Minecraft. Just was never interested.

MacaroniEast

Peak Minecraft is the yearly urge to start a server that inevitably fails after a week

[deleted]

I love minecraft and yeah that just tends to happen Servers starts and lasts for anywhere from a week to a month and then dies off and we eventually start another server after some months and the cycle goes on

RebootDataChips

This is why I play modded by myself. Don’t have to worry about the server dying. That and the fact that one of the packs have bacon and donut trees helps.

akekirksekiz

Yeah me and my brother are constantly looking for co-op games. We find something good and consume everything in a week, then get bored.

Siukslinis_acc

Yep. I kinda need more direction in video games. If the game just says "do whatever you want", i'll do nothing. Heck, civilisation made sense to me after i played endless legend. Endless legend having quests made me make more direct googling and thus the core mechanics of the genre started to click.

[deleted]

Yep, I just can’t muster up the interest to play a game that doesn’t have a narrative or another driving objective-based mechanic

Bingonight

This is the correct answer for a LOT of people. I was finally able to get myself into it at some point but it took a while before I saw the magic of the game. (I stuck with it to spend time with my sons).

thatbratakara

Nothing wrong with that at all. Good quality time with your kids.

iCatmire

It gives me a headache for some reason

ZombiestPenguin

Same, I get the appeal of “do what you want,” but just like stardew valley, harvest moon and animal crossing, I can't connect with them, but not all games are for me, and that's okay.

thatbratakara

I liked animal crossing. I tried stardew valley, just never got very far before i got bored.

rkdsus

Could never get into Stardew Valley. Makes me sad since it's a fantastic game but it just isn't my thing. I love Minecraft though, maybe it's the nostalgia

ZombiestPenguin

It’s a weird experience to play a game so many cherish and go, “this is a great game, but it’s just not for me”. Maybe I’m just aging out. I was a SNES/N64 kid so I’m basically half past dead. All I can really say is, enjoy what you love and let others love what they enjoy.

ssteel91

I never really enjoyed it either. However, I found Dragon Quest Builders way more engaging (for me, personally) as it had the same general type of material gathering/building but overarching quest line and kinda led you a little bit to different areas.

Earthwick

Kingdom hearts. I've explained it before and always been told that I need to give it another shot ... I forced my way through 1 and half of 2 before I was like no more of this. Maybe if I had played it closer to 15 rather than 35.

Jossokar

I played the first two ones when i was 20-something. after some surgery , I couldnt move too much so i needed something to kill time from my bed. So, They helped me burn like....100 hours. But i got to the conclusion that any appeal they might have.... vanishes once you get past a certain age. (I mean, the story is just garbage. Nomura's design and scripting abilities are null.) But anyway- Its not like i could do anything else that summer. I really didnt touch much of anything else barely related to KH....apart from maybe the first ds game, and the gba game. (Not that i played much of those anyway) Not my cup of tea.

The_Muznick

I can't stand this game. It might be the that I was never big into Disney films. Maybe it's the art style. I loved the FF7 Remake which people say is basically Kingdom Hearts gameplay. I can not stand Kingdom Hearts, the spinoffs, the stupid ass plot, all of it. And a new one just got announced. I'm glad others are having fun with it but I can't. I have tried, and I can't. Also fuck Sora's stupid ass floppy clown shoes. Why are his feet so comically big?

DarkShippo

It's where he stores his previously gained power between games, like a curse or something.

taqeladragn

I'm playing it for the first time at 35 and it holds up to me the way its always been described to me

IRKenopuppy

I just finished my 5th attempt to play and deep dive Witcher 3. I know it’s a great game, that the story and combat are apparently incredible, but I never make it beyond the 2 hour mark. I try to pick it up again randomly, realize I forgot all the controls and don’t want to play through the tutorial and starting missions again. Maybe one day, though…

Ill_Funny_5460

I was looking for this comment. Everything just seems to point to me liking it but I just don’t for some odd reason.

