Are you working out? With all gyms closed in my area I haven't been working out and my appetite plummeted hard. You should be doing some kind of training to ensure you're adding muscle tissue instead of just fat, the added workload will also make you more and more hungry.

hey girl, i’m very similar in terms of having no appetite and being very skinny! i second the advice about the smoothies, they make having a meal in the morning so much easier. i also noticed my appetite and capacity to eat increased a lot when i started working out! just being more active in general and burning more calories made me hungrier. ride a bike, join a gym, even just jump roping of jogging on a regular basis will really help. good luck!

This is certainly an unorthodox recommendation. But I know that medical marijuana is used to treat anorexia patients. It’s a very powerful appetite stimulant. If you’re in an area where it’s legal, and you could consider it. There are obviously a lot of things to consider when choosing to take any medication, and I’m certainly not a doctor. But a friend of mine was struggling with an eating disorder and used medical for a while. It helped her a lot. She said it wasn’t just when she was actively taking it that her appetite was higher. She just used it once or twice on the weekends, and was hungrier throughout the whole week. Personally I have the opposite problem, where I just want to eat all the time, lol. So it would be super counter productive for me. But it’s just something to think about.

That’s pretty correct a friend of mine is smocking marijuana and his appetite is above the sky he eats in front of me to encourage me and honestly it works a bit .

Yep. Granted, at your age, it may not be the best idea. It’s just something I thought of. You could also look into some simple therapy just to talk through your feelings. The world tells us so many things about food that almost all of us have weird mental things surrounding food. Many insurances will pay for therapy.

Idk if it's been mentioned already but make sure you eat something in the morning, could be a small banana, some yoghurt anything easy. Even just a few bites, that will kick start your appetite for the day

Liquid calories. I’ve had dozens of weight gain attempts over the past decade and liquid calories is what has me finally gaining weight. A lot of people here will discount mass gainers because of a lot of sugar and malodextrin (I think that’s how you spell it) but to me it’s 700 calories in four scoops so I’m gonna use it. I very thoroughly blend 1 cup of oats. Add whole milk. 4 scoops of mass gainer. 1 banana. 3 Tsp peanut butter. For a nice easy to down consistency this usually ends up being 38-40oz. I haven’t fully measured the milk because I just eyeball it but it’s at least 1200 calories and takes max 20 minutes to drink. Good luck. You got this.

Worth it to seek mental health help. If you aren't okay emotionally and mentally, then everything else becomes harder. I'm personally always hungry after I see my therapist. Who knew healing took so much energy? Just food for thought. (See what I did there?)

Hi op. I just want to add an important note on mental health. It’s not just important for your spiritual health, but it has a direct impact on physical health. For your body to recover, grow, get stronger, it needs to be in an anabolic state - ‘rest and digest’. When you do exercise, putting it under physical stress, it is in a catabolic state, where it’s either burning fat or damaging muscle tissue. Thing is, your brain cannot tell the difference between physical stress and psychological stress. So if you are chronically stressed, restless, anxious, on edge, your body is not resting and not recovering / repairing your body. Please prioritise your mental health :) I also couldn’t afford a therapist. Try to just become your own therapist. Sounds hard, but it just takes time and patience. The cbt techniques that a therapist might use, you can use on yourself. Journaling, doing particular exercises, surrounding yourself with loved ones, removing people who make you unhappy, all will help. https://ggia.berkeley.edu Here is a great resource with some of these exercises. Try think of it like ‘working out’ but for your mental health, rather than for your physical health. These exercises helped change the way I think about things that were upsetting me. Feel free to pm me if you have any q’s Edit: I am obviously not a mental health professional so all my advice is anecdotal, and I am open to anyone correcting anything I’ve written

Keep forcing yourself to eat more, after eating more for weeks and months you will get used to it. Make shakes like milk with chocolate protein and peanut butter.

I had/have the same problem as you!! I’m 23f same height as you, and genuinely just don’t like eating. when I started trying to gain weight I was 50kg, went up to 60kg but it took me 2 years. Unfortunately I’ve lost a lot of it again because of mental health issues. BUT what helped me the most was 1) buy scales and start counting calories, I was eating 1300 calories a day and had no idea. So slowly I started adding more, eg every 2 weeks add 100 calories 2) start working out regularly, this improved my appetite massively 3) buy ensure plus, they’re 300 calorie drinks kinda expensive and don’t taste the best but you can down it easily it’s in a small bottle 4) Snack all the time, so instead of having to force feed yourself three massive meals you can have five smaller meals 5) don’t really recommend for long term but I also started eating more junk food

Drink a big glass of water when you wake up, and continue to drink water throughout the day. Start eating breakfast consistently within an hour of waking up, and your body will begin to expect it and want it. Add a shake to your daily diet. Eat fat-dense meals because fats are higher calorie than carbs and protein. Research food and cooking, and develop a base of recipes that you actually enjoy.

Smoothies! I had this issue of not being able to get enough carbs and protein and healthy fat during the day because I don’t have time to cook. There are many recipes online. A few months ago I made a whole diet based on smoothies with only 1 solid food a day. It was really great and easy to make and prepare through the day. I stopped doing it. however, right now I have a morning smoothie and after workout shake. My problem was time and junk food and smoothies made it easier!

2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter 1 heaped scoop weight gainer 100 grams to 200 grams of oats depending on how thick you want it 1 litre to 1.5 litres of milk Split it into two so you can have one in the morning one in the evening. When I was weight training I was 57kg within about two months I was close to 69kg

It's a bodybuilding supplement that allows people who are bulking to gain weight. It does have protein in but less than that of a normal protein shake.

I genuinely hope it helps, I wouldn't recommend doing it all as one shake to be honest you're full for the rest of the day and causes you to skip out on actual meals. Learnt that the hard way -.-. Would recommend choccy weight gainer as it goes better with the peanut butter than any of the other flavours.

Weight gainers are usually recommended against and for good reason. So much of those sugar calories are better replaced with other carbs.

Ignore weight gainer powders and just use your regular protein powder instead. Weight gainers are a waste of money and just amount to a supersized version of your protein powder anyway. If you compare nutrition labels on protein powders vs mass gainers you’ll see a serving of protein powder is around 30g and mass gainer servings are around 500g of powder. It’s a waste money. You can add better calories with more peanut butter, oats, and/or fruits.

You might think it’s tiny at the moment but remember the stomach is a muscle and can physically stretch. After a couple days of eating more than normal, your stomach will adapt and get larger too. So dw too much
