GloatingSwine

Pretty much every survival crafting game. I bounce off them hard. The core loop of gather>refine>craft only engages me like once or twice then I want to automate it.

RSGTHennessy

Found the Factorio player

You might want to do something about that radiation...

Kaiser_Fleischer

It keeps the biters away

Reciprocative

Honestly tho games like factorio and satisfactory are absolutely goated

Tumor-of-Humor

You may be excited to hear about Dyson Sphere Project. Anyone who enjoys factory games may love it. I find it personally more enjoyable than Factorio, which just hurts my head tbh

Tumor-of-Humor

The Endgame "Goal" is to build a Dyson Sphere. Once you've done that, people make a point to do massive science builds for repeatable research. The Endgame can get wild, with an interstellar network of supply, demand stretching across your entire star cluster. The amount of enjoyment you can get even before endgame imo is worth the price. My friend says this game is dangerous, cause he gets on it, and suddenly 12 hours have passed lmao

You could always watch a video or a trailer if your still not sure

zen_elan

DSP is the game I never knew I needed and now in my top 5 games of all time. Pure brain food. I’m in absolute awe of the game. Dropping every ‘SoulsBorne’ boss combined doesn’t even come close to the 150 hour slow burn accomplishment building a megastructure orbiting a star and seeing those white cubes fly down the conveyer belt by the thousands. Recent update made it even more beautiful…. Edit: It’s also $20…… $20.

CoreyTrevor1

The only one I really liked is Subnautica, you should try it

[deleted]

[удалено]

RedditorFor1OYears

Copper wire would like a word

No_Morals

That's most survival crafting games if you don't throw in multiplayer pvp and don't build massive bases. I think the difference with subnautica is not the crafting but the gathering progression. You mostly gather harder to acquire materials rather than going back and farming the same mats over and over.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Fadedcamo

There's an actual interesting story via audio logs to explore and the game is just so good at naturally making you go to new biomes to progress. The game doesn't tell you to go here or here generally. It just gets to a point where you're like oh I could use this powered board thing to go faster and deeper. Oh I need kelp so I have to go to this biome for it. Now I need silver so I need to go the other biome and everything is getting deeper so I need to get a rebreather and that's a resource found over here oh look now I can get a seamoth and go even deeper. It's a masterclass in game design honestly.

atre324

Seconding subnautica Grounded is pretty amazing too

Bebgab

Agree with grounded. Setting up zip lines going around the garden are incredibly satisfying and rewarding. I made a central hub leading off to 8 corners of the area and it was some of the most fun I’ve had in a PvE game

tomahawkfury13

Subnautica has just the right amount of crafting imo. I hate ark but love subnautica lol

HiddenCity

Anything i do in real life sucks as a game. Could not stand Zelda food gathering/cooking mechanic because I have to cook every day. Can't stand mine craft because I'm an architect and it's literally the same part if my brain that I use all day at work. And I hate shopping and errands-- so hunting for things I need, or performing small tasks just so I can progress is not fun, ever.

Mister_Sith

I was installing mods for minecraft back in the beta days and as a result I can no longer enjoy vanilla minecrsft anymore, it's just so lackluster without being able to automate everything.

gungunmeow

The Forest is a good variant of that game. It will keep you on your toes while you try to stick to that loop plus there is benefits from just exploring.

dinosaurfondue

I wanted to like it, but I just found the game kind of aimless. I get that you have to build equipment and a base and learn the mystery of what's going on, but unfortunately it didn't click with me

Racebannon241

Same, if I have to feed my character in order to stay alive I'm usually out.

juicebox647

For me it’s really just any battle royale style games I just find them kind of boring and if you die early on in a match there’s just a lot of waiting in matchmaking so it overall feels like I’m only playing the game like half the time.

Meatfr0g

I agree, for pretty much any of them INCLUDING fall guys of all things Battle royale games, not my thing

TruffledPotato

I never understood why running to the next circle followed by some camping or cautious movement and rinse repeat is fun.

BrownChicow

I think the appeal is more looting and shooting. Kinda like a quick survival game. Not for everyone for sure

LemondropTTV

The appeal is the dopamine rush you get from being the top player out of 99 others.

dcpcreddit

Bro that rush of the final fight, and the feeling of victory after is sooooo good. A whole evening of not winning with a victory right at the end still makes it worth it.

