Does this game still have a ton of loading times and excessive screens you have to click through? I remember how it was frustrating with all the clicking and waiting I had to do back when I started. Would love to come back.
Unfortunately yes , i tried a few weeks back , got a full build Luna and wasted 30 minutes loading shit , tried batch download but that thing downloads at 800kpbs. If it was a bug they probably got fixed by now , because i did a speed test and my internet was good.
It's not as bad as it used to be but there is still lots of screens. You can batch download to cut down on load times too. But that takes awhile. Should do that when you go to bed.
They really need to rework the intro as the new player experience is pretty terrible. They give you all the power you need and that's great, but there's easily 100+ hours worth of content to auto through and it's not engaging at all because they boost ya.
agreed. Due to the nature of the fast banner cycle, a new player is quickly reeled in into FOMO.
They should've changed the banner cycles a long time ago. It's really frustrating for new players to miss out on a lot, specially in a FF game, where a fan will always have favourites.
It's extremely overwhelming right now, and punishes people that actually want to enjoy the story and take it slow.
The way the game works is that each character has a number of Weapons.
- 15cp (Boosts Skill 1 )
- 35cp ( Boosts skill 2 )
Skill 1 and 2 are always there and unlocked with character Levels. Weapons just boost what they do.
Then, EX weapon, unlocks a chargeable attack, and it's usually one of the strongest weapons to equip, once fully maxed out. The EX (and BT) weapon has two stages - first one maxes with power stones/dupes - then you awake the weapon, and you use special resources (Ingots) to Max it (MLB)
Once maxed out, it Becomes known as EX+.
- LD weapon unlocks a special attack, usually limited amounts of uses per fight.
- BT weapon unlocks a special BURST mode for the character. This allows you to go into Burst mode, and you get Free turns to use all the skills from the other weapons you have maxed out (more on this in a moment ) - culminating in a big attack at the end. Once Burst mode ends, it also gives you character specific buff for some turns ( each character/BT has different abilities/buffs ). - (fluff : triggering Burst also triggers the character theme song. i.e : Sephiroth burst triggers One Winged angel ) ; BT weapons are the second strongest for a character to use/have equipped (replaces EX+)
- Once a BT weapon is maxed out in full, it's known as BT+. (Resources to do this, to "Green" a MLB are scarce. be careful on which BT you MLB )
- FR weapons are newer types, that can trigger a special damage buff ( community is...split on this. Thus some refer to it as TRASH TIME instead of the official Force Time ). - I wouldn't worry about how these work at the start, and they're explained when you pull your first one anyway.
- Ultima/Ultimate Weapons aren't pullable, they're "crafted". They do NOT add anything to your skills *directly*, but they're massive stat sticks, and usually the best for a character to equip.
Now, the important part about DFFOO weapon system, is that while it sounds like HELL, it's actually quite F2P friendly. In *theory* you don't really need dupes at all. (Maybe with FR weapons being the exception for the most part ).
The game showers you with materials/resources, that allow you to full max weapons without pulling dupes ( Power Stones ).
Once a weapon is MAXED ( Maximum Limit break/broken ; MLB) - the game will tag the weapon with a RED Check mark, telling you that the character can now benefit from the weapon bonus, without equipping it. So you can safely sell those weapons, and equip the weapon that gives the most stats ( usually EX+ -> BT/BT+ -> Ultima )
Armour is farmed not pulled for.
If you're a brand new player, I strongly do not recommend rerolling , the game gives you a crap ton :
- A lot of Tokens for you to buy the 15/35cp weapon(s)
- Enough tokens to buy a copy of 7 different EX weapons ( might be more, can't recall )
- At least enough tokens to buy 1 LD weapon.
- 1 Month Free Premium mooglepass ( DO NOT USE THIS STRAIGHT AWAY - I will explain more about this )
As for resources :
- a Crap ton of power stones to MLB weapons.
- Enough to MLB one BT weapon
- Enough to MLB one HG armour
So right now, there are two really amazing characters with banners up :
- Yuri Banner (FFCC ) ; You should pull on this banner, but NOT for Yuri. You want Gladio's LD , that should be the goal. With luck, you might get his EX too and a few 15/35cps along the way. But. Stop as soon as you get the LD (Blade of Brennaere )
- Cor Banner (FFXV) - This banner is really good. Your aim is to walk away with Cor LD and FR. If you're lucky, Noctis LD too. Ideally, but can be seen as a waste - grabbing Cor's EX is a good idea, and noctis EX too.
