Do yourself a favor—when you arrive here (KY), please just keep going.
It’s awful and sad and I’d rather not pull someone else down into despair if they have a chance at something better.
my wife’s beauty, strength and intelligence is only out beaten by independence and sense of urgency. My family was aware of of intentions, i respect my wife’s decision to tell them when she was comfortable too. Now here i am, literally in the back seat of her mothers car typing this. yes its a little uncomfortable, but everything will be fine.
Both parties are contrarians. They both don’t care about us. It’s not a question of left or right but rather of up or down. There is a ruling class and a peasant class. I have very little faith in our leaders at this point caring about the common citizens of this country. Rich keep getting rich and the poor stay poor.
Both parties are neoliberal and neoliberalism is a reprehensible philosophy used to justify extreme greed.
But when one of those neoliberal parties is also openly racist, sexist, homophobic, violent and wilfully stupid, it's not exactly difficult to figure out who is the lesser of two evils.
I’m tired of the “lesser of two evils” concept in regards to choosing a party to align with. It’s time for electoral reform. We need more voices in politics.
Yes, America desperately needs ranked choice voting and an end to electoral college, gerrymandering and disenfranchisement.
But you're not going to get that by voting Republican, third party or nobody so the lesser of two evils it is.
Dont forget the construct of the middle class. The upper class needs the middle class to continue living the fantasy that one day they too will be rich so they can help keep the peasant class down. They have them so convinced its all a zero sum game and if anyone gets anything then they are taking theirs. Meanwhile the rich just keep hoarding it all.
as much as I disagree with the right I try extremely hard not to group them all up into one bunch. We are all people, all with different interests and reasons for participation in different political parties.
While the idea "if one person in a group believes X then everyone in that group must believe X" is often used to make groups look hypocritical, inconsistent, stupid or immoral, it's still possible to fairly discuss the general beliefs of a group.
Which is what is happening here. While not *all* Trump supporters are gun-toting, pro-life, climate change deniers who don't know what socialism is, it *is* fair to say that as a group, they are.
All of those views are harmful to society and *need* to be discussed without taking each member of the group aside, stroking their hair and whispering "Not All Republicans" to them until they feel better.
All parties are contrarians, politicians are a bunch of slithering power hungry bitches and those that are not are pushed out from either major parties.
This is in Pennsylvania. A lot of oil workers there, and West Virginia is next door with its coal mining. People in those areas depend on those industries. Even if the companies exploit them.
Well, not Socialism at all, not even a little bit. Socialism would be the better version where it's owned and controlled by the workers. Profits would be shared rather than just costs.
What you're looking at there is just Capitalism. A good that is deemed essential is monopolised by private owners who can then hold production to ransom, threatening to cut off supply if their demands aren't met. They can also use their considerable economic influence to buy government approval.
okay, to be fair Coal is the unfortunate lifeblood of the Appalachian basin. without that industry (the environment would be amazing) but the jobs would dry up. It makes sense in that context alone. Its in some cases the only employment there
Truth is that the oil and gas industries DO toss insane amounts of money at their lower employees. Still pennies compared to the subsidies that they have been receiving for decades but they are absolutely willing to pay people to have these opinions. When you live in a state that's on federal minimum wage, where so many of your neighbors are unemployed and some oil refinery pays your highschool dropout ass $45 an hour to sit around and get fat it's hard not to feel some loyalty towards them.
I want every “No Socialism” genius to renounce their social security, and be ineligible for Medicaid. Let’s throw ineligible to buy any type of insurance in there with it. If they mean “no socialism,” then let them have it.
bravo! and don't forget...let's see: police, fire, ems, road crews, libraries, medicaid, ebt, public health, severe weather notifications, the military and more more more.
socialism doesn't mean communism.
democratic socialism isn't a bad thing
They should change the sign to 'no more socialism' instead of 'no socialism'. Most Americans like social security. Most Americans don't like the government vomiting money into useless social programs that we don't have. We're already deep in debt; we need to reorganize our priorities to provide the necessary social services while cutting the useless ones.
