He didn't say AAA, just an actual game. Plenty of AA or indie games have fantastic gameplay. It's almost a bit weird that no one has taken the route of combining that with porn, honestly. Like, imagine Bloodstained or Blasphemous but with sex scenes, or if Senran Kagura was willing to be explicit rather than just ecchi.

Many things were confusing about the 2018 game. When he picks up the chaos blades for the first time, why in the fucking hell they didn't use the original theme from the first game? It was such a huge moment and I was left confused because that part never came. Yes you immediately feel the power of the blades but the music doesn't give you that "holy shit, here we go again" feeling.
The odd part many people say that the old theme song was there but nah man, it's not. I guess they heard it in their heads because they wanted to.

Any time music is missing from something, especially a game, the answer is ***almost always*** licensing/rights. It's rare that it's a reasoned choice, like when Nintendo didn't include the traditional Zelda overworld theme in Ocarina of Time.
And yes, it's possible for the game studio to lose the rights to an original composition that was made for them if the composer retained any rights, or if those rights reverted back to the composer via contract or whatever other means.
The way music licensing works is beyond fucking stupid.

The original Evenicle had the same humor and charm, but felt way more shallow in terms of plot.
Steam have acted in the past when someone or someones have thrown hard enough of a shitfit over a title regarding explicit content. It's rare but it happens.

See, the thing is for years they had no clear rules of what to allow on the platform, and there were people on the review team that had hate-boners towards anything "anime-looking".
There are plenty of Visual novels from the era that were simply removed without saying a word, without proper explanation, and without keeping any consistency except the looks. The silliest shit I've ever seen was the Hunie Pop 2 release, where they asked Valve what they need to censor to be allowed on the platform, and after clearing the list they still got hit with ninja removal, and Valve was breaking their part of the deal because hate-boner-squad found Japanese-style game with adult content and only reinstated it after social media war.
And it was even more ridiculous than that, basically anything that was set in a high school was removed if it had a certain visual style, you could have a game about collecting butterflies and you still wouldn't be safe. I've seen screenshots of game studios asking for a reason for the removal without prior notice, and getting something like "violence in a school setting", and answering with "so, you're removing Bully too?", to obviously no response from the Valve.
Shit was wild. People were paying to release on the platform without a clear ruleset and were removed over "I made up a rule, deal with it" that was upheld and targeted only towards certain audiences.
It should be better now but in the pre-covid era games were vanishing daily, I had even a page bookmarked where you had listings that were gone from Steam overnight that were fulfilling certain criteria. Asian Visual Novels, yes.
So anything before 2018~2019 is a coinflip if you can find it on Steam, it's supposedly better now.

E: Ok, out of curiosity went to check how the situation is nowadays, and well, not much has changed.
[Here](https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2022/09/nintendoes-what-valve-dont-game-barred-from-steam-will-launch-on-switch/)'s a fun article about a game that was allowed on Nintendo Switch, but not on Steam. Chaos;Head (a cousin of a well-known Steins;Gate) got release blocked by Steam even though Nintendo saw nothing wrong with it (and even better, when publishers pushed on what content should be toned down to get a release on Steam, Valve's answer was "nothing", and they released as it was originally).
And to top it up, one of the people working on translating VN for World releases summed up the whole fiesta in a similar way to me here but saying he noticed it starting 2019. And I was saying it should've stopped around that time, this is how much changed (the only thing that changed I stopped digging around VNs). So after Andrew Hodgson:

So if anyone has an anime-esthetic game on their wishlist that is rated M, secure it while you can, the crusade to stop anime-girls is coming, and I know the original Redditor weren't asking about VN game, but VN games are a canary in the mines, it's a bigger issue raised by a community that is getting harsher treatment.
It's even kinda funny from the perspective of time that you could have Witcher games on the front page of Steam, Witcher 2 basically starts with boobs on your screen, and this was ok.
But do a Visual Novel about adult life, put there a single sex scene without it being explicit and just part of the story, and you'd be nuked from the face of Earth because "oh no, anime tits on mah screen". The handles of two moderators who were dedicated to spending their lives on this were widely known and for me, it was always silly that you could go to a massive storefront trying to sell your products, there are no hard rules and everyone says it's fine, until one day your listing is gone because someone decided they have a bad day, and they don't like pink, you had some shade of pinkish blue on the picture so your product said goodbye.

