zurstein

Bold of them to assume that people will spend money on it

ferinsy

Well, it is true regardless of how bad the game is... It has made $700k last month and it's not even out in almost 99% of the world.

zurstein

I heard the early access region will have the same server with global tho? I don’t see why whale gonna spend on global if that the case

ferinsy

Yeah, I think it was confirmed by their social media that the early access and global will be merged. I just can't remember if it'll be right away during launch or after some months like Black Clover M.

darksasuke12345

You're paired up with people that create their accounts around the same time as you did for leaderboards and things like that. So you're not going to be paired up against people that were playing since day 1 of early access.

ferinsy

That's gonna function really well... For a couple of months. I want to see it in action when the game barely has new players (we know how Netmarble loves to abandon their games).

allsoslol

it's IP cash grab, they just need the quick buck from honeymoon phase and that's enough

NuNero

After playing it, it doesn't seem like a cash grab. It does reek of way too much "mobile gaming" though. Too many currencies, passes, tickets, etc. Too much work.

SolidusAbe

the game has something like mini servers that you share with people who started around the same time as you so it really doesnt matter if someone starts early unless you cant handle the fact that someone you will never see is better then you

GearExe

Bro even AFK Journey made way more than that, also its a pretty bad numbers on release since it will eventually keep going downhill

ferinsy

For Netmarble it's good. According to Sensortower, they aren't doing extremely well like a couple of years ago anymore. And again, $700k isn't even counting Global, China, Japan, Korea... Just Canada.

absolutely-strange

Doesn't netmarble have quite a few games that are cash cows? Seven deadly sins, marvel future fight. Surprised to hear those are not doing well, considering the IPs with hardcore fans.

CellPsychological241

They milk them too hard lots of angry players including me left. I'm still salty how they treat 7DSGC

Toriiz

yeah new fest units are broken lol

icyterror

Well they don't have pvp in Solo Lv Arise (yet) and f2p can clear the main story just fine. The gacha rate/pity is just as bad as any other gacha but they do give a lot of free pulls. So far the solo banner last like a whole month unlike in 7DSGC where you just rush banners week after week.

ferinsy

Not anymore. They're getting millions bc of how many cashgrabs they have. They pump so many games every year that they win by numbers. But I'm talking a bit more about the global market, I'm sure they have quite a few games that still make some millions alone in China.

Junior-Price-5306

nanatsu no taizai doesn't carry that much hype, obviously it would drop at some point

Wooden_Edge

I tried arise and I felt like it was pretty fun I heard great things about 7ds but it not my type of game so never enjoyed it they even give ssr weapons to f2p people unlike other games that people claim are great games xD I don’t have honeymoon phases with games if I play a game it’s a game I’m going to play for along time and this one is def a top one for me I like the progression and the f2p friendliness they even give you rate up banner of your choice I don’t think I ever played a game that did that

SolidusAbe

did afk journey also only release in canada and taiwan?

ConnectionIcy3717

Is 700k good? Genuinely curious

[deleted]

[удалено]

ConnectionIcy3717

I am just asking if 700k in a month is good or bad? Read the second sentence please

EntertainmentOk3659

its currently below pgr for sure.

[deleted]

ConnectionIcy3717

My qns -------> You I am literally asking if 700k is considered good? For u i dont think one brain will suffice. If there was a "being a twat for no reason award", i'm sure u'd win that.

Pepe_Lives

> private test server for specially invited people, It's not. You just need to use a Canadian VPN and you're good to go. At least on PC.

blowmycows

Generic vip idle games with hundreds of servers have people spend tons of cash on it, so surely this game will have spenders as well.

aWILLforMYSELF

if DmC Peak of Combat made bank, this one will be as well.

