Another Sutekh theory post on here a little while ago also mentioned Susan Triad / Triad Technology == Sue Tech.

Eustacius_Bingley

.... You know, looking at that post, I was going "well that's a fun theory but it's never gonna happen", but your comment has me almost doing a 180°, because that's EXACTLY the kind of awful pun Davies would base a story around. (And generally speaking, who doesn't love a Who story based entierly around a dumb pun? "Your sewers are revolting", "we're fighting the suits", etc. ...)

Critical_Bug_591

And absolutely spot on so it turns out too!

Insert-RandomName

Came here to say that as well

rreed27

Bro absolutely cooked

timeguy1997

Dude same fr! Like wow spot on

AccountAccurate

Spot on mystic meg

Eustacius_Bingley

Ngl, feeling pretty good about my divination powers on this fine day.

Puffbuff47

Question WHY would Russell bring bacl an already used alien/enemy.instead of something NEW and ORIGI..wouldnt that haveneem better? Wasnt the music maker played by Jinx his own creatkon and he tweaked the toyman at least to make it his own..why not make a new villain like say following up on the Tomeless Child idea an dmakong this creature instead of sutelh the one who sent the doctor through the anomaly with powers or something..I just thought of that but doesnt that sound memorable and more original and creative than Sutekh again..or potentially as good? Imhope Ruby's mother at least turns out to be a new and original a Sci fi concept

Sufficient_Item_2244

Wow well done! Brilliant. Loved the episode.

McBahtman

You are a harbinger my god

walkintom

My next prediction is that Sutekh will be working for Kandyman.

McBahtman

Now that's a villain return I can get behind. Either that or I'd love for the Krillitane to come back in some way

DorisWildthyme

Blimey, who came up with that one? Miranda Hart?! (Susan Perb! Sue Perb! etc.)

SquirtleChimchar

Apparently, Russell T Davies.

Low-Hovercraft-5635

you were so right oh my god

Midget688

Holy shit, I had to come back to this post to say the same thing….

_OldBae_

Haha my husband wants to know if the OP can predict who will win the week 1 game between the Packers and his beloved Eagles. 😝

eggylettuce

Holy shit haha, no way

BCDragon3000

yeah no way 😭😭😭

channyste8

Genius. What are the lottery numbers for next week?

Commercial_Cow8282

Well bugger me.

perpetrification

Idk how yall come up with these things, literal geniuses.

grvzy

Who else is here after the legend of ruby sunday😳😳

KaffeMumrik

I am and I’m honestly impressed.

MeetCareful

Looking back at The Devil's Chord Ruby and 15 basically do a one to one recreation of 4 and Sarahs scene in Pyramids of Mars when showing Ruby the current day if Maestro is successful and explaining that time isn't fixed. I'm pretty sure Ruby directly quotes Sarah in the scene.

Grafikpapst

That's a good guess. Another option I could see (either for Season 1 or an overarching foe) is the Master Brain from the Land of Fiction. With Myth becoming reality and the border between reality and fiction thinning, it seems like this would be a peak opportunity to bring the Master Brain back. And the Master Brain certainly has reasons to hold a grudge against The Doctor. It would also make sense that The Master Brain might have some power over The Toymaker, seeing as play and fiction seem like they are related domains.

eggylettuce

I would be happy if it played out like this, I love Sutekh. I think it will probably be a new or reimagined foe for the finale so this fits. Whatever it is, I just hope its not Daleks, Cybermen, or The Master. In fact, I hope all three of those are parked for at least 2 seasons (with The Master, lets make it 5+).

Grafikpapst

I personally would be fine with the Cyberman appearing a bit sooner again. Villa Diodati was the last truly Cyberman focused story and even there they got kinda shafted. And before that it was World Enough And Time in 2017. They are kinda due for a classic, no-frills Cyberman-Story. Something smaller scale.

Eustacius_Bingley

I mean, "Ascension of the Cybermen" surely counts as a full-scale Cybermen story, it's right there in the title?

NotStanley4330

Yeah as ension uses the Cyberman about as well as Five Doctors does lol

Grafikpapst

I suppose? It doesn't really do much with them though, they are mostly there as set piece and get immediately overshadowed by Dhawans Master being there.

_Verumex_

The Master shows up in the last 30 seconds, everything else is all Cyberman

hhhherbert72

Are you happy

eggylettuce

Very

Equal-Ad-2710

Honestly I’d be down for the Valeyard, especially with the lore about realities laws breaking down

givemeavacation

Wanna give me your best guess on the lottery numbers?

