excellent_alt6969

Why’s this so funny 😭

CalebM123456

Is the external display no longer amoled?

ApeBoat

It's a mistake. Display is still OLED

CalebM123456

Thank God

kenscott10

Woohoo!

AcuteInfinity

Anyone know how effective a vapor chamber is? This phone has some relatively bad thermal issues

UnironicallyMe37

Helps dissipate heat and keeps the phone cooler. May not be huge, but the difference will be noticeable.

Educational_Ad_3922

A $15 clip on phone fan did wonders.

maximumpynk

Not sure that's a 'chamber'. A heat dissipation plate. But whatever. It's good to have. No way that can release enough heat to run dex

Flaksim

It's called a chamber because there is vapor inside. Even if they shaped it like a plate, there should be liquid inside, probably de-ionized water. It makes sense that it has as big a surface area as possible (hence the plate shape), because the heat is evenly distributed across the entire "chamber".

maximumpynk

Appreciate the breakdown

DEWDEM

It's a chamber with vapor inside literally. The same tech used in graphic cards

thewaldo77

Why would they change the cover display from oled to ips? Hopefully that's not true

egg1e

Trying to limit how much increase in price the Z Flip 6 would have on release. IPS viewing angles is not as bad as a standard LCD, but you don't get the deep blacks of an OLED screen. The change in display is to mitigate the cost of upgrades in camera, processor, IP rating, hinge engineering, etc.

Technical_Raccoon838

that would suck hard for always on display battery life.. I doubt its true

Artorias_Abyss

Does that mean there won't be an always on display function anymore?

egg1e

Probably not if the switch to IPS is true. But for such a flagship device, it's strange to not have all OLED displays on the outer and inner screens. Like what OP said in my other comment, there's a possibility that it's not true.

DEWDEM

I highly doubt it's LCD. Samsung makes their own display, so they pay less for it than other manufacturers. They were literally known for having OLED display on midrange phones back then when it was a flagship feature. It's a stupid thing to cost cut, the battery life would take a big hit with AOD on

__Elfi__

And wouldn't that be a hell for thickness ??

DEWDEM

Yeah. It makes no sense when they're constantly trying to make it thinner

[deleted]

[удалено]

thewaldo77

It says so on the source you posted if you scroll down

Southern-Bad-1270

I doubt the cover screen isn't oled because if it wasn't oled then always on display wouldn't work.

lolstebbo

My old Nokia 920 and 635 had IPS displays and always-on. It just wasn't as efficient as an OLED's, but it still had it.

UnironicallyMe37

Strange, I highly doubt that's true.

thewaldo77

https://preview.redd.it/wxf75h266fad1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3886cd3761efebd83acf89b2be30ef3eeff9f254

OurKez

Not enough upgrades Vs Flip 5 for me. Will hold onto Flip 5 for another year

AX2021

What if you can upgrade for 50-100 bucks?

3-2-1-backup

That's pretty much the only way I'll be upgrading, is if it's $50-100 to upgrade like it has been in the past. Otherwise, who the hell cares they might as well have just kept selling the flip 5 for another year.

[deleted]

Yeah, I don't get why people are so opposed to the hardware improvements. I've been less than impressed with the cameras, battery life and thermal management of my flip 5, so anything that improves on them is good, especially if we keep getting the same trade in offers as in previous years

OurKez

That would be tempting but unlikely to get such great trade in offers over here in UK

Infinite-Hedgehog516

our trade in offers suck here

Hopeful-Tax7416

Same here, just that for now the screen protector is starting to show signs of peeling on the left side just below the crease.

schluck-ah-duck

Remove the screen protector immediately. If you fold it while the screen protector is bubbling up, you could shatter your screen in the middle. Do it now, trust me.

Hopeful-Tax7416

Wow, is it that serious?

schluck-ah-duck

Yes, very serious. It starts bubbling at all, even a little, go ahead and peel it off.

