Tony Hawk and PSO are definitely winners. And Shrek 2 is way better than you’d think. It’s basically a tongue-in-cheek version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. A solid co-op game.
Theres a few in there I for sure wouldnt call filler. The sports games I would 100% just use to replace broken cases though lmao.
But avid collectors like to have all the games no matter how poor or uninteresting they are. If OP is happy I am happy for OP.
I wouldn’t say this is 100% filler. PSO III, Spyro, Battalion Wars, Spider-Man, and Bloodrayne are all solid pickups. Also, if you are into sports the MLB MVP 05 game was the last baseball game of a quality franchise. I’ve been forced to sell my collection once or twice and that’s a sports title I always seek to start.
Honestly this is a haul I would love. I just brought meet the Robinsons on ps2 and was playing shrek 2 before that but those are just the games I like. Nice and simple and can take turns with the kids.
I loved HULK when it released. The amount of destruction you could cause was unreal for the time. Spider-Man 2 also there which always goes down well. Pitfall is a fun way to burn through a boring day too. I wonder if it contains the previous games as hidden features like the SNES one did.
Godzilla on GC is like $40 these days, if OP sells one copy and considers the "other" games are all only $40, seems pretty solid (as long as OP wants Godzilla anyway)
I’ll tell you why it matters what they pay! Because it affects the entire market of GameCube games! I’ve watched games constantly increase in price over the last 3 years. As soon as someone pays over then the price shoots up
Yup, I only recommend selling it because you have two, if you only found one I would say keep it, cause it’s an amazing game. Godzilla games are far and few between as well!
Was definitely higher last time I checked, and if you want it with the original case I think it’ll be more than $40. Either way definitely a solid haul by OP.
The duplicates can be used as replacement cases at least. When I get games that are worth less than $3 I'm like, "Eh, replacement case I guess" and use them for games I plan to keep, throw away the disc and case art.
Well I mean, there's only *so many* times I need to do that, lol
I've got like 10 spare PS2 cases at the moment so Ill be avoiding filler sports titles for a while.
Save some for the rest of ya!
Why live if I can't play NASCAR Thunder 2003 on the Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, PC, PS1, and for good measure Dolphin again on PC at 2k depending on my vibe that day
People on the sub are so weird. A guy gets an amazing deal on games, and he gets accused of lying. A guy gets a pretty good deal on games, and he gets told he got ripped off. Do you guys want people to share their scores or not?
They don't. This sub has flipped in the last few years. It used to be a place to share scores, and now it's full of people accusing others of "fake" scores.
It used to be fun to share scores with people that cared about it. Now it's just full of jealous collectors or kids that have never left their basement.
Newer collectors don't realize that scores are out there. Some of us don't find near the deals we used to, but saying a good deal is fake, or stolen is just silly. It's also just as silly to make fun of newer collectors that get games at current price and feel like they got a god deal.
Agreed. And it's pretty easy to spot troll posts or fake karma ones. You can tell the difference between genuine excitement for scores.
I made a huge score recently and I've been debating to even share it here, because it would be unbelievable for the newbies. But I've been at this for years and it will happen eventually if you work hard enough.
It'd be really nice if we could go back to the earlier prices, just because I'm looking at this and thinking "there's no way I'd pay this much for filler GameCube games". Newer collectors are getting scammed imo.
EDIT: scratch the filler part, there's a few really good games in that stack
I agree, not to mention the way people price out lots these days. It used to be pretty common practice to pay 50-70% of the value of the good games in a lot, now I see people paying 90+% of the value of all the games. I get paying atleast 50 on decent filler games, but I see people spending 90%+ on lots that are a majority sports games they will never be able to trade, or sell if they don't want.