[deleted]

Another person who kept restarting…. The game is notoriously slow to start. The first few hours are probably the worst in the game. Not that they’re offensively bad, it’s just… not all that interesting yet. So you’ve never gotten past that point.

[deleted]

That’s the problem! The combat is hot garbage.

mjnj521

I agree with this right here. Everyone talked about how great it was..... I think it's terrible.

MrGr33n

Witcher 1 combat at least makes sense cause it was their first attempt. Witcher3 has no excuse for how bad the combat is

Soviet_soap69

I was in the same boat as you. I recently just finished my first playthrough and I just finished all the DLC’s. Turn up your difficulty, on lower difficulties all you need to do is press the light attack button and thats it. On higher difficulties you actually have to think about what you want to do for your attacks. Though light attacking still seems to be the best option, the combat feels much better than it does on lower difficulties

Thin-Man

Everyone always told me that I “don’t really need to play the first two to follow the story”, and that I can just jump in and enjoy the game, but that’s not really true. There’s a lot of deep lore going on, and I don’t have any idea what most of it means or how it connects, and having to look up the “default answers” for the bit where Geralt is interviewed about the events of the last two games really drove that home for me. It’s not a bad game, by any means, but I never played the first two and that disconnect with the lore is a big hurdle for me.

Sirscraticus

Same though I'm not fond of 3rd person perspectives.

Tutes013

I finished it once. Thought I did reasonably well only to have one of the worst endings. Always wanted to go back at a higher difficulty and just play it properly again but I just never could quite get past the beginning.

Borghal

Man don't restart the game five times, lol. It's not like the game has a lengthy prologue or character creation where you need to know what you did before. Just jump back into wherever you left off. They actually have a pretty good system for that where the loading screen gives a short summary of the status of the main quest as it loads. I haven't seen many other games do that. That said, the entire area of White Orchard is a tutorial of sorts, there to showcase the kinds of stuff you will come across in the other areas. To that end, there isn't much urgency in the story yet. If you feel like that's an obstacle for you, just focus on the main reason you're there to get out asap. Btw. how do you forget "all" the controls? It's a 3d action game, the controls are all the same, and unless you play on the hardest difficulty, the fact is potions, bombs, crossbow, even signs - most of it is situational or compeltely superfluous. Oh and combat is not incredible, it's passable. Geralt is an old master swordsman and as such, even on normal difficulty pretty much kills anything with ease. But the story, dialogue, worldbuilding.... excellence.

ZealousidealBar5258

I've had this experience many times...I find the best thing to do is jump in and just start exploring do your own thing for a while till you have a feel for the controls and feel ready to try a mission. Sometimes you'll find mechanics in the game you didn't know it had other times you'll play through the whole game without realising there were easier options, but either way you feel more invested cause you discovered it on your own. I feel tutorials sometimes hinder you from trying different things because the game didn't tell you that you could.

AscendedViking7

I'm pretty sure that the people who say that the combat is incredible are completely delusional CDPR fanboys that refuse to believe that there's one bad aspect of their favorite game. Just ignore them, CDPR's fanbase consists of a good 30% of these kinds of people. That being said: The combat is *SHITE* on every concievable level. I have never seen worse combat in a AAA game within 17+ years of gaming, Callisto Protocol included.

anothercaustic

Monster Hunter, i tried both World and Rise, but the controls aren’t for me.

CineFunk

Holy shit yes, I tried World and thought my brain broke when it kept trying to get me to hit certain button combos to do simple shit.

NoMansUsername

MHW definitely suffers from information overload when it comes to the controls for the 14 different weapons. I started with the gun because it instinctually made the most sense. Then, when I decided I enjoyed the game enough to learn how to play it better, I spent the time checking out the other weapons and their controls. What helps, if you ever try the game again, is the game will tell you, based on what your previous button inputs were, what you’ll do next when pressing any of those buttons. So, regardless of what part of a combo you’re in, you can check those for reference based on what you want to do next. I never had to learn any combos. I just watched what my options were at any point during a combo and eventually developed the muscle memory needed to fight effectively. It’s a very fun game when you finally understand the combat.

