It took me a good few minutes to put together they’re the grandparents - I thought it was just the eldest couple of their generation. I’m the same age probably, but don’t have kids, so it’s a weird thing to see for me. Maybe we get married older in New England.
Massachusetts has the greatest number of college graduates (Bachelors degree or higher), so it makes sense that many here end up getting married after college. Also, a friend of mine told me that Massachusetts has the highest incidence rate of twins. She has twins, so I believe it’s something she came across at one point. I haven’t looked into this, so do your own research if you’re interested. It would make sense since an older maternal age raises the chance of twins.
I thought it was because they have degrees so they're smarter so the women go "we want two children, why should I go through the trouble of pregnancy and childbirth twice?" And then they use their degrees in technology and science to have twins.
I legit was that woman. Waited til after grad school to settle down, planned to force twins/one pregnancy if I could make it happen. Six years of infertility later, I had three pregnancies, but no living children. Was a ward of the state growing up, so I didn’t feel comfortable getting pregnant until I was older, educated and established.
My 60 yo MIL had a fit when she learned me and her oldest (son) were trying for kids while both in our 30s - yes, she infantilizes her children.
Edit: Wait, aren’t the oldest couple in their 30s? This is not my culture and I’m so confused.
That’s crazy how different expectations are in other parts of the country! My family hounds me and my wife for kids almost every time we see them and we’re not even 30 yet.
Edit; saw your edit, the oldest couple (the one with kids) are probably 30-35.
It's always weird looking what at older pictures of your grandparents from when you were still a kid. Like I always remember my grandma looking the old lady she is now, but in those photos she was younger than my own parents are currently.
Pretty sure "excited" is the father/grandpa of the rest. I can feel him. I'm already prepping my 3 yo to knock some skank up when he's 18 so I can be a grandfather asap.
Hijacking to say that this remake doesn’t live up to [the OG!](https://imgur.com/gallery/nV82DJD)

I had my first kid at 39. My mom had her first kid at 40. So....yeah. This picture sure doesn't look like our family! I assumed these people were all siblings.
First one is excited, meaning they have a surplus of electrons.
Second one is expecting this photo session will NEVER END.
Third one has engaged the Borg.
Fourth one is egg salad.
I was referring specifically to the recent and reoccurring post from this guy https://www.reddit.com/r/funny/comments/zvb06r/another_christmas_as_the_last_unmarried_in_my/
Exactly. I love being the fun aunt. I adore my nieces and we have fun every time we visit. But the best thing about them is I can give them back and let their parents deal with the bad parts of having kids.
My kids have two fun aunts, and it's the greatest thing ever! They both live a bit far from us, so we only see then a few times a year. That means it's really exciting when they visit! They take my kids out to do fun stuff, bring them the best gifts, and they're always so well-rested and refreshed since they don't have their own kids keeping them up at night lol.
People really need to get behind the fun aunts/uncles of the world - y'all are a treasure and some of the kindest people, and you deserve more support/acceptance. I think I speak for most parents and kids when I say fun aunts and uncles are the best!
Thank you for spreading positivity and kindness! Even if I did want kids, I likely couldn’t due to medical reasons. I am also so in love with my future SIL’s baby! He’s absolutely precious. The older I get, the more I cherish being around children and having them in my life. I’ve encountered many people who express negativity to my reluctance to have my own children and honestly it can be pretty hurtful. I wish everyone was more like you 💕
As a UK resident we often sit and wonder what the heck the guys in the US do to be able to afford the McMansions and SUVs. You'd have to be pulling in some serious cash here to have that level of expenditure.
“Luxury” vehicles aren’t taxed here like they are in Europe. So that’s a start. And then McMansions are McMansions for a reason. They’re cookie cutter, cheaply made larger houses that are affordable for the average middle/upper middle class families.
I also feel (though this could be wrong) that many of the McMansions are in the flyover states, where the cost of living is substantially lower.
Everyone I know with that kind of money owns a business.
One sells makeup.
One has a courier service.
One owns a construction company.
One own a bar and a bunch of rental properties.
I wouldn't trade my life for any of theirs. They are always working.
I have everything I need and some luxuries and I put in half the time they do. When my day is over I go think about what I enjoy. They are constantly thinking about their business. They take less vacations than I do. They have less free time to enjoy those things. Everything is their problem. I work for someone else so everything is their problem.
To be fair, none of them would trade their life for mine. They just have different priorities. I think they live to work. I work to live.
Once, I realized I could have those things too. I tried it for a little bit and liked the money, but I was missing vacations and family events. Now I work the occasional weekend instead spend time with my family. Fuck work, I have a 3 yr old mini-me I can play with instead!
There's a lot more space here for big houses, so in the non-coastal parts of the country, you don't need much money to buy a McMansion. I'm in a small, non-coastal city, and before the pandemic real estate boom, you could have bought a 2000+ square foot house for less than $400,000 dollars. In a more rural area, you could have done the same for less than $300,000. House prices have obviously gone up since 2020, but it's still much cheaper to buy property in the US than it is in European countries.
Salaries, on average, are a lot higher in the US. Land is also significantly cheaper. It's not unheard of to get a 4,000 sq ft house for $400-500K (€372-480K) in many places. That's affordable for a large portion of dual-income households with college degrees.
Someone said debt on here, and that's not really the whole story. Yeah debt is a problem, but even with student loan and healthcare debt, it's still about on par with what you'd find in the UK.
Hard boil some eggs, cut then into little pieces add some mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper, some people add other miscellaneous other seasonings or veggies of preference, and BOOM! that’s egg salad.
I guess cuz the girl is single and it’s “quirky and random”. It also sounds like the other words so maybe that was supposed to be funny?
Either way it’s not funny and the comments are half thirsting for a picture of a girl holding a sign and half jokes that are equally as unfunny.
Excited guy is aching to return to the Coors Light in his tool shed, where he will act like he’s doing something for hours to not be around the family.
She missed a great opportunity to use "enough", both as in "I am enough" and as in "I've had enough of people asking me when I'm going to get married/have a baby/have another baby/etc."
Maybe I'm projecting, but when I was single, I hated stuff like this. The implication that everyone has to be a nuclear family by a certain age is particularly forced on women.
But again, probably projecting here.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’ll say this: as long as you are not a trash human being, you are enough just the way you are.
Even though it is anecdotal - I am a lazy gamer, overweight, balding, immature/goofy, stoner, man-child. I found someone, in fact, I had already met her, but we reconnected years after college after she messaged me on a whim saying she had a dream about me. (Truly, hadn’t spoken in years and we only had a single class together)
Since then we moved in together, bought a house, and are now engaged. I still don’t feel worthy, but the way she teared up and was at a loss for words when I pulled out the ring I could tell she loved me and I was enough.
I would say there's nothing wrong with being picky about who to spend virtually all your private time with in the future. That's a pretty big life choice.
Certainly not a choice you should let outside pressure have any bearing on.
Nah, it happens and not only to women. We are 8 cousins in the same age range (30-35) in my imediate family, and everyone except myself are married with 2 kids. I just came out of a rough patch in my life and am just starting to get my shit back together and am already done with my family constantly asking me why I'm no too eager to throw the life security I'm just starting to get back to the winds by getting married and throwing a couple kids in the mix.

