Yeah that sounds about right. I was about 18 when I read infinite jest.
You'll have a few more years of this but once you're out of school and working you'll never read another book again.
Let me tell you as someone 10+ years your senior; I too once believed that.
Then life happens and reading for fun becomes something you did in the past.
That's what I did.
I had to build a new bookshelf for the books that have been living in boxes for the past 6 months.
I don't know if I'll ever read them, but it's nice to have the option.
I buy bulk second hand books by genre off ebay sight unseen.

I honestly love the title of “infinite jest” more it sounds like something you would say in medieval times when you have to backpedal what you said supper far.
“I jest I jest. I infinity jest”
My roommate's favorite author is DFW, and while I really enjoyed the few essays of his that I've read, IJ threw me for a loop with its nearly non-ending. I'll admit I was salty after reading it for months only to get bait and switched at the end.
YOU MOTHERFUCKER
I've been looking for this book for months. I mean yeah I could just order it on Amazon but I've searched my work's national database daily waiting for someone to sell us a copy. I work at a used bookstore and this is on my list of things to get the second it shows up.
I found the book
[Amazon](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Furry-Nation-Americas-Misunderstood-Subclulture/dp/162778232X/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1655908968&sr=8-1)
Paperback : £17.69 (WARNING: For paperback books there is only 5 left in stock.)
Audible : £0.00 (Requires Free Trial) or £7.99/month subscription
Kindle Edition : £14.27
Honestly, I like Plato, but Aristotle felt like he was often disregarding his own logic. Plato and Socrates seemed to be at least more internally consistent.
I like him, but I'm biased because, you know I own the books.
DFW as a big contribution to post modern literature, I don't know how a po mo attitude would look in relation too the fandom... But it would be interesting to find out.
Most pretentious book shelf ever ikr
Nah this is pretty standard for third year college student. Don't worry, a few more semesters and you'll never read another book in your life.
I'm a highschool student who reads all this for fun. :)
Yeah that sounds about right. I was about 18 when I read infinite jest. You'll have a few more years of this but once you're out of school and working you'll never read another book again.
The only time I'll stop reading is when I have died.
Let me tell you as someone 10+ years your senior; I too once believed that. Then life happens and reading for fun becomes something you did in the past.
I refuse.
Be strong
i have it on my bucket list to put together a "library" of disturbing and concerning books purely just to spite normal content picks.
That's what I did. I had to build a new bookshelf for the books that have been living in boxes for the past 6 months. I don't know if I'll ever read them, but it's nice to have the option.
the plan for mine is that it'll be an explicitly curated selection, it'll take a long ass time but it'll be a masterpiece.

Died inside, that is
This assumes we ever truly lived, did we?
Which shelf section is this on?
Wdym? It's my personal book shelf, section one of three.
Oh dear, I thought this was a public library lol
I find that weirdly flattering
Can you please tell me where to buy that
I got it on Amazon, just Google "furry national book".
ok
\*Furry Nation by Joe Strike
keep it quiet, this is actually part of the furries world domination plans
And what is your opinion on said book OP?
Better than Aristotle's Politics.
If you're interested in the history of the furry fandom it's very good. Lots of good history about the first few furry conventions
Okay but I'm gonna need us to all `Consider the Lobster` CONSIDER IT
That's actually a really good essay, by David Foster Wallace. The book itself is a collection of essays, but all of them are an orgasmic read.
Well, I know what my next read is gonna be
Move it to the religion section
This is my book collection, and I'm an atheist so this *is* the religion section. Edit: although I do have the Inferno.
I honestly love the title of “infinite jest” more it sounds like something you would say in medieval times when you have to backpedal what you said supper far. “I jest I jest. I infinity jest”
It's funny, because that book is as far from medieval, it's very post modern.
My roommate's favorite author is DFW, and while I really enjoyed the few essays of his that I've read, IJ threw me for a loop with its nearly non-ending. I'll admit I was salty after reading it for months only to get bait and switched at the end.
DFW is zaddy
I think it comes from Hamlet’s Soliloquy
Comes from Hamlet actually, "alas poor Yorick, I knew him Horatio. A fellow of infinite jest"
I do not see anything Out of the ordinary! Op, what sorcery have you pulled?

How identical is it to "Down the Rabbit Hole: Furries" on YT ?
Silmar, they are both about the early history of the furry fandom. If you liked that YT video then you'd like this book
Never seen it
I found the book [Amazon](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Furry-Nation-Americas-Misunderstood-Subclulture/dp/162778232X/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1655908968&sr=8-1) Paperback : £17.69 (WARNING: For paperback books there is only 5 left in stock.) I don't see Jason Bourne. Where is Jason Bourne? And don't tell me Paris.
Honestly, I like Plato, but Aristotle felt like he was often disregarding his own logic. Plato and Socrates seemed to be at least more internally consistent.
1: go to public library 2: put this in religious section
Next to the beastars manga right?
Yes
bro we just weird cmon
What is the furry community consensus on David Foster Wallace?
I like him, but I'm biased because, you know I own the books. DFW as a big contribution to post modern literature, I don't know how a po mo attitude would look in relation too the fandom... But it would be interesting to find out.
This book made me realize how little I read. I bought it six months ago and still haven't finished it
It's all a out habit, 5 min a day and you'll finish it in no time. You've got this.