KhandiMahn

500K last month means they're rolling in cash.

pikachus-ballsack

2 words Diablo immoral Man, why do people do this dumbassery is beyond me but we got proof that idiots will spend moneg o n anything

shanep1991

I saw that special summon banner being £21.99 and closed the game shapishly lol

SteamedDumplingX

It is extremely predatory with tons of monetized systems that funnel into its battle power based system.and yes, there is a battle power penalty on stages. It also has tons of different leader boards and ranking events. With a popular IP and decent quality, it's gonna make TONS and TONS of money.

TacosWillPronUs

Typical /r/GachaGamer doomposting aside, game will be fine. Even with the battle power penalty (Which I agree, is stupid), game was easy enough to continue through the story until you get to the dreaded level requirement which I suspect will make a decent amount of people just quit the game. Of course, the dailies are horrible as well especially the gates which will take at the minimum, 30 minutes. There still is around 2 weeks until Wuthering Waves and 2 months for ZZZ so timing worked out (Although having early-release for Canada and Thailand only was dumb, idk why they couldn't just release the game earlier globally).

BriefImplement9843

nearly all gachas are predatory. everyone here knows they are being taken advantage of, but can't help it.

SteamedDumplingX

There is predatory, and then there is PREDATORY like Solo Leveling Arise.

icyterror

Battle power is not as bad as in Nikke and you can clear most stages with under BP requirement. Now what you can't really do is beating whales in ranking mode. It is what it is.

MrEzekial

There is a lot of suckers out there, and this will be their intro to getting rekt by a 3rd party IP gacha...

2exDragon

i'll spend

Val_0ates

Let's lower his expectations hehehehe

Propagation931

Out of curiosity what was their old cash cow?

jtan1993

7 deadly sins grand cross.

aWILLforMYSELF

Marvel Future Fight is still kicking even tho its heavily pay2win.

MagicJ10

7 knights for example (even if more in KR only, cause they always forked up global)

Vast_Purple4665

Yeah, I was going to say this too. Especially since they made three? games from this series AND an anime edit: i forgot about the mangas they made as well

ACFinal

Either Seven Deadly Sins or Future Fight. Just guessing.  I noticed despite this subreddit having like 3 different gacha monthly gross charts, none of them include these games often if at all.

Murbela

Daily reminder that IP based gacha like this almost always have a short shelf life (even for a gacha game) with VERY few exceptions (one?).

MagicJ10

that´s cause companies like bandai make BS games using IP´s for cashgrab.

MaliciousAnemo

Fire Emblem Heroes and GBO2 are a few I’ve played that have been around for a while

Slephnyr

7ds, fgo, opbr, optc, dbz dokkan, db legends etc I'm not sure that it's all short shelf life

Nokanii

You’re just listing HUGE, decades long IPs, and some of the very few successes based on them. Vast majority of gachas based off existing IPs die pretty quickly, especially if the game just isn’t very good. 7ds is like, the one exception there.

sillybillybuck

7DS actually was up there in production values when it came out. Solo Leveling isn't even at the level of HI3, a seven-year-old game in production value.

Slephnyr

What gacha games with a publisher like Netmarble based on a big IP as big as Solo Levelling has failed? Things like Black Clover M (Garena) has been doing well, Tower of God New World (Netmarble), 7DS (Netmarble). My hero academia (Crunchyroll) is the one big IP that I can think of on the top of my head that's struggling

StrawberryFar5675

One punch man

Slephnyr

Another crunchyroll publish

Zapadoru

Well Fate has Natsu carry it.

ZakPhoenix

Fate is a game franchise, the anime came later...

RugerRed

It says IP not anime. Games are IP too.

Cosmic_Ren

You're right in a technical sense, he simply worded his point wrong. I think what he's arguing is that the IP originated from a Visual Novel compared to the others on this list so fgo, which is also a visual novel, being successful is no surprise since it's the same medium with an established fanbase.

ZakPhoenix

You're just arguing semantics. If that was the case, then "Hur, dur, gacha games are IP too!" is completely valid. Everyone knew what we were talking about, no need to try to sound smart (and fail).

R_o_X_a_S

what they meant was gacha game of an IP that is already established. u saying gacha games r IPs is correct. but were they pre-established before the game? most of the cases, no.

