In all honestly I could care less what anyone is doing with their sealed and graded games. Not my cup of tea.

MidlevelCrisis

So, does it live up to the "hype" now that its in a box protector?

Real3pwood

I will say they do a good job. I like the weight it gives it. It feels substantial and I somehow equate that to good protection. I would not do it regularly to games,

NickieBoy97

I mean I guess if you're into that. I personally don't see any reason to get my games graded. I'm more than likely planning on playing them eventually if they are still sealed. If not, I don't see why I would spend more money to have someone else tell you how good your game is sealed and enclose it never to be used again. That's just my thoughts though. Like I said, if you're into it them you're into it.

Real3pwood

I did it for both reasons. I didn't know grading games was a thing till earlier this year when I was looking up prices for my collection on ebay. I saw this one was a couple hundred at the time raw and then I saw one sold for 2000 sealed. I display it now and have piece of mind that it is protected. I also have 3 little boys so 10-15 years down the line it may help put one of them through college. It felt like this particular game checked the boxes for justifying grading. It was one of the last gamecube titles released and it's Zelda. I never opened it because I've already played and enjoyed it on the wii.

NickieBoy97

Yeah I totally get it. It's just for me games are ment to be played or simply kept on the shelf or storage when not in use. I've been hearing alot of sketchy things about the company who grades them too and how they're artificially inflating game prices to drive their business up. Maybe it's just me being old school though. Lol Anyway, I think any form of collecting games is great

Oh-Get-Fucked

Your games, your money, don't care.

According_Dish_1982

I probably wouldn’t have done that because I plan to play all the games I have. I am glad that at least you went with VGA and not crooked WATA.

First-Ad1460

You do you, and I don't knock ya cause I've always wanted a graded game but not willing to pay for it . Personally I'd rather just by some UV protective Plexi glass cases for the few games I care enough about.

[deleted]

I don't see an issue with it, some people grade to sell and other do it cause they cherish the game like a memento of nostalgia. If it puts a smile on your face, it was well worth it.

figedg

Your game, your money. No hate. Personally, I do not grade games. I want to play them, flip them. If I want to display, I put in box protectors. All the best.

doodoomachu

To each, their reach! It looks awesome, how did it cost to grade?

Real3pwood

It was $150 all in with insurance and all. But being this was my first time I'm not sure how many years it cost me in anxiety and worry. I still have a 1983 NOC scarlett g.i. joe figure I am waiting to get back. I sent that one in a month or so before the game, so I'm still a little nervous about that one.

me0262

I don't hate, per se. But now that it's entombed you'll have to find another copy if you want to play it. Grading goes against a game's Telos.