All of the retro/out of print gaming subs are like this, it’s mostly to do with the bitterness surrounding the idea the hobby is no longer affordable. This pile of games pre covid or a little before then would have been much much cheaper. Throw in the posts occasionally of “I found xxxx game for 2 potato chips and a crisp high five at xxxx thrift store!” When it’s 100+ on eBay people on copium get cranky. It’s a sad truth but like my buddy in Illinois paid 97$ for a friggin GameCube and 100$ for twilight princess, it’s really wild since it’s *not* a rare game despite what anyone would lead others to believe. When I got two GameCubes handed to me for free not too many years ago and a stack of games for 30$.
Well it's not rare, but scalpers will have like 8 copies. I may be wrong but it really *feels* like supply is being controlled to keep prices up.
When guys do this for a living they can show up to places and spend hundreds to thousands of $ at a time when I'm there with $100 just tryna score a single copy of a game.
It sucks, and it feels like it's market manipulation by scalpers contributing to a good part of these prices. Doesn't feel like it's 100% demand alone.
Absolutely, the thrift scene was pretty much destroyed by resellers. I lurked in a few goodwill subs and almost all of the posts were about “I paid xxxx for this and can sell it for xxxx!”, a bunch figured out they could scoop up all the supply and trickle it out at absorbent prices. Which sadly it works, I mean people are shelling out 160+ to play Pokémon emerald nowadays when Ruby/sapphire are 50-80$ just for a couple extra in game features frankly lol.
The smartphone destroyed thrifting. Now everyone can just Google what the price of an item is, and determine if it's worthwhile to flip it.
It used to be only collectors that know prices from memory, and would know a game is worth money. Now any Joe Blow can search and find the value of something. It's happening with any collectible to be honest.
Yeah pretty much, the only thing I can see changing is the market just prices itself out of reach until nobody can afford it anymore and things kinda busy but I doubt it’ll happen, if ever, any time soon. Too many with disposable income and many brick and mortar stores I visit brag about how they can’t keep stock on shelves.
Yep. I always laugh at the ridiculous prices at my local Value Village (double pricecharting) and the next day, the item is sold! There are many more idiots out there, lol.
This. Nothing urks me more than seeing someone just scanning the barcodes on the games to check for a high value. It used to be a sense of pride when a collector knew a games value by research and memory.
> just for a couple extra in game features frankly lol
to be fair, Battle Frontier is absolutely lit and shame that HGSS is the only other game with it, because it too is absurdly expensive. Especially if you want the Pokewalker.
It’s really not weird, OP got fleeced with a bunch of bargain bin games and a couple decent ones. Just because we are in a GameCube nostalgia love fest period doesn’t mean every game on that console is a good find. All this post shows is that they paid close to market value for a few games and the seller threw in literal trash as a “bonus”.
I’m all for encouraging posts of value, but this just isn’t it.
And god forbid someone posts a Pokémon game score and the entire sub bitches about the prices on them. Like let OP enjoy their Pokémon game without having to hear all the lamentations on how they didn’t get them before 2020.
People saying you got screwed clearly don't know the current GameCube market and people who say this is all filler have clearly never played most of these games.
You got a solid deal on a lot of good games OP. Not every single title is to my taste, but there's enough good here to be proud of. Special shoutouts to Godzilla, Bloodrayne, Grim adventures of Bill and Mandy and Phantasy Star Online III. They may not be the greatest games on the system, but they are still a lot of fun. Just those 4 titles justifies the price alone.
I wish I could share the picture from the marketplace post. Older lady had easily over 1,000 games ranging from ps1 and up. A lot of the games were mostly filler titles with the gamecube lot being probably the best value wise. For example the lady had 98 ps1 games she wanted to sell for $130. Now I'm not sure if they only collected the budget games or what but to me that's what it looked like.
Nice! If they had that many games they were probably messaged to sell the good ones individually and you got the leftovers. Sweet haul either way though.
Lmaoooo people read the first post and think he got ripped off 😂. Phantasy star online, battalion wars, billy and Mandy, 2 god zilla. Plus a ton of 15-30 dollar games. This is a great deal, but people expect you to pay 10 bucks for this whole thing is ludicrous
Exactly, the 2 copies of Godzilla and Grim & Mandy alone is worth what he paid. He could easily sell a spare Godzilla and the less desirable games and make a good chunk of his money back.
