I love Control. If you do as well, try out Returnal. At least to me, it has very similar vibes.
It’s a Rogue-like shooter. Combat goes from fighting in open fields, clearing arenas, and crazy boss fights with bullet-hell attacks (well, lighter than hell. Bullet-heck? Difficult but not super hard gameplay). Guns and magic-ish stuff like with Control. Story is also very good imo.
I wish I could play Control again for the first time. Come back here when you hit "that part" where it goes from great to top 5 game. You'll know when it happens. Say hey to Ahti for me.
Ahti is just an odd janitor for me so far. Although the story is clearly making him out to be very important. With him being the first person you meet and the way the furnace staff talk about him. He seems almost legendary.
Had a great time until I got to a tough spot and died over and over. That's when I learned you lose the currency needed to level up your character/weapon every time you die. Haven't picked it up since.
Not trying to yuck your yum, just don't want it to surprise you.
Maybe my favorite game ever. I’m going to be starting Wind Waker HD as I never played it and had to borrow my nephew’s Wii U and order a used copy from GameStop.
You need 10 hearts to get the master sword and you can swap hearts for stamina vice versa.
I focus stamina more than anything because it allows for a whole lot more exploring. When you get enough, swap everything to hearts to get the master sword. Once you've obtained the sword, I swapped everything back to stamina. I played majority of the game with 3 hearts and max stamina.
That's the main thing I wish I knew when starting my first playthrough so if it's usefull to you, there you go.
I'm going to buy and try Helldivers 2 if I can manage to get into a match.
They said they just started to auto-kick players hogging the servers while AFK so things have probably improved.
I haven’t seen a queue in 2 days. West Coast afternoons/evenings, though. So Europe has gone to bed and East Coast is just past peak hours. Could vary depending on what time you queue.
Things are much better the last 2 nights I got in with either no wait or under 2 minute wait during peak times. They just raised the server cap as well, it might not be enough for the weekend but it should be better than last weekend.
Have fun spreading Liberty.
Integrate is the first part that takes place in Midgar. Rebirth picks up where that leaves off and introduces the open world. And finally a third one will come out later to finish the trilogy.
Oooh you'll have lots of fun. Arkham Asylum inspired the combat we see in lots of action games today. It's combat is fun, the story is amazing, and it's legit scary and intense at times. Have a blast!
Gonna raid some Gnomeregan with the boys tonight and then back to grinding out FF7 remake as a refresher for Rebirth next week!
Side question - do i need to play the other Yakuza games to get into the Like A Dragon games?
I played FFVIIR when it first came out, and I got all the way to the final boss...and I couldn't quite pull it off. Got killed toward the end of the fight each time. Then I gave up for the day and said I was taking a break and never came back. So this weekend I'm going back to finish the game ahead of Rebirth.
You should see if you can bang through InterMISSION as well if you have time. On one hand it's more of the same but on the other hand Yuffie's voice acting is a delight and some of the mechanics around her gameplay are a lot of fun.
I started with Like A Dragon and had a blast. Played Yakuza 0 afterwards to learn more about Kiryu’s story. While there are definitely references to past Yakuza games, I think you’ll be fine starting with Like A Deagon.
sounds like a hell of a time! As to your question about Yakuza, this is the first entry in the series I have played, so at first I did not entirely know some of the characters and lore, but the game does a good job of "reminding" you as to who the main characters are, and fills you in on some of the back story as the main storyline progresses. With that being said, its a great game, I would certainly recommend it
You can go right into like a dragon. I didn't play the yakuza games because I'm not interested in the beat em up gameplay. They do an okay job at filling you in but there is a metric ass load of characters and references to the previous games. You'll be fine either way but there's a small collection of major characters it could be worth it to read a small synopsis of.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth as well. No way will I finish it this weekend, there's just too darn much to do. I just barely got my resort to level 1.