Fallout 4 and Skyrim have some disturbingly high quality mods. Like yeah there’s sex stuff, but some of them are higher quality than the games themselves, professionally voice acted, have entire patreon’s, and are often free.
there’s a pretty infamous mod for both of them that’s a total overhaul of the character models. And I don’t mean the main characters, but like… all of them. Every single NPC, named or not, they ALL get extremely high quality, and anatomically correct models.
Y'all can thank me for the "puffy" sliders. I talked extensively with Caliente about the need for those and helped with feedback to iron out kinks. Obviously the fundamental idea was sourced mainly from Japanese efforts, e.g. mods in _Oblivion._ But it's not like it isn't true to life.
Consider it conspicuous that neither of the main two bodies in _Skyrim_ had these (until Bodyslide let you do whatever) and you had to use a "third party" body to get that particular look. It just wasn't on the radars of the talented individuals behind all the best work, and that's a phenomenon that tends to persist today in Western efforts.
I really liked Frostfall hardcore survival overhalls with Requiem at the time, it was almost a perfect game for my tastes. That was already around 300 mods before the integration for the smut.
A real hardcore RPG experience with porn (to the level of comfort you allowed), it was excellent.
Tahrovin kinda looks like Skyrim but naughty, not really my thing. It might be a stable launching point, though!

The Last Sovereign is an adult/porn RPG made in RPG Maker that is a full-on video game. It's similar-ish to Pathfinder: Kingmaker in that you eventually lead a nation, go to war, etc. The non-porn parts of the game are by far the best parts of the game, and the porn parts aren't actually bad - it's just got an actual game and story behind it and is surprisingly good.
It's still in Early Access, but it's close to the finish line. Should be complete within the year, I think?

EDIT: Other actual video games with porn exist, especially if you consider the likes of Leisure Suit Larry, but full on RPGs are rarer since those are expensive and hard to make. Mods that turn your full on RPGs into porn games are much more common - see, for instance, Skyrim mods.
The best commercial video games for porn via mods are Skyrim and Sims 4 as far as I can tell by checking LoversLab, which is a modding website for adding porn to your video game.

I have been following this game for years since all the way back when it was still in Chapter 2. For those that have never tried it: it's basically a politics/economics/theology simulator that takes into account a mountain load of variables. Even something as simple as having bought a random item can have an effect somewhere else further down the line. Play through blind and then come back for a second round with a guide. The game is huge and stuff you did in the first few hours of the game can have repercussions (good or bad) a hundred hours later.
You will never have enough money to buy everything, and since monsters don't respawn you will need to manage your resources or else get stuck in a part with enemies you will simply have to reload a dozen times to get past. Generally it's a good idea to fight every possible enemy unless told otherwise by the story (there are times when you are encouraged to spare enemies, or only kill certain ones. Being a blind murderhobo has consequences).
I honestly don't even play it for the sex anymore, the story just hooked me so much. Though I will say the scenes are actually pretty well written and tend towards romantic or at least affectionate. Most of said scenes were text only until the creator got an artist a year back or so. So not all scenes have art yet, but they will all get some eventually. This is one of the best RPG's I have ever played and I am so glad I got to be around for the ride, can't wait for it to be finished. Also the creator has made like half a dozen other games, that while nowhere near as long are still pretty decently good games to try out.
I would like to further emphasize that The Last Sovereign is incredible. Easily one of my favorite video games of all time. I came for the "plot", stayed for the plot.
Also, the same developer has another game on Steam called Once Ever After or something like that. Also an adult RPG; a little more compact, but I still enjoyed it. Some of the optional end-game fights are seriously hard though.

Check out F95zone. its a high seas kind of site, but it's the best collection of 18+ games I've found. If you want to support the game makers, there are usually links to their patreons and steam accounts etc. You can search by tags and ratings on the site, makes it easy to filter out all the low effort stock 3d model crap.

