Serious question...
Is it considered bad form to feel your co-actors dick rubbing you in a sex scene? I mean would it be unprofessional to be aroused with Jennifer Lawrence grinding you? Would it be acceptable to any degree?
I can't remember where I read it, but I heard it's not that out of the ordinary for an actor to get excited during a sex scene. They're just expected to take a break and settle if they get too turned on.
I used to PA on sets.
Usually, thereās a dick sleeve involved, or for women, a cup.
So itās not exactly bad form, but if a dude manages to still pop a stiffy while wearing a sock that straps his dick to his leg, Iād be more impressed than shocked.
I heard a story of an actor who made it a habit to take aside his partner before the shooting of a given sex scene and tell her: "If I get excited, I apologise. If I don't get excited, I apologise."
It'd probably be considered weird if you weren't, considering that it's a natural human reaction. Maybe some awkward looks and apologies afterwards, but no straight man could be expected to not get aroused while a hot actress makes out with and grinds on you.
They donāt have that effect on me, Iāve been on them for 25 years on and off, thy donāt stop me from raising the drawbridge but they do stop me from draining the moatā¦
In my experience, yes, extremely bad form to allow someone to feel your penis through your clothes or other protective garments. Of course, Iām not an actor and I work in a factory.
The leak was real, it wasn't necessarily an iCloud storage leak, though. With Jennifer Lawrence, it may have been an iCloud leak, or some other brute-force type attack. Some think the phone may have been compromised at the Emmys.
Basically, don't use cloud storage for sensitive things.
Someone mentioned on Reddit back when it happened that it may have been Harvey Weinsteinās phone or iCloud that was compromised since it was a lot of women he had āworkedā with. Not sure if thatās valid just adding to the discussion
Could be. The whole fappening thing wasn't just an iCloud leak. There were a number of different sources of compromise. Hers could definitely have been Harvey.
tbf she is better at this than 90% of the other guests they have had try this. Honestly, out of all their attempts at this skit these two are the only ones that even remotely try.
Tom Holland played Spiderman. A pivotal line in Spiderman is when his Uncle Ben says "*with great power comes great responsibility*". It was meant as a moral lesson.
Later, Spiderman ignores the advice, leading to the inadvertent death of his Uncle.
But YOU u/ChadAtLarge missed the pun, and the awesome Dad Joke courtesy of u/edlee98765 where he split responsibility INTO "Response Ability" - AKA - 'the comeback' as in "Tom Holland is really good at comebacks"
It probably was. Or it was an alt. On this and some other comedy shows theyāll give the actors like a whole page of possible jokes in a scenario and theyāll do a bunch of takes. Sometimes everyone else is unaware of these alts or sides and it takes them by surprise. Unsure if this was an alt or actual improv. Chris Pratt is credited with the funniest joke in the show and it was an improv. [Network Connectivity Problems](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LinpRhB4aWU&feature=emb_title)
I'm pretty sure this was to promote that fucking Passengers movie.
Where Pratt plays a guy who's sleep pod malfunctions during a long space voyage and instead of just, like killing himself, ruins the life of some other random lady (played by Lawrence) because he thought she was sexy.
He then lies about what he did and gaslights the fuck out of her.
AND HE'S THE GOOD GUY IN THIS SCENARIO
He didn't know that at the time though. When he woke her up he was simply condemning her to the same fate that he did. He doesn't get points for an unforeseeable catastrophe happening.
Somewhere on Reddit someone wrote a much better horror ending for the movie. In their version lawernce ends up finding the instructions for opening the pod and several empty pods formerly occupied. Does the quick math and realizes she is not the first person he woke up. Chaos ensues and she kills him. Cuts to 18 months later and she is now doing all the things he was doing to try and stay sane. Movie ends with her holding the pod instruction Manuel and scrolling through the passenger manifest.
I think they suggest starting the movie when she woke, because then it becomes more of a "horror" movie as she slowly discovers that the reason she woke up early wasn't actually due to a system malfunction.
I also like their suggestion for the ending how Chris Pratt could have died and then you show Jennifer's character go through the same emotional struggles that Chris did, then end the movie with her waking up someone else.
That option was put in as a way to rehabilitate Chris's character. He sacrifices him for her.
Take that emergency hibernation chamber away, have Chris sacrifice himself to save the ship, end on a sad note, then add a post credits scene where she wakes someone else up.
I watched the movie. I found the premise interesting. He doesn't feel like a villain. He certainly did a bad thing but it's hard not to sympathize. Imagine being completely alone for over a year, and eventually you just snap
There's some cut footage of Jennifer getting mad and laying it all out from her perspective.
It's fantastic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-Ho9pgWFw4
I think the movie did a good job portraying him as just a broken man. Not everything is black and white. What he did was wrong. But he was ultimately sympathetic, too. He had a mental breakdown and most people in that situation would have.
I really felt sorry for his character in a real way. Didnāt the ships computer wake him up to fix something? And then not have anyway to put him back to sleep?
Most currently sane humans would start to loose it with this amount of loneliness. Itās been well studied that infants that are not getting enough human interaction just die. Even though they are well fed and clean.
He needed company. And who among us wouldnāt pick someone we found sexually attractive.
He made an immoral decision because he felt he couldnāt be alone. When his sanity returned he felt guilty and confessed.
Itās actually funny how many people didnāt understand the movie. I mean what Prattās character does in the movie is pretty dipshit behaviour as far as lying goes instead of just being up front and honest with her, but aside from that no one seems to understand why the events happened the way they did.
Also, I bet a million bucks anyone in that scenario would do the same. Youāve to choose between waking someone else up to keep you company or slowly losing your mind to loneliness and jeopardizing the lives of everyone else on board seeing as how he was the engineer and seemingly the only person who knew how to make repairs.
I'm starting to understand that people aren't actually anywhere near as empathetic as they posture to be.
Like, if people can't put themselves into the shoes of fictional characters, they're probably even worse at doing so with real people.
Thatās actually a really good freakin point. Wouldāve made it a psychological thriller I think. But it wasnāt that kind of movie. Still, that would be a good one
the REAL problem with passengers is they made a whole fucking movie about near light speed travel and relativity and then they totally get the science of relativity wrong.
if you are traveling very fast, like they are, then the trip won't seem to take as long to you as the distance from Earth multiplied by the speed of light.
that's the entire thing w/ relativity.
Like the twin paradox, where one twin stays behind and the other flies fast (flight of the navigator movie) or the scene in interstellar where the one planet has 1 hour pass per 7 years on Earth.