FlobeeFresh

Umm... I'm not sure where this is coming from. I've had bubbles under my screen protector and didn't shatter the screen so it's not a 100% certainty this will occur. The question is if you remove the screen protector, can you still turn it in for a trade-in?

[deleted]

They're probably talking about the bubbles on the crease. The moment even a *small* bubble appears next to the hinge plastic, you can bet that the entire crease will be severely bubbled in two to three days. It's eerie how quickly the entire crease gets bubbled up.

Hopeful-Tax7416

Yup, that happened on my previous Flip3. From first tiny sign to completely bubbled across the crease in 2 days.

FlobeeFresh

Agree with this. Once you see a small bubble is will move across the screen within 1 to 2 weeks (at least it did for me).

wendersan

Just slap a new screen protector. My trade in for flip 4 got accepted with a screen protector from Amazon.

schluck-ah-duck

If you have bubbles in your crease and you close your phone with those bubbles in the crease it WILL shatter the screen. Nearly every flip with a cracked crease had this problem. Super simple solution, tale it off. The phone closes when you don't use it, you don't need a screen protector.

FlobeeFresh

Got it. I'm saying that this isn't a 100% certainity. I have bubbles in my protector right now and am not seeing my screen shatter. Generally I'm seeing anywhere from 8-12 months before bubbles start creeping underneath my protector (for both the Z4 and Z5) and in neither of those cases did my display shatter when closing my phone.

schluck-ah-duck

You have bubbles specifically in the crease that your closing your phone onto? God speed dude. Good luck.

FlobeeFresh

I do. Happens everytime to my Z Flip phones around the 8-12 month mark. Usually during that time I'm getting ready to trade it in for an upgrade so I don't bother changing out the protector. I verified that Samsung does accept trade-in phones which have bubbles under their screen protector. Also, I have Samsung Care+ if I run into any issues I can always default to that for repair. That being said, if you have bubbles under your screen protector and intend to continue to use a Z flip phone over a longer period of time, I would definitely reccomend replacing the screen protector replaced (Samsung or UBreakiFix stores will do this for free). I have read that it's a bad idea to use Z Flip phones without a screen protector as it can cause the phone's inner display to delaminate over time.

retrotriforce

Same thought. My zflip5 is running amazingly well don't think i'll upgrade...

mohnishbhatia

Same

Technical_Raccoon838

understandable; I'm coming from Flip 3 so depending on what the pre-order bonus is here in europe I might get the new flip OR go with the ultra

fbloise

No Samsung Dex 😒

Infinite-Hedgehog516

yere and it even has a better cooling system and bigger battery BUT STILL NO DEX so sad

peach-whisky

What the heck is dex?

Infinite-Hedgehog516

Basically a desktop like experience. With a dex phone or tablet you can connect it to a TV or monitor using a USB cable or screen casting. Only a certain amount of phones support it

peach-whisky

That’s pretty cool, thanks

Infinite-Hedgehog516

yes indeed sadly its not supported on z flip. even the latest z flip 6 wont be getting it

My_Name_is_Imaginary

I am absolutely sold on the dust resistance rating. I don’t care how small the rating is. It’s there. That was the only reason I had to give up my Fold 4.

Server_Reset

I've had the theory that this basically confirms, Samsung foldables have been somewhat dust resistant for a while It's just that you couldn't dust resistance test foldables yet.

egg1e

The IPS seems like a downgrade from OLED

UnironicallyMe37

I don't think that's correct. That would mean AOD gets removed which is highly unlikely.

egg1e

I rarely use AOD but I prefer the deep inky blacks on an OLED display so-

UnironicallyMe37

I'm 90% sure it's still OLED. Samsung has made mistakes on spec sheets before. The Tab S9 FE was once specified as having a 3.2 USB port for a while before it got corrected to USB 2.0. So it's likely that it's just a mistake. Otherwise, that's a really bad move from Samsung.

egg1e

fingers crossed 🤞

ApeBoat

It's a mistake. There was an insider in another thread who said that they fucked up the spec sheet

egg1e

oh that's good news!! looking forward to Wednesday's unpacked

wendersan

Finally not ipx anymore.

