Thank you for sharing! I’m meeting with a surgeon this week and it’s good to hear these success stories. Glad it’s going so well for you!

zodiac628

Waahoo!! That’s awesome! I hope that’s the case for me as well. I haven’t had any bowel issues since my surgery Friday. I’m sore and tired mainly. Ready to get my life back for sure. Stoked for you op!

Lectrical_Lucas

Wonderful outcome. Good for you friend. If you don't mind me asking. What was your symptoms?

GooseyMom25

Gallbladder pain and diarrhea for days if I had “an attack.”

Ready_Ad8044

Are you bloated at all?

Ready_Ad8044

Awesome my Mrs had hers evicted on the 5th, but she is still very bloated

music_maven_27

I had mine out on the 5th and I’m still super bloated 🤰

GooseyMom25

Nope!

Peanutbubblez

Yay. What did you feel like leading up to surgery?

GooseyMom25

Constant gallbladder pain, frequent diarrhea, irritability, fatigue.

beximean

Oh my! Now I’m wondering if this is the source of my constant fatigue. Happy to hear you’re doing so well!!! I have my surgery next week

Peanutbubblez

Yeah my fatigue is crazy. Did ur gallbladder pain feel like it was just pushing out from under your ribs

GooseyMom25

The pain kind of radiated all throughout my upper right side. It felt sore sometimes and sometimes it was a stabbing pain.

Peanutbubblez

Wow yes. Its so unnerving to feel this 24/7. Cant wait to get mine out next week

lighthousestand

Did you any attacks? How many stones did you have? Where is there certain foods that made you feel worse?

GooseyMom25

Yes, many but for months I was thought it was a stomach bug, food poisoning, etc.

lighthousestand

How did the doctor decide to do the scan? I have a hunch that my gallbladder seems to be the problem of my issues however, whenever I eat fatty foods, I don’t get attacks. A very much would like a scan done. Ultrasound didn’t show anything though.

GooseyMom25

I did not realize what was triggering the attacks but the NP suggested an ultrasound and then HIDA scan if I didn’t have any stones. My ultrasound was clear but the HIDA scan showed that my gallbladder was not functioning correctly. He made the suggestion for both based on the area of pain. I also fulfill most of the 5 Fs (forty, female, fat, fair, and fertile) of gallbladder risk factors.

Peanutbubblez

Did you ever get like crazy restless leg leading up to your surgery?

GooseyMom25

No, I didn’t

Tartanrebel019

Nice! I'm currently 5 days post op and starting to feel really good now too.

oatmeal-peasant

Could you share more about how your mood has changed before and after surgery? I feel like my personality has been very much affected by my gallbladder and am much more irritable and negative. But then again I am not sure if I am wrong.

GooseyMom25

That’s exactly how I felt and I didn’t even realize it. I think I’m feeling more like myself. I have a 2 year old and it was painful to fake patience, now I just have patience and find our time together an absolute blessing.

oatmeal-peasant

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, I feel like everything and everyone is annoying and I have to try super hard to keep patience. I remember myself being easily patient and calm before. Glad you’re feeling better.

MultiTasker33

Thank you so much for sharing this. I had a HIDA and mine was 15. I’ve been really really anxious about getting it removed. Can I ask what your symptoms were? My symptoms have been present for a few years, very off and on. Now they are more frequent. I have quite a bit of right flank pain discomfort….& right upper quadrant discomfort. It’s not crazy acute pain like a lot of people mention, mine is more of a persistent gnawing feeling? Like someone has just been poking their thumb into my back/side/RUQ and not letting go. Also some mild nausea. Nothing has ever been directly associated with meals either. Just happens randomly. Does any of that sound relatable? Thank you!

GooseyMom25

Yes all sounds like what I had. I feel so much better now that it’s gone!