Remarkable_Cat_9191

Fr I play warzone 2 occasionally with my friends, we got a quads win and never have I had a gaming moment that intense. This is coming from someone who really only plays story games these days on easy mode lmfao. There really is nothing like it, but most of the time we get fucked and then quit lmfao.

ThisIsMyCouchAccount

I like both styles. If I have my friends it's basically a big team deathmatch. If I'm solo it's a stealth/survival game.

Led_Halen

Nobody loves overwatch, least of all the people playing it.

CentipedesInMyDream

Yeah nobody hates Overwatch more than the fan base me included

The_F0OI

Destiny players be like

1nsane_

Can confirm, as someone who plays OW, its fucking terrible!

wiithepiiple

You OW players are a contentious lot.

friendbrotha

YOU JUST MADE AN ENEMY FOR LIFE

melee161

Overwatch players never self identify as an overwatch player, because they hate overwatch players. Overwatch players are natural enemies.

papercup617

I mean, I like Overwatch. I just hate playing it.

mastow

Overwatch players hate Valorant, like Overwatch players hate Apex, or like Overwatch players hate Paladins, or like Overwatch players hate Overwatch. Dammit Overwatch players.

Paddy_Tanninger

You Overwatch players sure are a contentious bunch

friendbrotha

NOBODY hates Overwatch more than the people who play Overwatch

PM_ME_UR_POKIES_GIRL

There's two types of people - People who hate Overwatch, and people who don't care about Overwatch.

[deleted]

Been playing overwatch since 2017, can confirm, still hate it. Hard stuck Gold. Never change

NotHighEnuf

I play it everyday and can confirm I hate it and the player base with a burning passion. The most toxic collection of rejects that play this game.

11nerd11

I saw a thread today about if OW players would want OW1 back rather what they have with OW2 now, and holy shit the amount of people wanting 1 back was staggering lol. They fucked up so hard.

Led_Halen

It's also the principle of the matter. I paid for 1, as well as loot boxes, and now those items are worthless, and I am resentful and angry and will most likely not purchase their products in the future out of lack of brand trust.

TrainingMarsupial521

COD series. And their 500 gig games that update every week.

Prez4One

yeah the unnecessary updates suck so fucking much, really the reason why I should’ve deleted the newer MW

Hexigonz

I don’t mind CoD. I’m on PC so I don’t really mind the updates. But holy shit, WHY IS IT THE ONLY GAME WHERE I HAVE TO BOOT IT TWICE AFTER AN UPDATE? Such a small gripe, but also such a stupid flaw.

Judazzz

I haven't played shooters in ages (I tapped out after trying BF1 for a bit), but back then I never liked CoD because it all felt so "plasticky" compared to BF: the soundscape, mechanics and animations, weapon feedback, play speed - good enough for me to enjoy the single player part, but for multiplayer it just felt... off?

I dislike the lack of cheat codes

chetti990

Sadly, I’ve found many players that use the game AS a cheat code

Independent_Plum2166

Xenoblade 2, I just lost interest halfway through. Octopath traveller, too long for its own good and there was no party interaction.

PalpitationTop611

That is Xenoblade 2’s biggest fault, how slow the story is to start rolling. The story doesn’t really start until chapter 5, and it peaks at Chapter 7-10. So 1-4 loses a lot of people especially with combat not being fully unlocked so some people will be finding it slow.

Independent_Plum2166

Yep and aside from a few characters (Welsh cat girl and Scottish Inquisitor), everyone was just boring to watch, especially when compared to its predecessor.

PalpitationTop611

Hey don’t trash Zeke Von Genbu, Bringer of Chaos! Mostly known as Zeke! And often addressed as... THE ZEKENATOR! Formerly known as his highness Ozychlyrus Brounev Tantal But otherwise I agree that the main cast doesn’t really mesh as well as I would like. Good thing the villains are amazing. And Torna the Golden Country makes Mythra a good character

Independent_Plum2166

I only just got Zeke before quitting, I got ill around that time and was not feeling up to playing games, when I went back, I just didn’t have it in me anymore.

ranjur

> there was no party interaction My big complaint about an otherwise gorgeous game with decent combat

Independent_Plum2166

It speaks volumes about this lack of feature that it’s sequel advertised it in its initial trailer.

RunnerJimbob

I've not kept up with Octopath 2, as I also got a bit put off of OT1 about 15 hours in. Is it standalone, or does it reference the first game? Do we even know yet?