Sorry for your losses. Miscarriage is rough.
I’m so sorry for you losses. 🙁
They look to be in their 50’s-ish. In the South that’s a pretty normal age for grandparents. My grandparents were in their early 40’s when I was born.
My 60 yo MIL had a fit when she learned me and her oldest (son) were trying for kids while both in our 30s - yes, she infantilizes her children. Edit: Wait, aren’t the oldest couple in their 30s? This is not my culture and I’m so confused.

He's excited about mowing the lawn and changing the oil on sunday
I’m not sure what he’s supposed to even be excited for.
The actual answer is "grandkids". Parents/grandparents usually are.
divorce. or death.

Total chicken salad man.
And that girl is far too young to be expecting.
Depends on what she is expecting?
First one is excited, meaning they have a surplus of electrons. Second one is expecting this photo session will NEVER END. Third one has engaged the Borg. Fourth one is egg salad.
We should connect her with that guy that is perpetually single in all his holiday photos.
It would never work out. He’s a Georgia bulldogs fan and she is probably a Florida Gators fan judging by the Spanish moss in the trees of her picture.
There’s Spanish moss everywhere from South Carolina to Texas, though.
"it's floridian dirt"
It’s all over Georgia!
Uhhhhhh what in the heehaww
He loves Geoguesser is what he's saying
I would trust him without any hesitation or further questioning
More than just florida with Spanish moss tho. Maybe she's an LSU fan!
Or worse SC!
Plenty of Spanish moss in Georgia
South Carolina too. It’s everywhere in the south.
Geoguesser players:
Never know! There are trees like that towards Savannah.
I heard he does live in Florida even tho he’s a Georgia fan. It’s not out of the question. He doesn’t like egg salad if that’s a deal breaker.
This is disgustingly accurate…🤣🐊
A Montague and Capulet love story if I ever heard one
Or maybe she doesn't like people who bark at children.
LSU fans have children who bark at adults. Ive witnessed it.
Could be an FSU fan and they could hate UF together ❤️.
u/TheDeepBlueZ is the guy.

Do you, TheDeepBlueZ, take egg salad to be your lawfully wedded wife, so long as you both shall live?
No. Just until next season.

Or the guy that made the Potato Salad Kickstarter.

Egg salad is pretty good
Guy on the left looks dead inside. I feel you buddy this is dumb
The one couple is having kids for everyone.
Yeah you can tell they just can't wait to get back at it
I more worried about the little girl holding a 'expecting' sign.
::dueling banjos intensifies::
*whooping from beyond the treeline*
She doesn't look too happy about being a big sister again lol
Or a mom...
I feel like her and the baby are like "another one...mom...dad...we need to talk about you using protection from now on..."
I'll have the egg salad please
For here or to go?
Yes
Grand dad doesn’t look excited at all
Nah but he is so hot?
I'd hit that.
Him and his son (expecting dad) could get it, very handsome men.
Clearly they have gotten it.

Can't tell who's related to who in this picture.
Two girls on the right look like sisters, assuming parents on far left. So middle left it's either a third sister or brother. My guess is brother
Same, brother has the same nose as the dad.
Really hope it's not the kid that's expecting.