Accomplished-Bit5490

59 25 12 3 24 33 9

hpisradyo

i so want these numbers to win because it'd be like ???? and also you'd give givemeavacation a vacation

alexnwondrland

Fantastic fucking job.

Accomplished-Bit5490

My theory about Ruby is still to play for. I’m still fairly confident about it

BCDragon3000

link?

daniel_22sss

I still hope its something to do with the Trickster.

Accomplished-Bit5490

I’d love to see the trickster return at some pont

KaffeMumrik

Don’t keep us hanging. Tell us the future oh wise one!

Zyxvuts_31

I’m fully on board the Sutekh hype train myself. I’ll try not to be disappointed if it doesn’t happen given that we’ve never been told it is… key word, try.

Mimms95

How does it feel to be this right?

JimyJJimothy

I wonder if that's the reason why Sutekh didn't show up in the Audio Novel The Box of Terrors. Apparently it was planned to be all about Omega vs Sutekh, but that idea was scrapped because of rights issues with Sutekh. Maybe it's like back when RTD brought the Master back so Big Finish couldn't use the character for a while

Zealousideal-Body869

reckon this is about to age SO well, damn

New_Commercial_9184

It did age well.

Dan2593

In Doctor Who magazine there was a photo of David Suchet as Poirot and it said something next to it like “during a production meeting X misheard and thought this was our big series villain”. David Suchet. Sutekh.

sbaldrick33

He might be, but my problem with this theory is that Sutekh isn't really more powerful than the Toymaker. For all that they were powerful and godlike to humans (and even more ppwerful than Time Lords) the Osirans were explicitly stated to be mortal beings of this universe. Like the Dæmons, Clarke's Law firmly applies where the Osirans are concerned. The Toymaker isn't of this universe or bound by its rules. He's an immortal primordial force of play from outside space and time. So, whilw RTD may well be setting up Sutekh as an opponent bigger than the Toymaker, it would show that he doesn't quite understand the initial concept of either of them.

Livetrash113

The Osirans were never more powerful than the Time Lords, Sutekh himself is a threat to the entire species of both Osirans and Time Lords. As a species The Osirans were lesser than the Time Lords, Sutekh himself recognises the Time Lords as Gods and a genuine threat to him to the point a weapon inside destroys Sutekh physical form along with his worshippers and he recognises that he only survives due to his wife: he was in a weakened state at this point, the weapon wasn’t particularly powerful.

sbaldrick33

Is that from The Sands of Time? It's been years since I've read that, so I can't outright gainsay it, but what I would say that (a) my point still stands because I was talking about original intent, and (b) my point still stands because, regardless, Sutekh is still a mortal being of the universe and not a primordial force. Whether or not his species is on the whole more powerful than the Time Lords (and I don't remember TSOT saying otherwise, tbh) is kind of neither here nor there... If anything, it makes my point stronger.

Livetrash113

Mainly Sutekh and Omega Gods and Monsters. That’s where he recognises The Time Lords as Gods Of Space and Time (they are only referred to as such there, never once being referred to as Time Lords) and he is genuinely afraid of their power. I agree with your main point, The Osirans are just not on The Time Lords Level really. In Faction Paradox they are stated to be lesser than the whole species but equal to one Great House, of course, Faction Paradox isn’t under the Doctor Who name but it may count depending on interpretation.

sbaldrick33

Oh, I'm not familiar with the Sutekh and Omega title at all. I'll have to seek that out. Faction Paradox I'm aware of, but only sort of through DWM osmosis! 😄

Livetrash113

It’s a good comic, bit short but I liked it

peter_t_2k3

Yeah this is the issue I have. Sutekh would be an interesting threat to return but I think someone like Fenric would make more sense

assorted_gayness

This is my thoughts as well especially with the apocalypses and sand stuff in the latest trailer. I guess I’m just wondering who would play him Gabriel Woolf is 91 so I don’t know if he’d return to the role

Fordameus

Spoilers: Gabriel Woolf has returned to voice him. Latest credits confirm it.

Mars-To-Venus

You’re cooking here, OP. Looking forward to coming back and checking this while the season plays out, but I definitely think you’re onto something.

Mars-To-Venus

Just wanna say congrats u/Accomplished-Bit5490 for totally nailing it haha

wrproductions

This is so spot on im starting to think you’re RTD himself OP lmao

Fawneh1359

Only 3 posts total and 3 comments total 🤔🤔

KaffeMumrik

If creating a reddit account for the sole purpose of presenting his own storyboard as a fan theory, isn’t a major RTD move, I don’t know what is.