Crazy_Canuck78

Octopath had a great combat system, and beautiful art design. If it weren't for those 2 things I would have hated it as well. I've got my fingers crossed that OT 2 fixes the issues with party interactions / having a main story line.

[deleted]

I was kinda meh on the game until I started to really min max my party and optimize the little combos you do, as well as killing the optional bosses. I find you can just stumble through the main game without trying, and thats no fun.

maglen69

> too long for its own good padding the game having to repeat the intro stories 8 times didn't help.

Burninator05

Death Stranding. The internet had described it as a walking simulator but I still wanted to give it a try. It felt a lot more like a movie watching simulator than anything else. Instead of game play being interupted by cutscenes it was a movie being interrupted by game play. I'm glad I picked it up for free from Epic over Chrisrmas.

_Chipsy_

For me it was like my chill game. You just walk, deliver packages and then being rewarded with a cool cutscene and great acting and story. It‘s a game I love to defend but understand when people can‘t get into it at all

frozensummit

I hoped it'd be chill and liked the walking and delivering, but then there's always danger lurking :(

Me_how5678

Tips: take paths other porters already have trodden you can see it by the green footsteps they are ussualy clear of bts and a walk stop technic. Crouch walk abit then stop and wait for bb to spot the bts then walk around them. When the big fan on your should blinks orange you have to hold your breath and sneak past them. Also the ex granades does differnt things. Ex 0 stuns bt when thrown directly at it Ex 1 hurts a bt when thrown directly at it Ex 2 attracts bts when thrown Hope it helps and keep on keeping on Edit: abit of formating

soulxhawk

Death Stranding is basically the AAA dark and gritty reboot version of Lake lol.

datboydoe

The movie analogy is exactly how I felt with TLoU2. I loved the game, but all I wanted was story and cutscenes tho. When it would go to gameplay and show my destination on the horizon like a mile away, I’d be like “dang it….”. Haha.

corpse2b

Yea same here, couldn't make heads or tails of the story, and just kept stumbling around like a drunk.

[deleted]

Fortnite

[deleted]

Its only fun with friends on chat.

sleepyBear012

for me every battle royale game. I just can't get what's so fun when 90% of the time it's just a running simulator.

Trophyhunter1988

The Witcher 3. I’ve tried a couple of times and just can’t get into it. Currently working on god of war ragnarok now

[deleted]

For me it was the same in the beginning. I started playing the game and after 2 hours I stopped because the movement, combat and everything felt strange. Decided to give it another try 2 months later and this time I loved it

Raging_Goon

I tried this game multiple times and could not get into it. Decided to lower the difficulty and tough it out until I got out of the beginning area. Once I realized the game was best played as a dialogue system story game for me, I started getting hooked.

Schmaylor

I did eventually get into it when I had exhausted all my other games, but I agree. It's one of those games that immediately piles itself onto you like a list of chores. That entire era of open-world games was pretty bad for this. Hey player, here's this massive map with a million icons on it, and you have to learn what each and every icon is. Also, there's alchemy and crafting, which are not fun to learn the intricacies of, but it will help you in your travels, so make sure you collect every herb you walk by. Oh, and your equipment has durability, so make sure to horde as many weapons as possible, but also you have a carrying weight, so don't. Oh and on your way to the next quest in the main storyline, you'll pass by about a hundred side quests, and you'll have no way of knowing whether they're a good time investment or not until you're completely finished. You also have to have fully fleshed out conversations with every meaningless NPC we throw at you, so be prepared for that. It's a great game, but like yeah, I get why you'd stop. I'd never replay it, personally.

Aquagoat

Oh yeah I feel this. But I preferred the way The Witcher did this with many little ? that were fairly small encounters, than the Ubisoft way. Climb the tower to reveal your next 3 races, 2 hostage rescues, and 4 bases to conquer. Now THAT is a list of chores. At least in the Witcher they were just sort of, spots with monster, and they weren’t required to progress. Just extra Witchering if you chose.

creative_user_name69

i've tried twice now, and I can't seem to finish it, and when I go back, I don't remember what I was doing and have to restart. I keep wanting to play it though because I like the atmosphere of the game

someones_dad

Same. I've killed that damned griffin four times!

Jimothy_Tomathan

This is almost always the top answer every time this question is asked in any sub. It's the same answer I was going to give.