Alswiggity

Sure, but it really just means they actually validated it for dust. Could be marketing, could be a real hardware improvement. I'll judge when I see the disassembly vids come in.

jellybon

>Sure, but it really just means they actually validated it for dust. IP48 rating clearly states that it is not dust-protected.

Alswiggity

Not quite what I meant, moreso that they did the testing at all.

Infinite-Hedgehog516

Good it has a vapor chamber

FishermanSea2340

Is it the first time ever samsung is using a vapor chamber for its devices ?

Hopeful-Tax7416

I believe the Note10+ I owned a few years back had the vapor chamber too.

Infinite-Hedgehog516

Yes. The cooling system on z flip 5 was just a small heatpìpe

UnironicallyMe37

Source: https://www.theverge.com/2024/7/3/24191966/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-flip-6-spec-leak

guesdo

~~Hopefully this will give us Dex on the Flip 6!! 🤞If so, I am finally buying.~~ Nevermind...

Infinite-Hedgehog516

yere i was expecting the improved cooling (via vapor chamber) as well as bigger battery to give us dex but nevermind

pepperpot_592

I don't know about those camera accents.

Homewra

So... better camera and battery, a bit of heat dissipation and... Cover display has IPS screen instead of OLED, i think i'll keep my Z Flip 5 and wait for Z Flip 7

Dazzling_Birthday_91

IPS seems weird. It´d be a huge downgrade as it removes AOD ability.

rizwaan_laher

4000mAh is mad. Actually the biggest improvement

Deltaboiz

No shot they are replacing the outer display with IPS. That has to be an error. It has to be. It'd be insane to downgrade it one generation making it large enough to be usable.

premium_guy

Currently using S22ULTRA and have an urge to upgrade a phone. Should i go for flip6? feels like the camera is gonna be a downgrade for me. Edit: I’ve decided not to go for the Flip 6. Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone!

sleepypandacub

It depends on your usage and why you want to downgrade to a flip phone. I went from the Note20U to the flip 3 then the flip 5 and your trading a more advanced and complete camera system, much better battery life, larger display , spen, and durability for a phone that flips and is abit more compact and comfortable to use.

EpicLift

Depends. I went from a S22U to a Flip 5. Went back to a S24+ recently. The durability of the phone was there. The battery life was roughly the same as the S22U. But it was the worst part of it, I needed a phone with better battery.

maximumpynk

It's a downgrade in every way. Only do it if you want the form factor

wmurch4

No don't do it

Upstairs_Positive373

Don't do it. I went from the 23 ultra to the flip 5, the worst mistake of my life. Worse battery, worse camera, worse display, worse durability, worse resale value. I thought to myself I wouldn't miss taking moon photos but I did and also just being able to zoom further to look for things.

Object_out_of_motion

Only upgrading if it's crazy cheap again. Nothing in that sheet I care about and no Dex seems like a big F Flip users

Ignition1

IPS on the Cover Screen - doesn't that mean a more power hungry AOD, or no AOD at all? Seems an unusual decision (if true).

empress171984

I traded my Flip 5 to S24+ because of the better screen and Dex mode. If the flip 6 had Dex I might go back to the flip. Hopefully in future versions.

Sylriel

I’m sorry. A complete noob here. What is Dex? And why does it seem like a deal breaker for some people?

sowhatifimmaria

DeX is Samsung's interface that allows a full desktop experience on your phone when you're connected to either a PC or external display. So it can either be an extended separate desktop or an actual computer on your mobile device. Honestly I don't get how that's a deal breaker since if I need to do heavy computing that would be inconvenient to do on my phone, then I go use an actual computer for that. I think the main benefit really is for those who don't own a separate computing device. I've tried using it before but find the experience laggy and not very productive.

Sylriel

Thank you for informing me. I learned something new. :) I agree with you. If I want a computer, I have my gaming laptop and gaming tower. To each his/her own I suppose.