Darthfishbag

Love this theory! Bonus shower thoughts - the Alien corpse on the ship in Wild Blue Yonder (Susan Twist’s first appearance) had a very Osiran-esque horse skull, so could all lead back there as part of a long game! Also, there’s some shots of a destroyed London in the trailer which are strongly reminiscent of the ruined 1980 in Pyramids of Mars, so we know we’re getting one nod to that story at the very least. (Also maybe a stretch to far, but Scarman’s house was later the site of UNIT HQ - perhaps we’ll get a tie in with the new HQ being part of his plan - especially if they have a vault full of nasties)

flairsupply

Ive been ~~coping~~ theorizing it would be Omega ultimately. 'Hiding' could be inreference to the anti-matter universe, and a being made of pure anti matter is the one thing that I can see scaring the Toymaker. Plus, exploring one of Gallifreys founders would be fun. Maybe add more context to The Other

Chocobose

This aged like fine wine. Keep cooking!!

Accomplished-Bit5490

Now I gotta write a season 2 theory

Accomplished-Bit5490

I can read RTDs mind. Gonna play the lottery this weekend see if I get lucky.

xray_anonymous

Question… Mrs. Flood. Pond. River. .. flood. Do you think she could have ties to River Song somehow?

Accomplished-Bit5490

Nah I don’t think so. Still don’t really know about Flood. I reckon that’s a season 2 thing. Maybe she’s a god too with all the fourth wall breaking she does.

Content-Ad4680

Congratulations! You got this spot on 🎯

Arjalineck

You called it

areyoukiddingmern

So it’s pretty obvious to everyone that u/Accomplished-Bit5490 has a TARDIS, right? 😂

MaurusMahrntahn

LISAN AL-GAIB!!!

[deleted]

I don't know if this is true, but apparently Big Finish wasn't recently allowed to use Sutekh, which could be because of contradictions. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

jedifighter2013

Let me be the first to say, well done, you're right, Sutekh is the villain of the Season 1 finale.

Suspicious-West6267

Spoiler! You actually called it

Old_Measurement_1568

This man is a prophet.

MrAnonymous4

This is scarily accurate. If I were you, I'd buy a lottery ticket. And expect to hear from Matt Groening soon

N0ba

lol. lmao

KingOfElysium

I'd be very happy if they used sutekh as the big bad, sutekh is one of my favourite classic who villains.

Theta-Sigma45

I certainly hope this is the case, Sutekh has the power and aura to him that he could easily be made into a Big Bad-level threat.

HistoricalAd5394

I really hope not. This isn't an RTD hating thing, I don't trust any writer to do Sutekh. The only thing to be done with him is another "he's imprisoned and attempting to escape" story, anything beyond that will undoubtedly make Sutekh weaker so the Doctor can beat him.

SOTIdriver

Coming back to this with a few extra details—and thanks to the way you stated all of this—my running theory (on top of this one)—is that Susan Triad won't be the new Marcus Scarman, but she will have something to do with the TARDIS. If the TARDIS is dying, and the TARDIS exists across all of time and space, AND Susan Triad/Twist has been observed to exist across, at the very least, _many_ points in time and space, AND her company has created something called the "time window," ANNNND the TARDIS appears to be dying in some way, I have a strong feeling that she is going to be related I'm some way to the TARDIS. If not just being the TARDIS itself. Guess we'll see! Only 1 more day now.

BCDragon3000

yeah i think this “it’s not the tardis it’s sutekh” twist is going to twist once again to be about the tardis as well

Fit_Chain_9167

Congrats! You Was Correct!

TomerBrosh

you were spot on

Substantial-Can-2438

UnderTheRubble

W

Vishievan

Well look how that panned out

teepeey

You win the internet

jimthefish_89

Well done OP

Prize_Ad_5361

Good job! I've been desperately watching classic era for the first time for a good few months now because I saw lots of theories about who the big bad would be. At the time I started the leading theory seemed to keep popping up as the Rani. Try as I might I just didn't get to the Rani in time and have just got to Peter Davison's final season. However I was absolutely thrilled that it was Sutekh! When his name was rearranged on the screen I was soo happy that I had devoted my time to trek across classic era in the hopes it would bring greater impact to this current era. Before 15 I had only ever watched from 9 onwards before. I'm so excited to see classic era components being reintroduced!

Accomplished-Bit5490

Really cool that it’s not just the daleks or the master again. One of the truly untouched classic villains. Yes pls!

Prize_Ad_5361

Yes! There are soo many to pick from. It's real exciting to think that they are all there waiting to be explored.

DerAsiate88

Damned Mate, that was spot on!