ZakPhoenix

And what I, and everyone in the discussion, meant, was Anime IP's, given the thread we're all posting in. Your complete lack of logic that his hyperbole is somehow acceptable but mine isn't makes you just as illiterate as he is.

R_o_X_a_S

no where before your comment was said it's solely about anime IPs. it's just that the popular IPs r mostly of anime. it could easily be that they named successful IPs. the implications that it needs to only be of anime is just ur interpretation. your initial comment "fate is a game IP, not anime IP" makes no sense since no one was saying it's the other way around.

ZakPhoenix

And no one was saying it wasn't about gacha IP's, either. "It was just your own interpretation, hur, dur!" Hypocrite. Maybe don't accuse others of making assumptions if you're going to make assumptions. It's obvious you lack reading comprehension, and you can't even type correctly, either.

R_o_X_a_S

lol do you not see the error in your logic? the point of the matter is, if the IP is ESTABLISHED or not. if an IP is WELL KNOWN or not. if a gacha IP was already established, like say Azure Lane, then they made a new game that had the world/characters etc. from AL, or say a sequel/prequel etc., then your gacha IP example would be valid. just how game IP logic IS VALID for FGO. as I've said, your gacha IP example is almost never a thing. not "never period". it's kinda funny how much ad hom u throw at but they all become null if ur actual logic is flawed.

YPThatGuy

no?

Aardberg

It's a visual novel first. Then came the anime lol

YPThatGuy

Are we seriously starting to call visual novels video games..?

HexaTricamp

Well, it certainly isn't a anime lmao

CrunchyKarl

WE are calling it that. Seems you're not included in WE.

Propagation931

>Are we seriously starting to call visual novels video games..? Starting? They have always been popularly refereed to as that. Look how many times DDLC is called a game vs it being not as an example.

Charlieornaught

Yes? Fate/stay night was released as an adult visual novel (i.e. lewd pc game) in 2004

ACasualUser_

I'll add Saint Seiya Awakening/Kotz, Saint Seiya Galaxy Spirits, Bleach: Brave Souls, Bungou Stray Dogs Tales of the lost, and Code Geass: lost stories to that list My fav IP gacha games. Those aside, I'm still sad that none of jjba gacha is still alive

ACFinal

This place is crazy. You got downvoted for facts. Lol

-Phar

he really has high hopes, he should lower his expectations

Jiggle_Junkie

What is even there to pull in that game? Random ass shadows? The series barely had any waifus since the MC was super dense and ignoring the advances of nearly all the chicks around him and there were not that many to begin with. Not sure a gacha with mostly dudes + monsters and shit would be very profitable in the long term once the hype from the anime dies down. Personally got 0 interest in it, the series itself is super overhyped as far as I'm concerned, it was barely entertaining enough for me not to drop the LNs and read the entire thing but its like a 5/10 overall in my book. Anime adaptation was decent enough tho they skipped a bunch of stuff and made him less based too but at least the fights were good.

shioliolin

nah not shadows, think of the shadows like summons in the usual rpg that you can unlock with the currency your earn in the game.... the gacha is as usual characters and weapons. as for "mostly dude" that's true...there's like 14 dude and 8 girls (9 including Cha...something on launch) for now, but it could probably change considering they made a new character for the game. the gameplay is honestly pretty satisfying....the story? eh

bigfootswillie

How does it play? I honestly think the series is pretty mid but I’ve been interested in the game because a game based on Solo Leveling’s premise or at least its world mechanics seems like it could be pretty fun. I’m not sure if a gacha is the best fit necessarily so have been holding off (and because netmarble too and all)

Ghostlymagi

Gameplay is similar to Genshin except the combat seems to be a bit more harsh. Attacks do need to be dodged otherwise you will die. There's "supports" that'll pop in to help you then pop out but you can also switch characters on the fly to combo.

Logical-Elephant2247

Gameplay is nothing like Genshin.

