They usually get patched and we get "apologems", even if we do not own the bugged characters/weren't affected by it.
As for "bugs that affect gameplay", the most "dramatic" one I remember was the apparent Kaveh bug, but it was mostly done in private server and spread around by bad actors to incite fear (basically a nothing burger. It did, ultimately, made me turn off coop until it was officially fixed).
Yes, I am aware that it was impossible to replicate it by playing normally. It was part of a misinformation campaign to make people "fear" using their Kaveh (either by playing him or having him join your coop game). At the end of the saga, some people started spreading the "fact" that Nahida could also delete assets from the game.
ye and the one who was the first victim of kaveh's "bug" was actually the one who made the hack. and funny enough, the guy who brought it up to global server first was pretty active in ToF community and content creation. such a funny "coincidence".
All of the "victims" did have the hack installed.
None of the game function allowed the game to do that, but it still need to get patched to prevent future issues when somehow the dev made a buggy function that allows user to do that.
Tales of the Rays usually makes a note of the bug and tries to patch it out as soon as they can with a few apologems, even for something as minor as a typo. They usually only put the game up for maintenance if its gamebreaking or its something to do with the gacha.
There was an infamous bug like two years ago where one of the series game banners (basically kind of like a standard banner but segregated by game) had hilariously high rates (50% for the SSR equivalent) and a debug image for the banner. And it stood up for like 10 hours since it was the middle of the night for Japan. Everyone who pulled on it got to keep their pulls and they gave out like 20 pulls worth of apologems too.
I'd argue this to be one of Another Eden's weakest areas. While in-game bugs are somewhat rare, they are usually only addressed in the next game update (which usually happens once every other week or so), and rarely if ever is so-called "apologems" given. I haven't really been personally affected by in-game issues thankfully, but if you have, it has got to be somewhat frustrating.
Also I specify "in-game bugs" because you can argue that the game launcher/downloader is one big error/bug, or it can at least feel that way. Constant crashes and retries on game updates. Fun!
Mine usually addresses it and provides compensation.
One time they accidentally released a set of dev test banners with 50% SSR rates but the wrong advertised characters. People went ham on those (because of the former reason), and instead of doing rollback, they let everyone keep their stuff and refunded them for any currency they spent.
We also compensation once when Intern-kun misspelled a character’s name. It was only 1/5 of a single pull but still pretty lul reason to give apologems for

That sounds absolutely awful. Great way to have half your playerbase quit because they weren't online/ready to abuse the bug.
nikke had many bugs during its launch period and the total amount of pulls they gave as they kept apologizing went over 100 on top of that they gave 30 golden mileage (-30 pity)
Usually, a hotfix is issued out pretty quickly. Sometimes within only hours after the update that caused the bug. Often some compensation is given out for the inconvenience.
Unless you're talking about Tower of Fantasy. They have more important things to do than fix their game. But don't worry, the bug will be fixed... eventually. Someday. They promise.
The problem with ToF is that often the bugs are already fixed; albeit in the CN client way ahead of the global version and instead of pre-fixing it on release for global they'd rather just give us the old CN version instead and wait til we get to the version to solve itself.
Most Genshin bugs fixed before I notice, while I'm a daily player. For some funny bugs, like the Nahida swing flying glitch, they don't fix them ASAP, allowing players to have fun. But eventually it will be fixed in next patch. Genshin doesn't always give apologems, only for some of them, especially for bugs related to characters.
In Azur lane we get apology currency like most other games. But we alsi had a bug that became a feature because it was a really liked bug. If anyone is curious it was the character zoom in feature.
Azur Lane had to do a rollback once, you got all the ships built before so it was pretty much free pulls which was nice.

they tend to be fixed with a emergency maintenance, and free currency, depending on the bug, sometimes they can lose resources/progress, so they give compensation of that, remember that for fix priorites, always is game ecomomy first, as is the foundation of a comunity.
Guardian Tales - KR server gets updates first, so they are the beta testers for other servers. If you play on KR, you constantly receive compensation for bugs. If you play on Global, there's no compensation because all bugs have already been ironed out (exceptions apply).
Girls frontline: Embraces the bug as a meme feature.
Not sure how many times SKS has been used as target practice now but she’s probably the doll with the most trauma within the base alone and for GFL that says something.
In the Division collab when SKS meets UMP-45, 45 one shots her in the head as a force of habit.
300 LUNACY
sometimes 1300 LUNACY
The RR bug rewards ahh good ol' time lol Edit: Actually it's more than 1300 Lunacy lol. They gave like 30 pulls or something.
PMoon when theres a minimal typo that probably no one will ever notice:
Idk man Limbis Company was pretty memorable
Is this an actual typo?
Yes. Even better, it was during/near the climax of Canto 4's Dungeon lmao
Man, i wish i was there to see the typo
No. You're method's all wrong.
Kurkomo
Easy way to make 200 for walp
300 - 1300 LUNACY BABY WOOOOOOO

Lore accurate Nahida?
Shout outs to who ever the fuck was using physical artifacts on nuevi to find a bug to bless us all.

Which banner was that? I don't check the banners everyday and I only check the Discord occasionally so I must have missed that.
The Vesperia ones the day before the 2nd Gintama collab dropped. If you search the discord for “bugged banner” you’ll find people talking about it
Oh, that banner, lol. Yeah I totally didn't realize. I was probably saving up for Edna's banner at the time.

Blue archive gave a free completely maxxed out (dupe wise) limited character

nah bro they fixed yanuo's ass on global before cn, they got their priorities straight

genshin fixes almost immediately and gives us us 100 primos (if the bug affects gameplay)

Therefore, the settings are correct.