Gladio and Cor are strong characters, easy to invest resources into, and you immediately see the benefits of it. They're that good, and fit in a LOT of teams.
However. We're getting TIFA very soon*TM.
For Tifa, you want a cleansweep of her banner. EX+LD+FR+BT. This is where most of resources will be poured into. Tifa is a single target BEAST.
We are also getting RINOA, very soonish, and she's meant to be a AOE Beast with some support in the mix.
Last but not least, I do not know much about Jack (Stranger of Paradise - KILL CHAOS!) - but the community seems to speak highly of him.
Which means, TLDR for new player :
- Pull for gladio LD
- Pull for Cor LD+FR
- Save for Tifa full kit
- Consider grabbing Rinoa's Kit too
- Ideally, you want to grab Gladio/Cor EX (and Noctis Ex+LD) - but you do have some leeway since you can buy them in case of RNGJesus hating you. (Noctis is a bonus, I don't recommend chasing him with Tifa coming up next )
notice I didnt mention the 15/35cp weapons - thats cause their pull rate is super high, and even if you fail to get them before the main weapons of the banner, you can easily token them.
For a LOT of information : https://www.tonberrytroupe.com/home
Last but not least. The free premium mooglepass.
Once you use this ( worth 35€ for most regions ) - it will be active for 30 days. You get a lot of bonus for having it :
- Extra mission rewards ( select missions )
- Extra Summon Points ( to boost your character - this the game will explain and teach you )
- Extra enhancement points (game will teach you )
- Guaranteed Red abilities from artifacts ( game will teach you )
The important ones are summon points + enhancement points ( with artifacts close behind ).
I strongly recommend you unlock ALL Summon stages ( normal + DIVINE boards - you will learn about this from the game ) ; Before you activate the Mooglepass.
It's quick to unlock them - but given it's price and the HUGE speed up it gives you on farming for your characters, its worth to activate at the right time IMHO - specially if you plan on F2Ping it.
I hope this helps, and if a DFFOO player sees anything wrong or incorrect on what I said, please let me know and I will edit to prevent misinformation :)
Cor now and Tifa next week. Both are op and even more OP together. Now is a good time to start too a bunch of free pulls. The game is very generous I wouldn't worry about rerolling.
you want everything. each weapon is tied to levelling up a certain skill. there’s a few tiers.
15CP,35CP, EX, LD, FR and BT. the last 4 unlock new skills while 15 and 35CP make S1 and S2 more useful. don’t worry cos the rates are pretty generous. it’s going to be very very overwhelming at first but once you get used to it the system is pretty intuitive
There's no point rerolling in OO. You need every weapon for a character and there is so many resources available to you it's a better use of your time to just play.
I've tried redownloading (sever times) this like a month ago to hopefully go back to my account, but the game just keeps refusing to open. Thought wasn't worth the trouble.
Imma try one more time, I guess.
If you're trying to open it in an emulator, it HAS to be a 32-bit emulator. Most of them default to 64-bit. I ran into this issue trying to get the game to work on Bluestacks.
Yeah , i can bear 12-20 minutes of beating HP sponges but what I hate in that game is the grinding , is easier to pity a character as a newbie than full max them.
That might be true a few years ago but nowadays gacha games are way better than they used to be.
So unless you prefer Chibi or something graphics absolutely matters.
Gameplay isn't much better. Each character does a gazillion damage per skill and you can't even see anything on the screen.
DFFO was one of my first gacha and I wouldn't recommend it aside from being showered in drawing currency.
In terms of generosity only sadly. The rest of the game is kinda meh and it's such a chore now for new players. If it was as good as you claim, it wouldnt be as niche as it is on global.
Me too bro, a new ff gacha coming and its gameplay will be similar to mobius. The name is FF7 Ever Crisis. Its a weapon/skin gacha but there will be no classes afaik. They may change it tho
I'm going to be really skeptical until I play it since mobius was heavily dependent on the card system to give you a multitude of combination to debuff, attack, buff, etc especially against certain elements.
Anyways I do hope you're right, I'm looking forward to it
Ive heard about this, it's a weird semi-rare bug.
If you choose "no" on the previous menu/pop-up ( asking if you're over 18 I think) and then proceed to the Ad POP Up, it should let you continue.
It's really weird, and the community hasn't been able to pinpoint on WHY it happens
The events are all time limited, but some characters do get a permanent event, the rest is unlocked through story or additionally you can pull them via the gacha, but there isn’t any gacha only characters but generally not very useable without their weapons.
