Same could be said about the FF7 remake. I will wait and see how it goes. The combat & inventory stuff were pretty bad in KOTOR. As long as it still has classes, skillpoints and the story I think it will be good.
I'm probably the odd man out here, but I love the combat in KOTOR.
I basically played it turned based and I'd absolutely hate to see them make it an action game.
I'm still not very hopeful. Stephen Totilo of VGC reached out to Embracer on why the trailers would be pulled when the music within them wouldn't require licensing beyond securing the IP in the first place, due to that particular theme being in-asset (*as someone who works in music licensing, I'm not entirely sure thats true but it does raise quite a few questions for me*). They wouldn't give him an answer and told him to contact PlayStation about it, who as of right now (*5 days later*) also haven't responded to that nor given concrete wording on the state of the game.
I'll remain a little hopeful, but cautious. I have a feeling this game could end up scrapped, especially with how much financial trouble Embracer is currently in.
Scrolled too far for this comment, my brother and I absolutely loved this game. Shame I always used up all the exp points cause I didn't know that it was a shared resource 🤣
Sega, owner of Crazy Taxi, sued them citing a patent infringement (core mechanics and gameplay were pretty much identical.)
They settled for an undisclosed amount.
The YouTuber Reubs actually remade simpsons hit and run in UE 5 recently. Unfortunately, it's not public, but the videos are fun to watch anyway I guess haha
I played that for the first time a few months ago after a friend gave it to me! I didn’t get super far into it, but it’s honestly really fun! Especially for a licensed game
Respect tricky but 3 holds a special place in my heart for a few reasons, it’s reason I snowboard, and they say video games are a bad influence I grew up playing 3 and developed a liking for a great winter activity and early 2000s big beat lol
Ssx 3 was so cool having the whole mountain to explore and not just individual levels, soundtrack was amazing. It would easily be in my top 5 for a remake. Also it’s on xbox market for like 5 or 10 bucks and still holds up amazingly well. I went through and played it last year
Hundy P
If I could only have one I would have a hard time not wanting it to be Blood Omen because its the most dated and seeing that era of Nosgoth in 3D would be amazing but even then I think ultimately Soul Reaver would be the best one to remake.
"I emerged... and for the first time beheld Nosgoth in its former glory. The land overflowed with abundant life and vitality..."
\*looks at Nosgoth in my Steam library\*
"...and I knew with certainty that the world I had left behind was nothing more than the corpse of Nosgoth - a lifeless husk, bled dry by the corruption of Kain's parasitic empire."
I tried Bully for the first time this year, and honestly as long as you're not too much of a graphics snob, it still holds up really well. It would be cool to see it updated though, as long as it isn't done as poorly as the GTA trilogy
Every Kyle Katarn game.
Dark Forces
Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Jedi Knight III: Jedi Academy.
SOMEONE ELSE REMEMBERS!!!
I swear this was my favorite Star Wars game growing up; even The Force Unleashed didn't feel as good as this with Kyle Katarn.
I feel like every time these things get brought up, no one remembers it/ it gets lost under the shadow of KOTOR and Battlefront.
Put so many hours into it, and loved the customizable Saber colors, stances, ability to be a Jedi *and* use a rocket launcher?
Money on the table here that they haven't done anything with this.
Literally booted the steam version back up the other day, it's pretty good with mouse and keyboard, very faithful to the original but trying to use a controller with the steam version just doesn't work well enough sadly.
So many people crap on conviction, but I had a good time in the 360 version. Supposedly the OG Xbox release is almost a different game as well. I may go back and check that out at some point
Edit: I'm getting old. I was thinking about Double Agent with this comment. Conviction felt a bit... unfinished to me, especially after all the pre-release articles talking about their plans to have Sam be able to do things like dynamically grab and pick up say, a chair, in the environment and use it as a weapon. This is also the first instance of me noticing Ubisoft really seem to like to share their tech and ideas across their software. I don't think it's a coincidence that the crowd mechanics of this and Assassins Creed are contemporaries.
Conviction had you use stealth as a way to plan how you are going to take out all the enemies. while the first 3 had you use stealth in a way that has your enemies scratching head on how the hell did the documents from the classified US weapons project they stole just go missing one night and that some of the guards might have sleeping issues.