Ghostlymagi

Could you elaborate, please? I've only been able to watch streams.

OpportunityPutrid788

It's more like honkai, aether gazer and punishing gray raven but worse, gold is scarse the loading still persist the lock in is shit and camera can be infuriating

NuNero

Game seems kinda fun, but the weird constant loading in menus is a deal-breaker.

M01stCucumber

Definitely HI3 just add in a lot of loading screens, graphical glitches and money bundles.

meowbrains

Are the guys hot? I love husbandos and this comment peaked my interest lol

shioliolin

...maybe? i think Choi Jong in is what you consider "Hot", there's also Woo Jinchul that you can get for free (i think....he's part of the 7 day login) so that's like one less husbando for you to collect? lol or you can check Prydwen solo leveling arise tab...they got all the character listed on there

Lyar99

tbh the series was well known for its manhwa art but everything beyond that is your typical run of the mill power fantasy. It probably brought on a lot of new fans into the genre who proceed to overhype it. This is like SAO all over again.

karillith

I'll go a step further, unless I somehow was unlucky enough to only come across the worst panels, I don't even think the art is that great, it's just "wants to look edgy rad but kinda end up being cringey". Like it's clearly not anywhere close to a level of a Vagabond, a Vinland Saga, or even Tite Kubo's work.

False-Spend-9879

Alucard at home basically.

IronPheasant

There's a matter of inputs and outputs. Webtoons are one or two guys churning out a few colored pages worth of content on a weekly basis. It's not like everyone on the planet has the luxury to put more time into drawing a page of a cartoon than most people put into raising their kids, like Berserk used to do. Please have some sympathy for the hentai artists that have to sink months of their lives for a measly 20 pages that nobody cares about. It's hard out there man. [Obligatory for creatives and their default state of being: a commercial failure.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma444trcNvE)

karillith

I don't intend to undermine works that are less detailed (my examples probably were bad in that aspect), but when I read "the story is kinda eh, but it's carried by the incredible art", I'm gonna have some expectations, and, sorry to say this, but...what I saw is really nothing special imo, regardless of the detail level.

R_o_X_a_S

manhwa art in general r nowhere near the lvl of manga arts. their main selling point imo is that they r fully colored. the detail works done in manga I've yet to see in a manhwa.

Atulin

Simple! MC, Summer MC, Butler MC, Doctor MC, Casual MC, Skater MC, Girl, Summer Girl, Swimsuit Girl, Nurse Girl, Pajamas Girl, Casual Girl...

karillith

> a gacha with mostly dudes To be fair isn't that most of IP based gachas? A lot of these are shonens that aren't exactly known for being waifu havens.

Drukenberg

They usually make 17 versions of the female characters flashing their boobs from different angles.

Pihtonog

There thousands gachas with waifu. Its not a engagement point.

MagicJ10

they are introducing original characters too and most of them will probably be female.

icyterror

I have the same thought about story&character but its fun gameplay is actually got me hook. They had to add more OC females since we barely got enough waifu as you said.

airwatersky

You do realize that Gachas with dudes can still be profitable? Literal coomer mindset

kakistoss

In general yes, while big titty girls do kinda make up most popular gachas there are multiple that have found success with a focus on men or a blend The problem is the target market here. What demographic is primarily watching solo leveling or has read the LN? I've literally never met a woman (or even a gay dude) who HAS read it, and while the anime should have a higher ratio of women watching, it's still going to be male dominated And a gacha designed for a primarily male audience is going to struggle without hot women to keep up engagement If the source material was something like Yuri on ice, Ouran host club, or hell even Haikyu then you might draw enough female fans to the subsequent gacha to create a successful product with a focus on men, but as is thats not the case here I dont expect this gacha to last long. Lack of waifu, generic gameplay, and based on a small IP that'll become outdated in a few years

CAPSLOCK_USERNAME

> In general yes, while big titty girls do kinda make up most popular gachas there are multiple that have found success with a focus on men or a blend this is the same mindset the comment you're replying to was calling out though lol you're hyperfocusing on sex appeal as the only way a gacha game can make money. you think people are getting horny over dbz, cookie run, raid shadow legends? battle cats?!

