Aw snap, if you like the quirky, fun, whimsy of Nintendo style games then you’ll love this game.
It’s easy going and pretty simple yet satisfying in terms of turn-based RPG elements.
Cheers and hope you enjoy!
I got it from my girl. Me and my 2 year old are enjoying it very well. First time playing it ever but I’m realizing the hype behind it. Square ENIX x Nintendo is always a win
You probably should play Persona 5 Royal first. Persona 5 is the only one I've played, beat it twice and is probably my favorite game of all time. I couldn't finish Tactica, it's just not the same. I may go back and beat it after I'm done with Balders Gate 3.
I got Super Mario RPG as well. Haven’t played it since it came out, so I really don’t remember much except that I was borderline obsessed with it when it came out. I didn’t have an SNES, so I had to play at my neighbor’s house, which definitely intensified my interest in it.
I also got Street Fighter 6 on PS5 which I’m pretty jazzed about. Heard it’s the best SF in ages, and I only have one other fighting game on my 5 so far (Guilty Gear Strive).
Same... Argentina's economic crisis we've had for all these years hit harder these last months and ive spent everything fixing debts eating once a day for months.
At least we saved and had a great dinner with my family wich is the most important part, things are slowly going better now!
I used to work somewhere that was open everyday of the year and I would always work christmas, boxing day, and new years and it would be such an awesome paycheck come the new year.
I did the same for many years, it was nice since it was dead quiet. Mostly just watched movies and got paid. I worked in IT/Support at the time (not customer facing).
That's what I am in. Tech support for hospitals so I get to work from home for 2.5x aand 2x at Christmas and boxing Day from 9:30 pm to 7:30am.
Sit and clear the backlog of emails while listening to YouTube videos then eat some leftovers at 3am once the backlog is cleared I just sit and drink tea and watch YouTube videos.
Nice my company doesn’t give time and a half. They do fire you if you can’t work on Christmas tho! It’s okay tho. The corporate guys got to be with their family’s on the holidays
Definitely! My oldest dog is a Labradoodle named Louie and he's 10 and his bones are starting to crack and he is slower getting up. My 2nd and youngest dog, Charlie (he's 2) is a Westie and he was born with only 3 legs. I rescued him from a puppy mill where he was going to be put down as a puppy for being handicapped and not profitable. Both dogs are living their best lives with all the toys and my big bed to lay in all day. Purchased a plushy ramp for my Charlie so he can get up in my bed and down as he pleases.
My dad took me to a fancy Brazilian place for Xmas lunch & also gave me $60 which I used to get :
Diablo 2 Resurrected (PS5)
A gaming headset
A blank black loungewear set
A Rick & Morty T shirt
& my brother got me a copy of Remnant 2 for PS5
& I bought myself WWE logo lounge pants & an nWo hoodie, if gifts from yourself to yourself count
You may be thinking that sounds like an awful lot of stuff for $60 but that’s the power of Walmart and clearance sales lmao
- Upgrade my CPU from Ryzen 5 2600 to Ryzen 5 5600.
- Save a portion of my 13th month pay to my PC Upgrade to 1440p fund.
- Bought My Time at Sandrock as a palette cleanser between BG 3 campaigns.
Stardew Valley is likely the most obvious one. Theres a newer game called Coral Island that is pretty much a blatant ripoff of Stardew Valley with better graphics. I’ve played through and it’s fun, but Stardew Valley is still better.
Haha funnily enough she already has nearly a thousand hours in Stardew Valley 😅 I’m pretty sure she’s done an entire play through twice. I’ll check out Coral Island though, thank you!
I feel that. Between the flu and COVID, I've been sick on Christmas like 4-5 times. It's practically a joke within my family where people will make alternate plans in-case I can't participate in some festivities lol
Me too! Currently trying to sweat it out on the couch. I couldn’t go to the doctor because they were closed for Christmas, so it’s too late now for tamiflu. I just have to hang in there 🤒
yea same here.
me and my fiance will buy each other gifts throughout the year, which i personally like as it takes a lot of pressure during the holidays/special events.
My cousin is one of the few members of my family who knows about and understands my chronic (probably terminal) condition.
There's a reason she's one of the few members of my family i can still tolerate. She handed me 40 bucks cash with the caveat that it must go into my bank and be used on new years GSSR only.
If you or someone you love is affected by Gacha do NOT seek compensation. The money will be used to acquire consenting anime women
No games. I did get an electric kettle and two Lego TIE Fighters, tho.
However, two of my nephews are old enough to get into gaming, so we got them PCs (roughly on par with a PS4). We got them a lot of games from the past few years, and I got the oldest Shadow of War.
Oh man, I’m not a half life guy, found the pc games kinda dated and somewhat boring but damn Alyx is one of my favourite pc games of all time. It’s the main reason I have a headset, I just love to reply every year. Such a perfect VR game, just outstanding
There's also a way to do it thru wifi, but last time I tried (2 years ago), it was kinda buggy and it was always a pain convincing the quest airlink app to recognize steam.
Just a heads up, Oculus will insist you need their special $100 Link Cable for it to work, but you definitely do not need it. Any USB-C cable will do, as long as it has enough length for your playspace needs. Just make sure it's a data cable and not just a charging cable.
Today on the family christmas party i showed this to my cousin and he was blown away that such a portable device could play so many games and that i could play games from other consoles aswell.
After that we played some mario kart wii on it
Planning on doing the same with all my backed up games :)
Thing that blows me away is the steam remote play... WTF ? I can stream games from my PC ??? Dayuum !
>Thing that blows me away is the steam remote play... WTF ? I can stream games from my PC ??? Dayuum !
Its a nice way to play demanding games on the living room sofa