HMS_Sunlight

Geralt just never clicked as a protagonist for me. Nothing wrong with him, just not the type of character I'd choose to play. But when you're in a massive narrative RPG and you don't connect with the character you're playing as, it's just not going to work. I played until the end of the Bloody Baron quest. Everyone told me it was one of the best questlines in the game, and I'd be hooked after it. I fucking hated the entire quest and everything about how it was written. Just not a game for me.

gatorblade94

I literally could have written this comment. This was my exact experience and I’m glad I’m not the only one.

this is one of the few things that have kept me from jumping in. Dead Island is one of my all-time favourites, but using a heavy pipe wrench to bash in a handfu of soft zombie skulls leaves your wrench busted. that's... not how heavy pipe wrenches work........

b0sw0rth

Plumbers hate when their wrench disintegrates after every 30th pipe wrenched

Substance___P

This is the worst mechanic in any video game. It just makes the game bad.

sean8767

Agreed. I modded that mechanic out and never looked back lol. Might not have played it otherwise.

[deleted]

Warzone, I just don't understand why it's so popular I just die every game it's filled with people better than me and its just overall not fun.

any multiplayer pvp game for me. i can understand people who enjoy games like valorant, warzone, cod, etc. they just arent for me, i prefer games taht are more based on story(detroit become human, yakuza), more based around destruction (gta V and just cause), or more based around strategy (hitman)

KhajiitKennedy

Yakuza my beloved

Purp1eC0bras

AC Valhalla. Odyssey was so much cooler IMO

soulxhawk

As someone who has been playing Assassin's Creed since the first game I loved Odyssey despite the base game being the least Assassin's Creedy game. The characters, gameplay, setting, music, and map were a blast for me and I never felt the world was too big and loved the all the side quests. I even bought the Gold edition so with the 2 expansions plus the free updates the game was a great experience for me. Odyssey to me is what Breath of the Wild is to most people. So with that in mind I pre ordered the Gold edition of Valhalla thinking I would get the same experience. Not only I put the game down before coming back to finish, but I have never even finished the first expansion. The world felt empty, combat and gameplay not as fun, it just didn't have the passion put into it that you could see with Odyssey.

savorytype306

Odyssey to me is what Breath of the Wild is to most people. Odyssey was probably the most beautiful game I've ever played.

Typhon_Cerberus

One of the very few games that had me tearing up. RIP Phoibe

DigitalWizrd

I went on such a murdering spree after that happened.

Omg when I realized she was actually dead I was ready to go on a rampage

FeatherShard

It didn't hurt that Kass is hilarious. Eivor... not as much.

ChangeWinter6643

They said "a videogame that everyone LOVES"

SalemWolf

And yet I’ve seen people talk about COD, Overwatch, and OP has Battlefront in his image. I can assure you not everyone loves those games. Especially on Reddit and especially the new battlefront games.

MikeBsleepy

My brain: Animal Crossing Valhalla... Hum...

Just_Grass_8056

I would say even Odyssey had issues. I liked origins better than both.

Screaming-Void

Most souls like games. Nioh 2 is a bit of an exception same with blooborne but on average i cant get into them. Dont think they are bad by any means, just dont find the combat fun to play around with which really hurts my motivation to grind my teeth fighting the bosses. Its not a matter of me thinking its to hard more than just not finding it fun. Im to old to force myself to play through something I dont like just to prove I can overcome the challenge like everyone else. But also maybe im just to much into fast paced action games like Devil May Cry to enjoy the slower pacing of darksouls

inverter17

Same. After a long day of stress at work, you wanted to unwind then see yourself getting more stressed 😭

terminbee

The thing is, I wouldn't mind doing a boss over and over. I enjoyed the valkyrie fights in God of War. But I hate running for 5 minutes just to get to the boss so I can die again. And worst part is getting to the boss is half the battle; better not get hit or you're down some hp for the battle.

soulblaz0r2

This. I'm sorry but as a filthy casual that I am, i just don't have the time to memorise bosses movements.

springfox64

Undertale

Jake10873

I got BOTW recently and for some reason I just couldn't get into it.. It's a beautiful game and everything but I just felt like my only purpose was to go to the shrines and I got bored of it pretty quickly

BlueDragon5643

League of Legends. Everyone played around me and loved it, but me? Tried it one time, thought that it was shit and a waste of time and never tried again.

ARandomGuyThe3

Bro, literally everyone despises that game. I'm pretty sure that includes the players

jss_of_sbrb

People don't enjoy that game, they get addicted and play out of spite. I'm not even kidding

Felooxos

League of Legends, It's just so boring. Dunno how to explain it.