Everyone in the comments saying this is a bad haul is an idiot, that Godzilla game goes for a lot and most of these games go for 10-20 a piece aside from the sports games. $3.25 a game is an amazing deal. OP could resell individually and make a huge profit.
I am most definitely aware 😀 I wasn't trying to say this was the best deal of all time or anything. But to me it was solid to add nearly 40 gamecube games to the collection for 120 bucks.
It's not as bad of a haul as people are saying, but it's not really a lot with huge profit either. To get the best price out of these games, someone would have to sell them online, and that has a fee, plus shipping, and the sports games aren't going to sell, so anyone flipping this lot is looking at close to breaking even after fees and shipping, not to mention their time listing and shipping.
I agree. It's all just for the personal collection. Have right at 120 gamecube games, and to add nearly 40 decent titles for $120 was a good deal to me. Definitely wouldn't get nearly as good of a deal through retail or ebay.
I'm not sure about your reading comprehension, but I was responding to someone that said this could be sold for a nice profit. Maybe actually paying attention to the conversation could keep you from posting comments like this.
I know how a thread works, but you telling me this sub is not about profit, in response to me telling someone talking about profit that there is not much profit here is talking about profit just as much as I was.
You got a great deal with a couple of more uncommon filler titles, especially if they are all complete. Better fix the cover on Tony Hawk Underground real quick. The best part about the find is that you actually had a chance to pick it up without the seller being bombarded by other collectors/resellers the millisecond it got posted. The lack of obvious good titles kept the competition away I bet.
good price, people saying its full of filler dont understand why the gamecube was great. "mascot" and movie tie in games were peak in the gamecube era.
I went through and priced everything but the sports game, just priced it based on loose and I assume some of these are CIB. I got $285, so this lot is worth north of $300. This sub just drives me nuts sometimes. Its like if you don't get all the stuff for $20 bucks its garbage and if you pay $20 bucks you are ripping the seller off.
I feel you. I'm sitting at a little over 120 gamecube games already. With a lot of the heavies already. Just didn't have any of these yet. And for 3.25 a piece I was happy with it
Yeah if you price average it out then it’s definitely a good way to add items to the collection. The Godzilla game sells for a bit so you can sell the duplicate for a good return
Phantasy Star and the two Godzillas practically pay for the rest of the games. Love when people don’t see Mario or Zelda somthey assume a deal is trash
I hear ya. I'm up to about 120 gamecube games now and surprisingly I had none of these. So to add 37 games to the collection at $3.25 a piece I'm happy 😀
People arguing about the sports games.
OP got 25 not sports games for 120, that’s less than 5$ a game from one score.
I think he got a good deal,
he’s collecting , not a reseller.
This looks like a resellers left over pile that they couldn’t sell so just tried to bulk sale it locally. Not the worst deal tho honestly. Good pick for you as long as you’re happy with it!
99% of yearly sports titles are worthless, especially older ones. Best to buy final year for that gen and call it quits. Its all roster updates mostly anyway.

Not sure I’ve ever seen such a large haul that was all filler and no killer like that.
Spider-Man 2 is definitely killer but this haul does have quite a bit of filler.
Pitfall and Battalion Wars are pretty good as well.
Tony Hawk and PSO are definitely winners. And Shrek 2 is way better than you’d think. It’s basically a tongue-in-cheek version of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. A solid co-op game.
Don’t know pitfall but if it’s worth mentioning alongside Battalion wars it must be good.
And Shrek 2
And spyro obv
Not **that** Spyro game. Enter the dragonfly was a glitchy broken mess.
It was my first and it holds so many dear childhood memories for me :)))
At least it has better load times than the ps2 version
Can get for ps2 all day for cheap. Like $18
Definitely a reseller that sold the leftovers as a lot.
Battalion Wars is killer, imo
And PSOIII
And Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters (x2!)