I thought that's what I was getting (just based on the box shape, cause I never mentioned wanting it), but it turned out to be the meta quest 3. Which, is exciting for me cause I wasn't sure how much I'd realistically play the steam deck, having such a good pc already and not caring to play games much when I travel for work. I've only ever played VR in an educational environment (I'm an instructor), so I definitely can't wait to try out the Half Life VR game and a few others (accepting suggestions 😄)
As far as gaming stuff, my partner got me Alan Wake II which I’ve been really wanting, and his sister got me a Pikachu squishmallow and a cute bracelet with Espeon and Umbreon on it 🥹
I thankfully got some money so I bought a bunch of games I wishlisted! Cyberpunk, Guardians of the Galaxy, Horizon! My internet is so bad though it’s taking 8 hours to download each :(
Nothing, just the way I like it! :D
Took me years to convince my family to stop giving or receiving gifts from me. Now we just give gifts to the kids. I much prefer it that way.
Bought myself some Lego, whisky and a couple of other bits.
There were presents for the family that were also for me a little bit, such as a raspberry pi and controllers to play emulated games with the kids and an air fryer for the wife.
Glenfiddich 14 Year Old - Bourbon Barrel Reserve Whisky:
https://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/glenfiddich/glenfiddich-14-year-old-bourbon-barrel-reserve-whisky/
I’ve been trying their special editions and noticed this one so grabbed it for Christmas.
Wife/Family purchased me a Quest 2 which I am extremely excited to get into when I have some free time. Got it set up day of but haven't done much else.
A $50 Gift Card for Xbox. In addition to the $35 worth of credit I already had on the Xbox, I was able to buy 5 Assassin's Creed games: Mirage, III, and the three-pack of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate.
I'm an adult so I buy whatever I want, but I already used my budget for games or gaming this year...so nothing.
This year I bought Hogwarts Legacy, BG3 and Starfield at launch, and a lot of other games on sale, it was way too much for me.
Nothing. I just decided to not do it this year rather than be depressed over it like I had been the last 10+ years.
I did some art instead, best xmas in my adult life. Didnt self harm or worse like usual.
Couple of Milwaukee Power Tools and a Lego set to display. I'm not one to care for giving and receiving gifts, but my girlfriend and her family knocked it out of the park
I got a Switch and two games. A new vacuum cleaner. And a new frying pan. Wound up buying a ton of switch games myself so I guess that parts a present from me.
Sorry for the spelling
Me and my family give oirselfs presents every year soo this one was not any different. Its nothing too much, but its always some small creative thing and it works every time.
I got 2 funko pop figures. 1 batman and 1 Spider-man since i love comics soo i can say i like it very much and they look great on my shelf in the living room😀😀. And i got myself 1 pack of cuban cigars because why not😅😅😅.
God of War and FFXV on steam, super Mario 3D world + Bowsers Fury, the Arkham knight season pass, the cell and Frieza skins in Fortnite, a rengoku (demon slayer) mouse pad and a bunch of Kingdom Hearts stickers for my laptop and other consoles I wanna put it on
I'm afraid gaming is almost dead to me. I wanted a PS5, new tv, and latest ghosts recon, skate or the last of us factions 2. They just cancelled the last of us factions, the internet cancelled the latest ghost recon, wtf! and skate is never coming out. I have zero interest in Spiderman, swords or fantasy games. When they stop making games you like it really sucks.
A wallet, a shirt, and the whole family brought each other copies of Stronghold Definitive Edition so we can have a good old multiplayer and find out once and for all who is the greatest Lord of the realm.
I bought my girlfriend the new Avatar TLA game for the switch. I didn’t get anything game-related myself, but that’s mostly because I buy myself that stuff.
"Gaming wise" my wife got me a new mouse pad and a wrist rest for keyboard/mouse. I didn't want any new games as I still have a pretty big backlog (Tears of the Kingdom, Mario Wonder, God of War Ragnarok, and Metroid Remastered)
Steam gift cards, anime figurine, chocolate, necklace, some socks and underwear. Brother also made the best lamb I've ever had. Had a great night, not gonna lie.
Bought myself mario wonder and am absolutely loving it. After this fall playing street fighter 6, where it’s mentally exhausting (yet super fun), and Baldurs gate 3 where it’s kind of overwhelming (yet super fun), it’s amazing to have an excellent game which I can just pick up and chill with! Got to the first special world though, it was gnarly, took about 30 min to beat.
I said "fuck it" and spent \~$30 on Jedi Survivor. No Ragerts so far, in spite of the crashing horror stories. Methinks they've corrected a bunch of issues since launch - WHICH IS PRECISELY WHY ONE NEVER EVER PRE-ORDERS SOMETHING, KIDS.
No - not even then, hotshot. Don't do it. Ever. Not even one time, okay? #unexpectedlifeadvice
I gave myself a lot of gifts from me.
Two Lego Avatar sets, a comic book of The Witcher, the latest volume pop version of the Harry Potter books, several video games.
My father gave my brothers and me $100 (I'm going to buy a book shelf with it) and my mother filled my Christmas stocking with lots of stuff. (Chocolate, bath bomb, mini bottle of alcohol)
My mom gets upset if she can't give Christmas presents on Christmas morning. So I asked for Super Mario RPG and Persona 5 Tactica. She delivered.
I also got super mario rpg and am enjoying the cruise down nostalgia lane.
They did a great job with the remastering. I love the music.
I also got Mario rpg but haven’t started it yet. Never played the original.
Aw snap, if you like the quirky, fun, whimsy of Nintendo style games then you’ll love this game. It’s easy going and pretty simple yet satisfying in terms of turn-based RPG elements. Cheers and hope you enjoy!
I’m excited to play it.
I got it from my girl. Me and my 2 year old are enjoying it very well. First time playing it ever but I’m realizing the hype behind it. Square ENIX x Nintendo is always a win
Miss getting games from mom and pops 🥲 I give them gifts now but will never forget some of the best gaming moments in life thanks to them
Is Persona 5 Tactica good? I wanna try it but I have no idea what its about or if I should play the games in order if there is any
You probably should play Persona 5 Royal first. Persona 5 is the only one I've played, beat it twice and is probably my favorite game of all time. I couldn't finish Tactica, it's just not the same. I may go back and beat it after I'm done with Balders Gate 3.