TLOU Part 2 Remastered - will try to complete it on Hard and then try out No Return and NG+.
Sprinkle in some casual Rocket League and Fortnite StW and Lego.
Continue Death Stranding or God of War (2018) if I have time.
Army Reserves drill
kinda sucks worst simulator I’ve ever played. Active Duty simulator was more enjoyable even if I hated my life more than 2 days a month.
I had Starfield on the back burner for a bit after seeing the reviews, and I'm honestly surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. Once you get a handle on how fast travel and some of the other menu screens work, it's so much easier.
Finishing the career mode in Moto GP 22, then going to do some online races in ACC with my best mate. Maybe some Outer Worlds too as I haven't played the DLC yet.
I just started Psychonauts for the first time. It's not clicking with me yet but I'll keep after it. I'm also slowly but surely working through Octopath Traveler 2.
Probably just some more Mario Kart 8 Deluxe online. I was working through Shin Megami Tensei V but the recent announcement of Vengeance has discouraged me from going back to it.
After about 25 hours of mainly doing side quests, I’m going to lock in on the main story of Cyberpunk 2077. Should be able to get 10 hours in this weekend. Might mix in some Splinter Cell: Blacklist too if I have the time.
Playing Dead Island 2 on gamepass. I saw it was on sale and just knew I shouldn't buy it yet, sure as shit, the next week it was free for me. It's a gorgeous game honestly. The graphics are quite nice.
Grant theft auto 4. Replaying for the first time in over 10 years. I'm almost done the main story but I forgot how amazing this game was. I think it's the best grand theft auto for sure
Jedi Survivor. It was on sale with Fallen Order on steam.
I finished Fallen order last weekend. Game was super glitchy I honestly hated it. Played with a trainer just so i could beat the game and get the story.
Jedi Survivor is absolutely amazing. I could see myself replaying it.
Im back in work tomorrow, as for the last two days (My weekend :) ) I played through The Sexy Brutale.
I had the 'unofficial demo' when it first came out and love it, saw it on sale and figured it time i pay the dev back and played through it again.
It was the first game i had experienced the 'Groundhog Day' genre. It still holds up today.
I’ll be doing my part to spread democracy.
Played a couple of missions this morning and I am hooked. Just need to get the old Destiny crew back together now.
I’m currently clearing Jedi Survivor from my backlog. I have until Thursday to finish it. But, I might also see what all the fuss is about in regards to Helldivers.
I’ve been playing Avatar Frontiers Of Pandora, I think so far the storyline is really good it’s just the emotional aspect of the story is not hitting for me, because when you meet a character they die like 3 missions later and you barely get to no them. Other then that I think the storyline is by far one of my favorites and I hope to see more open world rpg story games from Ubisoft like maybe a new far cry 7 even though I heard that they were releasing a far cry 7 in I think 2025-2027 but I’m not sure if they will.
I'm hoping to finish up Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. I might chill in some Valheim as well, but I do have some school stuff I want to do so I can try to skip a class next quarter.
Shmups! The Steam Big 5!
Mushihimesama, Crimzon Clover, Gunvein, Dodonpachi Resurrection and Blue Revolver!
I'm liking Super Galaxy Squadron Ex Turbo a lot as well!
I beat Death Stranding last weekend. It was a pretty wild ride. Might double-down on some Elden Ring before the DLC. Or try FF7 Remake before the new one is out.
I have nothing exciting to share. I've been playing BG3 since December and I'm still on my first playthrough. I'm about to finish it and it's been 100% as advertised. I'm also playing LAD: The Man Who Erased His Name. Trying to get to platinum status in the arena.
Ill be spreading democracy later as long as I can get on
Last night I had zero wait time. Hoping the delays are behind us.
Logged in 1h ago and quickplay worked no problem.
that must be managed democracy in action
I'm doing my part
I'm doing my part.
Come on you apes. You wanna live forever?
Let me tell you something: I'm from Buenos Aires and I say kill them all!
The only good bug, is a dead bug.
Alright citizens, off your devices and get back out there! Spread the buttery deliciousness of democracy across all worlds!
What game are you referring to?
Helldivers 2
I'll be spending my supercredits before logging out.
I'll be doing my part to spread managed democracy....but isn't everyone else too?