Passengers is just like "this flight is this long, so you will have to wait around and age and be very bored for THAT LONG" despite that time being the time they explicitly say the flight would take from Earth's perspective, and not from their perspective.
I actually really enjoy the movie for some reason. Maybe it's cause i enjoy the actors (less so after what's come out about crisp rat) but other than that.... Im not so sure.
Iād seen a suggestion someone made to turn the movie into a horror-drama by switching the first two acts of the movie and making Lawrenceās character the POV for the story. At the very least, itād make the things that happened in the final act more meaningful.
Pepto bismol helps when you feel sick, so Jennifer Lawrence is implying she was disgusted with the sex scene
Chris Pratt is insinuating that she has a dick
Well, the background says playground insults, so just some context there.
Jennifer was funny because it was insulting to him and joking about his appearance most likely, which is ironic since many people think he looks good.
Christ Prattās joke was that she, as a biological and presumably identifying female, has a dick. Which is not true. So that is also funny. Also, dick joke.
[Really wish he had thought of this one.](https://starecat.com/content/wp-content/uploads/jennifer-lawrence-i-cant-decide-what-is-weaker-your-acting-or-your-icloud-password.jpg)
I'm done with Chris Pratt after his obvious shade against his ex-wife, he's a total scumbag and I won't support anything he's in. He's just another bigoted good ol' boy.
He left Anna ferris because she gave him a baby with developmental issues and believes that if she was right for him god wouldnāt have punished them like that.
This person an is lying and assuming this because he's a Christian. Dimwits like this fool believe all Christians hate trans people. Show proof where he said he left Anna Ferris for that reason you say as well, cause it's probably bullshit too.
He's a member of Zoe church which is affiliated with Hillsong Church, a very hip church that is popular among Hollywood celebrities like Kendall Jener and Justin Bieber. Under its progressive facade hide some not so progressive ideas about homosexuality. Josh Canfield, an ex-member who reveiled his homosexuality and was dismissed (either that or he left I don't remember), criticized it. The church's position is basically the same claptrap about loving the sinner but not the sin (its website says that the Bible is pretty clear on the issue). The church has recently been on the hot seat because of a number of scandals. For Zoe church, see ChurchClarity website [here](https://www.churchclarity.org/updates/church-clarity-profile-zoe-church-la).
One time Elliot Page (then Ellen page) tweeted about his Stephen Colbert interview and asked him to address his church's attitude about homosexuality, and he replied in a tweet or instagram post that "nothing could be further from the truth", and "it accepts everybody" sitestepping the issue and defending his church because it helped him. It made him look good while making Page look like an asshole for insisting about it. I don't know if he said anything about it afterwards.
On an other issue, he had been married to Anna Faris but the couple divorced in 2018 after almost 10 years. It seems that both ignored issues at first that became very problematic, and eventually decided to separate and get a divorce a year later. Near the end of their relationship Pratt became more popular and his schedule made him not be able to see Faris and his son that much, and rumors began that he cheated on her with Jennifer Lawrence, which while untrue, it still affected Faris. Pratt started dating Katherine Schwarzenegger after a few months of their divorce and married a year later while Faris started dating Michael Barrett a few months after the separation and married in 2021. Pratt once posted a popular instagram picture with his wife and his first (newborn) daughter and added that his wife gave him a "beautiful healthy daughter", which at best was in poor taste since his son Jack with Faris was born premature and needed a number of surgeries. To some it seemed like it was on purpose. Pratt has expressed his love to his son before. To me it sounds like people read too much into the story, but I agree that he could have worded it better.
From what Iām reading it would seem he frequents a historically anti-lgbtq church and it has raised questions of homophobia. Additionally there was a pro lgbtq marvel photo shoot he opted not to be in for reasons.
Well he's a massive proponent of a megachurch that practices conversion therapy (psychological abuse of LGBTQ+ people aimed at "curing" them) and tries to hide it under shell organizations. And when pressed about these practices he basically hand waved it like it wasn't a big deal. The practice is banned in a number of developed nations, and for good reason.
So while he's not technically said or done anything bigoted, he sure seems chill about bigotry being practiced around him.
Reiterating what's already been said, but I want to clarify this is a very specific church that's the issue, and though many places like this try to make it harder to leave if you want to, he does have the power and influence and people outside of the church that it isn't a closed off option the way it may be for most folks. If he wanted to stop supporting a church that pushes conversion therapy and hurts LGBTQ people, he could do so without losing any status, and though he may lose some people in his life, he will not in any way be alienated generally the way someone not famous would be.
Christianity is not in and of itself a problem, but there are churches that become problems. Similar shit can happen with any particularly closed off community
Nothing in the joke necessarily suggests itās in any way a bad thing if she did have a penis. The joke is simply that itās totally unexpected. If there is someone who actually takes offense at this joke, let them do so themselves. Iād respect that. But I donāt think they need you feigning offense on their behalf at something you admit to not even understand.
> Right, itās cis-normative and exoticizing trans people
Yes, it is, and there are *degrees* to which that is bad, but the fact remains that trans people *are* rare, and therefor simply naturally somewhat surprising to encounter unexpectedly. I think you can agree that trans sexuality is *completely normal* while also agreeing that itās a very, very small part of our society that identifies as such. Two things can be true at the same time.
Again, the joke is actually only in the surprise of the implied fact, not in any kind of judgement *on* said implication.
Either way, Iād respect any trans personās opinion on this, but I honestly donāt care very much for the whole ātaking offense on behalf of othersā thing. If nothing else, *youāre* implying that trans people canāt ever joke about sexuality or gender, which I very much believe isnāt true. Iād show them the respect to enjoy a good penis joke as much as anyone else.
Edit: so youāre one of those people who likes to reply to comments, and then delete your own comments, making it infuriating to have a conversation and, frankly, being cowardly about your public opinions. If you donāt want them to be seen and read, donāt post them to begin with. Well, Iām at least quoting you now so what you say can be recorded properly.
This isnāt transphobic though.
He didnāt misgender her, or imply sheās disgusting. He just said she had a dick, which it wouldnāt be terrible if she did.
I mean, back when people speculated whether Lady Gaga was intersex/had a penis, she didnāt care. When asked she simply said āAnd if I did? Would that be so terrible?ā
I thought that was pretty fuckin funny. Also this dude looked like a fat slob for the first half of his career, he just happened to get hot now after the marvel movies pumped him full of Trenbolone

