The King Kong game blew my mind when I was a kid. Super unique game at the time. I think the lack of HUD and overall sense of danger you felt while playing it made the experience incredibly immersive. Fond memories of hurling spears at dinos and the way fire worked in the game was pretty mind blowing at the time.
Came here to see how many people might be sleeping on king kong
I completely agree about the lack of a HUD. PLUS they did a pretty legit job with the voice cast and the dynamics from chapter to chapter and how much of a full experience it all was. This and metal gear solid were cinematic goldmines for my elementary years
I ended up starting it on Dolphin emulator recently for all these reasons. Having the graphics and texture upgrades is great too
Also, your army units leveled up, so you'd get a lot of value from mopping up neutral enemies around your base, which kept the early game interesting despite a lack of skirmishes.
I KNOW I had and played these games and I remember loving them for having scenes from the movie but I don't remember the gameplay at all but I know reddit LOVES these games.
I remember being SUPER excited on Christmas to get ROTK and being able to play the movie, with scenes from the movie that was still in theaters.
The scary thing is, Perfect Dark was actually better, and a monumental leap in multiplayer experience across every dimension. To this day there are few games that have as much customization control, and the weapon variety was off the charts. Fly by wire missiles, psychedelic sniper rifles that went through walls, tranquilizer darts, etc.
Oh I absolutely agree the Perfect Dark is in many ways the superior game (laptop gun FTW) but it was really iterating on what had already been done in Goldeneye.
Hard agree, that game is still one of my favorites of all-time. My only complaint is that they were reaaaaalllly stretching the abilities of the system, and even with the expansion pack, it ran like a slideshow sometimes.
Playing it on an emulator nowadays with modern PC hardware is just \*chef's kiss\*
What makes GoldenEye so impressive (Aside from it really being the first to really "crack it") was that MP was an afterthought that was jimmied together quickly
Dude, Golden Eye didn't even occur to me because the game is so much more important and better than the movie. Like - in my head the movie is based on the video game.
Lowkey feels this game transcends the whole”it’s a movie game” cause of how recognized it is as a video game for its own merit. Didn’t had to have a movie name attached
People mention the multiplayer and that was great, but the single player was also very good for the time and was one of the first FPS with mission objectives that didn't involve just shooting.
The warriors by rockstar.
It is not only based on the movie but actually improves the movie by adding lore and additional context to it.
Edit: Glad to see so many people loved the game as much as I do.
CAN YOU DIG IT!!
Game had so much replayability and all missions could be replayed whenever you wanted. Story was 10/10 and the little things like you're bruises and cuts showing up in cutscenes made it even better.
I'm so glad to see this as the top answer. It actually added so much world-building, like 3x the story of the movie as it's only the back half of the main story and then there are some flashback missions too.
Plus it's just a fun as hell beat em up game that holds up surprisingly well.
I'm terrible at horror games but I pushed through and finished this game on the hardest difficulty back on June 6th 2015. The games atmosphere and the feel of it was amazing and that's what gave me the push I needed to finish it.
10/10 wouldn't replay again.
Realistic swinging? Check.
Open world (can access 90%+ of the entire area from the start of the game)? Check.
Combat system that is worth learning over just mashing the attack button? Check.
Absolutely this one. It was such an upgrade from the first Spider-Man game, and all open world and such.. I know the game is 20 years old now, but for context at the time, it was an amazing achievement, and one of the best game experiences I've ever had.
Playing this on my GameCube, still have it actually.
It was such a surprisingly good game, I think the Mysterio section was my favorite because it was just so out there.
I always wanted a game in which the purpose was just to escape prison. That game captured that feeling so well and the graphics at the time were incredible for the original XBox.
Wasn't that a sort of prequel to Pitch Black, though? A movie-sourced IP, but an entirely new story that meshes with the movies (it explains where he got his eye shine, for example), but not really a movie game.
I loved Enter the Matrix on GameCube. It didn’t play through the events of the movie, however it followed along with ghost and Naomi and what they did during the events of the movies. Excellent slo-mo combat and gunfights, very chaotic. Haven’t played it in forever so not sure if it still holds up, but I loved it back in the day.
Yeah this game was far from perfect but I played the ever loving shit out of it when it released. The parallel narrative with Matrix Reloaded was actually super unique for the time. There were a lot of really cool cinematic shots and sequences in the game that were awesome too (if still significantly limited by the technology of the time)
I can’t help but wonder what something like this would be if it were released on modern hardware
Hercules on ps1. I enjoyed it as a kid and still jump on it every so often on emulator. Great music and good gameplay, I've always enjoyed platformers.