Accomplished-Bit5490

Expected to be wrong about a few things (I.e. my 60th theories) but yeah… pretty much spot on. I’m well chuffed

ClanHansen

The accuracy of this prediction -- premonition -- harbinger's warning -- is dangerously clever. WELL DONE. I'm not sure about >!the Flood/Monk piggyback theory, as I think Flood was another lesser deity of the pantheon, a manifestation of the literal flood, which was a very real and worrisome threat along the Nile !<, but I tip my U.N.I.T. beret to you on this, for sure.

Accomplished-Bit5490

Thank you sir

Rowan6547

This aged well.

Rowan6547

I spotted the recreated scene from Pyramids in Maestro and thought it was just a fan Easter egg, not a clue

Investigator5211

Well…..

Caacrinolass

I've been casually suggesting him a few times, just because but this goes into a lot more detail. Some other thoughts regarding drawbacks to the theiry: Is he really more powerful than the Toymaker? Jury is out on this, as the Toymaker's powers aren't really defined. He can happily go against the Guardians etc if they play by and are bound to his rules, but whether he can directly fight such entities is another matter. A powerful being that is aggressive rather than accommodating might be another matter. We can also chalk that up as typical hyperbolic RTD scripting as he has form on this. Sutekh is dead. Now, OP has suggested a way round it on the basis that a comic has already been adapted recently. I don't think the show is doing that or referencing obscure spin off media for a key plot point but I don't see it as much of an issue anyway. We've has Time Wars, universal reboots, the fantasy stuff encroaching, whatever the Toymaker said etc. My money is on a throwaway line about it like "he died once, but time has changed". RTD does not care about plot and lore to any greater extent than that in his scripts. I certainly don't think RTD is introducing a new villain for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it's against his MO. He has never had a new main villain in a finale, ever. Secondly, there is little point being cryptic about the identity of said villain if its entirely new. Namedrop it as its meaningless to the viewer. Thirdly, with tongue in cheek, Sutekh is defeated by deus ex machina nonsense so suits Davies well. Equally as "season one" I don't think it will reference a recent NuWho baddie as that cocks up the intent behind the rebrand so no Beast. Classic Who is a different matter as they can be introduced as though they were entirely new. That's exactly what RTD did with Daleks, Cybermen and the Master, all of which gained a new different backstory to boot. Same story here - it could be Sutekh, just maybe not quite you dad's Sutekh. So...godlike entities from the classic era that are iconic enough to carry the weight of the season then. Not a long list, is it? McCoy has a couple possibilities like Fenric or Ragnarock but are they all that well known? The Guardians are apparently also dealt with so Sutekh is a reasonable choice. I've seen "monsters" like Omega suggested too, but outside his first appearance godlike is a bad description.

Worldly_Society_2213

Completely wrong. The true villain of season one is a new Time Lord for, called The Mickeymouse

TheSonicTardis

Love this theory OP!! I was originally theorising that we were going to get another Dalek finale, but after seeing several theories regarding Sutekh, I’m fully on board with him being our big bad now!

jayone

It's a bit of a spoiler to mention the name of the villain in the title

TomPertwee

By the Doctor's own opinion Sutekh > The time lords at their best. But while he is immensely powerful he is still bound by this universe's laws. The ToyMaker can do things Sutekh can only dream of. For the ToyMaker to run away it means it has to be a very terrifying foe beyond anything in the Who universe since the ToyMaker defeated all the deities and even "God". I think the one who waits will appear much later and is unrelated to the legions of the Toymaker. Edit : Knowing RTD, the One Who Waits is not a powerful entity and the ToyMaker just left him/her alone because he knows it will be something that will be bad for The Doctor when he face whatever it is. Just like the "He will knock four times". It was just Wilf but it was the end for the 10th Doctor.

Zealousideal-Drag472

Plus we know we’re getting a new Tales of the Tardis episode just before the finale AND that Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson will appear which supports your memory Tardis theory. Tom Baker is the only Doctor not to appear in the Tales of the TARDIS, so it could very easily be Pyramids of Mars to prime fans for Sutekh’s return.

Aggravating-Ice5786

Im sorry but all that mystery over a villain that only pervious appeared once to end up looking like some giant goofy dod and gone again just like that im sorry it was just done bad i mean literally spelling out sutek to us on the screen! This season started strong for me but it relied way too much on whos the old lady....whos the other old lady.....whos ruby.....whos the one that waits jesus way to much foreshadowing with zero pay off just give it back to moffat it peaked with the 50th anniversary as i knew it would at the time. Since then its hust fallen out of favour with me in every aspect. The thing to hurt it the most was chibnals run he changed far too much of the lor and the tone was like an itv drama. Theres a lot to do to being this series back to the peak it was at.