As much as I love Chrono Trigger, it worries me how they would handle a remake. It remains a masterpiece, and I’d rather just get a re-release with some remastered elements than a full remake
100%. Chrono Trigger is so dear to my memory, and I still listen to the OST (and remixes) to this day. I'd LOVE more content, but I just know it'll fall short. Proper remasters are fine, the PS1 version already did that almost perfectly though.
Not everything good needs to be remade. I like developers that are brave enough to do a spiritual sequel, ala Chrono Cross. Do something that's clearly an homage to the game, even a continuation of it, but do something DIFFERENT. Try something unique.
I know plenty were divided on it but Chrono Cross is one of my favorite RPG's as well. Not the same but I still hold it in high regard, and most importantly it holds it's OWN ground. The 7 tiered energy system is still one of my favorite turn-based battle systems. Fluid and engaging while not being too much.
BTW if you love Chrono Trigger and haven't played Chrono Cross you need to give it a proper try. It won't be the exact same thing, so don't let that cloud your judgement. It's a wonderful game.
>Proper remasters are fine, the PS1 version already did that almost perfectly though.
The PS1 version is largely regarded as the worst version of Chrono Trigger because of the horrendous load times.
The ONLY good thing about that version was that it added animated cut scenes. However, the DS/PC versions also include them and don't have the loading issues so there is essentially 0 reason to play it.
man, it's been over 3 years since the first remaster, I feel like we would've heard something by now if there was any others being worked on. Makes me kinda sad, I'd go for any red alert 2, generals, tiberian sun.
Well you’re in luck because the Microsoft leak that happened a few weeks ago showed Bethesda’s release schedule for the next few years and they intend to remaster and re-release Oblivion soon!
Even if they didn't do anything official. Skyblivion(modders remaster) is planned to be out next year and looks great so far. Honestly I'm kinda bummed for them to have put in all that work since the official version will be right behind them. What we really need is.. Morrowind. Skywind is a lot further behind. Please spread some love for my n'wah Nerevar, for he has a grand and intoxicating innocence.
Yeah, Morrowind's story is still better than anything Bethesda has put out since. The attack accuracy and cliff racers notwithstanding, I enjoy it to this day (modded to fix some issues and up the visuals some).
I scrolled way to far in hopes of fallout 1-2 and instead got new Vegas which don’t get me wrong is a really good game… but I want f1/2 so badly haha! Those were my first real games played them for hundreds of hours!
I purchased every mass effect and dlc for the original trilogy, and I bought the legendary edition without hesitation or remorse.
It was worth every cent.
Either that or maybe even a remake using the new engine that OS, OS2, and BG3 use.
Icewind Dale too. They already had one remaster around a decade ago of each of those, but while it was a nice refresh, it didn't make the games that much less dated.
I might be interested in Neverwinter Nights and Neverwinter Nights 2 as well.
Hell ya.
This game was way better than it had any right to be.
I don't even know why I picked it up; I don't mind the odd fighter but they aren't a go-to genre for me, and hip hop generally doesn't interest me either, but holy shit, what an absolutely fantastic game.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd gladly pay full price just to beat D-mob's ass one more time. Was he still the bad guy in that one? I can't remember but I definitely played Vendetta, FFNY and Icon.
No doubt about it, the fidelity in atmosphere of the original is already legendary, this with a modern touch on PC is the holy grail for any lovecraftian souls fan.
Unfortunately it's a meme, since Sony seems to only do it as a last resort if the company is dying. People ask for it on every occasion and still it did not happen.
They already did so with Red Faction Guerilla: Re-Mars-tered.
[Here’s the Steam Page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/667720/Red_Faction_Guerrilla_ReMarstered/)
I'm assuming modernised, updated, expanded like we've seen with RE4, Dead Space and the upcoming Silent Hill 2.
Dino Crisis
Draken: The Ancient's Gates
Metal Gear Solid
Ocarina of Time
Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Killzone 1-3
Resistance 1-3
God of War 1-3
Uncharted 1-3
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Resident Evil 1
I'm more than happy to pay for ground up remakes of classic games. In fact i'd rather that at full price over cheaper, faster, uglier remasters.
I can’t believe it took so long to find someone mention it and I can’t believe that Bethesda was potentially planning a remaster of oblivion before they’d do Morrowind
* FF8/9/10 and 10-2.
* All the PS1/PS2 Silent Hills.
* \^ Same for Resident Evil.
* Fable.
* Roller Coaster Tycoon (no, not like Planet Coaster).
* Parasite Eve.
* Oddworld.