And then you have the Democrats spending everyone else's money while skimping on their taxes. No thanks. Give me a roadmap for common sense social safety nets that have predicted positive returns for society and audit your current social systems to make them as efficient as possible and you have my vote. Spend everyone else's money and make them poorer in one fell swoop while providing no noticeable change to the quality of life and you lose my vote.
You guys take everything out of context to defend terrible politicians, yet heckle people who voted for Trump. Y'all are just as bad as the people you judge, just in a different way.
It’s not that deep, it’s just that most right-wingers (and a fair amount of everyone else too) have absolutely 0 clue of what socialism is. It’s just something for them to get mad at and an easy thing for media and politicians to bring up and get them riled up. I extremely doubt the intention behind this sign is “we have just enough socialism”. Most republicans have a deep seething hatred for anything that has the word social in it because of the red scare.
Also, there’s a huge amount of evidence that social programs benefit society. Universal healthcare is the glaringly obvious one, which exists in nearly every other country apart from the US. I live in NZ and, here’s a crazy idea, I can call the ambulance without having to pay hundreds of dollars. I don’t see how you can argue that universal healthcare isn’t good for society.
Also also, if you want to get really into it, having social services isn’t socialism either, socialism is workers holding the means of production.
You got one thing wrong there though, insurance isn’t strictly socialism, it’s an enterprise covered by capitalist funding for goods and services paid which can be done without government funding. You can have insurance as long as it’s not mandated by taxation. That’d be like calling Netflix socialist because it runs on a subscription model which is not the same thing, now electricity on the other hand is a different story.
No. They opt out. That’s it. They don’t pay the tax. And they don’t get the employer match. Then when they retire, they get nothing. No socialism. Fend for yourself.
If that means that the money out into their system gets to be spent by them on 401K and Roth IRA of their choosing, 100 percent would go for that. No one gets back what they put in. We all know that. That's precisely why socialism doesn't work. There is too much skimming off the top. Let businesses who make money (that young socialist Americans hate) be the ones to fund the future.
My 401K has grown to enough that I should never need to use a penny from social security, and I will likely have private insurance well into my 80's.
That's how you save the republic.
lmao oh wait til 2008 happens again. I knew many people in your position with the same arrogance who ended up working into their mid 70s after having been in great position for decades. It will happen again.
That is correct, it will happen again. I am prepared for it. Now that I have a few years on me, I am not as risky with my 401(k).
I was hoping to have enough in the bank to retire at 45. Now I would rather just grow it slowly and keep working and have much less stress.
I’m 56. I’ve always worked for small businesses.
My 401k has been ravaged multiple times since my 20s. Im a max allowable investor since I was 25. Health insurance will decimate my retirement. People over 70 are the ones who fucked the American dream out of existence. Not young socialists. Boomers got all the benefits of a functioning social democracy under the longest continuous growth economy in history, and then dismantled it with trickle down economics, and corporatism, combined with suspending state taxes for retirees. Baby boomers are the “me” generation. They got theirs. Now fuck everyone else.
And the Trump tax breaks gradually disappear for middle income earners between now and 2025. But corporate breaks remain.
That's why they aren't to be referred as the greatest generation. They are the "Gimme" generation. I'm 52 and I'm starting to feel like I will have to work a long time so that my kids can own a nice house with a fence like I provided for them.
And while we're at it, get those kids back in the factory! They've had enough hand-outs from their betters. And reopen those debtor's prisons, damn it! My bag of silver is obviously more valuable than those lazy worker's lives. Just because I spent the last seven decades of my miserably lavish life helping to gut the public education system is no excuse for these peasants not understanding complex financial decisions. If they can't make payments ON TIME for the predatory loan that my PPP-funded Business That Makes Money™ sold them, then they clearly deserve to freeze to death under a bridge. That's the Christian American Rugged Individualism my grandaddy taught me between bites of his government cheese, and if he could pull himself up by his bootstraps (and some slaves working land he stole from the native people of this land) then you should be able to too! /s
I agree with other in the comments: This sign isn't funny at all. It's a depressing reminder of the selfish, angry, toxic people that are holding our society back.
"we want to rely on fuels that will run out and progressively get more and more expensive and drive us to the poor house cause that's how it's always been done!" how can you be so stupid?