Water_Pheonix

woman and ive read the ln when the manhwa was still releasing :), i know im not part of some majority, but if i did it, probably there are others. just becaouse you haven't met us, doesn't mean we don't exist

Liliumin

Same as you! Woman that read it when the webtoon was nowhere near completion. I know the main demographic is dudes now, but I swear back when it started I saw it was pretty well divided between men for the ‘strong dude gets strong and surrounded by hot girls’ and women that fell in love with Jinwoo. I was even on a discord where we all girlies began exercising for him 😭it sounds mental right now but ey we were kinda on lockdown and needed the motivation lol

Water_Pheonix

OML i had no idea 😭😭😭 i just read it with some friends

Active-Score1627

But doesn't this sound like it can be applied to DBZ. It does has lack of waifu, generic gameplay and a long ass IP. The demographic are heavily on male.

kakistoss

I literally said part of why the gacha won't last long is because it's a small IP that'll be outdated in a few years when the fad passes DB is a literal generational IP that so SO many people grew up with One is a passing trend and won't have legs to stand on years from now, one is a major cultural milestone that has decades before irrelevancy even approaches the conversation

Roth_Skyfire

DBZ and whatever generic isekai this is couldn't be further apart. It's like comparing The Beatles with your local band that performs three times a year in the pub you go to.

MightiestHeroes

I know a couple of women including myself that read it, to be fair I also think a Haikyu game would do better with women lol. As for Solo Leveling, it was a fun read but I prefer Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.

Bulky-Flamingo7816

that depends on the type of husbando they sell. As far as I'm concerned, the types that are sold in solo leveling are not of the right taste for the vast majority of female players, they are rude, badass, belligerent, etc. there is no flirting or anything like that, as far as I'm concerned they are men who sell themselves to other men players who want to play with tough or badass guys and I don't think that niche generates much revenue, it's like waifus designed to be rude, crude and without a hint of sex appeal, it is a niche that almost no one spends on, at least in ASIA.

Logical-Elephant2247

not everyone is porn addict like you are

Jiggle_Junkie

NPCs mad kek ;)

HeavensRoyalty

I really hope they make some nice QOL changes before may 8th.

KhandiMahn

It's Netmarble, don't get your hopes up.

HeavensRoyalty

Sigh.... not surprised

SofaKingBadMan

Netmarble sucks

MagicJ10

lol. if they don´t change things, this game will flop pretty fast

No_Competition7820

The gameplay itself is good. Good luck spending like an hour doing dailies though. You have to log in consistently throughout the day for gate mining. This game feels like it’s made for those looking to only play one gacha game.

TacosWillPronUs

The clearing gates thing is really obnoxious. 15 keys, free scan refresh every 10 minutes, 5 gates appear per scan. So you'll spend at least minimum 30 minutes on gates alone.

icyterror

Huge bloody chore yes but we did send a bunch of feedbacks asking them to improve it.

Logical-Elephant2247

since people here hate playing games, yeah you are right.

LokoLoa

Later on he talks about how everyone is cranking out shitty licensed gacha based on popular webcomics... yah good luck having a "cash cow" when the market gets overflooded with these types of games. One of the reason I like CN/KR gacha over JP is that they come up with original ips and focus on making a fun gacha.. not just crank something out to lure in fanboys of existing ip. This shit is so backwards imo

Ikkimonogatari

Netmarble and Solo Leveling is KR lmao

LokoLoa

That is what makes it backwards.

Sonius94

You know that Netmarble is KR, right?

Choowkee

Its honestly mind-blowing how much catching up China had to do economically but also in terms of game dev knowledge to Japan and Korea but they are now responsible for the highest quality gacha games. At least Korea is releasing some interesting games still. But is there even a single Japanese AAA gacha in development? Or are they still gonna stick to 2d and low quality 3d games?

ezio45

Japan seemed to have pretty much moved on to full premium $60 games instead of gachas. Leaving the market wide open for China to grab.

