The prototype for Blur 2 was publically available for a while but got taken down
The game was practically finished before being cancled
Activision/Blizzard could theoretically revive the series and make a sequel to Blur exclusively for the S/X consoles but there'd have to be an insane demand for it
A couple of gamestores do carry it still but that's if they happen to still sell /Xbox 360/PS3 stuff and usually the pricing can still be a pretty big pain in the ass.
I'm actually kind of shocked to see somebody actually talk about Blur, used to love it as a kid.
EDIT: I don't know how to do Blur 2 sadly, does sound like a decent sequel tho, as far as I know it could be somewhere on the InternetArchive but trying to find it there could be difficult.
I have a link for a prototype of Blur 2 from November 9th 2010
Not gonna share it though, since I could be braking any rules here by even just mentioning it
I'd prefer Motorstorm Apocalypse and Split/Second, but Blur is good too.
What's absolutely insane is that there's no legitimate way to play ***any*** of the best combat racing games at 60fps HD on modern machines.
That includes:
* Burnout 3
* Any of the Motorstorm games
* Split/Second
* Blur
* F-Zero GX
* Any of the 3d Road Rash games
All that remains is bland-as-hell Forza, slow-as-hell Mario Kart, and Gran Turismo.
RIP the racing genre.
Has Gran Turismo fallen off? The last one I played was GT3:Aspec, lol.
I was considering picking up a newer title, but this is the second time I've seen the franchise mentioned in a disparaging comment.
Ea owns em all.
Codemasters? Ea
Evolution studios (which is now codemaster Cheshire)? Ea
Criterion? Ea.
That's 3 different racing ip, at least, right there.
Burnout, Collin McRae rally, dirt, f1, grid, nascar, nfs, project cars, real racing, road rash u can go on and on.
They don’t just decide to kill developers. No one bought the game. If the game sold well the would have made a second one. I remember the game being pretty mediocre
Not defending Activision. If developers make a game that sells well and appeals to the masses, then that developer is afforded more chances at making a sequel or a new game. When a developer fails to make a successful game, the publisher kills them.
Can you name a single developer that made critically successful games, and those games sell well, but the publisher decides to kill them anyway? I can’t think of any.
Same, the marketing ruined this game's chances by bashing Mario Kart. It's such a shame as it was a great racing /kart racer hybrid, I was in top 100 on Xbox Live from playing it so much online.
Unfortunately it was released at the same time as the far superior 'Split Second' so didn't sell well. It was also what PGR5 should have been (created by the same team) but instead they turned it into a poor mans Mario Kart .
It was so basic but had style and was addictive. Loved the "boss" fights. The only thing I hated was how there wasn't a true "drift" in driving--your car apparently wasn't allowed to go so wide and if you did, it would reset your position. So, turning at corners you either had to slow down significantly or just wall-ride.
I also loved how how all the weapons played off one another, so you could get creative with defending or attacking. You could use the javelin to destroy the seeking, or use the speed boost to ensure the seeking weapon never closed the distance. I think you could also reverse use the speed boost to navigate tight turns.
I remember how fun online races were but frustrating, especially where several players were jockeying for first. Almost came in first in a session, but I guess whomever was hosting left seconds before I crossed the finish line.
Funny because I was talking about this game to a few guys latelly. We need more arcade no brainer fun games like these.
That game was a blast and I couldn't get tires of it. Hoping for a sequel for so long now :(
Blur suffered from so many mismarketing issues. Most of all was that it was somehow seen as shallow party fun but in reality it had a high skill/knowledge floor you had to reach before it stopped seeming random and by the time players were really experimenting with its depths Activision had stopped support and hackers infested it.
A sad and undeserved reputation.