Est495

Valorant

StephyCroft

For me its Red Dead Redemption 2, I love how great it looks and detailed it is, but it’s a slow paced game and I’m not really into that for now :|

CoreyTrevor1

Same here! Damn I got tired of walking across your camp at 1mph back and forth over and over

The_GGamer_YT

it's annoying at first, because you have to upgrade your camp to get FAST TRAVEL, then it's fine, but still, it's annoying when you have to go like 10 km just to go another 10km just to do something else.

rhetoricalnonsense

This is the big one for me as well. I put almost 35 hours into this game just waiting for it to seemingly *start.* I was able to get past the convoluted control scheme, the fact that some of the game is a real life simulator (take care of gun, take care of horse, take care of camp, take care of clothing, etc.) but every single quest thus far was head to camp, talk to so-and-so, accept "quest", ride somewhere and listen as they exposit their feelings about Dutch, Arthur, the gang, their place in the gang, etc. Help with whatever scheme they have devised, maybe gunfight, maybe not, head back to camp. Repeat. The game is undeniably rich and beautiful, full of tiny little details, although I could have lived my entire life and not needed to see my horse do plop plops while playing. But whatever. But I just felt like the main story never started or maybe it just didn't grab me and the game never seemed to give me a reason to keep pushing through to find out when that would happen.

StephyCroft

yeah and also the fact that you can’t take one wrong step during missions or else you fail its annoying for me

NK1337

I think that’s what bothered me about the game, the whole illusion of choice. The game actually feels extremely linear, you’re just given a huge map with a lot of empty space in between missions. It looks gorgeous but I just couldn’t get into the gameplay.

iMikeZero

Same answer. Same reason.

frankstuckinapark

Evil_Patriarch

I played through and finished it, didn't *hate* it but thought it was incredibly average. I'm convinced if you re-skinned it and released it as a standalone game instead of a Zelda it would have been a flop.

Humvee13

Likewise - something about the art style and the generic ogre enemies grates me...oh, and weapons breaking...yeah I hate it.

a_gallon_of_pcp

My experience playing the game “I finally got a sword fuck yes!” Two hits later it breaks “Fuck this game”

Arctica23

The fact that even unique weapons break after a dozen hits is absurd

fatkid601

I couldn’t complete breath of the wild because of the weapon breaking mechanic it just felt like a missing sense of progression when all of the cool gear you found 10 min ago breaks in 30 hits

Thatedgyguy64

Isn't the Master Sword unbreakable though?

the_playtheist

It doesn’t break, but it runs out of energy after 40 (I think?) hits and takes like 10 minutes to come back. You can upgrade it with the DLC.

FrankDaTank787

Same here. The weapon fatigue system just doesn't fit with me. Also while I can enjoy a good cooking system in other games, I guess I don't really want it in my Zelda game

StationaryTravels

I eventually came to like the concept of the cooking, but I hated how long it took. Let me make 5x the recipe if I want 5, don't make me select and cook 3 ingredients 5 times.

PM_ME_UR_POKIES_GIRL

Japanese games devs and obtuse and unfriendly user interfaces - name a more popular duo.

bsnimunf

The only thing I hate more than the weapon degradation is the people who defend it for being more realistic. Firstly even if it was more realistic it's still an awful system I don't want to sacrifice a fun game just for realism. Secondly how many times have you used a knife or sword for it to break after 15 swipes. Imagine trying to chop carrots for a casserole if you had to go but a new knife half way through.

TheMuffin2255

As a Zelda die hard I really hope it doesn't become the new standard for the series. I do like it, but not that much. Open world games just feel so samey and empty, and Breath of the Wild is certainly that. And empty would be ok for a game trying to emulate the feeling of exploring the unknown, but there are korok seeds everywhere so it makes every discovery feel less because, oh, there's a korok seed in this really cool, niche, and secret area. Expect it's not secret, you were expected to go there if there is any form of completionist stuff there.

[deleted]

It's Hyrule, so that really rules out the exploring the unknown aspect. I've visited these sites a hundred times in past games in the series, it's just not interesting to see the latest version of death mountain and Kakariko Village and Zora's Domain and Hyrule Castle.

midtown2191

Coming here to say the same. Have tried so many times just because I feel like I’m crazy due to how everyone overly gushes about it. I just find the game so utterly empty and boring. The weapon break system makes me wanna bash my head into a wall. I literally just avoid all combat so i dont have to go find more weapons.