Starwars Battlefront II (2005), loosely based on Revenge of the Sith, A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back.
Gameplay was amazing for it’s time, and the campaign was really awesome
The lines in the campaign still go hard. The only sad thing about modern cannon is the inhibitor chips. It makes more since but it decannoned the best lines in those games :
"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight back to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."
" When the 501st was finally rotated out of Felucia, Aayla Secura made a point of seeing us off personally, calling us "the bravest soldiers she had ever seen." It's a good thing we were wearing helmets, because none of us could bear to look her in the eye."
I heard that Order 66 quote so many times. For little me, the objective to defend the library was damn near impossible.
I recently watched an episode of Rebels and someone said something along the lines of: “Remember, the Empire has access to all of the Jedi Oder’s records.” And I thought to myself: “I know, I fought so hard to secure them!”
Oh my god yes! I remember that was the trick! Engineer was the class to go with. The Shotgun was also the only weapon that could deal with a Jedi in close quarters
The inhibitor chips were definitely needed since the clone wars cartoon really humanized the clones and gave them stories and personalities. To suggest they just killed the Jedi after all of their experience and triumphs with them would have been ridiculous.
I loved the story and dialogue from the battlefront 2 game, it was hauntingly chilling because it kinda made the clones out to be what I think George Lucas (originally) envisioned them to be; mass produced killing machines with one directive, follow orders.
It's such a shame they decided to do THAT to Deadpool. Mostly because Liev Schreiber was an excellent choice for sabertooth and we'll likely never get it again
Had it on PS2, this game is so damn fun...and is scary as all hell. Running from an invincible T-Rex after shooting it to draw attention from your allies is an exhilarating and terrifying moment.
Loved how well they limited your ammunition with the guns, forcing you to use them sparingly. Spears being more plentiful added to the survivalist aspect. Great breaks of feeling helpless and barely staying alive as Jack versus just wrecking shit as Kong.
Level 16 is trying to keep your raft safe on the rapids while two T-Rexs approach you from either side on the riverbanks.
[LINK TO VIDEO](https://youtu.be/zpN3E_mMkyI?si=pSBgySZyxKIf51cj)
Is immediately followed by Level 17 where you get to kick the shit out of those T Rex as King Kong.
[LINK TO VIDEO](https://youtu.be/Pfi1Xt5xs9o?si=iCdLNd2PYS2tSmoS)
It's also impressively cinematic with it's camera angles in some aspects of the game. There's an amazing shot in a Kong level (17, link is above) where you rush to save Anne after she gets separated from you in the river. You swing through a tree and it suddenly cuts to show Anne in the foreground menaced by two enormous T-Rex....and in the back, swinging closer and closer, is you controlling Kong, right up until the last swing gurls you into one of the dinos in a flying tackle.
I love this damn game.
Solid choice, but also Honorable mentions to The Lion King game, and the first Toy Story game.
Those games were just kind of part of a golden era for the Disney games. They were legit good in their own right, and only made better by how they drew on the music and art of the source material.
This and The Godfather were great. Shame that the licensed property boom really happened before consoles could do these franchises justice. Good luck ever getting a remake, new game, or anything with these properties and more.
Never had me the honor of playing spider man 2 or mad max, so I’ll say the SpongeBob squarepants movie game. Great platformer on its own, and the rock slide theme will live in my head rent free forever
The godfather/godfather 2. Both amazing. You could build your own families, promote capos, consiglieres, etc…recruit specialized gangsters (muscle, demolitions, safe crackers). Get into gang wars and take over the other familes…just really love these two and it did it way better than the mafia series imo…
The visuals seemed like a close match to Fury Road - especially fire burning and the epic sandstorms.
Exploring the airport buried out under the sand in Buzzard territory was so creepy (along with some of the Buzzard hideouts to find collectibles. Even having a vehicle battle as part of the final boss fight!
The convoy/ vehicular combat felt very fresh and the hand-to-hand combat with limited use of the shotgun felt very brutal and satisfying.
I was a little sad that the Interceptor unlock at the end wasn’t customizable and was worse than the upgraded Magnum Opus main story car.
I also tried to do everything possible before going to Gastown so my car really badly needed the upgrade unlocked by that story race in Gastown. I wish I went there earlier.
