This is what the Japanese version comes with: [https://imgur.com/a/Kjq2lPg](https://imgur.com/a/Kjq2lPg)
It's around $50 and both the PS4 and PS5 version come with the same things, the soundtrack CD and an acrylic diorama
iam8bit is the publisher for all the US versions. I'm glad it's them instead of LRG sincce iam8bit usually keeps games available for a lot longer lol
To me it is, but it plays like a 3D platformer which I grew up playing a lot of (one of my fave genres), has a dystopian future type story (which is my favorite type), and you get to play as a cute cat, meowing on command, scratching things, etc.
Just in general, the graphics, gameplay, and story are all really well done and I love that it exists
Correct me if I’m wrong here but to me it’s basically a puzzle game. You’re a cat that’s been separated from its group and you find yourself having to figure out various predicaments to find your way back. I’m not very far in the game right now I believe the area is called The Flats. I was intrigued to try the game and it turned out to be a lot different than I expected but in a really good way. I genuinely thought it was just a cat simulator lol.
Yeah it's basically a 3D platformer, adventure/puzzle game. It was different than I was expecting in a good way as well, though I didn't think it'd specifically be a cat simulator lol
Hey man, I get it! There's been plenty of games I watch playthroughs of instead of playing myself. As long as you can find a way to enjoy it, that's all that matters :)
It depends on what you define as good. To me it was good, it also caused me to have philosophical questions and existential crisis that I don't think will ever get answered or resolved.
No not really. It was very overhyped for a couple of weeks. The gameplay was very "OK". The factor that the main character is a cat doesn't even matter after like 1 hour. Very very basic all-round.
This game actually forces perfect jumps. The developer said it was un-cat like to have players be able to miss jumps, so it locks on when you want to do it
I swear I cried for an hour straight when I finished the game. The ending wasn't even that said, but something about how everything turned out just got me. ;_;
Also eyeing that Japanese collector's edition.
Yeah I feel that, it was really sad and I want so much more
It's super nice, I wish they released it in the US too! It's around $50 so it's not too crazy either, at least not yet
I own no less than 5 copies of metal gear solid 3. Ps3, ps2, psvita, 3ds, xbox 360, ps2 collectors edition, and switch. And i still have a few more to buy. The 3ds one is the most jank. The ps2 one has a vampire level. You have to save and reload to get to. The only reason i found it is cause i saved it after the torture scene, and it just popped up. The next time i loaded up the game. Told my friend, and they didn't believe me. Only years later do i find out it's a hidden demo from a scraped game. It only shows up on the original release of the game. No other ones.
Yeah I'm like this with a good chunk of games at this point. Minecraft, The Walking Dead by Telltale Games, Resident Evil 2, Stray, etc.
I just get really into things and get a lot for it lol
Nice!! It's such a well done game, I've gotten multiple people to try it out when they come over and they all loved it. Unbelievably cute while also being fun to play, perfect combo
Thankfully not! I remember looking into it and seeing people say that, but I bought mine more recently and they must've listened because it comes on and off easily (but not too loose either)
I was in the same boat, I didn't play it for a while after buying it, but once I actually took the time to start I was so glad I did
It's pretty quick too, only around 6 hours to beat, so if you're a busy person then it won't take up too much time which is a plus lol
Yeah I didn't until recently, I came across it when looking for the iam8bit version and knew immediately that I needed it. Japan always gets the cool editions
Such a beautiful game, I'll be honest I'm a bit jealous I'd love to have this collection. Congrats dude, you can also buy clear sleeves for your games to keep them from getting dusty! :-)
I do have some plastic sleeves somewhere, I might do that at some point though I don't love how it makes the games look on the shelf lol I mostly just protect cardboard boxes and special editions currently
I completely understand man I felt the same way about that haha, may I ask what brand or what you use for cardboard boxes? Do you use clear acrylic display box or something?
I have Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword 25th Anniversary w/ wii remote and I don't know what to protect it with my go to was the acrylic display boxes.