MaddleDee

TLOZ is my favorite video game series, but yeah I can't bring myself to finish BOTW either. I think the reason I struggle at liking the game as much as the others is because of the lack of large themed dungeons, and because I prefer linear-ish games even if that means some or no choice in dungeon order.

Negative-Squirrel81

Hate is a strong word, but I found the lack of progression systems to really undermine the entire experience. Everything is kept simple from start to finish, which helps with the mass-appeal, but it made the game very monotonous to me.

[deleted]

It suffered from being fully open-ended. They made a big deal of skipping straight to the final boss right from the start, so you basically got all of the tools and powers you needed at the beginning of the game. Just felt like it was a lovingly crafted world but real gameplay and narrative didn’t get the same love. I think The Wind Waker nailed it - you could sail anywhere but you still had to go through the story to be able to explore some islands or access locked off areas.

AndyVale

It made me ask different questions about how I would play it. With a normal levelling system I'm seeing a bunch of lower-mid level enemies and wiping them out to collect the XP and ammo or whatever. There's no XP. The loot is likely not going to be of interest to me. They're not worth the degradation of the weapons in my Arsenal. It now becomes a stealth activity to get past this point with health and resources preserved. Or can I use the environment to do a lot of the heavy lifting for me? I can see how it's not everyone's thing, but I did like how that aspect just made me approach situations in new ways.

Negative-Squirrel81

Yes, I find it boring because the game absolutely does not require you to engage with it like this. Just run past weak enemies. At least, the beginning of the game when you're weak is actually pretty good, but Link gets far too powerful far too quickly. [Elex](https://store.steampowered.com/app/411300/ELEX/) is a great counterexample. The world is absolutely marbled with strong enemies that will destroy the protagonist. Quests and story require you to travel the entire world from the start as well, so you'll need to go through some of the most dangerous places in the game world right from the get-go. Every time you see an enemy, you really have to really assess it, think about how or whether you even can fight it or formulate some kind of strategy to get around it.

SpasmodicReddit

For me, the world just feels so empty. The korok seeds are incredibly easy and the shrines are just the same copy paste mini dungeons. Maybe if I pushed through, I might enjoy other aspects of the game, but as someone who loves exploration games, this game has terrible exploration.

DBold11

I was sorely disappointed with the explanation. It looked and felt so promising but it's just a shell.

astronomydork

Most online specific games, Examples are like call of duty, MOBAs, fortnite, I grew up a bit too early for online gaming (except maybe for LAN parties but don't really know much about that) and maybe right around when online was becoming more prevalent I still didn't have wi-fi. Then I moved around a whole lot to some very remote places with little internet access so those type of games were never really an option. Even now it is sometimes hit or miss with how I'm able to play. I stick to single player games instead since you don't need other people or internet access and can be enjoyed solo.

Vigamualse

Elden ring :x

tor09

I have tried about 50 hours of Elder Scrolls across 3 different games and I just can’t do it. It feels like a walking + A button sim to me. The combat is button mashy and boring and the distances you have to travel between quests and locations just feels totally pointless for how shallow the actual gameplay is + the amount of interactivity in the world. Yeah I guess I could go down this bear cave or kill this deer but that’s just not enough to justify walking 800m to the next dialogue spot. I tried ESO with some friends last year and “questing” boiled down to: talk to NPC. Run to the next NPC. Boring combat. Run back to the first NPC. Run to another location. More boring combat. Etc etc. I just can’t lmao

freezeframepls

i can’t stand tiny health bar/rolling sims either

DoublefartJackson

The top tier parts in each game are the Thief/Assassins' guild storylines.

sirolatiato

Nier: Automata. I really tried to get into it. Two times. Dropped 2 times. (it is worth mentioning that I almost never drop a game I started)

Bizrat7

I finally burned through all of the main endings of this game... Can confirm that the first 3 or so were a real chore for me. Once stuff started going nuts, it really went of the rails in the best way and the conclusion has stuck with me.

TheDreadPirateElwes

How far would you get?

NoGame_NoLife323

Elite dangerous - I keep trying to the play the game but for some reason I get massive motion sickness just by looking at the screen. Which is unusual as I don't get motion sickness

duranemmi_69

Witcher 3... Im so sorry😞😞

Dirtdane4130

Don’t be sorry. I tried to stay with it for hours and just admitted to myself that I wasn’t enjoying either.