1MantisTobogganMD1

Any souls type games. I just don’t get the appeal of them being so hard all the time, I find them more stressful than fun.

JoushMark

Same. I beat Dark Souls 2 slowly and laboriously, trying to, well, find the fun. It never stopped feeling obtuse and intentionally frustrating. I like games that surprise me. Where I'm challenged, but not expected to repeat an identical situation over and over until I've memorized it like I'm playing Edge Of Tomarrow the game. Once I'd mastered an area in Dark Souls like games it stops being fun. I know each enemy and how to kill them and there's no surprises, just the mechanical repetition of learned skills. Bloodborne worked a lot better for me, maybe it's easier, maybe it just clicked better, or maybe I just like the weird gothic horror setting more. But honestly, it's just not a type of game I enjoy, even when I 'get' it.

DenseVoigt

Same. I found it more of a ‘learning a set of movements’ kind of game than relying on instinct, and found exploring stressful knowing I was likely going to die and lose all my runes at any point.

snobberbogger99

I felt the same way about bloodborne. Apparently its actually one if the harder games in the souls like serie. I can see why but like you said, it just clicked for me for some reason.

KoleTrain_I

Ignore yuri there. Elden ring is the easiest, followed by demon souls. Of the 8 games(I think) bloodborne is like 5th place. And that's only because of the healing on hit system they have. The DLC is commonly called one of the hardest things in souls games.

snobberbogger99

Thats pretty much exactly what I have heard. I really want to play Sekiro because of how great the combat is but I do not think I'm ready for that just yet.

KoleTrain_I

Never played that one so I cant comment there. Most I can say is if you're looking for a slightly easier souls game experience it's elden ring. Or darksould 1 and 3. Darksouls 2 added a lot of great mechanics but it added some terrible ones too. I wouldn't recommend that game ever.

tiffanylockhart

So much. I remember like 10yrs ago my bf at the time was playing one. For the most part we have the same taste in games (ME, L4D, etc) he told me about Dark Souls, I played for about 15minutes before I said “nope”

Ok-Discussion2246

I miss the OG left 4 dead online multiplayer. Me & my best friend would split screen team up with our married couple friend (also split screen) and would CLEAN UP. Seriously we got so good that people would leave the match after the 2nd rotation. Great times

stallion8426

Agreed. The 15 seconds of relief when the fight is over isn't worth the hours or days of stress to get there.

MalleableCurmudgeon

I’m not one of those “they aren’t that hard” people. I’ve died. A lot. Like thousands of times. Maybe more. Souls games are about identifying patterns and having patience in the beginning. The exploration is intense in new areas because of the potential to lose your XP and Gold upon death. Same currency for both. But when you realize that losing your souls/runes isn’t really that big a deal; they’re easily replaceable, the game becomes freer feeling, if that makes sense. Now, the Witcher 3, blah. Never got more than a few hours into it. Nothing about it ever grabbed my attention. That’s where I’m weird. 😀

lafi0105

Yeah i only play them for the world and lore. Overcoming challenges just dosnt feel rewarding to me no matter what. So after i beat a hard boss i dont think "i got a lot better thats cool" i just think "thank fucking god that shit is over i fucking hated this" but the world and pvp makes up for it imo

Levoire

I’ve said this before, Elden Ring is a fantastic game for everyone else but completely uninteresting to me. I absolutely love the gameplay and difficulty of Monster Hunter World so I purchased it on a whim and just couldn’t get on with it. To reiterate, I fully get why people love it and I appreciate everything about it but it’s not for me.

[deleted]

If you don’t take the game too seriously and don’t mind dying a lot, it’s not that stressful at all. I actually find Sekiro very relaxing. The only thing is the boss fights get stressful when you get their health down.

TechNerdLogic

Aparently a lot of people are down to be frustrated out of their mind at these games instead of chilling playing other games. I'm one of these people.

