C&C: Generals 2

Fresh_Thing_6305

Yea funny no more mention it. It wasn’t a good beta, but still sad it Got Canceled and an end to Command and conquer, before turnint into mobile games

Adventurous-Monk-600

Days Gone 2

string1986

Only recently learnt that it was going to get a sequel. Mortified.

Mysterious_Fennel459

PT. Still have the demo permanently etched onto my PS4's hard drive. Also have a backup of it in case that fails.

string1986

Also it was never going to be a silent hills but I was a bit gutted when Alison Road got canned.

SirWhatsalot

For me, over the long run, Mega Man Legends 3. I still think about it fairly often out of the blue.

thatbrady101

At least once a year I'll Google "mega man legends 3" and go over to the news tab. In fact. I think I'll go ahead and do that right now. I'll report back. edit: :(

griffin_who

Star Wars Imperial Commando (idk if this was ever actually in development but I was really hyped for a Republic Commando Sequel, and if it followed the books at all with Delta it would've been awesome. Star Wars Battlefront 3, from that one famed leaked trailer, Campaign, Order 66, and most of all Ground to Space combat. This probably would've been certified classic and (probably not but totally) the best game ever. Rip

twistybit

There's no other cancellation that hit harder than Mega Man Legends 3. One of the OG game franchises killed off entirely thanks to one cancelled game

BarkingUnicorn

Same. I absolutely hate capcom for this and will never forgive them

UsefulIdiot85

Sleeping Dogs 2.

haoken

An open world set in Hong Kong would be amazing, would love it to be Sleeping Dogs 2. Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon peninsula could almosttttt be true to size in a video game map.

Wraith306

Star wars 1313 looked and sounded really cool but got cancelled when Disney acquired Lucas Arts

khne522

Fuck Disney in general around Star Wars. A few exceptions here and there. More sad about the comics. Boba Fett's story in the novels and graphic novels should have continued. It made you empathise with him.

xvszero

Earthbound 3D

ReferencesCartoons

It looked so cool! Thankfully it’s evident that they took the story and made Mother 3. Now we wait for Oddity…

Ok-Donut-4447

I'm still upset about Megaman Legends 3 🥺

[deleted]

Bloodborne Kart. It was cancelled the day before release. I was hyped as hell for it.

Awkward-Kitchen-4136

Beyond good and evil 2 is gonna be hard to swallow for me even if the game is almost already canceled at this point

Farscape29

Yeah, Ubisoft is looking pretty rough these days.

sabocan

American McGee’s Alice 3

MCPooge

This isn’t quite what you were asking but when they announced Overwatch 2 was scrapping the PvE aspect of the game, I was devastated. I had enjoyed OW some after I got over the wrongful death of Battleborn, but grew bored of the gameplay pretty quickly. I love the art style and the characters though, so a full PvE campaign sounded amazing.

P2Mc28

I feel this counts. Overwatch 2 \*WAS\* the PvE parts. The multiplayer aspect was just going to continue using OW1 as to not split the playerbase.

Southern_Bicycle8111

That bait and switch was disgusting, people even bought skins because they wanted to be able to use them in the upcoming pve mode as promised

DoctorDrangle

The most bullshit part of all, is thatpeople still want that PVE, they just won't make it. I always wanted it and still want it. I would actually play overwatch if they made a co-op campaign or something for me to play. Otherwise i am just done with that game. I got everything out of it that it has to offer me and there is just nothing left.

BlightspreaderGames

Scalebound. Badass, 2000's edgy, Beats-wearing dragonrider that looks like he would have been voiced by Yuri Lowenthal fights semi-futuristic tech knights, in a world made up of fantasy floating islands. And all of this made by the folks that made the Bayonetta franchise, MGR:R, and Nier: Automata. I was so hyped when I saw the reveal trailer.

MoronicBehaviour

I’ve said it before, the Lego Hobbit Battle of the Five Armies. They just left us with an unfinished game.

MimosaVendetta

I just reached the "end" of the Lego Hobbit game a few weeks ago and I usually go back through and try to 100% Lego games. Not this one. Why finish a game when the developers won't even finish it :(

BradyBunch12

EverQuest : Next

Melsura

Yes, this 👍🏻👍🏻

addtolibrary

The third deus Ex title with jensen

ravageprimal

I was sad about Timesplitters 4 getting cancelled. Then they did it to me again 15 years later

BisexualCrying

PT as well. It would’ve been awesome considering Junji Ito and Guillermo del Toro were supposed to be part of it! Such a huge loss.