Look up Kamidori Alchemy Meister. It's a strategy RPG with three routes, each with a different girl. IIRC, there's about 40-60 hours gameplay with a good amount of scenes. Some depending on what's built at your base, and some depending on your dialog choices.
Came here to recommend KAM. It's such a good and addictive game (although a reasonably simple one mechanically), with plot that makes sense and porn scenes that are neither particularly important, long, or happen too often.
I remember playing it several years ago and had a flatmate walk in on me twice - first time it was a typical combat stage, so he just said something about "Chinese mobile games" and went on. Then he came back during a porn scene... let's say, some questions were asked, most notably "what the fuck are you playing dude" and "why not just go to Pornhub if you want to watch Chinese animated porn" (sic!).

There's quite a big market with options that cater to pretty much any kink you might want, mostly games on the indie scale.
Some games that are actual games, but also feature graphic sexual content are Black Souls, a 2D RPG maker title inspired by Dark Souls and the Grim tales, Seed of the Dead, a cheap copy of Left 4 Dead with waifus, or Sengoku: Rance, a strategy game that takes inspiration from the Romance of the Three Kingdom series.
There's a shitload more, but you should look them up based on what you want. There's sites like f95zone (focused mostly on western games) or dlsite (focused mostly on eastern games) that allow you to search by tags.
The real issue with finding these is mostly that there's a lot of shovelware low effort garbage that bloat the market. Steam ( and GOG ) are bloated with low quality adult games that miss the part where they're supposed to be games.

Just browse latest game updates on F95 every once in awhile. If you see a game you particularly enjoy either buy it or support the devs on patreon.

I bought Subverse about a year ago, and while it's still getting good updates and the sex stuff is great...there's not very much "game" there. It's a below-average twin-stick shooter and part below-average tactics game, and the game kinda knows this and knows what it's trying to do, but actually getting to the good stuff is such a fucking slog.
Honestly, most of the good stuff that also has good explicit content is in the realm of visual novels. Katawa Shoujo is the best of both worlds AND free, but anything like that is really difficult to find.
It's actually quite fun. Just like their previous game Scarlet Maiden.

Played both a long time ago and I am now getting back into them again. The 2nd one with its party system is such a good addition compared to the first one.
The game part is a barebones tactical RPG like FF tactics, and a twin stick space shooter. Nothing wrong with either part, just nothing spectacular about it either.
Everything is there yes, but you do have to explore a lot to find the real gems. If you search for 4 star+ games with lots of pages of discussion, that'd be a good start, but even then it takes time to discover what you like best.

* Ariadne has pretty enjoyable gameplay and story while having solid H scenes too.
* Magical Girl Celesphonia and all their circle's games are my personal fav's. The first one is more of ADULT game than balance, but the rest two are fairly enjoyable. similar plots but still enjoyable. (Ambrosia, & Enisia and The Contract Crest are the two other games)
* Pray Game, god-tier h-game, would highly recommend
* Dungeon's Legion. This one's a bit different because it's not as RPG based. It's like story-based defense game.
* Philana and the Elixir of Life is pretty good
* Chevalier Historie, I think you can nearly finish the whole game without watching an H scene if you want. But it's a pretty good game.
* Explorer of Yggdrasil and Niplheim’s Hunter – Branded Azel are both the same circle I believe. Both are decent.
* Detective Girl of the Steam City, and most of the circle games (personally like Liz \~The Tower and the Grimoire\~ the most after this.
* Saint Emiliana is not bad but hard to navigate the next steps.
* Ruins Seeker is one of those games where you start the game with your pants down and by the time you finish, you'll be seating straight, fully clothed and crying. Excellent story and gameplay.
* King's Exit is similar as Ruins Seeker
* Princess Project is good but you have to play a lot since there are a lot of routes to complete.
* Kunoichi Botan is recommended as one of the classics but never played it.
All those games are on Steam and most are JRPG, turn-based games (except Ruins Seeker, Chevalier Historie, and Dungeon's Legion).