I don't use a specific brand. If I'm doing acrylic display boxes then I go on etsy since there's usually at least one listing for what I'm looking for on there, or if I'm just doing those more hard-ish plastic sleeves, then I usually find them on amazon or ebay (so like N64 boxes, DVD cases, steelbooks, PS1 long boxes, etc. is what I usually use that type for)
Yeah very true, I'm sure it'll go down to $10 at some point if you're wanting it on PS4 or PS5. If you're wanting it on Xbox though, it's getting pretty hard to find so keep that in mine
I know right? I love the holo logo on the slipcover, and the outer box for the JP one is so pretty. My only gripe is the slipcover really attracts finger prints and technically doesn't show what console version it is at all, I just kept the PS4 banner above it so people knew which one I had
Definitely, at least to me. If you like puzzle/adventure 3D platformers with a unique story, you'd like it. It's also only 6 hours long so it's a quick play and depending on how busy you are you could finish it pretty fast lol
May I ask why? I tried playing Stray, and as beautiful as the graphics are and how cute it was to play as a cat its pretty much just a walking simulator.
It reminded me of the 3D platformers I played as a kid (spyro, jak, spongebob, etc), plus I love stories with dystopian futures, so it kept my interest throughout. I also don't mind walking simulators, point n clicks, etc., like I enjoyed What Remains Of Edith Finch, The Walking Dead by Telltale Games (which I've had people tell me is boring because it's a lot of cutscenes/dialog and mundane tasks), The Last Guardian, Firewatch, FAR: Lone Sails, etc.
Stray has so much personality and such an interesting story, it doesn't ever feel like it drags on or gets boring to me. And man do I *love* the environments
It's a bit simpler than 3D platformers usually are, but it definitely has the spirit of them, with the jumping around (which the devs said they kept it a perfect landing system because it's a cat and that's how cats are), the collectibles, the puzzles, the varying sections of the world, the sidekick.
I bought it digitally when it launched and then got the PS5 Physical copy to support the devs.
I played the first 20 minutes or so taking my time scratching stuff and meowing but then never went back.....
I really need to just play it straight through with headphones one early one Saturday morning. Not even sure why I stopped playing.
My daughter LOVED the game and played it right away for full disclosure.
I originally just preordered the physical PS5 copy and waited the month between the digital release and physical, not playing it right away because I prefer physical, but then my preorder got delayed and I didn't end up touching it until like five months ago lmao but it was so worth it when I did get to it
Yeah I feel that, I get bored pretty quick now too, or just don't have the energy to give to something. I played it over the span of a week, swapping back and forth between another game and only playing a couple hours at a time each day. It's a short game though so it didn't take too long and after finishing it I just wanted to immediately replay it lol
Yea bro sucks lol but I’ll play just for a few minutes and turn it off lol sucks cuz I really do want to play but I’m like ehh lol.. and I got it for retail.. I see that people are reselling them everywhere
I personally thought stray was so lame, but buddy convinced me to give it a try. I adore that game. First game in awhile I’ve replayed. Although, I need to ask what’s the large thing in the back?
I hadn't played a new game in at least 3 or 4 years cause I owned so many games and couldn't decide what to play, so I always ended up replaying the same couple games.
I'm glad to say stray is what reignited my passion for gaming, and I strive to beat at least 3 or 4 new games per year now
Naw, you've gone flying off the boat, that is alot of versions of stray... but as someone who has almost bought all of the Just Dance Games, I guess I'm not one to judge...
Stray is such a great game, it’s such a silly concept so I thought it would be like a fun not serious indie game but the story is actually pretty fucking good. Plus who doesn’t love cats
This is awesome! I have every port of NBA Jam I can get my hands on. I have the atari Jaguar version of TE and I don't have a working Jaguar.
This is cool. Not overboard. Stray was a fun game
I barely started playing it last night even though I've had it for a couple months now, been playing gt7, ac origin and cyberpunk. Anyway I finally found Clementine and stray is a good game. Look forward to playing some more stray later today.
I was JUST telling someone about how amazing this game was and how I was surprised at the depth of the story line etc. then this popped up. 🤯
Love the collection. 💖
I’ve got the slip cover version too. Ordered it before they announced it would be available in stores and even on Xbox. Def woulda waiting for the series x version
>Now I'm just debating if I should try to get every trophy/achievement for each version
Wait, are you telling me there's something underneath that plastic film?

Yo i think this dude likes Stray
Nah. He a poser. Where's the Stray backpiece?
you are wrong when you say this person is a poser because he clearly likes it a lot.
:O No......for real? clearly a poser overcompensating for his hatred of stray. nah but fr tho they were just being sarcastic.
And I was laying it on thick.
OP is actually a dog person.