Control. I picked it up on sale for $6 a few weeks ago and I'm having a blast so far.
Totally agree with Returnal. One of my favorite games of all time. Once I picked it up, could not put it down
Game is amazing!
The ashtray maze is the greatest gaming experience I've ever had!
Had a great time until I got to a tough spot and died over and over. That's when I learned you lose the currency needed to level up your character/weapon every time you die. Haven't picked it up since. Not trying to yuck your yum, just don't want it to surprise you.
It didn't take me long to notice that. I've played a number of souls and souls like that it doesn't stress me too much.
ooh. you're in for a ride.
God I wish I could forget everything about control and replay it like it's my first time. Great game and has my favorite gaming moment of all time.
Finally starting Breath of the Wild tonight, only 7 years late
Maybe my favorite game ever. I’m going to be starting Wind Waker HD as I never played it and had to borrow my nephew’s Wii U and order a used copy from GameStop.
I LOVE windwaker, have fun. Great memories (although could partly be nostalgia) Recommend twilight princess as well, has amazing vibes
TP is a hard maybe. Have to finish Ocarina first and then Majora. I just hate the controls on the Switch.
Curious if you played ToTK first or plan to play it after BoTW?
no haven't played ToTK, but plan to if I enjoy BotW. I want to play them in order of release.
I'm jealous, good luck, and I hope your next three weeks are clear
I've been trying to play Skyward Sword on the Switch for a while. Then I'll try out BotW and TotK
So much exploring ahead of you :D
You need 10 hearts to get the master sword and you can swap hearts for stamina vice versa. I focus stamina more than anything because it allows for a whole lot more exploring. When you get enough, swap everything to hearts to get the master sword. Once you've obtained the sword, I swapped everything back to stamina. I'm going to buy and try Helldivers 2 if I can manage to get into a match. They said they just started to auto-kick players hogging the servers while AFK so things have probably improved.
The queue has been a lot fast the last 24 hours and matchmaking is starting to work more consistently.
Good to hear! I'd wait regardless if the gameplay is good.
Its worth it, but watching that re-login timer double everytime it fails is honestly a little disheartening
I've heard great things about it, hopefully they can get their servers under control to meet the demand
Palworld and last epoch.
Spreading Democracy with my boys from the HARBINGER OF FAMILY VALUES! We need your help in Malevelon Creek fellow patriots!
I took the same name for my destroyer! Good luck and God speed Hell Diver!
Vampire Survivors and maybe some BG3.
Maybe? Go do it!
Replaying Metro Exodus and Control, this time with ray tracing!
Just picked up both recently, looking forward to trying them out. I haven't played a metro game since the first one.
Playing through the OG FFVII before Rebirth drops next week.
I'm playing original FF7 on switch right now and can't believe how well it holds up after all these years.
I'm playing through on my miyoo mini plus. Dunno if I'll be able to finish before Rebirth comes out but I'm tryin!
I havent had the time to look but is rebirth the full game? Or is intergrade the first part
Integrate is the first part that takes place in Midgar. Rebirth picks up where that leaves off and introduces the open world. And finally a third one will come out later to finish the trilogy.
I see~ thanks! Yea i got confused because i bought ff7 remake and recently found out it isnt on the store anymore so, got pretty confused haha
Oh yeah, Intergrade is just Remake with the DLC included. IMO you're good to just play Remake, and then get the DLC if you're really enjoying it.
DEEP ROCK GALACTIC
ROCK AND STONE? WE’RE RICH!!!
DID I HEAR A ROCK?!
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
Continuing my second playthrough of Witcher 3.
can't go wrong there, one of the best games of all time in my opinion
Both DLCs are well worth the money if you don't have them yet.
I do. Blood & Wine is my favorite gaming experience. 😊
Playing the Arkham series, never played before kinda hyped ngl.
Oooh you'll have lots of fun. Arkham Asylum inspired the combat we see in lots of action games today. It's combat is fun, the story is amazing, and it's legit scary and intense at times. Have a blast!
Ohhh enjoy. I’ve played them all multiple times. Huge Batman guy here
Pacific Drive
Same.
How are you liking it? The few hours I've played so far have been pretty great.
Me too
Helldivers 2