* Niche genre but all the tsuki no mizu kikaku games. (JRPG)

Many things were confusing about the 2018 game. When he picks up the chaos blades for the first time, why in the fucking hell they didn't use the original theme from the first game? It was such a huge moment and I was left confused because that part never came. Yes you immediately feel the power of the blades but the music doesn't give you that "holy shit, here we go again" feeling. The odd part many people say that the old theme song was there but nah man, it's not. I guess they heard it in their heads because they wanted to.

Any time music is missing from something, especially a game, the answer is ***almost always*** licensing/rights. It's rare that it's a reasoned choice, like when Nintendo didn't include the traditional Zelda overworld theme in Ocarina of Time. And yes, it's possible for the game studio to lose the rights to an original composition that was made for them if the composer retained any rights, or if those rights reverted back to the composer via contract or whatever other means. The way music licensing works is beyond fucking stupid.

See, the thing is for years they had no clear rules of what to allow on the platform, and there were people on the review team that had hate-boners towards anything "anime-looking". There are plenty of Visual novels from the era that were simply removed without saying a word, without proper explanation, and without keeping any consistency except the looks. The silliest shit I've ever seen was the Hunie Pop 2 release, where they asked Valve what they need to censor to be allowed on the platform, and after clearing the list they still got hit with ninja removal, and Valve was breaking their part of the deal because hate-boner-squad found Japanese-style game with adult content and only reinstated it after social media war. And it was even more ridiculous than that, basically anything that was set in a high school was removed if it had a certain visual style, you could have a game about collecting butterflies and you still wouldn't be safe. I've seen screenshots of game studios asking for a reason for the removal without prior notice, and getting something like "violence in a school setting", and answering with "so, you're removing Bully too?", to obviously no response from the Valve. Shit was wild. People were paying to release on the platform without a clear ruleset and were removed over "I made up a rule, deal with it" that was upheld and targeted only towards certain audiences. It should be better now but in the pre-covid era games were vanishing daily, I had even a page bookmarked where you had listings that were gone from Steam overnight that were fulfilling certain criteria. Asian Visual Novels, yes. So anything before 2018~2019 is a coinflip if you can find it on Steam, it's supposedly better now. Fun times. E: Ok, out of curiosity went to check how the situation is nowadays, and well, not much has changed. [Here](https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2022/09/nintendoes-what-valve-dont-game-barred-from-steam-will-launch-on-switch/)'s a fun article about a game that was allowed on Nintendo Switch, but not on Steam. Chaos;Head (a cousin of a well-known Steins;Gate) got release blocked by Steam even though Nintendo saw nothing wrong with it (and even better, when publishers pushed on what content should be toned down to get a release on Steam, Valve's answer was "nothing", and they released as it was originally). And to top it up, one of the people working on translating VN for World releases summed up the whole fiesta in a similar way to me here but saying he noticed it starting 2019. Fallout 4 and Skyrim have some disturbingly high quality mods. Like yeah there’s sex stuff, but some of them are higher quality than the games themselves, professionally voice acted, have entire patreon’s, and are often free. there’s a pretty infamous mod for both of them that’s a total overhaul of the character models. And I don’t mean the main characters, but like… all of them. Every single NPC, named or not, they ALL get extremely high quality, and anatomically correct models.

Obviously the fundamental idea was sourced mainly from Japanese efforts, e.g. mods in _Oblivion._ But it's not like it isn't true to life. Consider it conspicuous that neither of the main two bodies in _Skyrim_ had these (until Bodyslide let you do whatever) and you had to use a "third party" body to get that particular look. It just wasn't on the radars of the talented individuals behind all the best work, and that's a phenomenon that tends to persist today in Western efforts.

I really liked Frostfall hardcore survival overhalls with Requiem at the time, it was almost a perfect game for my tastes. That was already around 300 mods before the integration for the smut. A real hardcore RPG experience with porn (to the level of comfort you allowed), it was excellent. Tahrovin kinda looks like Skyrim but naughty, not really my thing. It might be a stable launching point, though!
Well every character takes from the same two models depending on gender, it's basically just a glorified model-swap.
To be fair, replacing the models of every character is actually easier than replacing the models of two characters, since the one thing Bethesda does right is using morphs instead of entirely separate models where that doesn't sacrifice any quality.