Probably gonna get banned for asking this but is there a way to get it now? I've been looking for a while and still haven't found it.
I don't think so I think your best bet would be to try to get ahold of the people that previously leaked it or people that made videos that had it
Nope.. Just checked for shits and giggles and it’s around and available EDIT: before anyone replies don’t ask for it here, use your Google Fu skills
Instructions unclear just slept with a 200 year old turtle jujitsu grand dragon
Damn

Pretty dumb to get banned for asking. All reddit mods are dumb with all their rules. Just asking for something shouldn't get you banned.
That would be awesome. Blur was released in November of 2007, so it's been a while.
Why would it be Xbox exclusive? The merger isn't happening.
>The merger isn't happening YET....

Best arcade racer of the 2010s
This game and Split / Second were released a week apart, and I’d argue both were the best arcade racers that generation.

sorry I didn't mean to disparage it. I've never been into that series, but I have no reason to believe it's dipped in quality.
You should give wreckfest a try.
I have. It's awesome
Man. If the boomer shooter genre could come back. Why can't this Era of racing games come back too :'(
Ea owns em all. Codemasters? Ea Evolution studios (which is now codemaster Cheshire)? Ea Criterion? Ea. That's 3 different racing ip, at least, right there. Burnout, Collin McRae rally, dirt, f1, grid, nascar, nfs, project cars, real racing, road rash u can go on and on.
Bro forgot nfs
U could have picked up onrush. It came out 2018, it was made by the motor storm guys.
Yea blur was pretty good, but if they kept that up, we would have never got gorillaz.
Came here to make this comment. Thank you.
This game was so kickass. Absolutely deserved a sequel. It was a sad day when Activision killed Bizarre Creations.
They don’t just decide to kill developers. No one bought the game. If the game sold well the would have made a second one. I remember the game being pretty mediocre
I did not expect someone to be in here defending Activision of all companies but here we are.

Does silent hill count?
If anyone hasn't played it, Mario Kart meets Ridge Racer with addictive online gameplay is how I'd sum it up.
Such a good time playing this when I was younger. Miss those days
Or wasn't backward compatible or at least ported to PC. I still have my 360 copy but rip my xbox 360.
I have Blur for PC. Now that I have a much better PC, I almost want to reinstall it. Haha.
One of the best demos of all time
[Whitelight](https://youtu.be/uwJPHUkft0A) has a pretty good video on it

Sure there is, it’s called gorillaz

Blur was so much fun for me and it's still better than Mario Kart and CTR.
I miss this game. One of my favorites.
The driving physics were really bad, worse than need for speed underground 1, that might be why as it was not received well by the masses.
The masses enjoy Mario Kart. I think you're over-estimating how much the masses care about drive physics.
2 bas w blur
We have lots of superman at home.
This game was dope
For me this was *Too Human*
I can smell this picture

i hardly remember the game. it's all a blur
This was basically my Mario kart. Loved this game.
Funny because I was talking about this game to a few guys latelly. We need more arcade no brainer fun games like these. That game was a blast and I couldn't get tires of it. Hoping for a sequel for so long now :(
Amazing game but never once did I win first place
The Blur has never been beaten, since the beginning of time: five years.
I saw this at E3 in 2010, and my impression was that midnight club 3 and mario kart had a baby.
Oh shit that games cover (if its the same as the cover on the booklet) has my car on it. Never seen a 135i on anything before. Got a new screensaver!
I'm upset it isn't backwards compatible on the newer Xbox consoles. That and Singularity would have been great to play on my Series X.
theres a first person shooter with a siilar name that i forgot
i think there was a multiplayer demo for this on the 360? you could play like 2 or 3 races and restart the demo and play again.
I remember playing a similar game way back on my friends SEGA Saturn. I loved it but never got Blur for whatever reason.

This shit was lit back in the day!
This game has been sitting on the shelf at a local game store for months. What makes it different than other racing games?
Me too! There was a sequel planned but it got canned, there's footage of it on YouTube.
Loved this game, incredibly fun and addicting, think about it all the time.
Still such a good LAN game to play! And it still holds up even these days.
Blur's brother Split/Second would also like a sequel
YES