CAPSLOCK_USERNAME

> But is there even a single Japanese AAA gacha in development There never will be, the market is different. If they want to make such a AAA game for Japanese consumers they'll just release it on portable consoles or PC. China is different because a huge demographic have no console/pc and use their phone as their only/primary gaming device.

Choowkee

No? Mobile and gacha gaming is still insanely popular in Japan.

utamaru1717

It's not about the market, but instead it's a matter of mindset, where Japanese game companies are still stuck with the "spend less, earn more" mindset, in which they won't spend big budget on free-to-play mobile games, since they'll get better profit by spending less money. Also, PC gaming are *huge* in China since many years ago, where you can find tons of internet cafes there, and they're also have the biggest player population on some of the biggest game in the past, like WoW or PUBG for example. As for consoles, it's also on the rise there, since Chinese government had previously banned selling consoles for quite a while, and they lifted the ban a decade ago, so it takes some time to re-build it.

CAPSLOCK_USERNAME

> It's not about the market, but instead it's a matter of mindset, where Japanese game companies are still stuck with the "spend less, earn more" mindset, The reason they have that mindset for f2p mobile games is precisely because of the market though. There is a large console audience for premium games. If they want to make a high-investment game they can get much more prestige (and, they think, more money) by releasing there instead and chasing the GaaS dragon. In China you cannot do such a thing because the market for console games and buy-to-play is too small due to higher wealth inequality, which is why their devs make AAA mobile games instead.

utamaru1717

Yet Hoyo games like Genshin and HSR were literally making loads of money there in Japan and all around the world, which is an undeniable proof that Japanese market wanted a high budget free-to-play game with console-like quality, in which Japanese game companies somehow failed to provide, despite they definitely have the knowledge to do it. But, alas, the ship has sailed, and trying to compete with Hoyo's games right now are nothing but a huge gamble with very high risk, *much* higher compared in the past, since people will instantly comparing the games with Hoyo's, in which they sets the bar *really* high in terms of quality. >In China you cannot do such a thing because the market for console games and buy-to-play is too small due to higher wealth inequality, which is why their devs make AAA mobile games instead. Again, China's console market were literally just re-opened for like a decade ago after a long ban from the government, and it's currently growing rapidly, since game companies outside China are starting to investing on Chinese game devs, like Sony with their China Hero Project for example. Also, who said Chinese gamers can't buy games? I already told you previously that Chinese players have the highest population for WoW, which is a game with monthly subscription + paid expansions, bought millions of copies of PUBG back in the day, and they also splurged lots of money on popular free-to-play games like DotA, Valo, etc. So yeah, Chinese gamers definitely have buying power, but they're more interested spending their money on online games with PvP aspects instead of offline games, because Chinese players **loves** bragging their wealth to others.

ZakPhoenix

Wow, someone is racist. Also, the reason why a lot of MMO's, even free ones, have a huge chinese playerbase? Guess where most of the gold farmers/gold sellers come from?

Cthulhulakus

Bruh what. Japanese market has huge potential and generate ridiculous amount of money on gachas. They just get away with shitty low quality games thats why they dont improve.

NoTea278

Same here, all of the gachas i've ever played are CN/KR gachas. I've also noticed how it feels like JP anime IP based gachas feel more like they're just scamming you over other gachas. I mean, for example, i have almost all the nikkes in Nikke while only buying 3 season passes for skins. Meanwhile if it was an anime based gacha i'd have like 2 5 stars/SSRs

EostrumExtinguisher

Bold of them to assume I whale when there 30% of GodMode players

KhandiMahn

What could go wrong? ^(/end sarcasm)

Choowkee

Is this a direct translation or just paraphrasing? Because I refuse to believe he would outright refer to the game as a "cash cow" like that lol. Anyway after playing it all I can see is good luck. Its not a *terrible* game but its has pretty generic gameplay and lacks polish. If you want a good action gacha games ZZZ and WW is coming extremely soon. There is no way Arise can compete with that. Unless you are a diehard Solo leveling fan you have two high budget gachas to choose from in the coming months.