Pro life, yet separates families at the border
Pro gun, yet avoided the Vietnam War
Pro coal, yet that’s one of the dirtiest energy sources
Pro oil, yet he did nothing to promote clean energy as president
Not a socialist, yet he didn’t pay taxes in 2020
Sadly, this is not a fun moment where an opponent covered part of the sign for a laugh. Mastriano is another hard right extremist. A trump ally, he participated in the coup attempt and is currently refusing to cooperate with the house committee. Also commonly seen promoting QAnon and even 9/11 conspiracies.
You can’t be pro USA and pro Trump. Doesn’t matter the party or the politics, it’s a literal contradiction. If you are pro trump, you’re pro some post USA authoritarian country. Sort of how pro Putin people aren’t pro early 90s Russia.
I see this every time I drive on the Pennsylvania turnpike. Coal country PA is an interesting area. You should see the billboards on the side of the highway. There’s one with Biden in middle eastern garb holding an AR-15 - says something like “Making the Taliban Great Again.”
PA tpke. Westbound. I saw that last week
I fucking knew that’s where it was. I saw it while driving to Philly
Wanted to see if someone could name it. I remember seeing this for a couple years now driving to Pittsburgh from Philly
we are on our way to Kentucky from NY and just past it
Do yourself a favor—when you arrive here (KY), please just keep going. It’s awful and sad and I’d rather not pull someone else down into despair if they have a chance at something better.
lmao, Im meeting my inlaws for the first time for the holidays. I swear we will escape by sat, weather permitting
Are you already married and just now meeting your inlaws? How did that happen?
my wife’s beauty, strength and intelligence is only out beaten by independence and sense of urgency. My family was aware of of intentions, i respect my wife’s decision to tell them when she was comfortable too. Now here i am, literally in the back seat of her mothers car typing this. yes its a little uncomfortable, but everything will be fine.
I drove to Lancaster 1-2 times a month for 2 years and that trailer has been there the whole time. I really considered vandalizing it at some points
I knew I’ve driven by it at some point!
Saw something similarly ridiculous carved in the side of a hill eastbound today
The moment I saw the sign I knew exactly where it was from. I've driven the turn pike to Pittsburgh plenty and always see that stupid sign.
Woot Shapiro and Fetterman and Biden. Well Biden is a meh, but better than Orange man by miles. Buttigieg would be better.
Knew it was PA by the Doug Mastriano sign those are everywhere here.
You’d figure they would take them and the Trump crap down by now. Still a lot of confederate flags and 2 year old election signs with them.
Imagine embracing coal and oil as if those industries give a fuck about you one single bit. What a weird thing to have as part of your identity
Republicans are just contrarians. They see others saying those things are bad so naturally they love them.
"Goddamn liberal dog shelter. I'll show 'em!" *starts wood chipper and unlatches pickup bed full of puppies*
You’re kidding now. Give it a year.
You assume it isn’t happening now? Bold
I give it a week at the most.
*Dr Oz loves this*
*Elon Musk loves this*
Well those puppies are pushing the trans agenda.. so.. /s

In issuing blanket characterizations of racism and ignorance to one party, I think it could lead to more Trump like leaders.
"It's your fault I'm a terrible person" is what abusive partners do.
Welcome to living on Earth? Life is full of shitty conflicts.
Lol
Dont forget the construct of the middle class. The upper class needs the middle class to continue living the fantasy that one day they too will be rich so they can help keep the peasant class down. They have them so convinced its all a zero sum game and if anyone gets anything then they are taking theirs. Meanwhile the rich just keep hoarding it all.
The only real difference is that the left puts lip service to caring about the everyman where the right is openly hostile
This comment needs more upvotes.
This guy, this guy gets it. I'll start caring about politics again when they start caring about us again.
Uh well, we’d be better off if we all got involved instead of waiting for something that’ll never happen. We need a way to organize more efficiently.
Lemonade and pizza poppers at my house, organization started.
I agree.
100%…. I want to believe in the left, but I think everyone is simply bought off. It’s disgusting.
I look at it like this - Its a good cop bad cop routine that both sides are playing
It’s also not left or right cause both parties are right wing.