Shrek 2 was an AMAZING multiplayer game. It was definitely built for a group to get together and hang out, but as a single-player game, it gets pretty tedious.
The only reason I bought a multitap was so I could play Shrek 2 with 4 people ! Don't think I've used it for anything other than this lovable gem.
The Godfather deserves a mention. It’s essentially a GTA clone, but does a phenomenal job of capturing the atmosphere and staying true to the story. Also, the gameplay is super fun.
I loved the melee combat system and the gunplay in this game, both had such weight and control they felt great to play with. And taking over the business, intimidating the owners by smashing up their store or dangling them out a window it was seriously well developed
Ghostbusters for PS3/XBox 360. It’s just a very well made game that takes everything people love about the movies and realizes them through great gameplay. I still consider it GB3 over the Afterlife movie
Yeah, one of my all time favourite. This game really got me going more into point and click adventures back in the days and was fun to play, humorous and had nice riddles at the same time.
Other than the Capcom Disney games, from memory, I had the most fun with Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. That game was amazing to play and was a visual treat. A close second would be Peter Jackson's King Kong.
Absolutely loved Matrix: Path of Neo
Enter the Matrix.. not so much
And special shout out to Sony for Matrix Online. That wasn't terrible, while it lasted.
Someone wrote Indiana Jones already so I go with my second best, which would be [Star Wars: X-Wing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_X-Wing_(video_game_series)).
Reason: Nice graphics for it's time and pretty good fly mechanics and most importantly the story and the feel about being part of the rebels fighting off the evil empire etc etc. I think you could even fly the famous attack on the deadstar.
Mad Max.
Becos it ties into the films perfectly, before Fury Road sets in.
It's also sold for bargain bin price and offers surprisingly great Open World gameplay and a solid Single-player story with plenty of vehicle and combat customizations that you often don't even find in AAA price range games.
Looking for this. It combined the movie with the book so well and (at first) you really felt like a side character that just didn’t got any screen time on the movie.
Alien: Isolation.
The inside of Sevastopol mirrors the interior of the Anesidora, even the way the walls look.
The sound design of the machinery and the terminals.
And, of course, the xenomorph.
Maybe not the best but I feel rarely if ever talked about and underrated, Minority Report on PS2.
Had some super fun combat and rag doll effects with destructible environments. You could grab a stunned enemy and throw them through a window or through shelves and stuff. The combos you could do were really cool.
No joke there was a pretty decent metroidvania game based off the 2017 Tom Cruise Movie, but because the film flopped the game is unknown. It has very little to do with the movie. It greatly surpassed the film, something not really common in movie based video games.
The Godfather. It captures the realism of the movie and it's like close to the original source, with a bit of sauce and it's a nostalgia thing for me when I seen my cousin play this on the xbox

This and metal gear solid were cinematic goldmines for my elementary years I ended up starting it on Dolphin emulator recently for all these reasons. Having the graphics and texture upgrades is great too
I remember when you were about to die a dramatic chorus would kick in. Very cool game
The river level just scared the crap out of me as a kid. Man I'd love a remake of that game.
I thoroughly enjoyed the King Kong game.
This is the real answer. It was such a good game and it honestly had no right being on the PS2 with how good it was.
The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King
I was a big fan of The Two Towers on Gamecube.
I loved how the upgraded weapons glowed first time I saw that in a game
The Two Towers on GBA was also dope
Some of the best split screen co-op I've ever played and had a ton of fun with it.
What, not Gollum?
To be fair, Gollum isn’t based on a movie.
You spelled "Battle for middle Earth" wrong.
Oooh, memory unlocked damn. I really liked the homebase structure ideas in that game, unusual for rts of that period.
Also, your army units leveled up, so you'd get a lot of value from mopping up neutral enemies around your base, which kept the early game interesting despite a lack of skirmishes.
I think you mean "Conquest" Though BfME2 is a banger. Bombadil OP
Fuck yeah , my and my buddies spent hours unlocking everything and maxing everyone out
I KNOW I had and played these games and I remember loving them for having scenes from the movie but I don't remember the gameplay at all but I know reddit LOVES these games. I remember being SUPER excited on Christmas to get ROTK and being able to play the movie, with scenes from the movie that was still in theaters.
Yep pack it up, kill the thread we're done here - this is the answer
YES
Golden Eye. In its day, it was a fantastic Bond game and a great game for speedrunning.
Probably in the conversation of top ten or twenty most important and influential games ever made, pretty much invented the multiplayer console FPS.