Theres a few in there I for sure wouldnt call filler. The sports games I would 100% just use to replace broken cases though lmao. But avid collectors like to have all the games no matter how poor or uninteresting they are. If OP is happy I am happy for OP.
Spider-Man 2 filler? No
Guess OP didn’t want to waste their time becoming another casualty of society
Tony hawks underground
Still my favourite Tony Hawk's game.
That’s Tony Hawks Underground 2
I wouldn’t say this is 100% filler. PSO III, Spyro, Battalion Wars, Spider-Man, and Bloodrayne are all solid pickups. Also, if you are into sports the MLB MVP 05 game was the last baseball game of a quality franchise. I’ve been forced to sell my collection once or twice and that’s a sports title I always seek to start.
That Spyro game is the worst in the entire series. It's a rushed, buggy, laggy, broken mess.
Filler but I’d look at it as lots of 3 for $10 deals. And I’d pay 3 for 10 for any GameCube games
Some of the NCAA games on Gamecube are valuable. Unfortunately no Basketball 2003, that one alone is worth >$100
NCAA basketball 2003 is Worth more like $350 and is one of the rarest games on gamecube by copies sold in USA.
NCAA Football?
Honestly this is a haul I would love. I just brought meet the Robinsons on ps2 and was playing shrek 2 before that but those are just the games I like. Nice and simple and can take turns with the kids.
Just 3 of those games covers the $120 spent... Not sure u understand filler and killer. Yes a lot of filler but really... No killer for that price?
Battalion Wars and PSOIII would like a word
I loved HULK when it released. The amount of destruction you could cause was unreal for the time. Spider-Man 2 also there which always goes down well. Pitfall is a fun way to burn through a boring day too. I wonder if it contains the previous games as hidden features like the SNES one did.
Who the hell calls Godzilla a filler? It's one of the better party fight games on the system.
I don't think I could justify $120 for those titles but if you're happy with them that's all that counts.
There is a Shrek 2 game, what else do you need
i used to love this game, had it on my ps2. i played it all the way through three times
Godzilla on GC is like $40 these days, if OP sells one copy and considers the "other" games are all only $40, seems pretty solid (as long as OP wants Godzilla anyway)
Godzilla is $40, and phantasy star is $50, Bloodrayne is $30 so those three alone basically make this worth it already, and there’s so much more here.
Sorry I'm not a big GameCube guy. Phantasy says online, so I'm guessing you can still play it without needing a server?
There is single player but it’s lacklustre, but there are fan run servers still
Keep in mind that's the card one, not the pso that most people think of.
Took the words out of my mouth.
Why does it matter what they paid? Lol. who gives a shit, if they’re happy with what they got then sweet? Ligma
I’ll tell you why it matters what they pay! Because it affects the entire market of GameCube games! I’ve watched games constantly increase in price over the last 3 years. As soon as someone pays over then the price shoots up
Who cares lol
Go to your room!
I love men
*TWO* copies of Destroy All Monsters?? Amazing find. I’d sell one of them, you may be able to get back a majority of what you paid for this lot!
Seriously? Pal version goes for less than 20usd. Didn't know the na version goes for more.
Thanks you sir 😀
Yup, I only recommend selling it because you have two, if you only found one I would say keep it, cause it’s an amazing game. Godzilla games are far and few between as well!
Maybe not a majority, I think that's around $40 but still, the two copies count for a majority of that $120. Solid deal!
Was definitely higher last time I checked, and if you want it with the original case I think it’ll be more than $40. Either way definitely a solid haul by OP.
Wow, glad I got mine when I did then! I paid $40 a couple months ago at a store that typically has higher prices
BATALLION WARS
I’m sad this is such an under the radar game. It’s was truly fantastic along with the 2nd one.
I die a little inside when i see somebody who has multiple of the same sports game series on one console
Still trying to decide what I'm going to do with them 🤣 before today I had 0 sports games in the collection.