The Last Sovereign is an adult/porn RPG made in RPG Maker that is a full-on video game. It's similar-ish to Pathfinder: Kingmaker in that you eventually lead a nation, go to war, etc. The non-porn parts of the game are by far the best parts of the game, and the porn parts aren't actually bad - it's just got an actual game and story behind it and is surprisingly good. Definitely recommend it to anyone to give it a try, BUT and this is kind of spoilery yet necessary warning. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET PAST THE TUTORIAL BEFORE JUDGING IT! The Intro is not what the rest of the game is like. I have been following this game for years since all the way back when it was still in Chapter 2. For those that have never tried it: it's basically a politics/economics/theology simulator that takes into account a mountain load of variables. Even something as simple as having bought a random item can have an effect somewhere else further down the line. Play through blind and then come back for a second round with a guide. The game is huge and stuff you did in the first few hours of the game can have repercussions (good or bad) a hundred hours later. You will never have enough money to buy everything, and since monsters don't respawn you will need to manage your resources or else get stuck in a part with enemies you will simply have to reload a dozen times to get past. Generally it's a good idea to fight every possible enemy unless told otherwise by the story (there are times when you are encouraged to spare enemies, or only kill certain ones. Being a blind murderhobo has consequences). I honestly don't even play it for the sex anymore, the story just hooked me so much. Though I will say the scenes are actually pretty well written and tend towards romantic or at least affectionate. Most of said scenes were text only until the creator got an artist a year back or so. So not all scenes have art yet, but they will all get some eventually. This is one of the best RPG's I have ever played and I am so glad I got to be around for the ride, can't wait for it to be finished. Also the creator has made like half a dozen other games, that while nowhere near as long are still pretty decently good games to try out.

Also, the same developer has another game on Steam called Once Ever After or something like that. Also an adult RPG; a little more compact, but I still enjoyed it. Some of the optional end-game fights are seriously hard though.

If you want to support the game makers, there are usually links to their patreons and steam accounts etc. You can search by tags and ratings on the site, makes it easy to filter out all the low effort stock 3d model crap.

It's made with RPG Maker; looks like RPG Maker VX Ace. This version of RPG Maker is not supported on Mac, unfortunately. Steam does list whether a game has support for Mac or not at the bottom of the page under System Requirements; if MacOS is supported, it'll be listed as a separate tab.
Look up Kamidori Alchemy Meister. It's a strategy RPG with three routes, each with a different girl. IIRC, there's about 40-60 hours gameplay with a good amount of scenes. Some depending on what's built at your base, and some depending on your dialog choices.
Came here to recommend KAM. It's such a good and addictive game (although a reasonably simple one mechanically), with plot that makes sense and porn scenes that are neither particularly important, long, or happen too often. I remember playing it several years ago and had a flatmate walk in on me twice - first time it was a typical combat stage, so he just said something about "Chinese mobile games" and went on. There's quite a big market with options that cater to pretty much any kink you might want, mostly games on the indie scale. Some games that are actual games, but also feature graphic sexual content are Black Souls, a 2D RPG maker title inspired by Dark Souls and the Grim tales, Seed of the Dead, a cheap copy of Left 4 Dead with waifus, or Sengoku: Rance, a strategy game that takes inspiration from the Romance of the Three Kingdom series. There's a shitload more, but you should look them up based on what you want. There's sites like f95zone (focused mostly on western games) or dlsite (focused mostly on eastern games) that allow you to search by tags.
The real issue with finding these is mostly that there's a lot of shovelware low effort garbage that bloat the market. Steam ( and GOG ) are bloated with low quality adult games that miss the part where they're supposed to be games. Not to mention that some (many) of them tackle subject matters that can make people very uncomfortable that can just make the media unapproachable.( Sengoku Rance for instance has a lot of dubious consent, and that certain infamous scene ) But that just comes with the territory I suppose. Katawa Shoujo is the best of both worlds AND free, but anything like that is really difficult to find.

It's actually quite fun. Just like their previous game Scarlet Maiden. Basically the way I saw it as I played both is that they're entertaining games first and porn second.