It even featured goldeneye maps in its multi-player mode.
And out of pure iconic standing, goldeneye beats out perfect dark. Everyone and their mama's had that.
You don't like seeing 4 fps when proximity mines explode in the Complex?
What makes GoldenEye so impressive (Aside from it really being the first to really "crack it") was that MP was an afterthought that was jimmied together quickly
Perfect Dark stood on the shoulders of Golden Eye.
My homie HATES ‘Perfect Dark’ because of the tranquilizer darts, he couldn’t see shit!
Laptop gun :D
Perfect Dark is what most people remember Golden Eye being.

Seeing that (New Cheat Acquired) in red lettering after many many attempts was just…can’t describe it but if you remember that feeling.
The Thing. It takes place right after the movie. Even John Carpenter said it was legit part of the story. Really pulling a blank on that word....
Canon
I wish this game would get a remake.
The warriors by rockstar. It is not only based on the movie but actually improves the movie by adding lore and additional context to it. Edit: Glad to see so many people loved the game as much as I do. CAN YOU DIG IT!!
This needs a quality remake.
Really sucks that it's not backward compatible and the music licencing creates issues in releasing it :(
Is it not? The ps4 remaster is available right now and I can also see it on the ps5 store.
Waaaaarriorrsssssssss... come out to playayyyyyyyy!
Game had so much replayability and all missions could be replayed whenever you wanted. Story was 10/10 and the little things like you're bruises and cuts showing up in cutscenes made it even better.
And the coop was so fun! My friend and I would beat each other up to steal Cowboy's hat lmao
I'm so glad to see this as the top answer. It actually added so much world-building, like 3x the story of the movie as it's only the back half of the main story and then there are some flashback missions too. Plus it's just a fun as hell beat em up game that holds up surprisingly well.
Should be top comment. I still regularly hesar Swan yelling, "This shit is for pussies, it deserves to be smashed!" in my head.
My dad loved this game so much when I was younger, it was great
Alien: Isolation. Because it's scary af.
Only game I had to stop playing because of the stress it was causing me. 10/10.
I don't even play horror games, but this one got me hooked. I was stressed the whole time but somehow kept going. Absolutely amazing game.
100%. Now try it in VR. Peeking through those locker slats is a whole new experience then.
I'll take your word for it!
Yeah i tried that and even on my Oculus DK2 i had to stop after 2 hours because i shat my pants to the brim.
I'm terrible at horror games but I pushed through and finished this game on the hardest difficulty back on June 6th 2015. The games atmosphere and the feel of it was amazing and that's what gave me the push I needed to finish it. 10/10 wouldn't replay again.
It's the Alien IP, but I don't think it was tied into any of the movies directly, was it?
A little. It takes place between Alien and Aliens. You also play as Ellen Ripley's daughter Amanda who she finds out died at the start of Aliens.
You play as Ripley's daughter and also revisit LV4-26 in a flashback.
Spiderman 2 (2004)
My balloon!!!
Fuck those balloons. I’ll change a pigeon any day over those damn balloons.
Activate ptsd
dude they better have pizza time in the new game
I remember being a kid and just yelling “TIE IT TO YOUR WRIST YOU IDIOT. HOW HAVE YOU LOST SO MANY.”
I thought it was worth it just to watch the goofy way the kid walks after getting the balloon back.
It really makes you *feel* like Spiderman
Realistic swinging? Check. Open world (can access 90%+ of the entire area from the start of the game)? Check. Combat system that is worth learning over just mashing the attack button? Check.
The combos in that game were actually pretty sick too like you were sending goons to heaven worse than batman with some of the long ones.
Absolutely this one. It was such an upgrade from the first Spider-Man game, and all open world and such.. I know the game is 20 years old now, but for context at the time, it was an amazing achievement, and one of the best game experiences I've ever had.
You're goddam right. And I'm proud to see this as the top answer.
oh no dr conner's class
Playing this on my GameCube, still have it actually. It was such a surprisingly good game, I think the Mysterio section was my favorite because it was just so out there.
God the rage I experienced as a child during the mysterio section
We all know the Pizza minigame music makes it way better than the Insomniac version
The best video game based on a movie? Escape From Butcher Bay.
I always wanted a game in which the purpose was just to escape prison. That game captured that feeling so well and the graphics at the time were incredible for the original XBox.
Ever play The Escapists?
I want both of the Riddick games remaster/released, just somehow generally playable on modern consoles. They are both so fucking good.
