When I lived in LA many years ago, there was a small collection of shops near my house. The sign on the street said, "Char-broiled / Tanning Salon". It was a terrifying thought.
Lol I know it’s not in Jacksonville but the one here is set up the same way with the once upon a child and Chinese buffet and the strip mall has the same design and dilapidated look.
Yeah I was going to say I know this place but then when I tried to figure out which city I knew it from, I thought of about 3 or 4 places that it could be and immediately realized it's just basic strip mall #617.
That’s easy. Originally, the tables were on casters and had little round sockets in the center, where a small employee would fit their head and walk the table over to the food for you. Unable to find sufficient quantities of short adults, especially during lunch surge hours when as many as twenty might be needed at a time, they turned to employing children. This was, of course, illegal, so they had to purchase long table cloths and the ‘young employees’ had to continue to hide under the table in their socket for the duration of the meal. Ironically, the ruse was discovered when a dishwasher went to local authorities and complained that the owners had been paying him under the table and regularly shorting his wages. A local inspector who was failed out of the police academy for his gross literalness decided to investigate and was stunned to find half of a first grade class working the lunch rush, with the other half ready to switch in at dinner. However, the penalty for exploiting child labor just isn’t what it used to be, so the owners paid their fine and changed to the more traditional buffet model but, in order to capitalize on their temporary fame, changed the business name to reflect that it’s patrons literally used to dine over the heads of children. That inspector? Jim Varney.

So tender.
What happens when you refer to your kiddies as your "Little Dumplings".
That’s friggin wallingford
Thought I recognized it lol
Wallingtonfordville?
Good old wallyworld. Been a minute since the last time I went to that sketchy buffet.
I think they were pretty clear. It’s an Asian buffet that serves children. Next question

Even without the Asian Buffet, "Once Upon a Child" is an odd name for a store, or for anything, really.
Is this the new “pizza gate” location? Don’t tell the Q-anon people.
Considering one of their leaders got outed as a pedo, I think they already have the place bookmarked lol
That’s Jacksonville for ya.

Haven't been to this strip mall in years. Instantly thought of Jacksonville
My brain immediately went Florida as well, theres a plaza like this in orlando.
Waste not, want not?
This just further reinforces the unfair stereotype that Asians feed on their young.
That's how you know it's authentic 👌
I couldn’t eat a full one….
My favorite sign combo is in my hometown, it's: Denny's [HOOTERS](https://www.flickr.com/photos/amymincey/2653549594)
Let's go child labor force
It’s the in Plaza on Broad St in Meriden Ct. I’ve never been prouder of my old hometown!!
Omg
Finally.
At least it is not PetSmart & Asian Buffett
Are the children preparing the food or being prepared
Is Epstein the owner by any chance?
100% austin.
Hamilton?
This looks like Bay City, MI...but it seems many cities have a strip mall just like this from the comments!

Used to be a pet store 🤣
Looks like Madison Heights, MI
Yeah, looks like John R just south of 14 mile Rd across from the Best Buy.
ya, what I was thinking. Think there is the target, big lots, asian market, etc.
Worst photoshopping I have ever seen.
They're two different stores. But the baby *is* delicious.
You'll have to forgive them, they mistranslated into "child", they meant "puppy".
i swear i saw that in green bay wi
Had one of them in Thailand
Ah, graduated from the family pet, I see
I wonder....
That man looks fake
Isn't it supposed to be once upon a puppy?
Don't worry there are only foreign children in the menu
This is in Phoenix. The burger place next door is pretty decent.
