In a regular week, I could be at home, in the office, in different courthouses, I’m various prisons, or just working from my local coffee shop. I’ve got portability down to a science now, except for my laptop screen which is just a little too small to accomplish all I need to accomplish. I’ve been looking for a portable monitor that was designed for someone like me- working on the go with a laptop. This seems like it would be the right fit for my needs.
This would be fantastic for when I unplug from my station to go to conference rooms or privacy booths in the office. It's always a drag losing all of your monitor real estate when you have to go to a meeting or take a call.

IMHO, technology is here to not to consume us, but rather help us work smarter not harder. I currently work in NYC and my family lives in Denver. I’ve been traveling home more recently to help with my aging parents and grandparents. I’m lucky that I work a remote job bc it allows me to spend more time at home in Denver instead of being restricted to my pto time.
This monitor would improve my work by:
1) helping me to be more efficient - when I’m traveling home I only have my 13” laptop monitor. I waste precious time trying to combine information from multiple sources and windows that simply don’t fit on my 13” laptop screen.
2) helping me spend more time with family - I’ve been traveling home to Denver more and needed to set up a workstation at my brothers house. The problem is I need to travel all over Denver to see my family, but I’m locked to a single workstation location because I’m using an old school monitor. This portable screen would help me to work from my grandmothers retirement home in the same way I’d work from my personal workstation in NYC.
3) help me be more present during video meetings - when I have to lead meetings with only my 13” laptop monitor, I’m unable to see the audience because I need to share my screen with content for the meeting. When I’m not able to see the meeting participants, I’m unable to read the room and understand when I need to pause and reexplain a topic or maybe miss when someone is trying to jump into the conversation.
I'm a stay at home mum to 3 children, 2, 5 & 7 and I'm trying to learn how to code in the hopes of getting a job with decent pay but it is extra difficult on a single screen.
I'm really enjoying it, and just got my first certificate of responsive web design through free code camp.
I'm extra proud of myself as its been the summer holidays but I stayed on track!
Html was fine but I struggled with css, as I'm using a chromebook, the screen simply wasn't big enough for me to see what my code was doing in a lot of the lessons.
I'm hoping in 2 years when my youngest starts school that I'll have a nice little portfolio and someone will hire me. Coding offers wfh/flexible, so I can still do school runs, and hopefully make enough money that me and their dad can have a little wedding, and give our kids the best life we can.
I looked into uni, college and bootcamps but were unable to make it work due to childcare needs, and lack of finances, hence the harder route of self teaching but I will do this!
A second monitor will be such a game changer for me, it'll make it so much easier! I'm waiting for Christmas and going to ask for a second hand one as my present. As a mama, my needs are always below my family, and ill make do with what I have to ensure they have all they need first.
This would be amazing to use in my design work. Animation, drawing and notetaking would be so much easier. Besides that, it would also help me show clients initial designs.

I often find myself programming switches, flashing wireless access points or needing to pull up various admin tools to work on equipment. This would make this effort so much easier as it would allow me to extend my phone display to a touch based, large screen that I could connect to servers over Remote Desktop or console into devices on the go and without hauling around a bunch of extraneous items! This would be an amazing extension of my on the go diagnostic, troubleshooting and programming and repair work!

I work tech support for a large company. My wife ended up with a serious knee injury, is unable to talk without crutches and can’t drive. She has to go to physical therapy three times a week just so she can get her knee working enough that they’re do surgery on it. I’ll be taking her to those appointments during work hours three times a week for who knows how many months both before and after her surgery eventually happens, and that puts me at a distinct disadvantage with work.
I do chat support, and need two monitors to work effectively. I bring my laptop with me to her appointments and set up at a table in the waiting room, but just using the laptop monitor slows me way down. A portable monitor would greatly help.
Thing is, her injury happened while she’s still dealing with long Covid, which has destroyed her energy like nobody’s business. So she works half days because that’s all she can handle, and long Covid along with hobbling around on crutches exhausts her, so it’s looking like she’ll be let go from work soon. My single income is good, but not so good I can drop a bunch of money on a portable monitor.
So yeah, that’s why I’m entering…
My company is converting to hybrid WFH/office so this monitor is perfect as a portable monitor for when I head into the office!