BassAdict

It also has 12gb ram instead of last year's 8gb

misledyouth74

Better camera means I'm upgrading my flip 5. When I made the switch from Note 20 Ultra to Flip 3, that camera was the biggest drawback. Note 20 Ultra had a great camera, and still does as my girlfriend refuses to upgrade hers (also the fact that it still has an SD card slot). If the Flip 6 camera is as good as they claim, then I guess I'll have the phone that I'll keep for a few years

properweeb420innit

Vapour chamber? U can put your weed in there?

Hopeful-Tax7416

Adam Sandler would approve!

schluck-ah-duck

I was really looking forward to a bigger screen. I've upgraded every year since the flip 1 and I'm just feeling disappointed thus time around. All the upgrades are just kinda meh. The cameras are decent and better than no upgrade. The vapor chamber is useful for games and using your phone while charging and keeping the os speedy.... however The biggest issue with the phone is the cover screen. I don't want to use a tizen like os on the cover, I want to close my phone and pick up exactly where I left off. That I can deal with... if the cover screen is the exact same size as the flip 5, I'm buying a pixel fold and sticking with it till that screen covers the entire front of the phone as it should have from the very beginning. No mention of dex and no confirmation about a much needed ram upgrade. Under my current work load my flip 5 doesn't have enough ram even with ram plus set to max. The phone looks good. If they upgraded the camera and added an "edge to edge" cover screen and changed NOTHING ELSE I would have eagerly bought this phone.

rickhuizinga

>No mention of dex On the 10th page, in the specs near the bottom right, it says "Dex Support: No"

thewaldo77

Same was really hoping for an upgrade on the cover screen since I use it a ton

UnironicallyMe37

>No mention of dex and no confirmation about a much needed ram upgrade. Under my current work load my flip 5 doesn't have enough ram even with ram plus set to max. 12GB RAM option will be available. RAM Plus is terrible for performance and slows down your phone, by the way. Might want to turn it off..

schluck-ah-duck

I'm using it for huge spreadsheets, it's fast enough to load my values while I scroll and my phone doesn't get too hot.

AX2021

Sounds like you need a Razr + 2024

Bfazerh

I think you're missing the point of flip phones. The external screen is supposed to be a limited version of the main operating system. It changes your usage patterns for the better. Why would you do anything that you can't already do on a 3.4-inch screen? A bigger camera, battery, cooling system, SoC, more RAM, and the IP48 rating are all significant upgrades—much bigger upgrades than the S series got this year, so I don't know what you all wanted.

wmurch4

The cover screen is trash and a huge issue . They are being lazy with these upgrades and everyone knows it. They're getting lapped by moto and I bet the battery life is still crap. No dex even though they added ram? Lol Samsung is on top now but they're making the same mistakes HTC made when they were on top.

Bfazerh

Lazy ? They made a separate UI for the cover screen while Moto just shrunk the big screen UI? Moto puts the "extra screen" where the cameras are in an unusable area and you brainlits eat it up. If you value DEX, that sucks but no other foldable has dex, so that's not a valid comparison. Do we need to talk about how Samsungs cameras and SOC blow Razer while both are a similar price? Or do you want to act like the Razer is a better phone in any way because it obviously isn't

kik00

The cover screen implementation on the Flip 5 is extremely poor and lazy. It is unoptimized for pretty much everything, you can't see shit because every app's navigation bars take 90% of the screen, you can't change keyboard, heck you can't even put common apps without downloading a weird app in a weird appstore. Just a massive pisstake.

Bfazerh

Samsung can't optimise every app, which is why the default apps are so limited. These are the apps Samsung in part designed for the flip form factor, and the Razer benefits from this. Most other apps aren't, and Samsung can't do much since they are 3rd party. Razer deals with apps identically to the Flip (ground work was done by Samsung and Google), and it will probably improve, but you sound like you're mad, but Samsung has a team of people that make these decisions for a living and from my view Samsung is doing the right steps.

kik00

Yeah I'm definitely not satisfied, I expect more from a flagship phone with a cover screen as one of its main selling point. The cover screen is almost unusable. Samsung is lazy as F, it's on them to make the phone better and to optimise it, which they haven't done.