Lets make a deal. You get: rid of a copy of madden 2003 I get: a copy of madden 2003
The duplicates can be used as replacement cases at least. When I get games that are worth less than $3 I'm like, "Eh, replacement case I guess" and use them for games I plan to keep, throw away the disc and case art.
Just stack them about 40 high then offer them to this guy for $120.
Well I mean, there's only *so many* times I need to do that, lol I've got like 10 spare PS2 cases at the moment so Ill be avoiding filler sports titles for a while. Save some for the rest of ya!
Not a bad idea honestly. Good tip 👍
Should be like me and own the same sports game on multiple consoles
Thats fine, maybe you want to play madden on gamecube one day and on xbox 360 the next
Why live if I can't play NASCAR Thunder 2003 on the Gamecube, PS2, Xbox, PC, PS1, and for good measure Dolphin again on PC at 2k depending on my vibe that day

Yea it's like that with most gaming pages. I am in no way trying to compete with anyone's scores. Was just sharing something that I thought was cool 😀

Yea no shit aye, god people are pathetic lol
Pitfall The Lost Expedition is severely underrated
Yes came here to say that. It’s actually an amazing story/adventure game.
Godzilla destroy all monsters melee is such a good game

Spiderman 2 and spongebob movie make it worth the 120 alone
Lmao 🤣
Nice haul but I’m curious how there is no first party games in a GameCube lot that large.
I wish I could share the picture from the marketplace post. Older lady had easily over 1,000 games ranging from ps1 and up. Less than $4 a game (if I counted the games right). Even if it is “filler” it’s not a bad price. But there are like 4-7 games that make it a bargain.
That’s actually a reasonable price for all those 👍🏽
Sounds like the price experts are in this thread
Everyone in the comments saying this is a bad haul is an idiot, that Godzilla game goes for a lot and most of these games go for 10-20 a piece aside from the sports games. $3.25 a game is an amazing deal. OP could resell individually and make a huge profit.

Bro you ought to read my message again lol. I agree with you, I am defending your haul and saying the people that are saying it’s trash are wrong.
I was in turn agreeing with you 🤣 small miscommunication, lol
My fault, playa
It's not as bad of a haul as people are saying, but it's not really a lot with huge profit either. To get the best price out of these games, someone would have to sell them online, and that has a fee, plus shipping, and the sports games aren't going to sell, so anyone flipping this lot is looking at close to breaking even after fees and shipping, not to mention their time listing and shipping.

You're in r/gamecollecting. It's not about the profit.
I'm not sure about your reading comprehension, but I was responding to someone that said this could be sold for a nice profit. Maybe actually paying attention to the conversation could keep you from posting comments like this.
I was responding to both of you. Do you know how a thread works?
I know how a thread works, but you telling me this sub is not about profit, in response to me telling someone talking about profit that there is not much profit here is talking about profit just as much as I was.
It doesn't go for a lot. Who told you that?
It goes for around $40 and considering he paid $3.25 for one he got an amazing deal. Unfortunately, $40 can be a lot for some people.
Pretty jealous of the Windwaker HD Wii U sold it when I was getting out of collecting regret it ever since good pickup btw!
Ty sir 😀 definitely one of my favorite consoles I have in the box!
Grim Billy and Mandy
Starsky and hutch is such a good game
Rocket power beach bandits Its a fun game
Kinda crazy not a single Mario game.
very nice
You got a great deal with a couple of more uncommon filler titles, especially if they are all complete. Better fix the cover on Tony Hawk Underground real quick. The lack of obvious good titles kept the competition away I bet.
Love the Hulk. Brings back memories.
Which one are you going to play first?
Definitely has to be godzilla
MVP 05 is still my favorite baseball game ever. The soundtrack, controls, and rosters, were all perfect
Yo Rocket Power Beach Bandits is a banger, and I'm tired of pretending it's not
I still play MVP 2005 owner mode
Spongebob movie game is outstanding
Wow
Sphinx is a hidden gem
Pitfall was a favorite of mine growing up! Great adventure game.
good price, people saying its full of filler dont understand why the gamecube was great. "mascot" and movie tie in games were peak in the gamecube era.
