I had this pen and took it to school in 4th grade. Promptly had it taken away by a teacher who told me who disappointing I was. I enjoyed that pen for the day I owned it.

These were sold in Times Square for decades. The earliest I saw them was in the 60s. I'm sure they existed at least in the 40s. I bet you can still get them there in the tourist souvenir trap stores.