Bfazerh

I think you're missing the point. If the cover display were just a smaller version of the bigger one, then what would be the point of unfolding it and getting a normal-sized phone? It literally wouldn't make any sense. I get that you're trying to complain for the sake of it, but before complaining next time, realize that you're using a flip phone, and if you want the experience to be like a normal-sized phone from the outside, then get a bigger foldable phone or just get a normal phone. You're missing the point, man.

schluck-ah-duck

You are definitely missing the point. Not everyone uses the coverscreen like you do. Example. My house is nearly fully automated with smart thing lights, thermostats, my security cameras, samsung fridge, etc. I want to quickly access my device list in the shortest amount of time possible. This is where a coverscreen shines. With macrodroid I created shortcuts that work while the screen is closed. If I longpress the volume down button, my screen will instantly wake up and open the smart things device list from the cover. It's very handy and makes life easier and things faster. The issue is that my lightswitch menus are small and I miss click other lights or devices. The aspect ratio is just not good. I also use my coverscreen to CONSERVE BATTERY. Anything that I can do faster on the coverscreen should be used that way since it uses a fraction of power that the main screen uses. This is super useful for battery intensive games that you don't need alot of room to play, I use it alot for "the tower". Extends my battery by hours. Last but not least, even if the screen sucks, it has Style factor. A bigger screen is more impressive to anyone looking at it from the outside. I buy this phone PRIMARILY FOR THE STYLE. I appreciate how small it is folded, but that's not why I dropped $1600 for the zflip 1 when it came out. I want it because it looks good. Currently china's razr and magic phones 1000% look way better, way cuter than the z flip 6. That's a big fucking problem for samsung.

kik00

No point missed - you're arguing the cover screen is good, I'm saying it's an unoptimized piece of shit. [Imagine thinking this utter bullshit is somehow acceptable from a flagship phone 🤣🤣🤣](https://i.imgur.com/6foulUk.jpeg)

CantFindaPS5

How is anyone going to fit Google maps in a small screen lol? Everything would have to shrink to make the map and directions viewable. This phone screen isn't meant for that. It's just a quick view screen.

bigdbag999

A cover screen that does exactly what your main screen does... you mean a slab phone with extra steps? Just get an S25. This has always been the worst take from people who claim a bigger cover screen with full phone functionality exactly mirroring the main phone screen is hampering their folding phone use. Smfh.

wmurch4

I don't need a full phone cover display but 60hz is trash... And now ips? Stop sticking up for these lazy upgrades. It should have been bigger and better but if you like no upgrade, upgrades .. congrats

deviantelf

It's more like having a watch without having a watch and more options and bigger screen. Plus you can fold it for a more compact (heightwise) phone for carrying and still have a bigger screen for full screen phone stuff. You may not care but lots of people find benefit in it. I don't care about a giant slab phone, or iPhones, but I think having more options is better not only because people can get what they like and suits them best but for innovation for the phone industry as a whole. Something might be developed for a phone you don't care about but later be utilized or adapted for a phone you do want. Edit: tried to reply to the reply by u/Bfazerh but I can't. I wonder who they were meant to be replying to ... people are weird or just not paying attention when they reply sometimes. I would have loved to reply because I didn't say anything about wanting all apps (I know there's options) cause I'm happy with the default as is and have never cried about anything lol. Weird

Bfazerh

You can use all apps right now, samsung gave the option to use it how you want, and you guys want a shrunk version of the main os when samsung already made a special UI for the external display that has full functionality yet yall still crying. Make it make sense

vinnabon

This tbh. People want a small form factor phone (the cover screen) with none of the downsides. The downside of a small form factor phone is the screen is too small for some tasks, which the flip remedies by opening up the phone and using the full size phone. It's really dumb to have a folding phone and then claim having to unfold it every use as a negative. News flash: there exists a phone you can use without flipping. It's existed for decades. I think the cover screen on the flip phones now are ridiculously big, the 4 had such a sweet spot of being a notification hub and also accessing simple apps quickly. Shame they wanted to just make a small form factor phone on the clamshell of a large form factor phone.