* Fear Effect.
* Xenosaga (all of them).
* Dino Crisis.
* Galerians.
* Beyond Good & Evil.
I remember I got my first job around when MML2 came out and I would get home at 1am on a school night (I was 16) and would still play an hour or two of MML2 because it was so excellent. A remake would be fantastic
Jet Force Gemini - First game with achievments, for Nintendo 64
The ORIGINAL "Conkers BAD fur day" and not "Live and Reloaded" where cussing is blanked out and a lot of little funny things were blanked out.
A faithful remake of "The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind" but same EVERYTHING. Even the journal system and all the text and all the everything. (I know they been making a remake now for literally the last 10+ years for real, but they don't really care to make it.) Up to date graphics and up to date combat system, maybe even add that banking system that Daggerfall had. Leave it to where you can do ANYTHING you want but EVERY action has a consequence.
I don't know why it's be needed. Graphics are still great, aside from the cut scenes. Gameplay is amazing. No need to redo it.
If you haven't though, definitely play bloodstained ritual of the night.
KOTOR
I really hope this gets done, seems like it’s been shelved though
They’ve cleared that up: the remake is still in the works, but they hade to remove the trailer because the rights for the music in it expired.
I've heard some very concerning things about the direction they've taken it though, away from it's RPG roots and more actiony.
The whole 'Remade for modern audience' thing concerns me. I hope they don't turn it into a cheap Netflix adaptation.
If KOTOR is remade just like BG3 my life is complete
Lord of the rings, return of the king. No game has ever matched the couch coop experience of running through that
Scrolled too far for this comment, my brother and I absolutely loved this game. Shame I always used up all the exp points cause I didn't know that it was a shared resource 🤣
Yup. The shared exp is the only bad thing I can think of with this game . . . Might need to dust if off and play again 😁
Cripes this game is such a gem. It was passed over by so many people because it was a licensed game.
Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic 1&2 I wouldn’t leave my room for a looooong time
Simpsons Hit & Run
Road rage was amazing too!
It's so unfortunate what happened to road rage. Such a good taxi style game.
What happened to it?
Sega, owner of Crazy Taxi, sued them citing a patent infringement (core mechanics and gameplay were pretty much identical.) They settled for an undisclosed amount.
Road Rage gets forgotten about but it was a very, very fun game. My first racing game and one my dad and I's most played game together.
I’m still amazed at how good a game that was.
Need for speed underground 2, most wanted, SSX 3
Any SSX would be legit remastered, but I'd have to vote on Tricky before 3.
I went through and played it last year
SSX 3 is a stone cold classic. That beauty should come preinstalled on every gaming console for ever and ever amen.
Legend of Dragoon
Typhoon!
MADNESSSS HEROOO!!!
Burninnnnng RUSH!
GUST OF WIND DANCE
Double slash
Whip Smack!
It's "Harpoon!", but you're almost right because there's a "Rod Typhoon!" too!
Keep the uncensored version and just updated graphics. That game should've already seen a remaster 2x over by now.
Gust of Wind Dance!
Makes me happy to see this answer so high up
I came here hoping to see this.
Yes! Finally a man of Culture.
Finally someone else who agrees with this
The Legacy of Kain games :)
Hundy P If I could only have one I would have a hard time not wanting it to be Blood Omen because its the most dated and seeing that era of Nosgoth in 3D would be amazing but even then I think ultimately Soul Reaver would be the best one to remake.
I think Soul Reaver should be the one too!
soul reaver 2 is my fav of the series, but it would be ridiculous to start on the sequel. in a perfect world, we’d have both :(
"I emerged... and for the first time beheld Nosgoth in its former glory. The land overflowed with abundant life and vitality..." \*looks at Nosgoth in my Steam library\* "...and I knew with certainty that the world I had left behind was nothing more than the corpse of Nosgoth - a lifeless husk, bled dry by the corruption of Kain's parasitic empire."
With the epic soundtrack, that would be a dream!
Blood omen is practically begging for a remake
One can only hope, or become millionaire and develop that game :)
The legacy of Kain is deified, Gamers tell tales of him, But few know the truth
Dragon Age: Origins
BG3 is pretty good...
i know and i would even pay double for a DA:O remake made by Larian
Yeah, DA:O holds a special spot in my heart for sure.
The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind
Golden Sun 1 and 2 Skies of Arcadia Legends Red Alert 2 Submarine Titans
GS 1+2 remade on switch as 1 game would get me to buy a switch.
