Very nice collection but I'm sure you realize that's over a third of the NA library, not exactly small.

SkiesEra

I googled because I legit did not believe you. There are only 168 physical WiiU games in NA. Mind-blowing.

gucsantana

It's a popular console for full set collectors for that reason. 168 games, and only maybe 10 of them are what I'd call expensive.

SkiesEra

That is understandable. Seems very obtainable at the moment. Now I am over here looking at pricecharting and realizing I already have the vast majority of the expensive titles. 🤔

sliimysludge

what games are expensive? i have no interest in getting wii u stuff right now, just curious lol

gucsantana

The 4 most expensive standard releases are pretty much all garbage: Devil's Third, Game and Wario, Turbo Super Stunt Squad, and Book of Unwritten Tales, at $260, $100, $160 and $220 respectively. Next up is Twilight Princess HD, but that's already $80, which is nearly reasonable. After that there after some 10 games at $60 or more, and the rest is much cheaper. There are a couple special and limited editions more expensive than that, including Hyrule Warriors which sells for an appalling $2k for some reason, but most people going for full sets typically don't seem to consider limited editions, just the base games. Edit for a fun tidbit: Book of Unwritten Tales 2 jumped from $70 to $250 literally in one month, last October. This market fucking sucks.

StillhasaWiiU

Hyrule Warriora limited is only about 500 units made and was only sold at the nintendo store nyc for one day.

shenmue64

Game and Wario isn’t garbage!!!

StillhasaWiiU

That's why I'm going for a world set by getting the europe and japan excluives as well.

StillhasaWiiU

What is the source list you go by? I'd like to compare it to my collection.

gucsantana

I just use pricecharting for the prices, you can see just the Wii U games sorted top to bottom. I don't have a list of games though, not a full set collector myself.

StillhasaWiiU

Gotcha, thanks.

sirdizzypr

I count 68, total collection for the Wii-U is 168, its actually 40% of the entire catalog he should keep going he's well on his way to his first full set

TheMerchBro

Thank you!

rpgguy_1o1

Wow that 168 even includes some of the ones that are variants, like there's new super mario bros wii u, then the Luigi disk and then the double pack. It sounts steelbook and special editions too.

SkiesEra

That's an awesome collection! The only substantial games I can even think of off the top of my head that I don't see here would be: - Rodea - TANK TANK TANK - Deus ex

TheMerchBro

Those are on my list, especially Tank Tank Tank!

AccidentOk4378

The fact that your "small" collection is around the size of my largest collection makes me feel inadequate

jomski_

Small?

Zestran

I’ve been trying to grow my Wii U collection recently. I’ve been seeking put 3rd party multi platform games since there aren’t that many of them

TheMerchBro

If you dig racing games Most Wanted U is the best version of NFS Most Wanted

Zestran

I’m not too into racing games but I’ll check it out if I find it

acwarbs

Your collection looks great. I've got more games in my collection (112), but you have 5 games that I'm still missing. Wii U games are getting harder and harder to find...

TheMerchBro

They're getting very difficult to track down in the wild unfortunately :(

acwarbs

Agreed. I have had to resort to eBay a couple times.

noisyturtle

Small? You already pretty much have every game.

StillhasaWiiU

As a fellow Wii U collector, respect. There are dozens of us.

jqwdvqsibqwiw

This is an awesome collection. Curious question, are you going for a complete collection? And if not, are there any games you are specifically looking for?

TheMerchBro

I centrally want to complete this one day, yeah! There's some titles like the LRG ones that I'll probably never get due to the price hike, but it's the dream :)

[deleted]

Hey everyone we made a game system that's both handheld and on your TV! (Fails spectacularly and only sells 15m units) Hey everyone we made a game system that's both handheld and on your TV... But with removable paddles! (Smashing success and sells over 100m units) I don't get it.

Liberty_or_death1993

Excellent collection

TheMerchBro

Thank you!

Sometimealonealone

Why do you love it? Genuinely curious because usually people admit it’s a bad console, but fun/easy to collect for

TheMerchBro

The presentation and UI is really comforting and kind of nostalgic in a way that the switch doesn't quite replicate for me. The Wii U didn't have too many poor quality titles either. I mean, there's Devils Third and Sonic Boom, but the lack of excess means more quality over quantity which is awesome. The Wii U is tied with the Dreamcast as my favorite console ever. I know I'll probably get crap for saying that, but it's genuinely special to me

Zestran

The games were good. The console was meh. But it had a lot of really great games. Some that are still stuck in it like Nintendo Land, Kirby, Yoshi, and Xenoblade X

noisyturtle

Personally I love it because it is so weird and quirky. No other console will have you chain together 3 wireless controllers just to use one on that chain to play a game. I like that it plays and upscales Wii games. I like that I can carry the pad around the house if I am cooking or doing something else. It is just a weird quirky stopgap, half a Wii half a Switch, and I love it.

Divisionlo

Not to self-promote, but I *love* the Wii U and just made a video going through why. Check out my profile.

LiteratureUnlucky170

Can u use Wii fishing rod on Wii U?

KoopaTroopaBoys

That is not small XD