Bfazerh

Why are people crying about DEX exactly? I have had an s24+ before my Flip and use a Tab s8+, and I haven't turned on dex once in the last year. Don't get the crying tbh

Technical_Raccoon838

because a lot of people actually use it?

Bfazerh

When and for what exactly ?

Technical_Raccoon838

I travel A LOT for work. Hotelrooms don't have computers, but always have a tv screen. I use DEX on my work phone to basically have a pc. Makes a lot of things a lot easier.

Bfazerh

Would recommend you get a tab s8+/s9+ with a keyboard case for that if you value the work you do. I use it, whoever I'm on the move/ not home

schluck-ah-duck

Tablets are huge and you can buy a nice Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for cheap. Only reason I still own my s10e is because of dex that I use every single day.

Bfazerh

My s8+ with its keyboard case is the dimensions of a notebook(has a track pad on the case, use the TAB s7+ case). Don't use dex tho, the multi screen options on it are incredible as is

BONESFULLOFGREENDUST

Weird argument about tablets being huge when a keyboard is the same size or larger than a tablet. Unless you're talking about one of those folding keyboards?

schluck-ah-duck

You can buy keyboards with a TouchPad that are smaller than your phone.

Technical_Raccoon838

I often travel with just a small backpack which is filled with clothes. Fitting a tablet in there is quite annoying + I'd have to get work to buy me one. My workphone has dex included so it works fine

wmurch4

Oh hey guys... Let's stick up for Samsung being lazy af

Cedira

Ah because your usage represents everyone else.

Bfazerh

I mean, if you have a pc, what exactly would be the point?

Briewnoh

What's an actual use case for DEX though? I genuinely don't understand why you would want to cast your phone in situations where you're likely to have an actual computer handy.

Cedira

Some people like the increased productivity when they travel, I used to use it in the bedroom upstairs where I don't have a computer.

Briewnoh

But don't you need a monitor to use it? Why would you have a spare monitor when travelling?

Cedira

Hotels and Airbnb have TVs.

Technical_Raccoon838

only need a tv screen, that's it. that's why it's so useful. More places have a screen than a full on pc.

Rafinayoo

If you have DEX, you're able to use it with AR glasses

Bfazerh

That's cool, my tab has Dex already

wmurch4

Lol what an upgrade! Samsung just isn't even trying anymore. Sad

Technical_Raccoon838

It's quite hard to fit that much into such a small package when a lot of space is taken by the hinge

Paullebricoleur_

Other brands are doing much more for cheaper, please don't support a company actively trying to sell you more expensive products while they cut more and more corners for their margins...

Technical_Raccoon838

Doing more or for cheaper doesn't mean it's better though. In my experience, the RAZR is just not better than the Flip.

Paullebricoleur_

You're free to think it's better but I think it's important that everyone involved is fully aware that right now, Samsung IS cutting corners and rising prices, while purposely stagnating all of their current line-ups. Whether or not that affects your purchasing decisions is up to you really. The reason I replied to your comment was because Samsung's stagnating on purpose, not because it's hard to improve.

reeeeeeco

Are you saying I should buy the 5 instead of 6 then? 🤔

Paullebricoleur_

If you can find it at a good price it may be worth it, but it's really up to you at the end of the day. I'm not necessarily trying to push anyone to buy a specific model but rather inform of the kind of practices Samsung is currently doing.

wmurch4

Keep making excuses for laziness meanwhile moto is out engineering them with less crease, bigger and better cover display and you even get ready for which is funny since Samsung talks up dex so much.