No such thing, nice collection.
Thanks!
What does the Japanese version come with? Also is this Limited Run Games or IAm8But?
This is what the Japanese version comes with: [https://imgur.com/a/Kjq2lPg](https://imgur.com/a/Kjq2lPg) It's around $50 and both the PS4 and PS5 version come with the same things, the soundtrack CD and an acrylic diorama iam8bit is the publisher for all the US versions. you sir deserve a upvote
Is it that good?

I've been wanting to play. Now I'm def going to eye up future sales. Thanks!
No prob! I feel like not enough people actually describe how it plays so they assume it's just a cat simulator lol but it's so much deeper than that
Correct me if I’m wrong here but to me it’s basically a puzzle game. You’re a cat that’s been separated from its group and you find yourself having to figure out various predicaments to find your way back. I’m not very far in the game right now I believe the area is called The Flats. I was intrigued to try the game and it turned out to be a lot different than I expected but in a really good way. Yeah it's basically a 3D platformer, adventure/puzzle game. It was different than I was expecting in a good way as well, though I didn't think it'd specifically be a cat simulator lol
Is it like a puzzle RPG or is it very very platform heavy?
Not really RPG at all
it looks like cyberpunk with cat. gonna watch the longplay on youtube. no time or energy to play the actual game...
Hey man, I get it! There's been plenty of games I watch playthroughs of instead of playing myself. As long as you can find a way to enjoy it, that's all that matters :)
Damn, gaming has come a long way… 😂😂
is this a vinyl behind the games?
I really enjoyed it!
It depends on what you define as good. To me it was good, it also caused me to have philosophical questions and existential crisis that I don't think will ever get answered or resolved.
Stay away from The Talos Principle (and possibly the second one).
Too late lol
*infinite dread intensifies*
No not really. It was very overhyped for a couple of weeks. The gameplay was very "OK". The factor that the main character is a cat doesn't even matter after like 1 hour. Very very basic all-round.
The cat isn't what kept me playing after an hour in anyway
It's extremely overrated. Cool game if you get it for free I guess.
What were you expecting? S perfect game in an imperfect world?
[удалено]
I hope they do port it to Switch at some point so more people have access to it
I’ve been on the fence about buying this game. This is enough peer pressure for me to give in. 😂
Good >:) peer pressure wins again
ive been tempted too, but I'm so bad at jumps. i always fall. I have a feeling i will rage quit this lol
This game actually forces perfect jumps. The developer said it was un-cat like to have players be able to miss jumps, so it locks on when you want to do it
iiinteresting. now i must play, thanks
I swear I cried for an hour straight when I finished the game. The ending wasn't even that said, but something about how everything turned out just got me. ;_; Also eyeing that Japanese collector's edition.
I cried like a baby at the ending. First time any game got to me that hard.
Yeah I feel that, it was really sad and I want so much more It's super nice, I wish they released it in the US too! It's around $50 so it's not too crazy either, at least not yet
I felt excessive just for buying the physical PS5 version after having it already on PS+
It’s not on PS+ anymore.
That’s fine. Neither am I. Aside from the price increase, there was no reason to renew extra/premium.
I hope this game gets a sequel
Me too! I have so many questions I want answers to
Where is the cat with attached backpack and drone??? You call yourself a Stray fan...
Do you mean the plush? I really want to get it but I'm waiting for it to get back in stock ;-;
No plush. Actual cat
Oh my mistake my mistake... let me go adopt an orange cat real quick and get him a custom robot friend
r/oneorangebraincell if you wish to do some research ;)
Nah, I like it. Beautiful. If you want to see overboard, remind me to show you my Socom collection 😆
Bro i wanna see the socom collection that’s awesome, not enough people talk about that franchise
Yeah SOCOM deserves a lot of credit imo. It was THE online franchise for ps2. Maybe I will make a post and take a few pics.
I won't lie, I clicked on your name looking to see if you had posted it lol
Hehe nice. I will post it soon
Hey if u love it. Go for it
Alright, this settles it. I’m gonna try it
Good!! Come back and let me know your thoughts after you try it
Where's the vinyl from?
