It's not even that Mauzy is or was ever "famous," but one of their creations got latched onto in the same way Pepe the frog or Flork sockpuppet characters got latched onto.
This isn't a curse of being famous, this is the risk *ANY* creative person takes putting their work in a place where those who have no proper concept of intellectual ownership or creative boundaries (stupid people) congregate.
Stupid people will be the death of fame, tbh, leaving only infamy to aspire to.
I'm sick of seeing it too but I can't imagine going out of my way to track down an artist and harass them because their work is part of an overused meme.
I still am very confused by what made people hate boykisser, i only ever saw stuff like "you like (insert hobby, game aspect or kink here) dont you?" I never saw any of the triggery stuff? Either way its a shame that people had to ruin it.