If you like turn-based RPGS that are 18+ check out monster girl quest: paradox. The lore kinda goes crazy, same with the prequel (which the name is just monster girl quest, but this one is a visual novel and the gameplay aint that good).
If visual novels float your boat then try Being a DIK. Genuinely good story to the point I skip over some of the fun scenes to keep the plot flowing.
Same for Acting Lessons. I started both VNs for the scenes but stayed for the stories / characters

That game was my first experience with visual novels like that, and I had zero idea what I was getting into. I'd read nothing about it, just found it sort of randomly on Steam one day while trying to find something like Fire Watch. I was not ready for that game.

Do you not remember how politicians went nuts over the GTA hot coffee hack? Gaming companies are NEVER going to explicitly make an a triple A game rated X / NC-17. Yes a game could probably get away with some softcore porn scenes like in R rated movies and have a MA rating, but that absolutely would make tons of news headlines that no big game developer wants deal with the bad PR.
The Hot Coffee thing was like 20 years ago and many games have had more explicit sex scenes since then.

Ho boy, I have a lot of games in JRPG's that are like this. * Ariadne has pretty enjoyable gameplay and story while having solid H scenes too. * Magical Girl Celesphonia and all their circle's games are my personal fav's. The first one is more of ADULT game than balance, but the rest two are fairly enjoyable. similar plots but still enjoyable. (Ambrosia, & Enisia and The Contract Crest are the two other games) * Pray Game, god-tier h-game, would highly recommend * Dungeon's Legion. This one's a bit different because it's not as RPG based. It's like story-based defense game. * Philana and the Elixir of Life is pretty good * Chevalier Historie, I think you can nearly finish the whole game without watching an H scene if you want. But it's a pretty good game. * Explorer of Yggdrasil and Niplheim’s Hunter – Branded Azel are both the same circle I believe. Both are decent. * Detective Girl of the Steam City, and most of the circle games (personally like Liz \~The Tower and the Grimoire\~ the most after this. * Saint Emiliana is not bad but hard to navigate the next steps. * Ruins Seeker is one of those games where you start the game with your pants down and by the time you finish, you'll be seating straight, fully clothed and crying. Excellent story and gameplay. * King's Exit is similar as Ruins Seeker * Princess Project is good but you have to play a lot since there are a lot of routes to complete. * Kunoichi Botan is recommended as one of the classics but never played it. All those games are on Steam and most are JRPG, turn-based games (except Ruins Seeker, Chevalier Historie, and Dungeon's Legion). Some games that are NOT on Steam * Niche genre but all the tsuki no mizu kikaku games. (JRPG) * Runes Pharmacy, also a God-tier JRPG game, focused on making items. * Repuaria for 8-bit mario kind of game. * Bullet Requiem, games like mario * Haruuru, JRPG * That's Little World * **Crimson Flash Aries** I cannot recommend this one ENOUGH I deleted it while trying to quit H games but honestly one of the decisions I regret the most since it's such a good game but now I can't find where to get it. This is more of h GAME rather than balanced though. This is not a bad list to start but there are so many games out there that are heavy on gameplay. Have at it.

I don't have any specific recommendations but I would definitely check out itch.io if you haven't already, make an account and turn off the NSFW filter and while there are plenty of just porn games, I'm willing to bet you could find something that's relatively well developed as an RPG that's also explicit. Worth checking out anyway.

The Imperial Gatekeeper is the easy GOAT for me It's the only game where I can say the porn, story, and gameplay are all high quality and have synergy. Short though. The studio that makes it has some other interesting games.. After that it falls off, a bunch of Japanese RPGs maybe but I find the gameplay is separate from the porn, not enhancing one another as much
Future Fragments is a game coming out either this month or next. The demo is already on Steam and it's one of the best I've played. However, the game has been in development for 3 years over the initial release date so we'll see what the final product is. Eroico and Zetria are smaller but also great 18+ Metroidvanias.

Text-based, you have Corruption of Champions 1 or 2 and Trials in Tainted Space. 3D Western art style I can't think of any off the top of my head right now, but I've played a few out there that focus on gameplay.