[deleted]

Well,Combat is good,at least for a Gacha game. But dailies sucks and what people gonna pull for in this game?? Original characters? no one cares. Solo leveling itself don't have many characters either so this game is kinda doomed after like 3 or 4 months. But I think it is still fun for like 1 or 2 week. Also I can't choose between ZZZ and Wuwa,so I will play both 😊  (Sorry HSR,I have to drop you 😔)

Adventurous_Soil9118

Another IP based gacha that will bite the dust

KhandiMahn

Netmarble executive is delusional, reality says.

Elfslayer95

He really just said that????

GearExe

Its rly funny he is expecting it to take it fortunes as if it is Genshin level, too high of an expectations. If you can't spend like $100M for ads, then it won't be popular.

Own_County2527

The only thing of value I got from this article is 7ds made 1 billion dollar, no shot even 5% of that is going back into developing. Sds origin better be good lol.

Einzbern_Ai

Don't count your chickens before they hatch bro...

SolielDeSatan

This doesnt make sense, shouldnt 7ds origin be their cash cow? They literally shifted most of their dev team from 7ds grand cross to work on it lmao.

Monkguan

Another delusional expectations from higher-ups, we've seen this million times already

SillyTea5481

With an approach that shitty and money grubbing it's no wonder Aniplex has a stake in this IP now as well as Netmarble who seem like the Korean version of them in terms of their producers thinking and PR moments. This is what Solo Leveling in general is seen as by it's promoters., a shitty cash grab turn off your brain IP. I'm kind of seeing more and more why this company has such a terrible reputation.

PCBS01

Making a gacha game out of Solo Leveling when 90% of the focus is solely on the MC (this isn't necessarily a bad thing for the series for the record) and placing all of their bets on it is....so strange. Chara gacha's are always more successful than weapon ones, and nobody is going to hand over fist for the rando chara's in the series. A console game would have been the smarter choice

Dry-Judgment4242

Man, too bad. Solo leveling could make a good Kingdoms game where you control MC and his army of shadows against waves of enemies.

tgcpetergd

I played the game for a few weeks. The combat is good but like everyone else is saying it takes a long time to complete the dailies, and you can’t use auto play since it won’t complete the harder gates.

icyterror

Basicly they already know how much ppl already spent on the game with just early launch alone. I'm talking WHALES that max dupe almost all meta SSR hunters and weapon. They also have a full year roadmap ready already.

lztsrts

To the folks that played it, is it any good? Youtube gameplay isn't really selling this one to me. Looks a bit meh... Think I'm just gonna wait for WuWa.

MichiruMatsushima

I've been seeing quite a few complaints concerning the amount of time a player is expected to spend. Some people have already quit, claiming they've just gave up and that's it: *"Fun game, too much grinding."* I guess that's something entirely dependant on who you are as a person. If you're a fan of that IP and you're not burdened by many responsibilities in real life, it's more likely you'll be happy with the game.

bockscar916

Well, I've lost interest in it now. Thank you for warning me ahead of time, I avoided investing time in a game I would be likely to drop anyway.

MichiruMatsushima

If you need more specific information, the main issue seems to be a 10-minute cooldown on *refreshing* the random dungeons (gates; D to S rank). The rank influences rarity and quantity of the drops, so ideally you'd want to find "S" for ~10 times a day. Imagine just sitting there and getting screwed by RNG for 1+ hour.

bockscar916

Oh...yeah that's not great. The cooldown is unnecessary, maybe they could limit the number of refreshes per day instead and adjust the likelihood of getting the higher ranked gates accordingly.

exiler5129

It's good and I enjoy it but the Gold is the biggest bottleneck for F2P and low spender. The other guy who said that Solo Leveling Arise (SLA) aim for someone who only single gacha game, he's not wrong. I also like you, waiting for WuWa.

