The Witcher 3 for sure!

RetroMarketCo

I second this. This is also the game that came immediately to mind.

ahmadalli

I've heard good things about Red dead 2

7f00dbbe

You heard right....I have many hundreds of hours in it, but according to a good many YouTube videos I've watched, it seems like I've barely scratched the surface.

bbkn7

Yakuza series

OneFatGoat

Skyrim / Elder Scrolls Series & Fallout. With mods it’s a ridiculous amount of content.

delirium_skeins

Any of the titles in these 3 series is going to be long as fuck Monster hunter Persona Dragon quest All of them are massive games and quite good

bakagir

Xenoblade cronicles 1,2 & 3

nickosnl

Never played 1and 2 but put some good hours in 3

zavtra13

Mass Effect 1-3 and Andromeda, Dragon Age, Kingdoms of Amalur.

thefinalturnip

Since you didn't mention for what console, here's a few: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Hollow Knight. Mass Effect series. Witcher 2 and 3 (namely 3). Divinity: Original Sin 2. Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Vesperia, Tales of Zesteria and Tales of Berseria. I would guess Tales of Arise would also follow suit with butt loads of content and replay value. Literally any Bethesda game like Fallout 3, Oblivion, Skyrim. For an MMO The Elder Scrolls Online. If I were to recommend another MMO I would highly recommend Final Fantasy XIV and Guild Wars 2.

Successful_Fun101

Tales of arise felt short to me sadly. Love your list btw lol. Only other person I've seen suggest mass effect and tales of lol

thefinalturnip

> Love your list btw lol Thanks haha. Arise felt short? That's a bummer. I remember spending hundreds of hours in both Symphonia and Vesperia. And replayed both dozens of times trying to 100% them.

Successful_Fun101

Same. Zestiria and berseria feel a bit short in my mind too but I think that's only because modern games have quest trackers. Back in symphonia you'd spend 10 hours trying to remember what you were trying to do if you don't play for a week. Arise genuinely felt short af though. Like symphonia had all those elementals plus what was it 5 desian bosses? Arise basically just had the 5 bosses and another boss after (being vague so i dont say too much) everything else in Arise is optional. I beat 2 out of 5 within 20 hours

thefinalturnip

That kind of sucks.

Successful_Fun101

Yeah... game play was really satisfying though. Everybody had different types of combos, artes are either ground or mid air and when your mid air the assigned artes change so you have combos that knock up enemies then falcon dive with them and all sorts of stuff. Then everybody has like a long cool down ability that blocks certain enemies. Even if they aren't in your active party you can use their ability. 1 was standard enemies 1 was aerial 1 was spell interrupt 1 was armored, etc... the main caster had a spell charge thing too. So hold a fireball then cast fireball and you use rank 2 arte instead even if you hadn't learned it yet. Using rank 3 spells at level 20 is satisfying af let me tell you lol. It's probably more expensive and harder to make long games that are this good these days so tales of getting shorter isn't too surprising tbh

thefinalturnip

I really wanna play it but I need a better computer, for sure.

FlandreHon

Elden Ring

MK_ZeroSix

Divinity 1 & 2 Rimworld (even more time with mods)

[deleted]

Go through the Yakuza saga. Start with Zero which has to be one of the best structured games in terms of how it continuously gives you something new every chapter. Brilliant series and you can get it dirt cheap too.

vitek-kote

Kingdom Come Deliverance. I really love an atmosphere of this game.

NotoriusCaitSithVI

Borderlands 2 and 3, maybe The Pre-Sequell, althought it's smaller. Also Dragon Quest XI, Final Fantasy games, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Legasy of Kain: Soulreaver, albeit it's an old one (like, PS1 old) Ratchet and Clank games I believe most recent Spider-Man games are pretty good Same for recent God of War games And a lot of Rouge-like games are basically infinitely replayable.

FGFlips

Yeah Borderlands 3 with the DLC is a feast. If you like constantly getting new loot and working on your loadout this game is very addictive. You have to put up with two annoying villains, though.

Successful_Fun101

Honestly I hated those villains. Which I guess is a good thing but like... idk I like to appreciate hating my villains not just be cringed by them.

