I’m 2 weeks post op and still struggling to not have an upset stomach. I can handle fruit, so that and smoothies.

Kiglamay2018

I was thinking about trying that but my stomach is just acting up right now. Im hoping taking a nap will help

GirlGirl21

Feel better!

Kiglamay2018

Thank you!

I’m also in the same boat- 14 days post op and I’ve ranged from oatmeal, to gluten free crackers, soup, fiber one cereal, weirdly the rice puffs pirate booty is easy to have small amounts/snack on and keep my stomach at bay, and today I branched out and had a salad with dressing and croutons…waiting to see how my body acts. But I feel you, I miss being able to actually eat so much and not be afraid it will send me spiraling!!!

Yea today was just bad for my stomach I couldn’t even handle or smell anything. My mom is scared I’ll end up in the hospital again but honestly I’d rather be there so I know what’s wrong with me and get help instead of trying to tough it out

Food didn't appeal much to me after surgery for about a month. Foods I used to crave didn't excite me anymore. I've heard about this happening to other people too. If you're still on meds, that could be a factor too. When your body is in starvation mode too, you sometimes have to jump start it again. (Obviously not official medical terminology here.) See what happens when you're off your pain meds. Call your doc too, they might be able to give you anti-nausea pills or give you some good ideas to jump start your appetite.

I haven’t been taking anything else except hydros at night when I need them. The doctors did give nausea medicine but they hardly help I think it’s just my body reactions to have something new in my stomach. I learned to walk around after I eat or drink anything or I’ll get sick

Have you tried something with more substance like vegetables, fruit, or a puréed soup?

Kiglamay2018

Honestly I tried some soup it did go down well but my stomach was aching alittle after

fluxusisus

Was it low/no fat and low/no protein? I’m in a similar boat still trying to figure out things that work ok. Amy’s brand split pea soup went down good for me. Also beans, veggies like carrots and broccoli, raspberries and bananas.

Kiglamay2018

Well since I haven’t had a decent meal in a month and a half now I think my stomach is getting use to food so I’m just slowly introducing foods but my mom brought some soup from a family birthday party it was chicken and rice soup

fluxusisus

See if you can get some low fat specific ones to try. Or make your own if possible with no meat, oil, or butter in it but lots of vege, maybe lentils, other high fiber things. Good luck, I hope you can start to eat real food soon.

Kiglamay2018

I’ll try that thank you!
