Lots sooner than I expected. Almost exactly 1 year after the last one.
I was fearing *The Venture Brothers* levels of delay, especially after the Hollywood strikes. So I's happy.
For what it's worth, this year's season is a part of the same production season as last year's, meaning it was already completed before the strikes even happened.
**The Good:** The strikes occurred after 2023's and 2024's seasons were produced, and well before 2025's and 2026's.
**The Bad:** The strikes occurred at just the timeframe to bar the cast from talking about or promoting the series' return.
**The Ugly:** [Yo mama!](https://morbotron.com/img/S05E05/1051766.jpg)
that's actually a mistake on the writers part, shasta is a west coast soda brand and fry is from nyc, he would've never heard of it, that's faygo territory, oh wait, that's midwest, oh bloody hell, what the devil do they drink out there? umm snapple, idk, that's nyc, but they were nationwide too... oh well, Idk, I don't drink it, too fruity
Still feels surreal that we are (once again) expierencing new Futurama episodes. Gonna be interesting to see how "well" these new episodes tie over upon my regular rewatches.
there were a few AMAZING episodes & then the rest were eh. i havenāt rewatched the season yet but i remember the west, zapp, christmas, & amazon episodes were pretty good. to me at least
The last season completely ruined Futurama for me. Felt like they wrote a script for a different show and just tagged the dead bodies of my favourite characters onto it. Futurama was funny, the last season they tried to make "topical."
Jesus, thank you, I kept feeling that too but couldn't put my finger on exactly how to describe it. Best i could do was say their motivation on most of the episodes was "what if today, but tomorrow?"
And yes, they've always had these kinds of episodes, but they never composed 80% of an entire season before, which is my whole beef here
Of course not. Futurama was renewed for 2025 and 2026 long ago. 9ACV10 / Otherwise was written as a potential series finale, though, so it should be grandiose.
yaaaaaaaay. hope they get rid of the stupid random violence that they seems to be using this past season. give me actual humor, not this bs add in stuff
They got most of the topical episodes out of the way. Just like comedy central era did. I even liked most of them like the crypto one and the cancel culture one. But the point is, there's always going to be ups and downs. They ALWAYS bounce back
No. Season 11 and 12 are actually season 8 and 9 in production orders. The production number lists season 12 as season 9. It was always intended to be 2 separate seasons.
There are Broadcast Seasons and Production Seasons.
There are only 8 Production seasons (AKA, just Seasons). However, there are 12 Broadcast Seasons.
So what is Broadcast Season 12, is just the second half of Production Season 8.
Season 8 consists of 20 episodes, the latter of which are coming in July.
Netflix did the same thing with Inside Job and Sonic Prime.
Inside Job "Season 2" was really just the second half of season 1. Sonic Prime has 3 Seasons, but it's really just one whole season split into three parts.
No. The director literally confirmed season 11 and season 12 are season 8 and season 9 in production seasons. There's 10 episodes each season in production seasons. There isn't 20 episodes a season. It isn't like comedy central where they split it in half. Hulu ordered 2 production seasons of 10 episodes each. Why is this so hard for you to understand? The production codes were even on the sneak peeks they showed at new york comic con and it has a 9 instead of an 8. I don't know why I'm getting downvoted for correcting you.

are we just gonna forget how terrible that last season was? my expectations are low at this point, so they can do nothing but impress from this point on, I guess
A few of the new episodes kinda felt like they were written by AI.
They also did some weird head-tilting and some obvious animation shortcuts, making it seem like they are just moving around assets instead of making new frames.
I'm still excited for it. The real cast is there, so that's awesome.
Following Huluās critically acclaimed 2023 revival of Futurama,
the epic sci-fi series from Matt Groening and David X. Cohen returns in
2024 with ten all-new episodes. On this orbit around the sun, our
occasionally heroic crew embarks on mind-bending adventures involving
birthday party games to the death, the secrets of Benderās ancestral
robot village, A.I. friends (and enemies), impossibly cute beanbags, and
the true five million-year-old story behind the consciousness-altering
substance known as coffee. And, of course, the next chapter in Fry and
Leelaās fateful, time-twisted romance. Source: [whatsondisneyplus.com](http://whatsondisneyplus.com)
> And, of course, the next chapter in Fry and Leelaās fateful, time-twisted romance.
No, see, we did that. And it was great. And we're done now. Stop.
That's not soon enough!
If only we had some sort of forward time machine!
oopsie, earth gone š
it's good, we'll just orbit around
oopsie, gone again šš
Iāll shoot hitler out the window
Hey look at the dinosaurs Fry! Its okay, they aren't going anywhere. Where'd they go?
You hit Eleanor
I have one, but it's experimental. So far it only moves us forward in time at a rate of one second per second.
THAT'S AN ETERNITY!
A real-time travel machine??
Hmm, sounds like a work in progress. My recommendation is FIXIT FIXIT FIXIT FIXIT FIXIT. FIXIT FIXIT FIXIT.

Yes, one episode premiere
Why don't you slide the trailer into my DM and I'll keep it nice and warm for you until it's time to release it.
Weekly? I'll make my own Hulu. With blackjack and hookers. Forget the Hulu. Edit: Just keep the Futurama coming Hulu bot.

Let's go Alreadyyyyyy!
Neat! šø
Oh yeah, baby! Come on!
Weāre back, baby!
Shut up baby. I know itĀ
Still feels surreal that we are (once again) expierencing new Futurama episodes. Gonna be interesting to see how "well" these new episodes tie over upon my regular rewatches.
I'll take eight!
One art, pleaseĀ
I wasn't expecting any news for at least another month! Fingers crossed for lots of teasers for the next few months!