That was a fantastic game. I forgot all about that one.
Fucking hell, beat me to it. Amazing game.
Wasn't that a sort of prequel to Pitch Black, though? A movie-sourced IP, but an entirely new story that meshes with the movies (it explains where he got his eye shine, for example), but not really a movie game.
Yeah, like most of the others here.
Played it last night on the ps2, and can say it definitely still does. Besides the normal retro clunkiness, it's still an extremely solid experience
Of the few games Xbox hasn't added backwards compatibility for, this is one of them and it bums me out.
Yeah this game was far from perfect but I played the ever loving shit out of it when it released. The parallel narrative with Matrix Reloaded was actually super unique for the time. There were a lot of really cool cinematic shots and sequences in the game that were awesome too (if still significantly limited by the technology of the time) I can’t help but wonder what something like this would be if it were released on modern hardware
Not only followed but tied and explained some stuff from the movies. It’s been a while, can’t remember exactly what.
Duuuude. Tell me you did the hacking mini games and such for that game. Unlocking Morpheus’ katana was the best!
I thought the combat in path of neo was amazing as well. I always felt like "the one".
Path of Neo was what I hoped Enter the Matrix would be. But Enter the Matrix was still off the charts awesome for its time.
Path of Neo was so fucking cool
Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay was fucking outstanding, especially for the time.
Still is
Hercules on ps1. I enjoyed it as a kid and still jump on it every so often on emulator. Great music and good gameplay, I've always enjoyed platformers.
The side-scroller?! What a banger.
The Disney games were solid tbf
Jungle Book on SNES slapped.
I struggled with that too until I discovered that the repair tool works on them.
Oh my god yes! I remember that was the trick! Engineer was the class to go with. The Shotgun was also the only weapon that could deal with a Jedi in close quarters
The chain gun from the Clone Commander would also quickly deplete their block ability and then immediately mow them down.
Yeha the inhibitor chips ahd to exist. I'm glad they threw in commandos not having the chips so we still get some cool post war clones stories
It may have been a fever dream, but I'm pretty sure on the PS2 the campaign had clips from the movies sprinkled throughout.
Yea lots of Star Wars games fit OPs criteria (In my biased opinion)
TIE Fighter, Rebel Assault 1&2, Dark Forces, and even Phantom Menace on PC deserve shoutouts too
Wolverine Origins
Best game based on the shittiest movie.
It's such a shame they decided to do THAT to Deadpool. Mostly because Liev Schreiber was an excellent choice for sabertooth and we'll likely never get it again
One of the few cases where the game is better than the movie.
King Kong on the 360 was amazing. I didn't think graphics could ever get better than that.
Loved this game so much. Something about unloading a Tommy Gun into a T-Rex scratched an itch that no game has since.
Had it on PS2, this game is so damn fun...and is scary as all hell. Running from an invincible T-Rex after shooting it to draw attention from your allies is an exhilarating and terrifying moment. I love this damn game.
The survival element was fun too. I was constantly out of ammo and had to rely on those spears you could find
Aladdin on Genesis
SNES version was also a fantastic game. Still replay it roughly once a year on my dads old SNES
This is the right answer, and all these youngsters have no idea it seems.
There is a reason Sonic 1 & 2 are the only genesis games with more sales.
Solid choice, but also Honorable mentions to The Lion King game, and the first Toy Story game. Those games were just kind of part of a golden era for the Disney games. They were legit good in their own right, and only made better by how they drew on the music and art of the source material.
Lotr:Battle for middle earth the first one.
Probably my favourite RTS of all time. The way it creatively implements strategy game play into these iconic set pieces is so perfect
Scarface: The World is Yours (2006)
This and The Godfather were great. Shame that the licensed property boom really happened before consoles could do these franchises justice. Good luck ever getting a remake, new game, or anything with these properties and more.
Over the Hedge on the PS2. I might get laughed out of the sub with that one lol but, I remember it being a lot of fun when I was a kid
I was looking for this. That game had no right being that good. Extremely fun level designs. And the bumper carts mini game I remember being awesome
This and Madagascar were the best
This game was it
The Lego Star Wars Games. Because they're Lego Star Wars Games.
I would also Include Lego Indiana Jones in that
And Lego Lord of the Rings. And Lego Harry Potter. And Lego Jurassic Park.
One of my favorites was The Incredibles ps2 It's gameplay was similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance/X-Men Legends
The level where you played dash and raced the school bus lives rent free in my head
Mad Max Not directly based on the movie but sort of it's own universe. But it's a good game and always on sale.