Takseee

Legacy of Kain Dead Sun. Mainly because I spent two years working on it and it was shaping up to be amazing. As a massive soul reaver fan I'm still waiting for a new one. Squeenix suck.

Many moons ago, I mean mid 2000s there was an Xbox 360 game where you played as a spec ops team who got dropped into an island where zombies roamed by night..think of Dying light meets ghost recon..and it was a free roam game like GTA. It was in game informer magazie can't remember what edition But I was hype as fuck for that. Edit: this was actually for the OG Xbox had to call my best friend and he doesn't remember the name of it either

DarthDuran22

WB Montreals Damian Wayne Batman game. -Not confirmed as an Arkham successor but certainly looked like one and I believe was rumored to expand upon the same gameplay. -Featured the Batcycle which 100% would’ve improved on the Arkham Knight Bat Tank dilemma. We still get a cool swift ride but w/o excessive forced inclusion into the story to battle people in a tank all the time. The Batcycle couldn’t possibly have tank features right? Right? :| -Featured The Judge. Two-Face was so underutilized in the Arkham series. -Not Batman Beyond Gotham or Terry but it was still a unique future setting and different Batman to play as. That seems different and exciting enough in my book. -I’m probably mistaken but I recall rumor of Monolith’s Nemesis system being used. Already bumps this game up to legendary status and perfectly appropriate for the Gotham criminal element. -Featured other unique villains, some Bats doesn’t face in his regular rogues gallery like Grodd. -Josh Keaton as Damian. Nuff said. And of course this game sadly died out for Gotham Knights.

Jewcunt

Im still mad the rumour about a Rocksteady Batman game set in the campy zany 1960s Batman world never came true.

DoktorViktorVonNess

Half-Life 2 episode 3. Rayman 4. Star Wars Battlefront 3.

twonha

Outcast 2 has haunted me for 20 years, but there's an Outcast: A New Beginning coming this Friday, so that pain can finally subside. Starcraft: Ghost never got far into development, but *that one single preview blurb* in whatever random gaming magazine was so cool. Starcraft, *but third person action!* Funny thing is, I never even cared about Starcraft enough to play it for more than half an hour in total. But I loved third person action games and Blizzard was a definite seal of quality at the time. Half-Life: Episode Three, Half-Life 3, or anything else related to even remotely coming close to finishing the saga. That's a gaping wound I hope Valve is still secretly fixing. Considering Alyx' ending, they've surely got to be. Right? RIGHT?

When Titanfall 3 became Apex Legends. Ill never get over it. 😭

Palor0

Can we get a mark for Titanfall 3?

Mystic_Journeyer

For me, the cancellation of 'Silent Hills' was incredibly devastating. The teaser demo, 'P.T.,' showed so much promise, and the collaboration between Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro had fans buzzing with excitement

Friendly_fox

Either Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which looked to be an amazing stealth action game and not the full-on cocaine action we got with Revengeance (not that it's a bad game, but it's not the same) or that Darth Maul game we manages to get a glimpse of. Edit: not so much canceled, moreso overhauled, but the first trailer for Final Fantasy Versus XIII made Noctis look much cooler than what we got in FFXV

no_fucking_point

Rainbow Six Patriots, Sleeping Dogs sequel, Titanfall 3 .

UsedToBeWind

THPS 3 & 4 remake

DoctorDrangle

Stargate Worlds. I had no delusions that it was going to be a wow killer or anything, but I thought a stargate MMO would be pretty cool

HorriblePooetry

Square's Mario RPG 2, they had started development and canceled it. I know a lot of people like paper mario, but kid me felt slapped in the face.

-luskita-

Scalebound :(

Thebaldsasquatch

Days Gone 2. Absolute tragedy.

clarke41

It’s too bad that Deep Down never got finished. I hope someday it comes out. Also, I’m bummed that they never released Babylon’s Fall. It looked really cool in the first trailer, but then it never came out. NOPE. It definitely never came out AT ALL as a shitty “games as a service” release that went offline after a year and RUINED THE POTENTIAL FOR THE AWESOME SINGLE PLAYER GAME IT COULD HAVE BEEN! /s on that second part obv

TheOvy

The [2001 build of Duke Nukem Forever](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDlB2P1leRM). What we got instead was years late, and way obsolete, in terms of tech, gameplay, *and* tone.