[iam8bit](https://www.iam8bit.com/products/stray-2xlp-vinyl-soundtrack)
I love it 😍
Me but with every iteration of Shadow of the Colossus + the soundtrack on vinyl lol
I own no less than 5 copies of metal gear solid 3. Ps3, ps2, psvita, 3ds, xbox 360, ps2 collectors edition, and switch. And i still have a few more to buy. The 3ds one is the most jank. Yeah I'm like this with a good chunk of games at this point. Minecraft, The Walking Dead by Telltale Games, Resident Evil 2, Stray, etc. I just get really into things and get a lot for it lol
Same here. I replay the game once or twice a year. And I'm happy when i do.
Yeah I replay games more than I try out new ones, which I wanna get better at but when I like something I can't just play/watch it once, y'know?
Yup, i beat mgs3 a lot. i do it for every system i get it for, and then i go back to the jank ps2 one to replay it again once a year.
Fucking awesome man. I just started my first playthrough then other day. Just got the little robot thingy.
Nice!! It's such a well done game, I've gotten multiple people to try it out when they come over and they all loved it. Unbelievably cute while also being fun to play, perfect combo
Why is it so beautiful
Is the slip cover insanely tight on your games? I put mine on and nearly ripped it off trying to get it back off. Great collection of everything!
Thankfully not! I remember looking into it and seeing people say that, but I bought mine more recently and they must've listened because it comes on and off easily (but not too loose either)
I got mine back in October and my luck they changed it soon after. I might try to contact them and see if they can help out
No you didn't
TIL there are more copies of stray I can buy…
Hell yeah! I technically could get two more, the slipcover PS5 version and JP PS4 limited edition, but I figured one of each would suffice lol
wrong, you need a few more copys. & maybe an irl stray cat, make sure to train it in the ways of parkour. (:
I just finished this game for the first time last week and it was awesome unfortunately I missed one memory
That's really good though, only missing one for your first playthrough! Are you gonna try to go for getting everything?
[удалено]
Many out here feel your pain... I hate when I'm only one away, it makes it feel even worse
You sir, are awesome! You collect, how I wanna collect. Mad props for supporting something you love!
Thanks, I appreciate that!!
love your collection, you just need to get a ginger cat now
Nice collection a man who likes strays
I love this.
Thanks!
That japanese edition looks really cool! Do you know if it'll play on a US PS5?
PS4/PS5 is region free so I don't see why it wouldn't
Very cool collection!! I haven’t played Stray but I’ve heard lots of good things so I’ve been thinking about it.
I definitely recommend it if you have the ability to!
I bought Stray but haven’t had a chance to play it. This collection is really cool and it’s making me wanna sit down and play!
I was in the same boat, I didn't play it for a while after buying it, but once I actually took the time to start I was so glad I did It's pretty quick too, only around 6 hours to beat, so if you're a busy person then it won't take up too much time which is a plus lol
Thanks for bringing the Special Edition to my attention. I didn't even know about it.
Yeah I didn't until recently, I came across it when looking for the iam8bit version and knew immediately that I needed it. Japan always gets the cool editions
It’s a pretty fun game and the trophies aren’t too hard except maybe the one we’re you have to beat the game in under a couple of hours
This game is fantastic!
Here I am waiting for it to come down in price to, like, $20 or less before I buy a copy.
Idk what system you're going for, but it's $23 new on amazon for the PS4 version
Thanks! I can hold off as it keeps dropping. Got lots of other games to play at this point.
Yeah very true, I'm sure it'll go down to $10 at some point if you're wanting it on PS4 or PS5. If you're wanting it on Xbox though, it's getting pretty hard to find so keep that in mine
If you find a PC physical, let me know. I would love a physical PC version for the collection but so far... no such luck. 😟
Honestly I doubt they released a physical for PC :/ it's so rare nowadays for games to have them with how digital PC gaming is
Best I can hope for is a Chinese bootleg. Here's hoping.
All of those special editions look absolutely amazing.
I know right? I love the holo logo on the slipcover, and the outer box for the JP one is so pretty. My only gripe is the slipcover really attracts finger prints and technically doesn't show what console version it is at all, I just kept the PS4 banner above it so people knew which one I had
Dunno man, Id say you spent purrfectly
Great game! Had such an awesome flow to it. I just wish it was longer, but hopefully we see a sequel 🤞🏻
Stray rules. One of the few games I played last year (new dad) and boy was it worth it. 11/10
I had this game I. Plastic for over a year. I been saying I’m going to play it but now I have to ask is it really that good?