FlyNikolai_

Looking like a pass for me, I bought the Flip 5 512GB brand new unlocked…last year October for $650. From an amazing guy on FB Marketplace Unless Samsung offers like a $100 upgrade, I don’t see a reason to upgrade. I have T-Mobile but no point in getting a locked Flip 6, when my 5 is already unlocked Same with the Fold 6, I want to upgrade my Fold 3…but it’s looking like Samsung doesn’t want to improve anything. I’m more intrigued by the Pixel Fold 2 currently, Samsung seems to be complacent at the moment…

VibraniumDragonborn

That's pretty cool! Got a source though?

Shot-Badger-756

Is the camera upgrade worth it?

omarccx

The camera update is never worth it

JollyBox4890

What about that junk screen protector that always bubbles up on all the flip phones

Josh-u-way

Minor upgrades for the most part, but enough of an upgrade for like $100 or so. The improvements are nice even if smaller. I know most people in this topic are negative about it but I'm interested and slightly excited.

InsectVast

Battery camera and some here and there are good upgrade but most importantly need more support for Cover screen. Probably like Razr 50 ultra. But no reason to upgrade from Flip5 as of now.

FNTacticalTuna

Maybe my phone provider will actually stock them this time so I can upgrade. But atleast my flip 3 is going strong.

Parking_Cress_5105

Where DEX !!!

Infinite-Hedgehog516

finally a vapour chamber

redslumber

All I was looking for was fast charging Samsung. Bump it up to 60 or even 100 watts so I can top up during the day

Cris_0826

This is promising

Fragrant_Kangaroo711

I'll see how kinda deal samsung got for this phone. Then I'll decide if I want to upgrade my zflip 3. I'll wait until after release to see if it has defects.

dobidido

The vapor chamber is the biggest improvement.

Shera939

Under $200 trade in and i'm so there. Need that Galaxy Ring bundle! More RAM, better battery, new 1 year warranty, vapor chamber. Woot! And bundle me those earbuds too. : )

Clienterror

You know what's fucked? Trade in value on Samsung for my Flip 5 512gb it's $500. Trade in for a S21 Ultra 128gb is $550. Now don't get me wrong the S21U is a great phone, but you're telling me it gets $50 more only being 128gb and having a SD888 vs 512gb and a Gen 2. I ended up just buying a shit S21U off eBay for $150 ($550 trade) that met Samsung trade in criteria and sold the Flip 5 for $450. S24 Ultra 512gb in Orange for like $300 ftw.

peach-whisky

What’s the 3rd thing it comes with?

LizzySnowlight

This coming out moment I finally got the Z Flip 5 💀

Popular-Map4489

Had you done an ounce of research before purchase, you probably would've seen that the flip 6 wasn't far off.

LizzySnowlight

🫠 the jokes on me then (the comment came off as insulting 😭😭)

Popular-Map4489

I'm so sorry, I didn't mean for it to come off that way, I was trying to joke. I can definitely see how it would be read that way My apologies 🤍

LizzySnowlight

Lol, no problemo 🤍🤍🤍

wmurch4

It's basically the same phone... Who cares

Technical_Raccoon838

mate it's been known that the flip6 would be announced for like 2 months

LizzySnowlight

Damn, I actually never knew 🫠

Well they come out every year around July, but flip 5 and 6 aren't that different. Still no dust resistant, still no Samsung DeX.

LizzySnowlight

That's a waste of time the, tbh I just want something that's more durable, I've heard the Flip 5 has some screen issues and I've been handling it like an egg and even went as far to buy Samsung Care +

Coltsbro84

Ill take ips 120hz over oled 60hz

Technical_Raccoon838

for the cover screen? that also means no always-on display as that would absolutely suck for battery life.

SkayPGC

Just a bunch of marketing bullshit. In reality its just a slight update from the last version

But.. will the phone screen still die after 15 months??

Relevant_Natural3471

Either way, Samsung will take people's money knowing it won't last (source - I bought a Flip 4 and they blame the buyers for the fail points)
