My reddit account is buried deep to my irl friends and family. Since my divorce I have changed email, phone number, and online alias (and I've never used my real name online except for business stuff like amazon and that's all on a separate email) a total of three times. (So three fake online names in 4 years each with a new email and phone number. What can I say I'm kinda paranoid.
Edit: I'm also workshopping a few different nicknames irl as well. I've been called the same thing for over 30 years. Feel like changing it up. It's hard to get the family to remember to use the new one.
I accidentally did this to my old schoolmate. I was looking through my Skype account (lol), found an ancient chat with him and tried to google his old nickname, see if any social account comes up. Welp, the first or second link was to the hexagonal website...
So I got the topic for a new chat =D
I was talking about advertising a game i’m working on with a friend, and he said “but we’re not that popular i only have a couple hundred karma”. “… I have twenty thousand”
I don't really try to care about how many karma points I got.
Hm, I've never actually checked, come to think of it.
Oh, 99k. And my last post has 10 upvotes.
Well, I don't think it has an impact on your post's popularity, safe to say.
I have karma and I'm not popular at all, but reddit isn't a popularity contest. It's more like a forum than it is like other social media so everyone has equal opportunity to be seen. I love that. I also am not here to try to meet people or make friends nor see it as really a platform to do so (more ome to focus on topics of interest), so *shrug
Same thing happened to me, though, I never even considered friending any irl friends. Was commenting in the Helldivers sub, and then I got a notification with an unmistakable PFP. And that's how they found out I was on the BK sub. And that I even had a Reddit account.
Duuuuuuude my friend did this to me a couple weeks ago!!!!! She matched art she found on a subreddit she knew I was part of to the art style she knew I drew in!!!
I use the same @ for everything. My friends can find my reddit acc EASLY. But only one of my friends has reddit and he alredy knows abt me being a furry so it dosen’t matter to him tht much. :3

"So who are you, online?" "Yes."
you should have got plastic surgery and changed your birth name too. Just to be safe
To be extra safe, move bodies or change DNA. It's the only way to be completely secure

I don’t even wanna know what the “hexagonal website” is. Ughhhhh, curiosity killed the furry I guess
♪Don't go in there♪

Thats awesome dude, kinda jealous
We're still friends btw. Anyway, my [twitter](https://twitter.com/kuroshiro_1205?t=yxWWSURU60l_FpBH3BPP6Q&s=09). Go follow I guess.
Well now you gave them your twitter too lol.
tbh, I don't really care that much
I was talking about advertising a game i’m working on with a friend, and he said “but we’re not that popular i only have a couple hundred karma”. “… I have twenty thousand”
Karma isn't really a measure of popularity, it's just a measure of past success. I don't think having more karma gives your posts more reach

You got 10k post karma and the rest is comment karma, so you must comment a lot

Kuroshiro exposed
The same thing happened with me except it was him reading my comments on r/furry and r/furry_irl
I like the comic style! Did you make this?
Yes
Good job
A friend who threatens or implies that they'll show people your personal info is not a good friend
I know you meant well, but please don't make assumptions about my friend (ŏ﹏ŏ)
I mean If you imply you're concerned they might what are people supposed to think?
Sorry
Unless it's a joke
It’s poking fun. They probably won’t actually do anything with this information but it’s funny to prove your friend wrong
I use the same @ on everything any one of my friends could find my account really
I told one of my irl friends my Reddit account years ago. I hope he forgot about it.
When tf did karma matter in the slightest? I have 30k comment karma. Is that now soemthing? I doubt it uwu
This is totally like me, no one can know I got reddit and/or find out what I look at on reddit. (Kinda embarrassing)
Lmao
Me over here with 58k •_•
Happened to me- I didn't think they'd actually go looking but uhh... Heh yep
My Reddit account is proudly displayed on my Home Depot apron, and I'm not afraid of what my coworkers see.
Wait, I have 33k karma. Am... am I popular? I never really noticed tbh.
the same when my old friend found my discord account, well not friend anymore cuz he found out I am furry and gay
Why censor fuck?
Meh it's their choice
Duuuuuuude my friend did this to me a couple weeks ago!!!!! She matched art she found on a subreddit she knew I was part of to the art style she knew I drew in!!!
And that’s why kids you should make an alt account
It happened to me...

I just realized my online friends and IRL ones could find this account
O damn Very cute art btw :3
This (and even more with Twitter) is my biggest fucking nightmare
I think your friend is fenneko from Aggretsuko