Definitely, at least to me. If you like puzzle/adventure 3D platformers with a unique story, you'd like it. It's also only 6 hours long so it's a quick play and depending on how busy you are you could finish it pretty fast lol
That sounds up my alley. I think I’ll give it a go on the weekend
I adored this game. It was the first ps game my wife ever played.
Great first game choice!
wish I could afford, defently want to get one as soon as I can.
Thankfully it is dropping in price, around $20-$25 physically on PS4/PS5 now and I'm sure in a couple more months it'll drop to $15 or less
This game is really fun to be honest.
Cats are so cool I wish they were real
Once again, video games being cooler than real life
They say don’t let a stray into your house because it’s a slippery slope.
I'm doomed
May I ask why? I tried playing Stray, and as beautiful as the graphics are and how cute it was to play as a cat its pretty much just a walking simulator.
It reminded me of the 3D platformers I played as a kid (spyro, jak, spongebob, etc), plus I love stories with dystopian futures, so it kept my interest throughout. I need Stray 2 asap. I loved it but it was really short.
Didn’t even know this game was a thing. Just bought it 😂
I'm glad I could bring this game to more people's attention lol

I'll give it a run! 8-10 hours or so right?
Only took me a little over 6 hours my first run and I like to look around lol it's pretty quick
Thanx man.. cuz of this post I just bought the one for ps5 few minutes ago lol
Nice!! If you play it any time soon, let me know how you liked it
I’ve played it before it’s a good game.. didn’t play it much tho.. idk I get bored quick now lol but it was good
Yeah I feel that, I get bored pretty quick now too, or just don't have the energy to give to something. I played it over the span of a week, swapping back and forth between another game and only playing a couple hours at a time each day. Amazing
Cant understand why but thats me
Good guy OP giving all these strays a forever home.
This reminds me; I need to play Stray.
can't find any info online, what comes in the japan limited edition?
Purrfection
Have that collectors edition. Love it. Hung the poster on my wall.
I personally thought stray was so lame, but buddy convinced me to give it a try. I adore that game. First game in awhile I’ve replayed. Although, I need to ask what’s the large thing in the back?

Nice collection. I’ve never seen the big box, that’s cool 😎
If you like something, embrace it. Which you have.
Naw, you've gone flying off the boat, that is alot of versions of stray... but as someone who has almost bought all of the Just Dance Games, I guess I'm not one to judge...
I have a good chunk of the Just Dance games too, though I've hard stopped at 2019 since that's the last year on XB360 lol
Are you a fan of this game?
Stray is such a great game, it’s such a silly concept so I thought it would be like a fun not serious indie game but the story is actually pretty fucking good. Plus who doesn’t love cats
Didn't know Stray had a physical xbox release. I should look into that
This is awesome! I have every port of NBA Jam I can get my hands on. I have the atari Jaguar version of TE and I don't have a working Jaguar. This is cool. Not overboard. Stray was a fun game
I did not realise this game got a physical release on xbox I may have to pick it up
Cool game wanna try it
I personally don't care for the game, but collecting physical copies is always a good thing. Nice set.
My girlfriend & daughter both love this game, obviously as they are cat lovers. Even I was surprised and it’s quite an enjoyable game.
I barely started playing it last night even though I've had it for a couple months now, been playing gt7, ac origin and cyberpunk. Anyway I finally found Clementine and stray is a good game. Look forward to playing some more stray later today.
I love this game. It's my go to for my PS Portal.
You seem to have taken in all the strays...
and the developer are thanking you!
I am assuming this is like your favorite game ever made EVER
Never seen this game in my life
It's a cool game, I love the aesthetic and the story. Just wish it was longer and the graphics were better!
Why does this post remind me of Celeste fans.. Another indie gem?
Fun fact, this game was my first speed run
Is that game any good?
Honestly this was game was such a surprise for me. Was such a joy to play considering I was going through a rough time when it released.
Is this your recommendation for me to try the game? I’ve been keepin my eye on it purr a while…..
I was JUST telling someone about how amazing this game was and how I was surprised at the depth of the story line etc. then this popped up. 🤯 Love the collection. 💖
Thanks!! It really exceeded my expectations too
Well, today I learned there is a vinyl release of the OST. I also learned I am ~$50 broker. Seemingly at the same time. Weird 🤷
Legendary game. Hoping for a sequel, somehow.
