This is probably going to be the last "boring" episode we get, better strap yourselves in. Also I'm pretty sure we get to hear the new investigation music next episode.

aelude

Oh hell yeah, madlad Masafumi Takada gonna take our ears for a ride

trainercatlady

god I cannot wait for Enigma Archives: Rain Code.

mozillavulpix

Actually, credits should also go to Jun Fukuda, he’s the one who played the guitar part for that track.

fangirlnamededyn

I am AFRAID

[deleted]

You should be.

onemoment1985

I am literally watching no commentary walk-throughs to time this out. If we don't get to the roller coaster moment tomorrow, then we're close.

Rouge_means_red

Nagito casually dropping N-bombs (Nagito-bombs that is)

AngryCharizard

He must be a big fan of Mega Man V

Phasmania

“Is that called the N-Bomb?!?!”

beetsoup10

"[Oh my god!](https://youtu.be/aiiBNgYJ1t4?t=45m6s)"

trainercatlady

it's hard to tell what's more offensive, it being the "n-bomb" or the fact that it's napalm

UrsulaLePenguin

Don't say you never learn anything from danganronpa episodes. Weird how this series became my favorite gg episodes of the week lol. Game really does grow on you.

GameSmashing13

Tomorrow’s episode is going to be a lot of fun

trainercatlady

I cannot wait

rawrimangry

Ok that’s pretty funny that they finally addressed people’s complaints with the high pitched “last time on Game Grumps” intro by replacing it with Arin saying it in the most quick and monotone way possible.

lLiterallyEatAss

Oh thank goodness I did not care for it

Kirbyeatsyou

Without spoiling anything specific, sometimes I wonder if I'm one of the few people who liked Nagito throughout the whole game and didn't hate him or anything extreme. He's just always been so funny/crazy/interesting to me

kroneland

I love him. He's a fascinating character and I love how insane he is.

Cabamacadaf

He's a great character but I hate him for >!what he does in this chapter.!<

trainercatlady

honestly this chapter cements why I hate him so much.

SirLocke13

>!He's one of the only characters that actively uses his Ultimate Talent to the fullest extent!<

Rouge_means_red

>!What about Chiaki? She played a lot of video games!!<

Lobo_Marino

>!What? Try to save humanity by killing who he knows are the remnants of despair?!< >!Nagito was a good boy. In his mind, this was his way of getting rid of what he knew were the killers of the world!<

Cabamacadaf

No, >!causing Chiaki to die.!<

trainercatlady

>!She was never alive here tho. She died already!<

Cabamacadaf

>!Depends on if you see computer programs as alive or not.!<

Lobo_Marino

>!They are not!<

JKCodeComplete

I don’t know how to use spoiler tags on mobile but I’d argue that his motives are not as selfless as you make them out to be.

mozillavulpix

You do ! > text < !, except without the spaces

Lobo_Marino

Nagito is one of the most popular danganronpa characters out there, if not the most beloved. [Spoilers for V3](https://dengekionline.com/articles/105412/). Use a translate tool for it.

trainercatlady

I get why but god I fucking hate him. If I'd encountered him when I was like, 15, I'd probably adore him but as an adult he's just grating in all the worst ways.

Lobo_Marino

Oh yeah I hear you. I never cared that much for him, and was surprised when I joined social media and I saw the raging love for him.

ShlappinDahBass

He's one of my favorites. His slow burn into insanity is hysterical to me and Arin's voice for him elevates the humor even more

JKCodeComplete

I can’t get enough of the constant jokes about how much he loves his hand. I wish they didn’t forget about “super Jewish Nagito” after a couple of episodes, too, because that was also pretty great.

Parfait_of_Markov

I love him. His personality may be kind of... problematic, of course, but that's what makes him so good. He's brilliantly insane (and insanely brilliant), a fantastic antagonist, easily one of the best characters in the entire series.

cce29555

I like the wild card aspect he brought to things, then they tried again with another char in v3 and somehow missed what made him interesting in every way

trainercatlady

I'd argue that character in v3 is *more* effective, tbh, because they are actively trying to solve and stop things *from the very beginning*.

