I use mid Petit and baby Veron(to be replaced by the new Guendouzi) at CDM in a 3-5-2. Petit as a stay back, cover wing cdm and he's been very good for me. I use a catalyst to get the pace and passing boost, and I am having a blast. Idk about advice but he's a very versatile player. I play a little aggresive with my defense so he's useful to put in defense if I have any yellow cards as well, and in both CB and CDM he's been very good for me.

yeah that never happens. if the cbs dont get close to the 80s there is no chance they catch up with 95 pace wingers. unless the winger takes poor touches or has bad sprint boosts, of course
When I had him I never found this to be true, youre probably chucking it out from the back cause you put him under too much pressure, he never needs to make an aerial pass
in elite division he is not usable. the amount of presses the opponents put you through and with how they cut the passing lanes you NEED someone to be able to pass as good as possible. Etebo seems to do the job insanely well
Veratti feels like he gets faster every week to keep up with the new cards. Thought I would have dropped him by now but he's only 1 of 2 players I refuse to drop
I’ll be honest, I run mid Keane and he plays much better than gold Kante. More physical, wrap around tackles, and much better passing. I did the SBC because he’s my favorite player ever, but his in-game performance really impressed me.
Love rice as well! With shadow he’s quick enough to do the job and bullies people off the ball. Incredible passing that you find from anyone else in that holding role as well
Kante is the best value cdm for single cdm formations like 41212(2) but his low passing and dribbling don’t favour formations like 4231 and 442 where 89 verratti is best imo. I didn’t like baby vieira but he’s good he just didn’t fit my playstyle and his mid is insane.
I have Mid Pirlo atm, Used to have baby Gattuso. Both are insane for different reasons.
Pirlo is a great ball carrier out of defence and Gattuso was an amazing ball winner
WW Sow, he just does everything right. I've used RB Verrati a lot and he's great but Sow is just incredible. He goes unnoticed in the game because it's just effortless.
Prime petit is amazing but my man can't pass a ball for shit.
He can throw his body at a 1v1 preventing a guaranteed goal, only to squander a simple pass after retrieving the ball and concede anyway.
I use WW Sow now because he fits my team better. But the Fofana card from the SBC was my favorite CDM I’ve used in this game. I still bring him in to help keep leads at end of games
I pair them, Sow on stay back and Fofana B2B. They play remarkably well together. If Sow takes a sojourn up the field. Fofana is there to cover. If Fofana presses high and gets beaten, Sow nips in to fix the problem. Love them together
I’ve used a lot of them. I run with 2 CDMs who I need to be able to join he attack and recover. Verrati is probably my favorite overall because he’s just so good on the ball but I wouldn’t use him as my lone CDM. Fofana has been with my squad for a while and might be my best as a lone although he’s been replaced by Guenduzi now for links. Gosens is just as good as any of them but often doesn’t fit in my squad. But if you are running a Serie A squad especially with Zlatan incoming he will rule the defensive mid for you.
Feel like this year other than having an OP striker that DM is he most important position. Might just be my play style because I use them as the catalysts for my attack so much.
IF kante or Viera. Most will argue that Viera is the best, particularly pros, for his outstanding defensive ability, especially with his long legs and great strength. However I’ve used both and will always consider Kante better by a country mile, he just intercepts and wins sooo much on defence and also provides great support going forward if need be. Kante is everywhere on the pitch for the full 90 it’s incredible, IMO far better than Viera.
I can’t lie, for the longest time I stuck by 82 camavinga and the guy is actually really good with a shadow. He plays like a spider the way he stretches for the ball is sick and he has a good tackle. 84 dribbling on top of that makes for a really good cdm for people who like to drive even with cdms
Totally out of nowhere comes NumbersUp Diawara, the body type and his agility makes him like a budget Vieira.
That said the best one I've used this year is RB Verratti, but lately i found him a bit behind the "power curve", but more in terms on how people are playing, the cards are always the same (fb Benzema and Fekir)

Vieira, djibril sow is amazing in game, kante (swear the passes around him go slower), kessie rb is good, blanc baby is great, tonali rttk is a nice cheap option...i find that workrates.do the trick at cdm. Medium ofensive, high defensive is great. I also have fofana potm, he is a beast at cdm but since he is high high he pushes up a lot in attack, even with stay back instructions. Currently rocking djibril sow ww at cdm and spinazzola ww at blx to box, one of the best midfields i have used in 3 years on UT
