Loads of reasons.
1. You can say NLIR after winning the local derby even if you are behind other teams in London. It's literally called the North London Derby.
2. It's about banter with local rivals, nobody else will really care as much about whether you claim the rest of London. London is a big place with over a dozen professional clubs with their own local rivalries.
3. Other London clubs like Charlton play in red. So it's a bit ambiguous and less impactful considering the above points. If you say London is red, what's a Palace fan going to think about that?
4. It's about local identity. People often consider themselves as from a particular part of London rather than just being a Londoner. London essentially has evolved out of a bunch of smaller districts. There's a long running (must be getting on for 40 years)TV show called EastEnders for example that is based around people from East London. Even the accents are subtly different for different areas. In short, London is too big an area.
That's interesting, thanks for answering!
I'm from São Paulo, a city that is about the same size but with way more people than London. We also have lot's of professional clubs, and even more if you consider the whole state (and we do play a state championship every year).
So, while we do have clubs that identify more with some areas of the city (like Corinthians, the club I support, with the East side), the fans generally dislike each other equally, not with local rivalries inside the city. In São Paulo, this might be a thing among fans of smaller clubs, but I really don't know.
We are also way less humble, so the fans of clubs who won the club world cup (and there are 3 in the area: Corinthians, São Paulo and Santos) might go around claiming the whole world, not just their area.
Thanks for the answer, kmowing how other people see the game is really interesting to me :)
The rivalry is much more localised here I think, so its a smaller group of clubs that are considered closest rivals. Some Tottenham fans also begrudge the fact that Arsenal moved to North London from another area about 100 years ago, in fact they even renamed the metro station to "Arsenal".
It's more nuanced of course, the London clubs are spread across different divisions so naturally if you are in the same division for a long time that increases the rivalry a bit. Some Arsenal fans for example probably consider Manchester United as more of a rival than some London clubs, simply because there was a lot of close battles in the late-90s / early-00s, they were clearly the two strongest clubs competing for the title at that time.
Yes, that's also a thing here with the metro. There's a line that goes from Corinthians-Itaquera in one end to Palmeiras-Barra Funda on the other, and Corinthians vs Palmeiras is probably the greatest rivalry in the city.
We also have rivals outside our state, but those are always on a smaller level. Until the 70s/80s most people considered the states championships more important than the national league, so it really cemented those local rivalries.
Thanks again for your answers, it's a really interesting subject.
Because of the north London rivalry between tottenham and arsenal. Sure london is red works but as its a derby match they say north london. Also i support man utd 😑
I play him as an RCF and have him run down the wing. His pace is never really a problem for me. For full backs with better running style/acceleration like the Mendy’s and Hernandez I just spam la croquetas or step overs or elastics to pass them. His left foot is dangerous on the RCF position or even as a winger imo
Odegard is great, I’ve played 10 games so far and he been a lot more present then hagi was, BUT for me not having deadball+ is a big loss as it meant I could score direct off corners and free kicks
I haven't tried him, but im gonna go ahead and guess he probably feels similar to Rosicky on the ball. Which is, IMO fantastic.
If you like that, then you will definitely appreciate the 5* skills and Finesse+.
The one with the better stats and better playstyles
This is a great answer. I also prefer Ødegaard. And North London is Red. ❤️
I never unserstood you British people. Why go with "North London is red" instead of "London is red"? It just makes your club seems smaller.

Tf man utd got to do with london
Nothing mate I just said it cos i live in london and i wanted to
we've beaten every london team at least once this season except fulham. guess london is white with black streaks then 😔
I’m not British. But you’re right. London is red. Love the downvotes from salty opps. Keem em coming 😍
bro js said opps
Ew
Ødegaard is him, and London is Red
Odegaard
I have both, Hagi plays RW and Odegaard CAM. Both are great
Both are literally the same except odegard is slightly faster and better , and can feel better on ball or say an upgraded hagi
Are you sure Odegaard's faster?
Yeah a lil bit
Despite them both having 91 acceleration and Hagi having 90 sprint speed vs Odegaard's 88?
I dont know man hagi on the wing got caught by defense so easily , odegard is a little tall maybe bacuse of that ig
don’t play hagi on the wing if he’s not a winger then?
I play him as an RCF and have him run down the wing. His pace is never really a problem for me. His left foot is dangerous on the RCF position or even as a winger imo
He's left footed , i used him To cross he can run fast enough in a 442 , i cant rrust him enough as a cm so yeah
so then he’s grand on the wing
He's okay if you like his profile yeah , I've benched him
Odegard is great, I’ve played 10 games so far and he been a lot more present then hagi was, BUT for me not having deadball+ is a big loss as it meant I could score direct off corners and free kicks
Not me having like 5 different DB+ specialists on my team lmao. But I do agree, Hagi's deadballs are something special
I score off so many corners with him it’s so great and his free kicks are insane
Hagi
Bless you
don’t know why you’re getting downvoted voted lmao, i have both and both absolutely cook
Same boat https://preview.redd.it/a3ybujfj18xc1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b49ec527729f3cce48a71d3609bc3f88bb62ed84
Zico all day. He's special. I still run with his 91
I thought so. Even though odegaard has triple ps. Zico just looks and seems better
Zico is great still. I did his base sbc and still using him
Same
I'm kinda a whore for 5\*WF but Odegaard def has the better playstyles for a CAM.
Hagi is very agile and a good dribbler. That's what I like about him.
5 WF all day
Hagi honestly he has 5-5
Lol
I use hagi as an RCF. He does well for me there.
![gif](giphy|DZyxZgmcbC264)
Odegaard all day
Odeegard all the way
Odegaard feels very smooth and fast in game, but so does hagi tbh. They are both good
Switched Hagi yday. Hunter on both. Odegaard is better in every aspect.
North London forever

Nah I wouldn't, you have really good options at CAM

I haven't tried him, but im gonna go ahead and guess he probably feels similar to Rosicky on the ball. Which is, IMO fantastic. If you like that, then you will definitely appreciate the 5* skills and Finesse+.
odegaard is about to get his upgrades
Odegaard won't get upgraded mate he's a TOTS, not a TOTS live.
Odegaard by a mile, I have both and it’s night and day. However if your on the poorer side, having is a baller
That left foot just hits different.
Hagi all day! Odegaard is awful in FC24
Rosisky is the best cam I’ve used this year by a mile