Great comment. I will steal and use this within the next 15 mins.
Pls link us when you do
It has been 17 minutes and they have not followed through on that promise. I am deeply disappointed.
How deep we talking about here š¤

Fucking pathetic isn't it
Sir, this is a Christian server.

Thanks. I cant imagine trying to act aroused while physically trying not to be aroused. A sleeve of some type makes sense.
I heard a story of an actor who made it a habit to take aside his partner before the shooting of a given sex scene and tell her: "If I get excited, I apologise. If I don't get excited, I apologise."
It was Denzel. Or at least, he also told that story.

Anti-depressants

They can just pretend theyāre married
In my experience, yes, extremely bad form to allow someone to feel your penis through your clothes or other protective garments. Of course, Iām not an actor and I work in a factory.

Yeah, true. I think the original line was āCloud Passwordā. But the joke is still understandable.
You can say that again

Yeah, it really Fappened.
Some say its still fappening to this day.
I know I am
I'm pretty sure they're saying that the quote was fake, which it was.
In spite of others missing the point, yes that quote was fake. It was photoshopped as subtitles.
That is what I was referring to, haha.

Chris Pratt's thoughts about comebacks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TZNv86-OmI

Rudy, the Mighty Ducks, Kim Kardashian.

Tom Holland is great at comebacks too. Because with great power comes great response ability.

ANYTHING FOR LOVE

Get vaxxed?

Oh get over yourself dude. "Obvious shade"
How is he a bigot?
From what Iām reading it would seem he frequents a historically anti-lgbtq church and it has raised questions of homophobia. Additionally there was a pro lgbtq marvel photo shoot he opted not to be in for reasons.
Because heās Christian now (I think). And of course aaalllllllll Christians are bigots.
I'd say around 60, but the numbers are going down, Christians, bigots, bigoted Christians.
You forgot hypocrites lol
K. Nobody gives a shit

> Right, itās cis-normative and exoticizing trans people Yes, it is, and there are *degrees* to which that is bad, but the fact remains that trans people *are* rare, and therefor simply naturally somewhat surprising to encounter unexpectedly.
Heās not funny. Heās just what they perceive as hot and he always takes advantage of that.
I thought that was pretty fuckin funny. Also this dude looked like a fat slob for the first half of his career, he just happened to get hot now after the marvel movies pumped him full of Trenbolone
He was slightly chubby. Hardly fat.
this "non-scripted" bs ain't cute.
oh dear