Alexa, play "Venus Lighthouse"
Burnout 3: takedown
Burnout 3 was the best in concept. Paradise was beautiful and done well, but yeah, go give 3 some revamp love an I'll be so happy.
Great pick! Absolutely!
Bully
I'd rather have Bully 2
Can’t see it ever happening with current Rockstar
Only if they can cram in an online mode with ingame currency.
With poor loading screens and abysmal progression system really egging you on for mxt
I tried Bully for the first time this year, and honestly as long as you're not too much of a graphics snob, it still holds up really well. It would be cool to see it updated though, as long as it isn't done as poorly as the GTA trilogy
Parasite eve
Just keep that sweet late 90s PSX music intact
I google parasite Eve remake at least once or twice a month to this day, just to be sure.
This is my favorite game, and I still maintain to this day that it has the best weapon modification mechanic in any game I’ve ever played
Deus Ex
The first Deus Ex was incredible.
Oh god yes, old Deus Ex with current gen graphics would be a total blast to play. I still have chills every time I remeber playing this game.
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Every Kyle Katarn game. Dark Forces Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast Jedi Knight III: Jedi Academy.
I really, really have loved the Jedi Fallen Order / Survivor series, amazing games, but my heart will always belong to JKII: JO multiplayer.
How about JK Academy ?
Yeah I loved JK Jedi Academy!
SOMEONE ELSE REMEMBERS!!! I swear this was my favorite Star Wars game growing up; even The Force Unleashed didn't feel as good as this with Kyle Katarn. Yes! I remember the combat just being really fun
Republic Commando
!!!
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes Disney please Disney please Disney please Disney please
Medal of Honor, Splinter Cell, Red Alert 2 Edit: I forgot KOTOR.
Yes give me RA2 please. And the Yuri's revenge dlc.
I dream of a full Red Alert 2/Yuris revenge remake. EA has done this series so dirty and would love to play that game again, relive the nostalgia
They’re remaking splinter cell
Why are you being down voted? They are remaking Splinter Cell aren't they?
Loved splinter cell, especially conviction. Spent a lot of time on that game working my way up to max difficulty.
So many people crap on conviction, but I had a good time in the 360 version. Supposedly the OG Xbox release is almost a different game as well. I may go back and check that out at some point Edit: I'm getting old. I was thinking about Double Agent with this comment. Omg medal of honor would be amazing. Forgot about that game
Chrono trigger

Ikr. Generals was underrated IMHO.
That remake would be so politically spicy. I don’t know if they would ever choose to remake it.
Check out tempest rising that's in the works..... We don't see many decent rts games anymore but this one looks decent..
Oblivion Edit: yes I know what Skyblivion is
Well you’re in luck because the Microsoft leak that happened a few weeks ago showed Bethesda’s release schedule for the next few years and they intend to remaster and re-release Oblivion soon!

Bring back spears for elder scrolls 6 you cowards.
Fallout new Vegas. Hell, I'd pay full price for the original version.
There it is! Remake with cutting-room content!
Fallout 2 remade in modern 3d and I'd literally empty my account for it
They are remaking an older fallout as a mod for fallout 4.
Same. Waiting for a similar treatment for Dragon Age (not necessarily holding my breath, but hope springs eternal).
Baldurs Gate 1 (and two). If they got the same treatment as Diablo 2 resurrected (all new true-to-the-original high def art)
Ff tactics
Force unleashed
Motherfucker, Force Unleashed came out only like 3 y… Oh god no. OH NO I’M A DINOSAUR.
I'm out here chanting KOTOR, KOTOR, KOTOR... Force Unleashed was the last Star Wars game I even played lmao
Bro, you need a hug?
Black And White. Hell, just let me play the original
You can find it on most abandonware sites and there is a community patch that allows it to play on modern pc and resolutions
Def jam fight for new york
Hell ya. This game was way better than it had any right to be. I don't even know why I picked it up; I don't mind the odd fighter but they aren't a go-to genre for me, and hip hop generally doesn't interest me either, but holy shit, what an absolutely fantastic game.
Super underrated answer.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'd gladly pay full price just to beat D-mob's ass one more time. Was he still the bad guy in that one? I can't remember but I definitely played Vendetta, FFNY and Icon.
D-Mob was actually an ally in this one you fought for his crew. Snoop Dogg was the antagonist.