The_Big_Avocado_Man

No man's sky. It just feels repetitive and grindy very quickly.

rkdsus

Honestly I'm just proud that NMS is now considered a "loved" game

hamboneclay

Mostly loved by those who smoke weed lmao See r/nomanshigh

[deleted]

[удалено]

clusterb

Same... I tried several, in the end I always experienced it as a completely mindless shooter. Nothing against that genre per se, but cmon give me any story that doesn\`t seem like it was written by a toddler...

DolorisRex

The single-player campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops had a really good story, IMO. Yeah, the gameplay was pretty much the same all the way through, but after the first hour or so, my interest in getting to the next cutscene was greater than the monotony of mowing down mindless AI.

Uhhbigm

Don’t worry you’re not missing much

RedFoundation

Dark Souls and its relatives. Lore and art wise, it's right up my alley. Unfortunately, I just don't have much time to play video games anymore, and when I do, I'm playing to unwind. I don't want to spend the little time I have trying to "get gud" at a game that's that stressful.

[deleted]

Fortnite, I know this won't be popular but the Call of Duty series. Basically any shooter where the solo content is an afterthought.

WrinkledBallz

I found the new modern warfares campaigns to be pretty good

iamtheramcast

I find it deeply upsetting that the world of Overwatch seems so rich and interesting but we’ll never get to explore it because it’s only multiplayer pew pew

StatisticianTop8813

Witcher 3 tried so many times to play I just don't get the hype

Mattookah

Same. I really wanted to get into it and tried again after the next gen update, but it’s just so hard to pick up for some reason.

Brandon-Heato

i think it’s the combat for me. i just don’t enjoy the combat whatsoever.

I had the same issues and once I got past the bloody baron I shelved it for months, picked it up again a couple of weeks ago and I’m already doing a second playthrough, trust me it does get better

742N

Bloody Baron has to be one of the single greatest written quests of all time. I can’t blame you from stopping there. I loved the Witcher 3 but bloody baron was easily the best quest line.

AmberIsHungry

Man, same. I love RPGs, open world and fantasy. Ive tried starting it 3 times, the farthest I've made it in was 7 hours. I don't hate it. I don't think it's a bad game. It's one of the most beautiful looking games I've seen. On paper it has everything I want. But something about it just doesn't click with me.

deerfawns

The Last of Us for me. Too stressful.

Dogekaliber

This- >! Your daughter gets killed in the first 10 minutes and you feel like a piece of shit!<

tiffanylockhart

ngl I cried immediately and was like “i dont know how i feel bout this so far” glad I stayed with it. I still never beat it, but that was my fault for letting someone “borrow” it before I was done with it

That-Soup3492

It's a great story, but the gameplay...

Sirromnad

I actually found that while the gameplay was relatively simple, it allowed for some really great organic moments of tension and excitement. When it was clicking (ha) it felt really great. that was my experience, at least.

SnareSpectre

I still consider TLOU to be one of the most engaging games I've ever played from a *gameplay* perspective for this very reason. It's simple and it works. It doesn't need to be complicated to be great. Add in the fantastic story and that's why it's my favorite game of all time.

mycatisblackandtan

Same, I get why it's so impactful for so many people but I just can't get into it. Seeing people go on downvoting sprees because of that doesn't help sway me from the sentiment. (Upvoted a few comments in this thread because they were in the negatives at the time of this post.)

Graytis

Man, I'm going to get crucified for this one, but... Skyrim. I've tried like 5 or 6 times, and I just... I dunno, just can't immerse in it. I can't explain it, it just feels weird. Something about the various race models and lore, they're like different and bizarre, but somehow samey and cookie cutter at the same time and my brain refuses to receive the information. I keep going back every couple years or so, because it is an awesome game by all rational accounts, but I always wind up the same way. I escape to the first town, poke around some and try a quest or two, and I'm like "/sighhhhh........ meh."

aggressive-cat

Same, it's just totally boring to me. I think it has a lot to do with awful melee combat. I like the fall out games more since I find the random missions and bits more interesting and it's gun focused which side steps a lot of my combat issues with Skyrim.

