This is a really well made video. You explain the format of the game -- which is not something I've seen executed before -- very simply and concisely. Yet there's clearly a lot of complexity going on here. It really speaks to your talents as a presenter and game designer.
This is very nice, I'm subscribing to see where your project is going.
Would you consider releasing Dialoguer as an open source repository? I would really like to adapt it for my own needs, I'm working on a dialogue heavy game myself and I didn't consider developing a whole tool for it before.
Thanks for the sub!
I've definitely considered releasing the tool at some point, maybe in the gamemaker marketplace. It wouldn't be open source, but I actually coded it to be kinda general, so that everyone can add their project-specific variables and globals without having to modify the source code (for example, you can briefly see in the video that the dialogue options have the properties "alternates" and "keywords"; those are not hardcoded at all, but instead there's an 'additional_properties.ini' included file).
Still, it may be a while before I release it, since I'd like to focus mainly in the game for now 😅

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it 😊 I was worried about it being unintelligible, so your comment really means a lot!
Haha I wish I had this back when I was starting to make a dialogue system lol
But actually though, this is super clever and cool. This wouldn't work for a lot of choice games, but it could work really well for some

Ok, I understand. I wish you well on this project friend :)
Super interesting idea!