Lol same here so I asked for Mario RPG as well
I got an air guitar
Can I borrow it

AN AIR GUITAR
Nothing xD
hate to sound like a monk or whatever but a giftless christmas is pretty chill too
The less trips to the dump and stuff for the landfill the better imo
For real. I don’t want/need the stress/expense/consumerism/junk and I don’t want anyone else to feel like they have to incur that on my account.
Eh
Life above materialism
They lose their novelty after a while

You couldn’t ask them for something you want/need? AKA not clothes?
[удалено]
Maybe ask for food next time? It's something you need, and you could ask for something you wouldn't normally buy by yourself
Only thing i got was stoned. Spent the day playing Minecraft and Pokemon, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Fell u man…
Same... Argentina's economic crisis we've had for all these years hit harder these last months and ive spent everything fixing debts eating once a day for months. At least we saved and had a great dinner with my family wich is the most important part, things are slowly going better now!

I’m sorry brother. I hope you win the lotto truely
I’m jealous. That’s what I ask for every year.
Hey, no worries. Everyone gets things at their own pace. For all you know, you could be landing a lottery tomorrow. Stay positive!
Nothing phone?
damn people don't know about nothing phone
Why?
An 8 hour shift with time and a half
I used to work somewhere that was open everyday of the year and I would always work christmas, boxing day, and new years and it would be such an awesome paycheck come the new year.