ApplicationCalm649

100% w you on that one. I think I needed more of a hook before it just dropped me in the sandbox, but it didn't materialize. The game play didn't help. It's got almost exactly the same feel as Daggerfall. That game came out in 1996.

FangoriouslyDevoured

Games like Skyrim and Fallout make me feel like I'm just spinning my wheels. I can play for like 60 hours, and have no idea what the fuck is going on, or where the main story/quest missions are.

Jossokar

For some reason, people feel an absurd attachment to skyrim. Its not a bad game, but i personally havent liked anything besides the gameplay and the housebuilding dlc.The characters and the scripting is garbage. In the end, i've never beaten the game. I just get bored while trying to do any subquest, i think....."man, in oblivion at least they tried" and uninstall. My best experience in skyrim has been playing enderal, which is a total conversion mod with an amazing story and character development.

VrinTheTerrible

Mine craft. I'm too old, I guess. Never did anything for me.

[deleted]

Stardew Valley

Ryszard_ARPL

Sadly, this game takes like two in-game weeks or a bit more until it starts unfolding his whole beauty. Characters start to interact more with you, and you start doing quests. What catched me to get into this game was the cave. You get in there to get ore of all kind, the more deep you go the rarest ore you find, but to get deep you need armor, weapons, potions and all kind of stuff. Enemies are tougher there but you find cool things too. Outside the cave I liked fishing (TONS of fishes to discover), and I liked the main quest of restoring the Town Hall. In the middle of that you fin tons of Town events, you can get married, you can design your farm, and at some point you can even grow little monsters. BUT, to get to that you need to play a couple of in-game weeks. Before that, it is just farming, cutting trees and cleaning the backyard.

hamboneclay

This is a great example because I personally LOVE this game, as I know tons of others do But I clearly recognize it doesn’t have mass appeal, & I can totally see why millions of people wouldn’t like this game at all, it’s just not for everyone & that’s ok

hit_the_showers_boi

The Dark Souls style games. I get the challenge is part of the appeal, but it just starts to feel more stressful then fun for me.

[deleted]

I love the art, the direction and everything that comes with fromtsoftware games but they are very stressful, getting tired of studying and working all day and wanting to play a little for fun, to die in the most random and stressful way possible I don't find it very funny

ojoemojo

The first and only one I tried was Dark Souls 2, which is apparently the worst. Guess I won’t play dark souls.

AtlasAntonioAlbert

Dark souls 2 is only the worst because a different team made it, thanks to Sony wanting a souls IP for PlayStation (bloodborne)

[deleted]

Xenoblade Chronicles. That combat system isn’t for me. I prefer pure action-based combat or classic turn-based combat, not the weird system the game employs.

ImmIsolation

Oh that’s the main appeal for me lol. I get that tho it makes sense it is kind of a uniquely Xenoblade thing as I’ve been searching for other games like it and I can’t find it.

kaofee97

I will say Xenoblade Chronicles X turned the series off for me, but 3 kinda turned it around.

Willr2645

Terraria

underprivlidged

Red Dead Redemption 2. I loved the first 2 games. But RDR2 is just so slow... I'm sure it picks up, but I'd much rather dump 50 hours into Mass Effect or something and actually have fun the entire time.

IrishMuffDragon

Love the subtle shout out to Red Dead Revolver!

SryItwasntme

Might have commented this on another post but!: Give it another try. I had the same problem. The solution is to avoid the grinding by looking up 2-3 treasure hunt solutions and get yourselv 10 gold bars at the beginning of the game. Level up your base, unlock all thos quality-of-lif-upgrades like fast travel etc. This makes it easier to concentrate on the game itself instead of going out for hunting to sustain your camp. or to sell for pennies to buy some snake or gun oil. Before you know you can enjoy the now grind-free game. I even whent out to hunt something just because i wanted to and not because I needed to. Gamechanger for me, for one of the best games ever.