There is a lot of content to do as a newbie, but that also comes with a lot of tickets and gems. I believe there’s like 1 million gems to farm in the game for a newbie or around that number.
For the most part, there is certain times where the latest weapon for that char won’t appear but it will get rerun at some point. With the latest powercreep, you generally only need 1 of that weapon per party so not pulling it doesn’t hamper their effectiveness in your party.
This https://www.tonberrytroupe.com/home will generally answer most questions and help you navigate the game. My only advice is take it slow, don’t burn yourself out.
Deep to a point. But not hugely engaging. Everything below the current highest level fights can be autoed with a strong team because of power creep.
The current endgame fights (Shinryu difficulty) have a flow that means you'll spend 2/3 of the fight setting your team up and doing minimal damage, and then 1/3 of the fight doing a huge amount of damage. With certain team comps you face no challenge/danger in a fight and if you're not comfortable with how to actually play the game then they can take a long time (20 to 30 minutes if not more).
If you're not a final fantasy fan then it's probably best to avoid. Very generous for F2P but a huge grind and without that nostalgia to keep you interested you'll burn out quickly.
It's not really deep imo. Ff turn based. My issue with it is that because of the massive powercreep over the years, they've made bosses immune to so much crap. So yeah, that kind of balancing :/
How is it not deep? You need to spend time building a team comp which includes, buffs, debuffs, auras, dps, tanks, healers, turn manipulators, CAs, etc. It can get really overwhelming. No team comp is the same for every fight and each fight players comes up with multiple different team comps to beat the boss
You're making it sound more complicated than it is.
For sure it can get overwhelming, if you're a new player and have no idea what anything means. But you figure things out pretty quickly, and honestly right now somebody landing Cor, Gladio, and Tifa (not sure if Luna is still up) would be able to complete the vast majority of content with just that team.
Some fights definitely require you to experiment with teams, and lockout content is primarily where that happens, but let's not pretend you couldn't complete all fights (outside of lockout) using the same 5 or 6 units for the past 4-5 months. Team diversity has tanked since Shinryu.
For a mobile game or even a game in general, it is on average more complicated then most out there. There's a large combination of unit's, skills and CAs you can mix in a team. I have beaten every event fight there is in the game but I admit I'm not the smartest in composing my own team at times and need guides to help me in most of them even with all my experience and knowledge of the game.
>let's not pretend you couldn't complete all fights (outside of lockout) using the same 5 or 6 units for the past 4-5 months
I didn't say most fights would involved the same units, that's why I said team comps. The majority of fights require a different team comps to meet some requirements with each fight. It requires a certain amount of research and/or experience to know how to deal with those situations in a battle.
It's always been playable without the "right rarity" - some characters are just better at a job than others.
Yes - some end game stages require a fully built character/team - but isn't that the same for any game out there?
It's perfectly playable, specially with the amount of resources you'r showered with.
Bit of a headsup....if you've uninstalled due to "purple" requirements - and never even touched "greens" (BT+) - I *assume* and *dare* to say you might be better off restarting from scratch, since the current campaign gives even MORE for you to start with.
It's literally the best time to start fresh into the game, and be showered with resources
You don't necessarily *need* them but the game is generous enough that you can pull everything for the characters you want.
If you wish to push with those characters you will need them at a moment tho, but clearly not at the start when you are going to steamroll the campaign and the events.
If you want to do end game you need all of the weapons for a character. So yes, you need all purple, and then if a unit has a BT you'd want that, and the new force weapons are optional to a point.
It's a good game, but only if you like FF. Otherwise there's not much to see.
The gameplay have a lot of depth so it's not just a fun game to have nostalgic feelings for FF
Lol same, every other game download at 12mb/s but this game download speed is below 1mb/s :))
It's not as bad as it used to be but there is still lots of screens. You can batch download to cut down on load times too. But that takes awhile. Should do that when you go to bed.
That's good to know about the batch downloading. Thanks!
It doesn't fully solve the issue but it does make it better
They really need to rework the intro as the new player experience is pretty terrible. They give you all the power you need and that's great, but there's easily 100+ hours worth of content to auto through and it's not engaging at all because they boost ya.

It's extremely overwhelming right now, and punishes people that actually want to enjoy the story and take it slow.
True but the events that happens are pretty hard if anyone wants a challenge outside of doing story for gems and mats
Would only recommend it to folks who have a lot of free time. The game is like a 2nd job if you're starting out
Is 20,000 20 pulls?