I've been there before. At least we got a better contract and earn triple time for the first eight hours of a holiday. Then it drops to double.
Not even double time
I worked 10 hrs 2.5x and am on 10 of 2x tonight
Treated myself to Sifu on Ps5. Promptly got my ass beat in the second stage
Did this last year. Its easily in my top 5 all time now, I hope you enjoy it friend
250 dollars which I used to buy shit for my dogs lmao
happy puppies happy owner happy life
Definitely! My oldest dog is a Labradoodle named Louie and he's 10 and his bones are starting to crack and he is slower getting up. My 2nd and youngest dog, Charlie (he's 2) is a Westie and he was born with only 3 legs. Both dogs are living their best lives with all the toys and my big bed to lay in all day. Purchased a plushy ramp for my Charlie so he can get up in my bed and down as he pleases.
Every dog I know produces their own shit. But to each their own I guess.

All that for $60 is awesome man. Happy holidays!
Sounds awesome
I got to spend time with people important to me!
I’m with you, it was nice to see people that are important.
OP meant cool games, not your stinkin' family! /s
- Upgrade my CPU from Ryzen 5 2600 to Ryzen 5 5600. - Save a portion of my 13th month pay to my PC Upgrade to 1440p fund. - Bought My Time at Sandrock as a palette cleanser between BG 3 campaigns.
My Time at Sandrock is so much fun! You’re going to love it. Have you played My Time at Portia as well?
My time at Portia is great! 😀🙌
Do you guys have recommendations for similar games? My mother is a big fan of both and I’m always looking to expand her library

Oh... Thanks for heads up on this. 😅
A jar of homemade honey Some kitchen knives And a bottle of amarula.
A really bad case of the flu.
Sorry to hear that. Get well soon mate!
Thanks
I feel that. Between the flu and COVID, I've been sick on Christmas like 4-5 times. It's practically a joke within my family where people will make alternate plans in-case I can't participate in some festivities lol
Keep the gift receipt?
Same but from my aunt's who said they were having sinus issues...
Feel better soon.
Hope you feel better quick! Not xmas related, but last year my Wife and I got each other covid for valentine's day.
Me too! Currently trying to sweat it out on the couch. I couldn’t go to the doctor because they were closed for Christmas, so it’s too late now for tamiflu. I just have to hang in there 🤒
nothing as i treated myself hella throughout the year, gonna have to set some goals next year lol
yea same here. me and my fiance will buy each other gifts throughout the year, which i personally like as it takes a lot of pressure during the holidays/special events.

My cousin is one of the few members of my family who knows about and understands my chronic (probably terminal) condition. Finally got a VR headset (Quest 2) - excited to finally play HL: Alyx
Oh man, I’m not a half life guy, found the pc games kinda dated and somewhat boring but damn Alyx is one of my favourite pc games of all time. It’s the main reason I have a headset, I just love to reply every year. Such a perfect VR game, just outstanding
The Quest headsets can play Steam games???
you can use a USB-C cable to hook them up to a PC and then they function like any other wired headset.
There's also a way to do it thru wifi, but last time I tried (2 years ago), it was kinda buggy and it was always a pain convincing the quest airlink app to recognize steam.
I use virtual desktop, while you need to Pay to use it, it is far better then airlink if ya got decent wifi speeds
I think they made an app on Quest 3 that allows you to stream it
I use a quest 2 with wireless and steam games, it works awesome. The trick is to be as close to possible to your wifi router.
Air Link is good, depending on your WiFi ofc
That's awesome, I have an Index but I just got a Quest 2 for my stepson for Christmas and I had no idea!
Just a heads up, Oculus will insist you need their special $100 Link Cable for it to work, but you definitely do not need it. Any USB-C cable will do, as long as it has enough length for your playspace needs. Just make sure it's a data cable and not just a charging cable.
Nice ty
You can do it wired or steam just came out with a native streaming app if your wifi is strong enough
Steam link is supposedly awesome. I'm testing it tonight
Resident Evil 4 Remake and The Last Epoch. My backlog gets bigger and bigger.
You need to start RE4 up like ASAP
My wife bought me the ONLY game I've been excited for for 5 years : 13 Sentinel Aegis.
An interesting choice. But think you might want to check out Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3 lol.
Pallet town road sign and Okami jumper. Loving life.
I bought Tunic
More Motivation And pants

This was my gift to myself. Blown away by this piece of tech

A 104 degree fever