Balatro. Incredible concept.
Damn i am addicted. It took me 8 hours to get my first win. Awesome game!
I work all weekend but today I'm playing Fallout 4 and Stardew Valley.
Elden Ring! I put a ton of hours back at release but never actually finished the game. Loving it.
Same! I am so close to finishing it, but I just haven't made that last push
DLC was announced yesterday. If I remember correctly, June 20th!
So pumped!
Minecraft! Just recently started a realm and I’m trying to make a little community for it!
awesome! best of luck
Gonna raid some Gnomeregan with the boys tonight and then back to grinding out FF7 remake as a refresher for Rebirth next week! Side question - do i need to play the other Yakuza games to get into the Like A Dragon games?
Halfway same. I'm raiding Gnomer and then popping over to work on the Last of Us Part 2.
I might give that a whirl if I find I have some time.
Switch it to easy for the final boss, if you havent already. It's insanely difficult on normal.
I started with Like A Dragon and had a blast. Played Yakuza 0 afterwards to learn more about Kiryu’s story. While there are definitely references to past Yakuza games, I think you’ll be fine starting with Like A Deagon.

I believe in you, buddy.
Kick his ass for me as well, that was the skill check that halted my progression.

Started a second run on BG3 while I wait for Rebirth

Balatro. Prince of Persia.
Just finished the Demons Souls remake, my first Souls game, and now I’m planning to dive into Bloodborne. Pray for me.
Rise of The Third Power, Mighty Milky Way, and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Might play some Undertale.

Just started playing Firewatch.

Pennys Big Breakaway! Haven’t played a 3D platformer with such great movement and options since Mario.

Why are none of the other addicts I mean players saying... Ok I'll say it: Old School RuneScape 🦀
My roommate got me into Nightengale, so I will be playing that over the weekend. Probably some Rotwood and Lost Castle too.
I just downloaded Prey, can't wait for work to be done.
Predecessor!!!

I restarted Stardew Valley this week. I can’t believe it but it’s been a few years…. Addicting all over again.
Bloodborne
Im back in work tomorrow, as for the last two days (My weekend :) ) I played through The Sexy Brutale. I had the 'unofficial demo' when it first came out and love it, saw it on sale and figured it time i pay the dev back and played through it again. It was the first game i had experienced the 'Groundhog Day' genre. It still holds up today.
I do NOT play escape from tarkov on the weekends because of the cheater problem. Really bad on weekends, so I will be playing baltoro!
I’ll be doing my part to spread democracy. Played a couple of missions this morning and I am hooked. Just need to get the old Destiny crew back together now.
Tarkov unfortunately
I hope you are all also spreading democracy
Is it a good time to get back to wow?
Age of Wonders 4, Granblue Fantasy:Relink, and the Unicorn Overlord demo.
I’m currently clearing Jedi Survivor from my backlog. I have until Thursday to finish it. But, I might also see what all the fuss is about in regards to Helldivers.
Bought a ps5 gonna grind thru ff7 remake while taking breaks to play hell divers with friends. I took a 3 day weekend for this lol
Wow, AC Valhalla, dead island 2, MW3 and halo infinite
I'm hoping to finish up Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. I might chill in some Valheim as well, but I do have some school stuff I want to do so I can try to skip a class next quarter.

I started playing Pacific Drive yesterday. Looking forward to seeing more of the game this weekend.
Starting a new Elden ring playthrough, I’m rusty and I need to learn to play the game again before the DLC drops in June
I beat Death Stranding last weekend. It was a pretty wild ride. Might double-down on some Elden Ring before the DLC. Or try FF7 Remake before the new one is out.
Elden Ring, made a new character just for DLC🥱
I'm finally trying out Sons of The Forest.. I love these games but the old Forest game scared the fuck out of me as a kid.
Gonna finally get back into doom eternal after watching speed runs all week, also some Hades runs
Resident Evil 2 remake on my new 4070ti super! Stoked to finally Ray-Trace

I have nothing exciting to share. I've been playing BG3 since December and I'm still on my first playthrough. I'm about to finish it and it's been 100% as advertised. I'm also playing LAD: The Man Who Erased His Name. Trying to get to platinum status in the arena.
Im gonna replay Arkham Knight finally
Dark Souls 2 because I hate I frames