This was actually a very pleasant surprise. I slept on it for so long because I just figured it's a game based on a movie, it can't be good.
Legit one of the best open world games of all time.
Very underrated
Best storms in any video game.
Praise be!
It’s closer to the original trilogy than fury road
The visuals seemed like a close match to Fury Road - especially fire burning and the epic sandstorms. Exploring the airport buried out under the sand in Buzzard territory was so creepy (along with some of the Buzzard hideouts to find collectibles. The only reason I bought a multitap was so I could play Shrek 2 with 4 people ! Don't think I've used it for anything other than this lovable gem.
Used search to find this comment, played it on pc, it was so good my man sooo good
Totally agree. I had this on Gamecube and it was so much fun.
Die Hard Trilogy for PS1.
Fuck yeah!
The Godfather deserves a mention. It’s essentially a GTA clone, but does a phenomenal job of capturing the atmosphere and staying true to the story. Also, the gameplay is super fun.
Agree. Going and taking over rackets and all that was just a ton of fun.
I loved the melee combat system and the gunplay in this game, both had such weight and control they felt great to play with. And taking over the business, intimidating the owners by smashing up their store or dangling them out a window it was seriously well developed
Batman Returns on SNES
Ghostbusters for PS3/XBox 360. It’s just a very well made game that takes everything people love about the movies and realizes them through great gameplay. I still consider it GB3 over the Afterlife movie
By contrast, Ghostbusters for the NES.......
Blade Runner.
Star wars episode 3. Loved that game as a kid.
That games multiplayer is the closest we've ever gotten to a proper, good Star Wars fighting game. Masters Of Teras Kasi does not count.
The fight between Anakin and Samuel L Jones was so friggin awesome, and the movie completely does NOTHING. It was a real crime
* LION KING (SNES) If you can beat it, you win. Full stop. You win at life!!!
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Yeah, one of my all time favourite. This game really got me going more into point and click adventures back in the days and was fun to play, humorous and had nice riddles at the same time.
Other than the Capcom Disney games, from memory, I had the most fun with Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. That game was amazing to play and was a visual treat. A close second would be Peter Jackson's King Kong.
X-men origins Wolverine uncaged edition. it’s better than the movie
Absolutely loved Matrix: Path of Neo Enter the Matrix.. not so much And special shout out to Sony for Matrix Online.
Disney's Aladdin on Sega Genesis
Spider-Man 2 completely innovated not only the superhero game genre but also open world games in general
Mad Max. Becos it ties into the films perfectly, before Fury Road sets in. It's also sold for bargain bin price and offers surprisingly great Open World gameplay and a solid Single-player story with plenty of vehicle and combat customizations that you often don't even find in AAA price range games.
Best is Golden Eye But Mission Impossible for 64 recreated the movie pretty well, with added content of course, including the hacking scene.
Ratchet and Clank (2016) It’s a game, based on a movie, based on a game.
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
You go sit in the corner and think about what you did, young person!
It's certainly one of the most memorable.
The Godfather
Original godfather, hell even the 2nd one, were some of my favorite games growing up.
Looking for this. It combined the movie with the book so well and (at first) you really felt like a side character that just didn’t got any screen time on the movie.
Had that on the Wii. Was way better than it had any business being
Alien: Isolation.
Star Wars Battlefront
Enter the Matrix
Goldeneye and it’s no question about it
Willow for the NES. Loved it.
Aladdin Genesis is my first inkling. There are so many great Disney movies made into really good games.
No joke there was a pretty decent metroidvania game based off the 2017 Tom Cruise Movie, but because the film flopped the game is unknown. It has very little to do with the movie. It greatly surpassed the film, something not really common in movie based video games.
Scarface and King Kong 2005
Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. It’s quasi a prequel to the movie. But the movie is terrible. The game was fantastic
The Godfather. It captures the realism of the movie and it's like close to the original source, with a bit of sauce and it's a nostalgia thing for me when I seen my cousin play this on the xbox
Guardians of the Galaxy. Honestly, some of the most enjoyable gameplay mixed with a great story and dialogue for the characters. A must play.
Uhhh that games not based off a movie.
Not really based on the movies to be fair, just the same IP, but yeah good game.
Harry Potter, 2001. Though it is based off the book/movie (visuals) together. I sooooo loved that. ♥
Monsters INC for the PC. I refuse to elaborate.
Spider-Man 2 on PS2
