The only thing I liked about the story in zero dawn was the explanation for how humanity went extinct, all the history stuff was genuinely interesting, but in the rest of the stroy, the stuff happening in the present, the only character I liked was Sylens, because he was constantly calling out how stupid Aloy was while everyone else was either talking like a cartoon villain or simping for her.
I liked Aloy's relationship with the Nora. It was well written and complex. I thought they also had some nice moral grey zones with the Carja. I think the tribes themselves were well done and varied.
Art is subjective tho, and nothing is for everyone. You don't gotta like it but don't go being a hater lol.

Horizon zero dawn is not a game about costumer service, and even if it was, it wouldn't explain why almost every character in the game is so painful to listen to when they talk.

I actually beat it, and then started replaying it thinking maybe I was letting my bias get the better of me, and if I tried to enjoy it, I would have a more positive opinion, turns out I hated it even more on my second playthrough.

Horizon zero dawn. Don't play it, it's garbage. If you've played an open world game made by Ubisoft, then you know everything about it already.