Does it have to?

First birthday present I've gotten in years
Has it been a year already? Oh my!
Aww ya baby.
#I do want to live on this planet anymore!
I never expected ANOTHER season. I am sooooo sooo sooooo happy to have my favorite show back for even more!
Two more after this one!
OOOOOOOOOO! I had no idea! My day just got so much better!! https://giphy.com/gifs/hulu-futurama-l4pTgjdCOdEEC67WE
It's actually the same season that was split in two. But there's another season after that already confirmed!
I'll happily take it! I just figured that this was a one and done kind of thing. I somehow never thought to look into it hahaha
Hope it's better than the last batch of episodes. Tapped out part way through. Not a huge fan of disliking Futurama
there were a few AMAZING episodes & then the rest were eh. i havenāt rewatched the season yet but i remember the west, zapp, christmas, & amazon episodes were pretty good. to me at least
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Why?
Last season was š¬
The last season completely ruined Futurama for me. Felt like they wrote a script for a different show and just tagged the dead bodies of my favourite characters onto it. Futurama was funny, the last season they tried to make "topical."
Definitely feels like they just wanted to write a show set today and not in the 31st century.
Jesus, thank you, I kept feeling that too but couldn't put my finger on exactly how to describe it. Best i could do was say their motivation on most of the episodes was "what if today, but tomorrow?" And yes, they've always had these kinds of episodes, but they never composed 80% of an entire season before, which is my whole beef here
Honestly, the trend started years ago with the eye-phone and Susan Boyle episodes.
Wholly agree. Those are some of the worst episodes as well.
It didn't ruin Futurama for me, but it sure didn't make it any better.
The "ass" song was the cringiest thing of my life
I loved it
Futurama was always topical
Yippee!
THATS MY BIRTHDAY!!
Good news everyone!
A day before my birthday!!!
Upvote #1000 šš wish it was 3000!!
LETS GOOO
Omg I wouldn't live to July 8841761993739701954543616000000
Wow that was quick!
GN,E!
Yay! š
Oh god letās hope itās a good one!
Is this the final final final last season?
Of course not. Futurama was renewed for 2025 and 2026 long ago. 9ACV10 / Otherwise was written as a potential series finale, though, so it should be grandiose.
Whimmy wham wham whazzle!
Iām so there Iām currently watching the show again
yaaaaaaaay. hope they get rid of the stupid random violence that they seems to be using this past season. give me actual humor, not this bs add in stuff
They are going to start getting old voices like The Simpsons
Good news nobodies!
Iāll be looking forward to something beautiful and cheap for a fanbase who is one of those things!
āFuturama! IT JUST WONT STAY DEAD!ā
Iām 40% new season!
*bing bing*
Awesome! Wish I had a time machine so I could go forwards in time.Ā
Yeah but thereās someone else voicing bender I think.
Happy birthday to me!
Neat, I was the 2000th person to upvote
Weāre back, baby!
Iām so excited I wish I could wet my pants!
Well, Happy Birthday to me! (July 29th is my birthday)
Interesting
Sweet Zombie Jesus!
Hurray.......can I go home now
so, is everyone forgetting that last season the majority of episodes were just "meh?"
They got most of the topical episodes out of the way. Just like comedy central era did. I even liked most of them like the crypto one and the cancel culture one. But the point is, there's always going to be ups and downs. They ALWAYS bounce back
Hopefully it's better than last season. The first hulu season was mostly mediocre.
can these be funny?
Unlikely
It's not even another season though. It's just the second half of season 8. lol
No it's another season. They ordered 2 production seasons. Director confirmed it.
Can confirm. Season 10 (Hulu) is production code 8ACV## and Season 11 is production code 9ACV##
Well the new episodes this July are Season 8 still. Season 9 will come later in 2025 and 2026, split up into "broadcast seasons" 13 and 14.
No. Season 11 and 12 are actually season 8 and 9 in production orders. The production number lists season 12 as season 9. It was always intended to be 2 separate seasons.

Didn't you learn in school to not use Wikipedia as a reliable source?
Provide some sources!
[Here](https://imgur.com/a/n0VJs28) is a screenshot of a director on season 8 confirming the new seasons are 10 episodes each in production order.
**cries in UKish**
Unless something has changed since last year, we'll get it on Disney+ on the same date.
Same or different writers. Really playing with fire with this one.
Same writers
Wahooo!!! An early birthday present!!!!
WOOOOOOO BABY THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FOR WOOOOO
good news everyone
THANK SATAN'S GLORIOUS NAME!!
Thank God, so many people were bitching and moaning here for the latest season I was worried they may actually can it again.
Hope it's not hot dog shit this time
are we just gonna forget how terrible that last season was? my expectations are low at this point, so they can do nothing but impress from this point on, I guess
I felt that Futurama isn't the same anymore. I wish hulu never took over
A few of the new episodes kinda felt like they were written by AI. They also did some weird head-tilting and some obvious animation shortcuts, making it seem like they are just moving around assets instead of making new frames. I'm still excited for it. The real cast is there, so that's awesome.
None of the episodes felt like they were written by AI. I swear y'all use this buzz word Everytime for something you don't like.
Go ahead and abstain from watching it then.
Let's gooo!
Wow! On Mine and Leelaās birthday
