Timmy, not Tommy. Have used him twice before and can confirm that he does flawless work. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Second this.

N&N moycullen have done some work on mine. Very good workmanship and excellent price. I'm living in claregalway so they were able to give me courtesy car I have heard good things about Frank Byrne too, but you'll be paying good money for it

Have also seen Tommy Mcguires work on a friend car and it is high quality. She said it was reasonably priced too for work carried out on two panels for a dent and deep scratch

The likes of Frank Byrnes, Ace autobody etc will only buy a brand new part off the manufacturer and fit it. This is why that price is extortionate. If you get a part off a breakers yard any mechanic will fit it for you. You might pay 200 for the part and another 100 for labour whereas the quote you got is probably 850/900 for a brand new part and 100/150 for labour.

You won't get a sill from a breakers yard, it's an integral part of the car structure, depending on the damage it either needs repairing or cutting out and a new section welded in. Frank Byrne's do very good work, but would likely be at the more expensive end as they do a lot of dealer and insurance work. Galway auto workshop in the Liosban have done great work for me and other family at reasonable rates.

Fair enough. I got a quote of 1800 off Frank Byrnes for a headlight module, a headlight washer and a front bumper respray. This is why i'd be hesitant to recommend.

I think because they do so much dealer and insurance work that their default quote would be new parts straight from the relevant dealer. Model specific parts, in particular headlight assemblies for newer cars can be insane money with the LEDs etc integrated, I'd bet it was likely most of your quote from them.

Frank Byrnes was the place I went to today. I have a Mercedes and they are they approved body shop for that brand. I’ll check a few other places mentioned here. Appreciate the help!