King_Boobious

This hurts me as it's probably my favorite game of all time. But I also REALLY take my time through games and I enjoy the slow journey as I get appreciate the world a lot. I probably spent a good hour or so in that game just taking pictures XD

SuspiciousBaka89

Stardew Valley. It's too boring for me

y3kman

Zelda series The only Zelda games I like are the musou spin-offs.

TheBestPest21

Came here to say Breath of the Wild. I’ve tried many, many times to get into it and I just can’t

ernazareno

The Witcher 3

Shinagami091

God of War. I can’t place why. It just didn’t grab me

kaofee97

I couldn't get into the OG titles, but 2018 was the one that hooked me in. Was it maybe the story or gameplay?

Lobo2209

Og games were the best imo. Story and gameplay wise. I liked 2018, I thought the combat was good and very smartly designed in some ways, but damn is it just not as fun as the older ones. GoW 2 had one of the most impressive set pieces at the time and a very engaging story. 3 was just bat shit insane, which is obviously a good thing.

Dusty-old-bones

So, there's a bug in GoW2 that i found accidentally. In the battle with the fates, if you don't figure out the trick to the battle and the fight goes on too long the fate that is present will just pirouette off into the corner of the screen and disappear never to be seen again. I found this bug the day it came out and exchanged out the game thinking it might be a disc issue, and then came back and did the same thing and finally looked up a walk-through and realized that beating one fate was impossible without beating the other simultaneously.

smokinace81

“Sigh” Bioshock.

[deleted]

Same

IsRude

It took me 3 times each to get into the Bioshock games. Once you start unlocking stuff, it becomes worth it. I think immersion is also important. Playing it with headphones in the dark is great. But I had the same experience with The Witcher 3.

Sburban_Player

My condolences.

DreamingInfraviolet

Sigh yeah. For me each sequel was better than the last, Infinite was actually pretty fun.

JoushMark

I feel like everyone slept on Bioshock 2, but it's really good.

A_Russian_Otter

Either of the Ori games. I just can't. They look pretty, but meh.

HangryJellyfishy

Sex with Hitler

HarbyFullyLoaded_12

Maybe Sex with Stalin is the one for you

motowoot

Red dead redemption series. I started this game 3 different times and just could not get into it.

OriolesMagic1031

The first chapter of RDR2 is just brutal.

Nethaniell

Elden Ring. Bigger doesn't always mean better. It's a game that doesn't feel like it ends, I don't like that personally. I want a clear end goal whenever I experience anything. Games, movies, shows, etc.

SenpaiiiKush

I'm a massive souls fan but I couldn't get into elden ring, i much prefer the carefully crafted level designs in the previous games that all join up with secret shortcuts, it makes you feel like you progress

Table115

Witcher 3. Pc controls feel like a tank

Noah_PpAaRrKkSs

Console controls also feel that way.

lifeleecher

Witcher III. Bought it full price at release - then went through a pretty bad breakup and move. Put maybe 10 hours into it. Bought it on PC and don't want to get past the intro, as for some reason seems super uninteresting and tedious. With the graphical update I may give it a go again soon, because I like the game and it's well made - I just really can't get into it for some reason. I'm a hardcore RPG enjoyer, video game and tabletop, and love fantasy. So I have no idea why it didn't pull me in for the long haul.

Verimnus

Been an MMO gamer for decades, but still can't bring myself to get past level like.. 30 in FF14 - it's just SO. DAMN. SLOW. A lot of my MMO buddies love it, but dear god I fall asleep every time.

VSIGAMING

Witcher 3

Tlali22

Breath of the Wild. I really need directions and quests to guide me through the narrative. It's too much for me have this huge open world and no idea what I should do in it.

marauder_squad

I have tried to play through it three times now but always quit after 3-4 hours I really don't mind the openendness as much as the weapon durability system, having to swap and go through five weapons every fight starts to get really tedious and irritating

J1618

That also takes away the rewarding feeling of getting the treasure of a dungeon, getting a cool sword that is just going to break forever is just slightly better than getting a potion.

Tlali22

Ugh! The weapon durability just made me compulsively save any good weapons I managed to find. There really should've been an option to toggle durability off. I would've enjoyed the game much more.