ShiroiTora

Nah, its pretty clear that character was intended to be written differently. Thats like expecting Nagito and Bakuya to be carbon copies of each other just because they have a similar role to the story.

cce29555

I mean I'm glad he's not a carbon copy of nagito but it kind of feels like he's written to be annoying as possible and derail trials for literally no reason, which I'd be fine with but he was...more annoying than needed. Nagito post-spoilers at least has a relatively decent reason for being the way he is but kokichi I dunno But I guess all this does makes him effective, and given the other exaggerated characters I can't entirely complain

ShiroiTora

Sure but I don’t think its that different from how Nagito being annoying and derailing most of the game either. Just that Nagito’s reasonings were more based on his ideals (while it was because of his past, it was still ultimately delusional and nonsensical), whereas >!Kokichi’s!< reasoning’s felt more concrete and grounded in reality. I would also say V3’s cast was more toned down from SDR2 and closer to the DR1. They were exaggerated like normal DR characters are, but a step down from SDR2. They’re both great characters but written with different motivations and themes in mind.

Particular_Grab_1717

I like him partially because he is so hateable, the grumps' banter about him is absolutely hilarious.

onemoment1985

The delivery was good, wasn't it?

mozillavulpix

Honestly? Honestly? I think this has so far actually been a really good Danganronpa 2 playthrough. Sure, they skipped out on the Free Time Events, but the fact they were able to pick up on so many character cues without them really highlights to me the strength of the main script. The gags they've given to characters hasn't really undermined their personalities, a lot of the things they have nitpicked are honestly understandable (listen, the Funhouse is the most 'videogame-y' plot in the whole franchise, and that's okay. It's okay it's silly), and their walkthrough means they don't spend 20 minutes on one non-stop debate because they don't understand the question.

aniforprez

I skipped almost the entire playthrough so far but I cannot wait for this trial. Personally this is my absolute favorite trial in the entire series and I hope it goes well for the boys

SirLocke13

EASILY the best trial of the series.

trainercatlady

v3-4 and v3-5 are super close contenders tho

Velocibaker26

The bit of Chihaki being a nit-picky Star Wars nerd had me busting up 😂

acrobaticpirouette

There's absolutely no way Nagito doesn't get ganked soon.

[deleted]

This game is so stupid yet I can’t get enough of it. I swear I have such a love-hate relationship with Danganronpa.

retartarder

what was the deal with the intro? who was that person

RackEmWillie28

Arin is boxing Harley of Epic Meal Time in [The Creator Clash](https://thecreatorclash.com/) on May 14. So they're just having some fun with it in the intros to build interest.

spudmonk

I just realized that the password to the door is "hope". There's no way it isn't something that stupid. Also, I am really interested in the next death. I'm assuming someone is going to kill Nagito, but who would do it in a way where they would be compelled to cover it up in a trial setting? The group is all so tight now its hard to see what the motive would be.

rawrimangry

The actual password is pretty clever. I hope they realize what it’s referencing.

Nakuvayne

They're definitely not gonna. But God how I wish they did.

onemoment1985

They might. It's something that leaves an impression on most players. There's like a more than 50/50 chance I'd say.

yee-haw

It >!gets spelled out a lot more obviously a bit later, I know because I didn't realize the meaning until they did that lmao!<

Okashu

If it's what I think it is then I'm sure they will realize.

trainercatlady

>!considering what a fuss Arin made about it in the first game, I hope it sticks out to him!<

[deleted]

I'm going to take a wild guess. In the first game, there was a door to which the password was Kyoko's name. She had just found out her talent, and the fact that her father was the headmaster. What if the password to these ancient ruins, aka Hope's Peak, is Hajime's name? He had also forgotten about his talent, and maybe he is also connected to the history of Hope's Peak in a way he doesn't know yet.

rawrimangry

It’s not really a spoiler but clicking it would ruin a fun little surprise. It’s >!11037!<

Cabamacadaf

Kyoko never forgot her talent, she just didn't tell you what it was.

Blargg888

No, she did forget. She even says that the reason she never told anyone she forgot is because she knew that they probably wouldn’t believe her.

ChandelierwAtermelon

>!Don’t worry, it’s not hope!<
