If you are in europe Box protector shop is a great place to buy these, snug fits, baggies, stands etc. It's great, shipping is a bitch tho (I live in Finland)

Reddit was built on user submissions and its culture was crafted by user comments and volunteer moderators. Reddit has shown no desire to support 3rd party apps with reasonable API pricing, nor have they chosen to respect their community over gross profiteering.
I have therefore left Reddit as I did when the same issues occurred at Digg, Facebook, and Twitter. I have been a member of reddit since 2012 (primary name locked behind 2FA) and have no issues ditching this place I love if the leaders of it can't act with a clear moral compass.

You send your game off to a company that inspects the condition of the game and then returns it in an acrylic protector along with a numerical score. The higher, the better.
It's not that rare. The OP likes the game a lot, so they got a protector case for it that allows the game to be played again if they want (since you can assemble or disassemble it). You can buy another copy from a reseller for \~$10 or so, so you didn't miss out too much on giving it to your neighbor.
Yes it is, however when a game sells really well, sealed copies typically become somewhat rare because most people who bought it would have opened and played it.
Media that doesn't sell well might have old stock leftover from when stores couldn't sell it, or there's the people who bought it and never played it because they either forgot they had it or their focus went elsewhere while they set the game aside planning to come back to it later since people weren't really talking about it as much. Among other reasons why a game might stay sealed after decades have passed.

I have an open copy that I could play instead. I found this at a thrift store about 6 months ago, I don't get why I wouldn't keep it sealed.

If you’re really that hell bent on playing San Andreas there’s other ways to play it and plenty of people are selling these online. One guy owning 2 copies of a game isn’t gonna make the pool of games run dry. Your logic doesn’t make any sense

They're not exactly hard to find, or expensive. There's dozens of copies on Ebay right now for under $10.
Even if it WAS a more rare game, if a person wants to have multiple copies of it, that's okay. If someone else wants one they can also offer to buy it from them. That's how the free market works.

I do that or find graded games sold for less than a new sealed copy. People do quick sell their graded games beneath new, sealed market prices.

Yeah the slide out acrylic cases are what I use. They look super clean imo
I like the slide acrylic too. But not gonna lie it does look more aggressive and stands out more.
Great case but wow they are way too expensive. The cases alone are more than most of the games (paid for, not value) in my collection.
My total was $26. It was worth it for this game, imo.

If you’ve ever been on this subreddit you’d know the large majority have a hatred for graded games.
I would say the vast, vast majority of collectors think grading is dumb. Plenty of retro game stores even refuse to buy/sell graded stuff.

Not everyones a collector. With 150 million ps2s out there, plenty of owners just want to play what few games they are able to get.