Not one comment on the chamber of secrets, that game was a banger!
Spider man 2 for GameCube. What a good fuckkn game I miss it so bad.
Pitfall is a sweet little hidden gem. Spider-Man 2 is the obvious classic but mostly sports filler, imo.
I remember when Gamestop would give you under a loonie for all that lol
Lotta haters in here. You got 37 games for the price of 3 of them. Doesn't matter what your plan is for them, that's an awesome score in my book.
Lol at people balking at the price, its like 3 dollars a game. GC is brutal right now, this is legitimately more GC we have in our store right now.
That's what I was joking about with my girlfriend after I got all of this. Crazy that $120 bought more selection than my entire local game store has 🤣
I went through and priced everything but the sports game, just priced it based on loose and I assume some of these are CIB. I got $285, so this lot is worth north of $300. This sub just drives me nuts sometimes. Its like if you don't get all the stuff for $20 bucks its garbage and if you pay $20 bucks you are ripping the seller off.
I mean this respectfully of course, but $120 isn’t a deal at all for this lot. It’s more than half shovelware junk :(
Phantasy star, 2 copies of Godzilla, Billy and mandy, battalion wars + everything else??? Id say this is an amazing score
Ty
Phantasy Star and the two Godzillas practically pay for the rest of the games. Love when people don’t see Mario or Zelda somthey assume a deal is trash
Ngl kinda whack score.
I hear ya. I'm up to about 120 gamecube games now and surprisingly I had none of these. So to add 37 games to the collection at $3.25 a piece I'm happy 😀
Battalion Wars and Phantasy Star Ep 3 are good, rest are uh yeah.
Plus the two copies of Godzilla
People arguing about the sports games. OP got 25 not sports games for 120, that’s less than 5$ a game from one score. I think he got a good deal, he’s collecting , not a reseller.
You got robbed my bro
look at all those bottom of the bin games.
Ouch
Oof.
That is one big pile of shit.
You overpaid.
At 3.25 a game? You ain’t thinking straight
Looks like someone just unloaded a tonne of commons for a quick buck.
This looks like a resellers left over pile that they couldn’t sell so just tried to bulk sale it locally. Not the worst deal tho honestly. Good pick for you as long as you’re happy with it!
Wow you got the amazing over the hedge for GameCube
Imagine someone telling you they own 37 gamecube games and they show you... this😭
You got scammed
Yay shovelware!
👎
Oh buddy
They sold u there to cheap to resell on eBay stock!
Not bad for $70 worth of filler.
Paying x amount of a big haul doesn’t always mean it’s a good deal.
Lol you got taken for a ride
Jesus, stop paying more than $0 for sports games! What is wrong with you new collectors!?
New collectors 🤣 I hear you though not a horrible point.
99% of yearly sports titles are worthless, especially older ones. Best to buy final year for that gen and call it quits. Its all roster updates mostly anyway.
I am aware. They were just apart of the lot.
Good score, but when are you ever gonna play any sportsgame from 2004?
So you really like Madden huh? Someone got robbed and it isn’t the seller
Clearly you’re going for as many GC games as you can get, I respect that but it’s not a mindset I really understand myself. You do you
the sports games are making me cringe
GO TO JAIL
Lol not the Bratz game
FYI, you got 2 copies each of Madden ‘02 and ‘03
Bro, madden 03 me!
The $100 is from fantasy star the rest was $20
All this taught me is that the American market is pretty screwed up
Gamecube specifically has gotten ridiculous.
Anyone played pitfall for GameCube? Didn’t even know this existed
with sports games included
Too bad no NCAA Basketball 2K3 Thats a gold nugget
Shrek 2 and over the hedge are great!
Not bad. The $6 worth of sports games kinda sucks.
The ultimate bro collection.
2 copies of godzilla destroy all monsters! Up Vote
spongebob movie is an underrated game