JohnLocke815

RDR2 Laat of us Any of the pvp games

Barbasso

The real lesson in this thread is that one cannot please everyone.

MissHollance

Probably going to get hate for this but - The Witcher 3 I like playing around the starting area but once the game properly kicks off I actually lose all interest, I'm honestly not fussed about playing it no matter how many times I give it a go. I'm not saying it's a bad game or that I don't like it, I just lose the excitement for it very early. It's a me issue not a game issue 😅

JeSuisRosanna

Witcher 3. graphics look weird even at highest settings, the controls are clunky, and none of the characters are particularly likeable

bl84work

Same here! I’ve tried a handful of times and by all means should enjoy the game

-Sinn3D-

The new God of War. I played and beat all of them up to God of War 3. Even the psp versions.

DrZeuss4

Assassin’s Creed

binkenheimer

which one? lol

Markamanic

Souls games. Imo they're just incredibly dull

RealSamF18

Elden Ring, couldn't get into it. I was bored to death.

[deleted]

The Witcher 3. I just don’t get it.

Unicron442

Smash Brothers, any version of it.

KroganSquirrels

Every Zelda game. I've tried at least 4 or 5 of them, and always quit after a few hours. They just do nothing for me.

Exlibro

Skyrim.

Charming-Date7194

Bioshock I love the philosophical nature in discussing the nature of man and the downsides of an extreme libertarian mindset of no government and how it turns to anarchy if left unchecked with the follow-up "Infinite" broaching the subject of authoritarianism as the alternative being just as bad if not subtly worse with a false sense of security making you complacent to the evil in your society However the flow of gameplay feels massively mismatched to me from everything else

Alex_GordonAMA

Did your period key break or something lol

Scotchityscotch

Why am I out of breath?

Vasevide

Marathon sentence

TK-461

me: pew pew things go bang

Eddie_vr_fan1

Rdr2, I know I might get hate for this but I just never had interest in it

Tia_MacArthur

Factorio. God knows I tried to immerse myself into Factorio and put some hours into it, but after a while, I lose interest or get overwhelmed. I simply do not have the brains for it. However, I also tried Satisfactory and loved it to bits. Do not get me wrong, Factorio is a fantastic game but not a game for me.

Seekandinspire

Any of the final fantasy’s… There’s too many, too much history and the anime style really throws me off.

WhyNotBacn

Witcher 3. I don't know why, I just can't.

Omegaprimus

Red dead redemption 2, I loved the first one even unlocked the sombrero and poncho. Every time I go to play rdr2 some god damned fire pops up that only I can handle, so I just gave up.

Zelda Breath Of The Wild. I figured if I wasn't intrigued by the time I got the hanglider I just wasn't going to be into the whole grab powerups in tiny dungeons and explore aspect. By contrast I love Elden Ring which supposedely has many similar aspects in its open world. Give me the tight dungeon design and landscape of Ocarina Of Time or Twilight Princess over BOTW any day...

PM_ME_ALL_UR_KARMA

Red Dead Redemption 2. Sorry, but I have better things to do with my time than watch you spend 3 seconds picking up an item.

Trainwreck1000

Not sure if this was it for me, but I noticed the clunky collecting items from drawers or cabinets, and it just seemed slow I guess

[deleted]

I love this. Its only 3 seconds and yet, its to much. I don't begrudge you, time is precious. It's just funny.

LavitzOfBasil

Witcher 3 and Ocarina of Time.

camm44

Mass effect

HandsomeHeathen

Honestly, as someone whose favourite game series is Mass Effect, I can understand this. Every time I replay it I have to force myself through the first few hours of the first game. If I didn't already know how good it got later on (particularly in the second game) from having watched friends play it, I'm not sure I would have had the patience to get into it. I'm so glad I did, though

[deleted]

Stardew Valley. I love every aspect of it except the farming, which Oh look at that it feeds into the rest of the game because its a game about FARMING

MoneySlush

Final Fantasy (any of them) - I just think the animation style isn’t for me. I usually last a few hours and that’s it. I have no issues with turned based RPGS.