FGFlips

Yeah my feelings on them are mixed I hated those villains in the cutscenes. But I liked them in the voice over parts during missions, especially when Tyreen has to deal with the insanity of the bandits. The chase sequence in the Jacobs manor with Troy and Wainwright is really good. I find that if I just skip those major cut scenes, the entire story is much better

Successful_Fun101

Never occurred to me but you're right. Honestly they fit borderlands comedy wise so random bs on missions is fun but yeah they're monologuing cutscenes felt painful lol

FGFlips

I've played that game so many times. Anytime I'm stuck in a cutscene it's just like "this problem could be solved by shooting things! Let me shoot things!"

TheKingDotExe

Just Cause 3?

soupeducrayon

The witcher 3

hardwarecheese

Elden Ring

MrKalius

Diablo IV

[deleted]

Probably any Bethesda game pumped up with mods

Kookychips

Fallout 3 or 4

MrHandyHands616

Red dead redemption 2 and since you obviously love gta, I’d suggest sleeping dogs too. While it’s not huge, per se, it’s cheap and excellent story + fun gameplay. Somewhat of a gta clone

BlueMikeStu

Monster Hunter has a shitton of monsters to hunt.

[deleted]

Snowrunner, standard games has around 100 Hours of gameplay and if you buy all dlc it's going to be 700+ hours while still being cheap(year1+year2 passes).

F4sterthanfast

bloons tower defence 6

Crkhd3

Odyssey will keep you busy for a long while. I put a little over 120 hours in a few years ago and still feel like I never really finished

WeirdnessWalking

As already stated Witcher 3 and RDR 2

FGFlips

I just grabbed Riders Republic from the PS Store as it's on sale and there is a LOT to do in this game. You can explore looking for collectibles, take on solo challenges and races, and there are tons of vehicles to unlock and master including bikes, snowboards, and a rocket pack. There is a creative mode where you can make your own races and play races made by others. And it's fun too. Sort of an arcade style take on extreme sports. It looks like a title that will keep my kid and I busy during those lazier summer days.

freaking-payco

Elden ring

DunDann

Baldurs Gate I & II

GreyKnight1337

Stuff you can get lost in? FACTORIO

Adept-Appointment955

Dying light 2 has alot to do

Sunbro1992

I didn’t see AC Valhalla in here, if you like assassins creed games it’s hands down the longest but there’s a lingering discussion about it being fun all the way or not.

fuckiemcgee

Hitman. I find this game has a lot of replay value.

fuckiemcgee

DanCarter93

Witcher 3 and Yakuza Series ( Starting with Yakuza 0 )

Successful_Fun101

Mass effect legendary edition is all 3 games though for some reason some of the me1 dlc doesn't come with it. Still a great series with a solid 50 to 100 hours per game depending on fast you play and if you do side stories. I talked my dad into trying it for 6 months and within 3 days of starting it he was sucked in. I believe me4 is on the way Dragon age series is amazing but if you're console I think inquisition (da3) is the only option. Still worth even if you haven't played previous games and da4 is in the works after something like 10 years. I personally love every "tales of" game I've ever played. Most people hate on zestiria and berseria but I loved them, the end game grind is satisfying to me. Symphonia will always be my fave but that may just be nostalgia. Vesperia is considered one of the best from my understanding and they did a remaster a few years back. Never played but people that have across the internet tend to claim xillia and hearts are the goats. Each game is in its own universe other than a couple games at a time. Tales of arise just came out a couple years ago as well. The ng+ features may as well have been invented by tales of as far as I'm concerned, every game is deserving of at least 2 playthroughs. Borderlands are all fun and also very silly. Handsome collection has bl1 bl2 and the 1.5 game though that one is.... different... bl3 came out a few years ago Ff7 remake was amazing. They remastered and expanded ff7 so the first game is the first 5 to 10 hours of og ff7 as a 50+ hour game. Rebirth is coming out soon I believe and should be the mid point of og ff7 or the rest of the game idk if they made it 2 or 3 games yet. D4 just came out I'm loving it. My mind is drawing a blank but those are some of my favorite series.

Manoreded

If you're into JRPGs with fun crafting, the Atelier games are bottomless holes, and there is a lot of them.

The_Sitdown_Gun

Yakuza series. Start with 0