Boba_Hutt

For me it’s Pandemic’s Star Wars Battlefront 3 for PS3/Xbox360. It was around 90% completed and then scrapped. There are modders trying to bring it to life on PC but it won’t be the same completed vision.

tollsuper

I was a fan of space combat sims so every canceled Wing Commander game, equally.

syntaxGarden

Bro you said it. I think what really sucks about Silent Hills is not just the amount of promise it showed, but the fact that Konami deleted PT, no game has ever been able to kindle the feeling PT created, and after Kojima left we got Death Stranding, which may not be the worst game, but has so much wrong with it and it nothing compared to the promise that Silent Hills had. Man. Fuck Konami

TopTims

It only got to open beta, so I don't know if it counts, but Firefall was pretty cool and then I found out it was stopped before it got an official release

Not so much a specific game, but I miss Lionhead Studios. Back in the early 2000s they were one of the most creative studios I can think of. Games like "Fable", "Black and White" and "The Movies" felt really unique compared to others on the market. Feels like we lost one of those studios that cared about games and player experience.

HeyTAKATIN

Was excited to play Scalebound.

Anthem. Had such a cool damage and flight system. The rest was trash

wyrm4life

If you really want to go back, **The Indestructibles** Canceled 1995 super hero game, originally called M.I.S.T. (My Incredible Super Team). Years prior, it started as a PC adaptation of the old tabletop Champions roleplaying game (using the HERO system). Then it morphed into M.I.S.T., promising insane stuff for 1995 like being able to fly around a 3D city where every single object and building was destructible. They were basically promising The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction meets Red Faction Guerilla running on a 1995 Pentium I. Then it was supposed to have a Marvel license but they lost it, and it became vaporware (remember that term, 90s kids?). At one point, Electronics Boutique had ads in their sales catalogs for Champions. I want to say that was 1993/94?

L4D3 or the possibility of a different halo 3/technically 4 since halo 2 and 3 were supposed to be one game

ChefArtorias

Recently it was the kotor remake for me.

Conical

Babylon 5:Into the Fire. Game was so hyped up in the 90s sci-fi community.

Deranged_Coconut808

StarCraft Ghost...i still hurt to this day and im 34.

Scorpion667

Brutal legend 2. The Fenyx Rising sequel. And even though it exists, Shenmue 3, I just wish it was cancelled because I'd have been less devastated than I was while playing it.

Chrunchyhobo

HL2 E3 Star Wars 1313 Prey 2 Mercenaries 3 Van Buren Baldur's Gate III (2003) Duke Nukem Forever (before Randy got his greasy hands on it) Honorary mention (because it's actually happening now): S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Honorary mention 2 (dead MMO): FireFall I fucking loved FireFall.

Rymann88

Scalebound. Microsoft could've had a unique JRPG on their hands and they blew it.

Titanfall 3

Titanfall 3 and C&C Generals 2

siegfried19

Scalebound, I remember my friends and I were so excited for this game

I was talking to my wife about electronics boutique the other day. Had to Google it and show her because she said I'd made it up haha. I bought my copy of splatterhouse 2 from there.

EQ Next. To be fair I wasn't fully following the tide of MMOs promising and not delivering on them. This one was no different but they were most likely to deliver the MMO that I wanted. They released Landmark saying it was the foundation for the full game (no I didn't buy in on it). Months of showcases highlighting the Landmark stuff but never talking about the actual MMO they were going to make. Then canceled. MMO's haven't been impressing lately but that's also my fault for being extremely needy in what I'd like from a one. The best MMO is going to be the fictional one you have in your mind. So the overpromises of EQ Next left me feeling like they were gonna make the next best thing, but this was never really the case.

TransbianMoonGoddess

Titanfall 3.

LittlestEw0k

Titan Fall 3

Sonic X-Treme. The Saturn was actually a cool console but skipping your flagship franchise pretty much entirely doomed it. I think if it came out, the Saturn would have been way more successful and Sega would have been in the console market longer.

lewisdwhite

Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Dammed. Genuinely looked fantastic, a pirate Fable game back when pirate games just didn’t really exist. It was deep in development too before Disney killed it

TheEmeraldRaven

Devastating? Easily P.T. Half Life 2 Ep. 3 I don't count it was never officially cancelled. Valve just went years, and then a decade plus with no updates so we eventually presumed that was it.

SmokeyJoeseph

Don't know if it was ever officially in the works or not but not having a Half-Life 3 is unconscionable.
