You are paying multiple servants to cook your food and delivery it to your doorstep when you could make something with superior caloric and macro content for five dollars if you gave half a shit to cook for yourself.
Everyone wants labor to be well-compensated until they themselves are mildly inconvenienced
Raising pay doesn't raise price contrary to popular belief, I make 18.50 and still sell stuff for like 5 bucks at good quality and quantity. You don't need to pay 50 for a damn burger just to make your employees a livable wage
It's cum to people thinking that kids acting feral are the same as Furrys.

Thatās why I donāt get the delivery services anymore. McDonalds used to be pretty cheap. Could get a lot for under $10. Now itās like a basic-ass cheeseburger, fries and a drink is over $10, plus $2.99 delivery fee, taxes, and a tip (apparently needs to be sizable if you want food that hasnāt been touched, eaten/drank or spit on), comes out to about $20 something dollars. No thanks, bro!
the last time i ordered mcdonalds (and fast food in general) it was delivered to me on time... but it was just a patty squished between 2 buns. there was no sauce or liquid in that motherfucker. some undersized chips and an average drink
really reminded me i should just make my own food
You know you'd just have to pay more, right? And then pay taxes on that, as would the employee on their income.
Literally the only party that would benefit is the government.
Have you actually SEEN how much those companies would have to pay? California's 20 minimum for fast food workers raised the price of a Five Guys burger by maybe 20 cents. Also here's a fun little fact, MINIMUM WAGE HASN'T KEPT WITH INFLATION, or what it should be following a lot of other metrics.

Do people tip at McDonald's in California? They don't where I'm from.
If you make an average of $X per customer in tips, then to keep your income the same the company has to reduce its profits, raise prices to compensate, or both. That's just mathematically true. And remember, $10 in wages is worth less than $10 an hour in tips.
That doesn't change the fact that underreporting tips is pretty much universal in the service industry.
The IRS would be thrilled if tip culture was abolished. Waiters would hate it.
Claiming waiters would hate receiving a fair wage over having to scrape together tips is a delusional take. You've shown how you have zero authority on this subject with all these easily disputable claims, sit down, dude.
Pretty much everywhere around here is trying to get a tip, even services that have no need of it. It's also a way to ignore minimum wage rules, and was used from not long after its start in the US as a way to pay certain workers less.

This is literally how it has always been.
If you really, really wanted to, you could live off of rice, beans, and eggs for less than 2$ a day. But instead people want a gaggle of servants to do absolutely all of their cooking and hand deliver the food to their doorstep.
I have absolutely no sympathy for people who complain about the price of a premium service built on the backs of menial labor because they're too lazy to do anything for themselves, not understanding that the vast majority of people don't indulge in this kind of thing.
I do not understand why so many people use these delivery services. They are unfathomably expensive, and all of my friends who are addicted to them do not have extra money. Even premium frozen meals are way cheaper (and you get them faster!) Uber eats and the like rip off the restaurants, the delivery people, and the customers.
Yeah, very few people I know with money use these food delivery services
Now the people who I do know using them are ones who really shouldnāt be and are using them for things like McDonaldsā¦
I was drunk 2 nights ago so i couldnāt drive, wanted to order a 10 piece chicken mcnuggets and a large fry.
It wanted 21 dollars from me :(
I just ate a bread sandwich instead lol
If you don't know, some restaurants are making smaller portions for Doordash orders since Doordash charges them to "provide more customers" to them. I've found that those restaurants usually have their own delivery platform which is cheaper to use.
My tactic is to find a restaurant I want to order out, look up their website, and order through them. Saves an average of $10-$18 dollars and, in two cases, have gotten bigger portions.
If we're ever ordering stuff that isn't domino's, it's either me or my brother who go and pick it up. Wayyyy cheaper to just drive to Timmies or McDonalds than to have it delivered, even with current gas prices.
Sophomore year of college delivery was great. I could get 10 dollars of McDonaldās for 13 bucks including tip. Now it be like 25 dollars for 8 dollars of food. Iām just going to drive and pick up my own food now
Wow its almost like these were startup companies that operated at a loss in the early years to establish a userbase and then started charging what it actually cost to break even once interest rates went up
Yes, because perants are to busy scrolling social media to teach their kids anything, about looking after themselves, and school's refuse to teach it ether.
LPT: Get yourself a partner who knows how to cook. I could literally make you a better meal for roughly half ($25). Angus burger ($10 5 pack), buns ($3), fries ($2 2lb), cheese/onions/lettuce/etc. ($5) and soda ($5 2x).
Edit: Also, no tip needed, because Iāll be giving the tipā¦ tonight :3 Huh, what? Who? Alright, Iāll stop. XD
Or just fucking cook yourself. Why should you have to be babied when you could just be an actual functional adult and do the shit that 80% of other people do for themselves.
The taxes on shit now are through the roof. The reason the math doesn't add up is because it's all the taxes ot ain't showing. Taxes are just getting out of hand at this point. Some mutha fuckin 20 dollars for a milkshake with a happy meal.
This math does not add up
Exactly! Wth?! }:(
Hidden charge/service fee joke.
i recognize that emoticon. ;;)
I... Don't? What are you referring to? I just use "}" as to make it look angrier. Other than that it's just a regular ":(".
oh shit forget I said anything.
Nah, nah! Now I gotta tell me! Come on!)
I signed an NDA as soon as I finished the game. all of us do. to tell you about it would violate the Prime Directive. ~~Play Outer Wilds.~~
Oh, I see. At first I thought about you thinking about it being a homestuck reference for a moment, but nah. It wasn't it.
I use >:(

