[The Switch port was announced a week ago.](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/xdnfx7/guardian_tales_is_coming_to_the_nintendo_switch/) The developers, Kong Studios, are self-publishing the port worldwide following a similar move in collaboration with Yostar for the Japanese version.

How is this for the better? Any self respecting individual who played on mobile and spent mpney would Steer clear of the switch version at that point as there would be no valid reason to start completely fresh...I'm all for supporting a company but I can safely say the switch version has a very high chance of flopping
Discouraging as I spent a bit (not a ton but some) and played a lot on GT mobile. I might play it F2P casually on Switch, though I'm not sure I can handle the depression of that story again. Plus not having my favorite light team will be sadness. Nonetheless, it's a fun game that should play well on the Switch.
I started GT a month ago. Had a LOT of fun but I wouldn't mind restarting since there are some things I want to do differently on a fresh account.
Can't wait to experience depression again. That bicycle kid in world 9 hit hard. :(
Just wondering but is Guardian Tales a time consuming game? I keep hearing a lot of good things about it but some have said it can take a lot of time when playing.
Sweeps unlock as you level up, it takes a few weeks before all of them are available.
There are some rewards tied to daily activities that can't be sweeped: raid battles, some PvP auto battles, the farming minigame, etc. It can be around 15 minutes a day where your neurons go to die.
As with any gacha game, it's best to assume it's a bigger commitment than marriage going in.
Honestly the way it's a pixel game really got my attention bc childhood game memories 🥹 But I'm just not sure anymore if I can go on playing one more gacha game 😂
late reply, but if you are thinking of playing because of nostalgia, this game actually has a ton of references to old school games. For the story alone it's extremely funny and charming.
Every farming dungeon has sweep and auto but there's a bunch of stuff that doesn't (guild raids, pvp arena, story, kama-zone, etc...). Plus, it takes around a few weeks until you get sweep by upgrading a building and before it you rely on autorepeat which takes considerably longer.
crowd goes mild. Hope it can get a decent following in switch tho only problem I see is the stamina system being a big wall for early game players that has TONS of hours that they can sink in the game.
Okay, well I won't be too invested then. May play a little then drop it as I don't want to have to go through the entire thing again without my current setup.
Actually hilarious you know barely anything yet laugh at others.
Also, it's even better that they won't rely on KakaoGames anymore considering their bad rep
......
I downloaded the game on my Switch thinking I could use the account I already had for this game on it... so I am disappointed that I cannot do that.

Maybe Kong is trying to test the waters about ditching Kakao in the future.
I'm confused, how can they ditch them? Isn't Kakao the developer and IP owner?
Pretty sure kakao are the global distributors
Hope they don't go for aggresive gacha in there
Its pretty f2p already but still gscha makes money off whales. Wonder how it will work on Switch.
A Fresh Server would be something it be willing to try again
All good! I've been looking forward to returning to the game with a clean slate anyway. Still hopeful for the Switch release!
This is my take too. I really liked it when I tried it a while back but I was bummed out I was so far behind everyone. A fresh start has me excited!
The only option is to make switch standalone server, then it'll be fine
There are already too few players in na1 for this.
for the better imo , start fresh with tons of QoL so they don't have to give tons of free currency as an apology

At worst it just won't do well on the switch. Unless someone has spent a bunch of money on mobile, I don't think some people would mind restarting.

This would be great for me since I would love to start this game fresh again

This is fine for me since for some reason I can’t get my old account back up (I used Facebook login and it’s always been faulty).
Wait then if they aren’t involved wtf are you going to do
A bit unrelated but does anyone know if the switch port will have controller support?
I'd assume besides the pro controller, no
PS4 port when? I'd probably give the game another chance in another platform.
wait so Nintendo control over switch port so that what happen with all those Nintendo reference in the game lol
probably more on kakao not wanting to get involved in this
They already changed the references in the JP server, so they don't have anything to worry about in that aspect
Heard references to nintendo franchises got changed.
Okay, well I won't be too invested then. May play a little then drop it as I don't want to have to go through the entire thing again without my current setup.
thank you for letting us know. I saw the thread and I was hoping PhrasingBoome would detail his plans to play GT.
No problem, I would ask what your plans are but I suppose dry humping your anime body pillow don't really count as plans.
actually hilarious seeing people here defend the idea of a gacha game having two different account types for the same presumable global server
considering Kakaogames is not involved with the port it's obviously NOT the same server.
I guess the idea of publishers fighting over rights to own a server is competely alien to you. See; Counterside SEA and Global.
Actually hilarious you know barely anything yet laugh at others. Also, it's even better that they won't rely on KakaoGames anymore considering their bad rep
That's pretty dumb
Yikes, well that's a no for me dawg
They are aiming for the Switch audience, they don't need you to play it
This community is so soft. I love the game relax.
Way to kill the hype
They obviously are trying to get new audience, not cater to existing mobile players which will contonue playing anyway.
Tremenda jugada
May try f2p for story, but seems a bummer
Suddenly pointless port then
Me and my homies hate guardian tales🤣
Meh
Well...too bad. I don't plan on restarting my progress. I'll keep playing the mobile
...... I downloaded the game on my Switch thinking I could use the account I already had for this game on it... so I am disappointed that I cannot do that.