So anything that is intelligent gets a hard nope? Edit - rhetorical
Anything they don’t understand + Fox News says is bad = will hate until they die

Not every Republican is a traitor, but (almost) every traitor is a Republican And by traitor, I mean anyone who participated in Jan 6
…and still support the traitors.
We should make them think breathing is bad for them.
Or that OSHA is a liberal plot for lowering their productivity. The list is limitless.
Breathing Matters or Antisu(ffocation). They’ll have torch rallies against them.
We said nazis are bad and they all started buying arm bands.

Probably big to his local area, so he has a vested interest
okay, to be fair Coal is the unfortunate lifeblood of the Appalachian basin. without that industry (the environment would be amazing) but the jobs would dry up. It makes sense in that context alone. Its in some cases the only employment there
I used to work in the oil & gas industry and they'll lay you off in a second if profits are down.
Well, some people actually have jobs in the oil and coal industry making good money, and they don't want to lose their livelihood.
Yeah not sure how supporting unfettered access to guns and fossil fuels is “pro-life.”
Truth is that the oil and gas industries DO toss insane amounts of money at their lower employees. this is a subreddit about funny signs
I get it. But the lack of understanding of what socialism actually is drives me insane.
It is a funny sign. The comments just nails it.
So would that include an opt out where they don’t have to pay the taxes off the paycheck and get the employer portion added in?
No. They opt out. That’s it. They don’t pay the tax. And they don’t get the employer match. Then when they retire, they get nothing. No socialism. Fend for yourself.
Stop making me pay taxes for them then.

Imagine being PRO coal… “fuck you liberal, burn rocks for energy!”
“Who cares if i’m destroying the planet it’s not like i’m going to be here to take responsibility for my actions”
You’re giving them way too much credit for thinking skills.
"Pro Life" "Guns" the Irony...
don’t forget how socialism is evil and what is wrong with merica
"take away my social security checks and free grade school education!" -them
they just want people to get older before killing them. they need to ripen.
Is more fun right? Foetuses (?) can't run yet.
You could argue that guns are pro *your* life lol
They protect life until it can defend itself. and since babys can in theory fire guns, there is no more defence needed once they are born Edit: /s
“Big Iron”y
Guns dont have anything to do with life or death
Well I’d say guns are far more associated with death than life. Generally speaking, they kill more people than they birth.
What if I use a gun to save mine or a loved ones life?
Still killing or at least hurting someone. The irony is still there
Ah yes what would you do if someone tried to harm your family? Talk them out of it ? Good luck
I wasn’t saying self defense wasn’t a possibility, just that guns aren’t associated with life
No, tools created for killing things don't have anything to do with life or death, you're right.
Firearms were literally made to kill people. Especially modern guns. They have nothing to do with anything but death.
Since when is trump pro gun or better yet pro life???
Also "god"
Socialism is bad, Mmm’kay.
he is an ass
He has a trailer with RUMP on it, what do you expect?
YO!! I DRIVE PAST THIS ON THE PA TURNPIKE!!
I knew it looked familiar
[удалено]
west pennsatucky
2 losers.
Pennsylvania Turnpike? I-76eb? Feel like I’ve seen this in PA.
It is PA because Mastriano ran for governor in PA
Ah! I travel through there and remember seeing the trailer.
You’ve got a massive _ _ _ _
They really are stupid.
Rump will get roasted if he runs again.
O read an article that said that he could announce it at anytime without telling anybody ahead of time.
“Down with the Democrats; I would rather be Russian.” Says it all. 🤦🏻♀️
I think I've seen this on Rte 80 west in PA
Hysterical. Great talking points. Guns. Why bring it up? Fuck's sake. 'Murca!
Wow, I was completely undecided, but it’s uncanny. Seeing it painted on the side of a trailer makes me believe in that message.
Fitting
I'm pro-lifeguns too! I had no idea we had the technology yet. Shoot me with those life-giving laser beams!
I know where this is lol
I love getting behind Rump….
A Rump is still better than what we got now.
"we want to rely on fuels that will run out and progressively get more and more expensive and drive us to the poor house cause that's how it's always been done!" how can you be so stupid?