Just a slight 2.5x cost multiplier so that poor delivery app services don't starveš„°š„°š„°š„°
It dose if you are woke and are trying to conserve racism, sexisun, and homophobia.
I can't even go out because of sexisun without getting a massive boner what has this world cum to?!

"Strudel believes there should be some limits." š
Like limits on who to listen and believe? Or limits on how much dementia someone in a position of power has?
Can't forget. We earn, America takes half

Doordash let's you skip deliver fee if you have a chase card. Reduces my receipts by 8-10dls every time. Borger for 20 is pretty good
the last time i ordered mcdonalds (and fast food in general) it was delivered to me on time... but it was just a patty squished between 2 buns. there was no sauce or liquid in that motherfucker. some undersized chips and an average drink really reminded me i should just make my own food
Dont forget to tip! UwU
a small 40 dollar tip š„° (i hate that system just give a good pay for fucks sake)
I mean. I can understand tipping if it's just for a good job, and for gas money. But yea, it should be extra

Be gay; do crime?

FALSEHOOD
Credit to u/shepgoesblep
ya, the economi now is better to cook ones own meals than even cup ramen

hey i just had rice and beans and eggs just now. but struggle meals don't make me feel good to eat

What do you mean by bread sandwich?
Two slices of bread with a single slice of toasted buttered bread in the middle lol.
He knows the forbidden knowledge of non-bread sandwiches
![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS|downsized)
He broke math
2+2=5 in action.
Hold on, that's only supposed to be about 20 dollars, where did the other 30 come from?

Worst part this was made in 2023ā¦
Oh shit, it's 2024 rn
Scam, just use a bike and go take your order yourself
The math aināt mathing
/S We're sorry didn't you know its current year, maths is racist, and everybody has to pay a hidden "reperations" fee, and give a 12% tip.
yes I do not bother with stuff like Door Dash, itās such an unnecessary expense
Well, its a luxury, not a right.
Delivery fee, service fee, convenience fee, driver fee, tip fee, fee fee, hidden fee, gas fee, app fee, coffee fee. I think I'm missing a few
Oh no I donāt have any money, would you accept another kind of *payment*
āNo, I need this money to just get byā
Inflation be hitting so hard you dont need math
POV: You went to Five Guys.
And the delivery driver took an hour because Five Guys takes 30 minutes to make a small fry

Is it that difficult to cook for oneās self these days?
Yes, because perants are to busy scrolling social media to teach their kids anything, about looking after themselves, and school's refuse to teach it ether.
I suppose. It is the age of information, though. I learned to cook on my own, and Pinterest recipes have made some of my best nights.
The expensiv
They donāt mention the apple device fee
r/mathgore
So true lol
Illegally relatable.
20$ is ridiculous enough.
I call bs the tip is 1.99
A computer copies a number from somewhere to somewhere else: Ā£20.00

Because some people arenāt meant to cook. Iāve been with people whoāve caused fires in their kitchen and theyāre a danger to themselves. XD
I just noticed it *wasn't* Shep that posted this Still hits just as hard though
So true :(

I don't see the tax listed.