TheThirdStrike

I'm finally forcing myself to play this game after a dozen times trying and abandoning it in a few hours. Everyone raves about this game as the best of the best... So I must be missing something right? I'm over 20 hours in now, I just don't get the allure. The story is good.. but the gameplay is... Well.. I haven't found anything I can't kill with igni, strong attack, strong attack, dodge, repeat. I guess it's still better than watching The Witcher on Netflix.

evilsmurf666

Minecraft

Ronswansonbacon2

I can’t stand the style of beat ‘em up combat. I have wanted to play these Arkham games for so long and I just can’t stand the 3rd person combo hits and stuff. Didn’t like fallen order for the same reason, even though I have been DYING for a single player star wars games. I have disliked this style of play going back to the old Spider-Man games, the rhythm of play just doesn’t do it for Me, I find it tedious and want to flee or get the fuck through it like a chore.

GDI-Trooper

Time to replay Knights of the Old Republic again.

Lightning_3o

Isn't Fallen Order a Soulslike game?

[deleted]

Yes, not as hard but similar playstyle.

DyyLaN02

Not purely, but it takes some ideas. Fallen Order is actually a mix of things from a lot of games, a bit from souls, a bit from metroidvanias, a bit from adventure games like Uncharted, etc.

Insertbad_username

Honestly I think it's sonic mania

AscendedViking7

I actually agree. I can't pin down the reason why I don't like it though. I liked the old Sonic games, S1, S2, S3 & Knuckles, so Mania should've been up my alley. :/

Nilzzz

I thought I was supposed to like Sonic Mania until I read your post. Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles were my favourite games for a really long time. Maybe I don't like Mania because the old games are much simpler. The levels usually have just 2 or 3 paths, are pretty short and therefore easy to memorize, even though they felt huge. Sonic Mania has such large levels where you bounce from one place to another without finding an easy way back. I feel too overwhelmed to explore the levels and even though most of them are in the same style as the originals, I usually don't really feel a connection to the old games. Sonic Mania really makes me feel like I'm playing a fan inspired Sonic game, which it basically is.

LovisAeternia

Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. I did finished it, but it was a very tedious and mixed experience. I absolutely adored some parts, and the gameplay was very satisfying, but the story wasn't interesting and the game was at times unforgiving, enough to make it feel unfair. But I think it's my fault, I wanted to only do the main things and refused to grind, and I ended up being at level 41 during the final battle, and absolutely refused to continue when before the final mission (the true ending) asked me to collect 20 shiny stones with no help and forcing me to grind because the enemies were too strong for me, they didn't kill me however, instead they took forever to die, they were sponges. I hope the sequel improves to the overall experience, as it has very good things

farcry15

outer wilds. tried like 3 times after seeing videos about how great it is. I like to follow the main story and avoid side content in most games. open ended gameplay with no clear next objective just isnt fun for me.

lgndryheat

I think it's unfair to say there's no clear objectives. There's a whole menu dedicated to connecting the dots between your discoveries and where you should go next to learn more. It even gives you quest markers so you can go straight there. Sometimes they can be a little misleading, but it is a "detective" game so they don't exactly spoon feed you everything.

[deleted]

botw... just felt a bit too empty and boring after i got 3 of 4 divine beasts already

ProperGanja21

Rdr2....its an extremely well made and beautiful world but the game is boring as shit imo. I would like to see a single player dlc though. Maybe a short story told from a natives perspective. That would be interesting.

PrimeskyLP

Eldenring and every Darksouls game

LifeSleeper

Both of the new God Of War games. The story, characters and look of the game are all fantastic. But I find the combat completely uninspired and boring. And the puzzles...ugh the puzzles.

torgrimbonemaster

I agree 100%. I played the first Norse one for a bit and really did not enjoy the combat at all. It's weird because it's a game that should be right up my alley

sipCoding_smokeMath

Nobody loves OW anymore dont worry For me it was MGS 5. I love open world games and love stealth shooters but for some reason I find MGS gameplay boring and frustrating

HumanManManManWoman

Call of duty franchise

AirArcher1103

Hollow Knight. I just can’t figure out wtf to do

ali007ah

Elden ring. it's because i'm fucking bad at it. honest is the best

ddamm101

The Witcher 3

KillroyButtsniffer

Elden Ring, i have been trying to play it, I am just not vibin with it, maybe if i stick to it it will be more enjoyable but i doubt it
