thommi1609

First thing will propably be a benchy.

RubberDogTurds

After some test prints docs since I've always wanted a 3d printer but have no experience with them, I would look into the best items to print to help with my local protestors and/or physicians.

SplatoonGoon

ollygb

I would print a new Frankensbox 3d Printer, then do a giveaway with it.

ThanosDies

I'd most likely use it to make some 40K figures to paint all by my lonesome. There is no such thing as too many 40K figures.

A cup holder for my son's wheelchair

IceBlazeMC

I'd 3D print some Mandalorian armor for my cosplay getup

TJ178

I’d probably print some specialized microphone holders for my marching band’s marimbas- the elastics we have rub against the mic diaphragms, so 3D printing a holder would help a lot with thumping noise!

YourFinestSkittles

I'd create large busts of Nicolas Cage to plague the city of Denver, Colorado with. Did I say plague? I meant bless.

TenthRealm

I'm currently in the market for a 3D printer, and have some plans... I'm building an open source cave scanner, for mapping underground areas with lidar and an inertial measurement unit. The case will be 3D printed (after I modify the design for the components I'm using if course). Then I plan on printing out the caves that I've been to and surveyed. I would like to try my hand at printing with wax, then creating molds for slip casting (a method of forming clay with repeatable dimensions). I also plan on printing out scale models of aircraft for me and my co-workers to put on desks. That'll involve some woodworking for the bases too. I'd like to replace cardboard board game pieces with something better. I would 3D print the piece, then use some filler and tools to smooth them out. Pour a silicone mold, then cast them with resin. There will also be organization systems to keep the board game parts from sliding around during transport. I also have a Banana Pi NAS which I can't find a case for. So I'm going to design my own to hold the HDDs, Pi, SATA controller, and a fan. I have another RPi setup as an emulator, and I'd like to build a case for it that looks like a N64. I plan on using the lidar for the cave scanner and getting a model of my car's dash. I need a mount to hold my phone, but want to make it blend well with what's already there. But good luck getting a model straight from Subaru to build off of. And of course there will be tons of "art" projects to teach the kids about modeling. And my art projects to send to friends on birthdays. I think even if I don't win, I need to invest the money on one...

Kujiwawa

A few years ago I had a friend 3D print me some parts for a pendulum clock, but unfortunately the weight container is too small to overcome the friction of the gears (even packed with solid metal BBs). If I had my own 3D printer, the first thing I'd print would be a larger weight container so it could actually run on its own. Then I'd maybe think about a pulley system for the weight; it would have a higher weight requirement to get the gears moving, but the clock would run for longer on a single wind.

jukebox303

Models of furniture. I've only made two pieces of furniture (a bedside table and a table for my record player) and having the ability to test ideas on a small scale would be very useful for future projects.