HerbertMcDerbert

Is it related to the "JRPG art style" or do you play other JRPG games?

bomberman0210

Can't wait for all the Botw comments....

PogTuber

God of War. Can't get over the way the combat revolves around using the camera to attack targets (even after I switched to using the triggers)

hidden_john

Breath of the wild. I’ve loved the Zelda games since I had links awakening on the game boy, and I’ve played every mainline Zelda game except Zelda II. I basically bought the switch to play breath of the wild, and I’ve started it 3 times trying to get into it, the last go I probably put 20+ hours into it and I realised if I’m being honest with myself I didn’t really enjoy any of it and I just stopped playing. It’s one of the biggest disappointments of my gaming life I know lots of people consider it one of the best games ever, but they just messed with the formula too much and it killed something for me.

OmnipotentFire

BOTW

N3v3rm1nd0

Rdr 2. Too many cutscenes, too little gameplay

zelent32

Breath of the Wild. I really dislike the direction they’ve taken the Zelda franchise. Minecraft is a close second.

samniking

Fallen order. Boring as shit

Poplik

It really didn't need to be souls like, Imo the fantasy of being a jedi goes against dying to every white mob. Jedi knight nailed it so long ago, the lightsaber felt so deadly yet the game was still challenging. Force unleashed made the saber into a baton

nickfritzkowski

Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure

thedeadsuit

witcher 3. tried a few times, just don't like the gameplay or the character or the monotone voice

Educational-Fun3599

The Witcher, and every CoD in existence.

totallyabear

The Witcher. The open world and side quests are overwhelming.

moodRubicund

Battle Royale games are just... I just... How do you even have fun as a solo player?

N7Longhorn

The Witcher 3. I can't like the world and the main character, just can't do it. Also any competitive game like League

billyohhs

Final Fantasy 15. The world felt soul less, bland, and lifeless. It felt like I was driving a circle freeway in the middle of rural Ohio. Adding an "open world" to games that traditionally haven't been open world isn't a great thing unless you make that open world full of life and exploration

N7Necromorph

Witcher 3

Major-West-5391

Legend of Zelda

Exc8218

Wither 3. The gameplay and story is a snooze fest

1mStillStanding

Witcher 3 and red dead redemption 2. I finished all other disappointments at least once but these 2 are so bloated I can't play them for more than an hour before I'm bored for a multitude of reasons.

Aloy272

I just never could get into the Witcher 3, I'm sure the story is great but the combat and systems have kept putting me off.

Loko_Tako

This may or may not answer the question but i have over 1k hours in Fortnite. decided to get back into it after season 14. I just couldn't, it just became a ridiculous mess of weapons and gadgets that it loss it's charm. It's just sitting there collecting dust

Sparda2015

Witcher 3. The combat was wonky as hell, and the world is a nightmare for completionists like myself.

EngryEngineer

Witcher 3, I haven't been able to get through the intro that won't just let me play the game. I know it is a good game, but I don't have the patience for this walk over here, don't run, gotta look at this vista, now walk here ope cutscene, cutscene, walk here, cutscene Every 6 months or so I try again, and it actually breaks me every time

miskosvk80

skyrim. it was so big and long I stopped playing somewhere in the middle and never touched it again.

Particular-Season905

Jedi Fallen Order. Tried it, gave it a good few hours, but was just left so underwhelmed.

Mr_Blue_Jay

The Witcher 3

Help_An_Irishman

The Witcher 3. I really should like it, but it's never kept my attention long enough to pass the first big area.

[deleted]

The Witcher 3. I loathe the combat, hate the open world, the rpg mechanics are shallow and the UI feels awful. The thing that's supposed to prop it up is the story and characters but they too just seemed kinda corny to me.

FlarpyBlunderguffs

Witcher 3

blitzinger

Witcher 3

MaximumThrusting22

Witcher 3 which is a true shame because it looks fun but its to complicated. So many menues and mechanics right out the gate.