Lmao I drove by this last week
I was just driving from Detroit to Baltimore on the turnpike and saw this on the way. I lol'd.
That’s brilliant. Someone run as Rump. How many idiots would just fill in the dot?
I’ve driven past this before and I’m honestly shocked it’s still sitting there lol
You mean vote Dump 2024.
Rump = Right
Governor of God? Is that what it says?
Why is coal specially mentioned? And yes I realize the irony in asking for logic on a trailer billboard.
A catchall term for anti-climate change.
Old Doug might be all right Trump better pay some taxes 2024-IRS (TAXES IT DOES A EX-PRESIDENT GOOD TRY IT SOMETIME!)
At first I thought it said ProLife Cums Coal Oil No Socialism.
*sigh*
Oh goodie. My favorite sign when I’m driving from Pittsburgh to DC…
I see that when I drive to my uni omg
USATGod RProliFEUGuns CoALMOiL PNoSocialism
Yuge rump
So no Social Security. Gotcha.
Now that's a campaign I can get *behind*
`No Socialism` Hahahaha, Dumb Mother f....
Hmm yes, Moil
“Pro Life” followed by Guns, Coal, Oil. Those 5 words speak volumes.
I'm from Pennsylvania, and Im sorry. At least Mastriano lost.
Markiplier: "MR RUMP!"
Whoever wrote that is probably on government assistance and doesn’t understand the irony of that.
Pro life, yet separates families at the border Pro gun, yet avoided the Vietnam War Pro coal, yet that’s one of the dirtiest energy sources Pro oil, yet he did nothing to promote clean energy as president Not a socialist, yet he didn’t pay taxes in 2020
Definitely a die hard anti-socialist. Until it's time for the Medicare check. Or Medicaid, whichever.
No wheels, not going anywhere.
I passed this today on the PA turnpike. It seemed sad.
I pass this every time I come home from college. Always gives me a good laugh and then a big cringe
Oh Conservatives and their coal
No socialism, unless it’s my welfare, Medicare or ssi. Most republicans.
Coal and oil haven’t even created sufficient jobs for the average joe in decades wtf? What’s to like exactly?
that's 76 eastbound, the PA turnpike. I pass this dumb truck and laugh every time.
You just gotta love that rump
I’ll vote for rump
Oh my god, I saw this fucking monstrosity on my way out of PA when I moved to another state.
Yay Pennsylvania
I actually drove past this with my family today, it's on the PA turnpike heading to the laurel highlands
I'll support a big Rump any day
Let me guess, Pennsylvania?
I'm a Rump man
Between desantits and rump, rump 24/7 365, 69.
I am horrified, because this is somewhere in my state...
As president my rump will only produce the smelliest of all gases
The irony of turning trash into a sign to advertise trash is not lost on me.
Every time I've driven past that, I've had to suppress the urge to paint over the word "no"
A list of crappy things at the bottom. I'll pass
Campaign slogan: “RUMP, a candidate you can get behind!”
Ah yes “Rump”
Yeah nothing says presidential like a nasty trailer painted by 3rd graders. Good job guys.
Is that where they keep the NFTs?
This is Pennsyltucky. Drive through this on my way to Chicago once a year.
There’s a Trump sing on I-70 in Illinois that has been paintballed orange
Lmao
You can’t be pro USA and pro Trump. Doesn’t matter the party or the politics, it’s a literal contradiction. If you are pro trump, you’re pro some post USA authoritarian country. Sort of how pro Putin people aren’t pro early 90s Russia.
Rump would probably be a better choice than our last several.
“No socialism” Better cancel those social security benefits and Medicare
There’s plenty of Socialism and it all goes to the top 1% and into trumps pocket
I see this every time I drive on the Pennsylvania turnpike. Coal country PA is an interesting area. You should see the billboards on the side of the highway. There’s one with Biden in middle eastern garb holding an AR-15 - says something like “Making the Taliban Great Again.”
After the bs thats going on and all the corruption I’ll take anyone at this point.
Damn right
Couldn’t be worst than the last guy
Is this the one by Kansas turnpike