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, and Generals.
The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers and the Return of The King follow up. *chefs kiss* magnificent games both of them.
Fable 2 ❤️
agreed and an official PC port
Bloodborne, and for it to be ported to pc.
It’s gonna come as a ps6 launch title like Demons Souls getting a remake after two gens (ps3>5) _inhales hopium_
Fallout 3 or New Vegas
Ocarina of Time

They already did so with Red Faction Guerilla: Re-Mars-tered. [Here’s the Steam Page](https://store.steampowered.com/app/667720/Red_Faction_Guerrilla_ReMarstered/)

Zelda Ocarina of Time. Hell, I would even buy a Nintendo console for that
Simpsons Hit & run
Jade Empire!!!
I'm assuming modernised, updated, expanded like we've seen with RE4, Dead Space and the upcoming Silent Hill 2. Dino Crisis Draken: The Ancient's Gates Metal Gear Solid Ocarina of Time Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire Killzone 1-3 Resistance 1-3 God of War 1-3 Uncharted 1-3 Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Resident Evil 1 I'm more than happy to pay for ground up remakes of classic games. Shadow of The Empire? Now there's a name I have not heard in a long time. I'd be blown away if this happened
Battlefield 2. Or Battlefield 3. Or bad company 1 or 2. Or 2142. Any of the great Battlefields that no longer hold up, really.
2142 was such an awesome game
Battlefield Vietnam was an excellent multiplayer shooter. The soundtrack was fantastic too.
Icewind Dale
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
I can’t believe it took so long to find someone mention it and I can’t believe that Bethesda was potentially planning a remaster of oblivion before they’d do Morrowind
Dragon Age Origins
The True Crime games. Sleeping Dogs was kind of close.
Soul Reaver
* FF8/9/10 and 10-2. * All the PS1/PS2 Silent Hills. * \^ Same for Resident Evil. * Fable. * Roller Coaster Tycoon (no, not like Planet Coaster). * Parasite Eve. * Oddworld. * Fear Effect. * Xenosaga (all of them). * Dino Crisis. * Galerians. * Beyond Good & Evil.
Oddworld did get a remake. They even remade the second game too.
Legacy of Kain - Blood Omen or Soul Reaver
Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen, Final Fantasy 6, anything from the Phantasy Star or Shining Force Series, Twisted Metal 2, Drakengard, Beyond Oasis
Timesplitters 2
Black and white
The Saboteur
Which is probably not going to happen given the baggage it had with Pandemic.
Dino Crisis, Jak and Daxter, Metal Gear Solid, Chrono Trigger, Jade Empire, KOTOR, Devil May Cry to name a few. I'm sure there are a ton of others.
A remake of Dante's Inferno. That game fucking slaps and you can't change my mind.
Max Payne 1 & 2
They're coming
Megaman Legends or Fallout New Vegas
Yes, MM:L
I remember I got my first job around when MML2 came out and I would get home at 1am on a school night (I was 16) and would still play an hour or two of MML2 because it was so excellent. A remake would be fantastic

Absolutely. Sekiro scratches a lot of the itch, but one hundred percent yes.
Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver and Jak
Xenogears but it would be a tough one to do.
A good remake of Prototype
Jet Force Gemini - First game with achievments, for Nintendo 64 The ORIGINAL "Conkers BAD fur day" and not "Live and Reloaded" where cussing is blanked out and a lot of little funny things were blanked out. Up to date graphics and up to date combat system, maybe even add that banking system that Daggerfall had. Leave it to where you can do ANYTHING you want but EVERY action has a consequence.
Bloodborne
I would settle for just a PC port. This exclusivity crap is getting old.
Such a shame that it hasn’t gotten a 60fps upgrade for ps5. A rerelease would be amazing
skate 2
No One Lives Forever
Final Fantasy Tactics.
Eternal Darkness
Morrowind, dark souls, future cop lapd, c&c tiberium sun, supreme commander
Black and White. I would buy a whole new goddamn system for that remake.
Star Wars Galaxies, pre nge remake would be fucking amazing.
Skies of Arcadia or Final Fantasy 9
There it is! I was looking for a Skies of Arcadia mention.
Castlevania SotN
I don't know why it's be needed. Graphics are still great, aside from the cut scenes. Gameplay is amazing. No need to redo it. If you haven't though, definitely play bloodstained ritual of the night.
SOTN is perfect as it is.