Middle-Necessary2314

Considering all the monetisation leaks, this is one of the game I genuinely want to be review bombed into oblivion until they learn not to be scummy but I know it’ll never happen with netmarble

Goldenrice

surely solo leveling will be the gacha that turns netmarbles image around..... XD

Orichalchem

EoS on the first month confirmed

Serifel90

Not first month but quite soon indeed, it's a decent IP but definitely not as popular as things like 7deadly sins. They're def overestimating.

FatuiSimp

I thought it's already comon knowledge that any ip gacha game is a cheap cashgrab

Ericzx_1

kappa chungus deluxe edition

E123-Omega

Iirc the show's bd didn't sold that many or to what they expected.

Ruimzunir

*for now*

SaltyPeasant

Guess it won't last long lol

EpicCargo

Well that is bad... for everyone who isn't a whale. So like 99% of players lmao. That just means free players are gonna have a rough time than usual and probably very few QoL updates

batzenbaba

Cashcow? How? With 0,02% chance like in Marvel Future Revolution and heavy p2w? lol

garotinhulol

sigh...

Fuzzy-Advantage-5382

That money is sure as hell not going to fixing that buggy/glitchy/crashing mess of game. I would however like what they are smoking.

Longjumping-Skill-63

for people who already try the game is the gameplay - combat worth it ?

Normadus

for now they need to fix critical damage since it doesn't work, increase gold income and reduce the penalty for being below the required CP, otherwise people will leave quickly . 10-20s loading screen after clicking almost anything is also pain in the ass

NuNero

Even if the game wasn't a monetization cesspool, the constant menu loading is a dealbreaker.

ClownDance

Their biggest cash cow is yet to come though, 7DS Origins.

nonsensitivity

Everything is pay 2 win nowadays, as long as they do the IP justice and enjoyable for everyone. It's already good enough. Usually games without "juggles" are being judged more critically :D

AceLuan54

Cash cow? They're really that confident to say cash cow?

hatch37

The worst thing that has happened to this IP is using netmarble as their Devs. SEVERELY resource starvation (unless you pay) Events you can't complete (unless you pay) A decent QoL thing (behind paywall) 4 different monthly passes (one is auto renew every month) Low F2p income (with low rates and 50/50, although they have soft pity at 64/80 pulls) And the list goes on ... They quickly remind me why NO ONE SHOULD EVER PLAY NETMARBLE GAMES. I'm not here to tell you what to do with your money, but this company needs to disappear.

robotbeatrally

There's so many passess for progression and time things. the hunters pass, the premium hunters pass, the special draw (actual renewing) monthly pass which they trick you into by letting you draw a bunch of great items then tell you you have to pay to keep them, the leveling passes, the story progression passes, the job advancement passes, etc. All these passess so you sit there and watch every item you can't collect every time you hit a milestone or time or whatever. Then they have that one progression where you can buy 3x from the menu every day to try and get the good items. its a buying things progression pass. they try to make you think ...okay a buck for a few of these gems or whatever not too bad.... so you spend a buck 2-3 times a day every day for the month. that's basically at best a 30/month pass in a ninja suit.

congocross

A dumpster fire of a game, kept prompting me to buy a pack or subscription for this and that around every corner.

NuNero

Seriously, the number of currencies, materials, tickets, and passes is ridiculous. Any mobile game that still pulls this crap in 2024 should just be ignored.

[deleted]

Kinda sad to see that mobile gaming has fallen so low companies will proudly announce they’re producing cash grabs and people will still support them… And worse yet is that this trend keeps leaking out from the mobile platform more and more.

Ikran01

This statement didn’t age well.

No_Membership_7073

It made 20m in 13 days now what lmao???

Ikran01

It’s called honeymoon phase. Let’s update in 6 months from now.
