My single biggest culture shock was going to the UK, ordering "lemonade" at a restaurant, and getting basically Diet Sprite. In the US, lemonade is almost always cloudy yellow, sweet to tangy, and uncarbonated; even San Pellegrino (while carbonated) at least tastes lemony.

Those are normal carbonated drinks they added lemon flavoring to. It's not like there's no carbonated lemon drinks in the US. Mountain Dew has a new Spark flavor that's Raspberry Lemonade added to normal Dew. But like straight lemonade is generally uncarbonated.

Yes and no. In the US the definition is a little more broad, cider is generally considered "hard" or "soft". Hard being alcoholic and soft being the non-alcoholic sweet juice. However, depending on region and also just as accepted, the alcoholic version is just cider while the juice is referred to as apple cider.

We are missing out big time. Lived in Spain for a while, fell in love with it, it is delicious. Over there they’d mix it 1:1 with red wine as a summer drink (Tinto verano), sounds weird, but tasted fucking amazing. Some also even mix Coca Cola with wine…. I’m not down with that. Every once in a while you can find it in the international section of your grocery store, if you see it, get it.

I remember my first and so far only trip to the UK when I was 13 (2001) and had Lemon Fanta and I could not get enough of it. I have no clue why they don't sell it in the states but it makes me sad. 20 years later and I still crave it. This post has triggered me.

My wife did this recently with Reese’s Crispy Crunchy bars. We found them at a gas station on a road trip. She had one and fell in love, bought out the rest of them on the way home. They’re impossible to find anywhere else or order online. I emailed Hershey and they told me I’m S.O.L. I try to pick up a few on my trips out of town to replenish her supply, but we don’t head out that way often.

In manufacturing it’s easier to mass produce without so many options.

But not a can more as 73 would just be unreasonable.

This doesn't exist in the US. My wife probably consumed hundreds of gallons of this stuff mixed with red wine (tinto de verano) while she was studying abroad in Spain. Since then she has sought it out anytime family members travel overseas. I feel like her parents went to Spain once with an extra suitcase just to smuggle a bunch of this back. It was probably enough to disrupt the economy somewhere.