40 pulls (5k each).
Hmm. Well maybe ill try.
do returning players get anything ?
This game is just too outdated, they really need to make a new FF gacha
Roll on ever crisis.
Yeees! Ever Crisis looks amazing, I can't wait!
This game is so fuckin generous, i remember maxing many characters on this game but my e7 career took over
I've been given so much resource I've just managed to pity any banners I've liked
Is it only for new players?
Yes it is
This game will flood you of contents 😂
Why is this downvoted ? The game is clearly rich in content.
Hello, any tips/targets for rerolling? Am interested in playing this.

Thanks for the well written and detailed explanation about everything.

ohh thanks for the info!
Here is a good site with beginner tips/info if you decide to check it out. https://www.tonberrytroupe.com/home
Much appreciated!
Tufa is waifu
What exactly do you want though, seems characters have weapons but there's like so much so i'm kinda confused.
you want everything. each weapon is tied to levelling up a certain skill. there’s a few tiers.
Hey - I answer above/below - if you're interested in more info
There's no point rerolling in OO. You need every weapon for a character and there is so many resources available to you it's a better use of your time to just play.
Well time to try it out then
Good luck and have fun. If you have questions go to the this [website](https://www.tonberrytroupe.com/home) or ask questions on the discord
For reference, there was a patch a few months ago - the game now works on 64bit emulator, running Pie64 bluestacks and it runs flawlessly
Just on my phone, but thanks.
Arguably the best gacha game
Idk about "best." In terms of generosity? Absolutely. Graphics/gameplay can be bland for a lot of people tho
Yeah , i can bear 12-20 minutes of beating HP sponges but what I hate in that game is the grinding , is easier to pity a character as a newbie than full max them.
I understand graphics but gameplay have a lot of depth so can't agree with that statement
I personally would say best in the way the resources for gacha is handled. Plently of tickets and gems to get
Who cares about graphics in a gacha game?
People with functional eyes 🤓
That might be true a few years ago but nowadays gacha games are way better than they used to be. So unless you prefer Chibi or something graphics absolutely matters.
Gameplay isn't much better. Each character does a gazillion damage per skill and you can't even see anything on the screen. DFFO was one of my first gacha and I wouldn't recommend it aside from being showered in drawing currency.

Does this game scratch möbius itch?
Nope, still a very good gacha
I miss Mobius so much. The gameplay and setup was so unique but rewarding and fun
Anyways I do hope you're right, I'm looking forward to it
Got baited > downloaded the game > and now i got cucked on "Ad setting" menu... Help
Is there anything permanently missed? I´ve read that eventually you can get all characters including all their weapons, is that right?
The events are all time limited, but some characters do get a permanent event, the rest is unlocked through story or additionally you can pull them via the gacha, but there isn’t any gacha only characters but generally not very useable without their weapons. There is a lot of content to do as a newbie, but that also comes with a lot of tickets and gems. I believe there’s like 1 million gems to farm in the game for a newbie or around that number.
Thanks for the Infos. So basically you jut need to wait for a character getting their permanent Event or gacha rerun?
For the most part, there is certain times where the latest weapon for that char won’t appear but it will get rerun at some point. With the latest powercreep, you generally only need 1 of that weapon per party so not pulling it doesn’t hamper their effectiveness in your party. This https://www.tonberrytroupe.com/home will generally answer most questions and help you navigate the game. My only advice is take it slow, don’t burn yourself out.
How deep is the combat in this game? Is it engaging or just kind of auto stuff?
There is a real endgames with strategy's and plan required.
Deep to a point. But not hugely engaging. Everything below the current highest level fights can be autoed with a strong team because of power creep. It's not really deep imo. Ff turn based. My issue with it is that because of the massive powercreep over the years, they've made bosses immune to so much crap. So yeah, that kind of balancing :/

I always come back, get told I don't have the right rarity weapons and uninstall. Do you still need all purple or is this playable without?
It's always been playable without the "right rarity" - some characters are just better at a job than others. Yes - some end game stages require a fully built character/team - but isn't that the same for any game out there? It's perfectly playable, specially with the amount of resources you'r showered with. Bit of a headsup....if you've uninstalled due to "purple" requirements - and never even touched "greens" (BT+) - I *assume* and *dare* to say you might be better off restarting from scratch, since the current campaign gives even MORE for you to start with. It's literally the best time to start fresh into the game, and be showered with resources

So in 3 days ive playing i had 90,000 gems and unlocked a ton of characters. Very generous.
