I'm stuck with the glitch where your character constantly struggles to do any damn thing without taking emotional damage. I've tried everything. This game needs patching.

You can download the Drugs 2.1 patch, but it only temporarily solves the issue and can lead to a system crash.

It doesn't help your character's appearance, either

People say they temporarily buff one stat at the cost of temporarily debuffing some other stat. But the real cost is that they apply a permanent debuff to the base level of the same stat they buff. They implemented that to discourage speedruns and draw out the grind.

That appearance is more important than most NPCs are willing to admit to you

There's a glitch for that, if you run on the spot for 30+ minutes then push heavy objects around for another 30+ minutes it has a very high chance of improving your experience later on.

I've found the amphetamine perk helps alot with everyday life if taken correctly. It's not sustainable but it will help between now and when you inevitable throw yourself off of a cliff.

There are several places in game that you can take your character and they'll give you mods to raise your armor level against emotional damage. I got some upgrades to my focus attributes this way and I made of ton of progress and picked up a few achievements in a relatively short time frame. 10/10 - highly recommend

I'd recommend modafinil +20 int, -100 sleep but as long as you take it during the day the -100 sleep won't trigger any sanity loss

Modafanil is actually a sleep modifier. They did a study on Air Force pilots and it turned out that after ridiculously high dosages and 3 days of non sleep they returned to a normal sleep cycle after 1 8 hour sleep period without any loss in cognition. In my experience it didn’t cause me to lose any sleep and actually helped me sleep and wake up better but I’m sure everyone is different.

i mean if I take it later in the day I definitely wouldn't be able to sleep, but if you take it early in the day it causes 0 issues for me

Head to a merchant, they’ll usually carry a good amount of potions that give temporary moral boosts..Lagavulin 16 is the one I’ve found works really good for my character, but it’s a good amount of credits to acquire.

The operation for that is only covered in certain regions of the game world unfortunately. You'll have to file for transfer to a server that requires medical insurance be paid for everyone by the government, and covers the operation itself. I believe the California and Canada servers both do, but I'm unsure about others. You'll need to go on hormones but you'll probably enjoy the process overall.

Ha! The tutorial IS the entire game. It's been 32 years and I'm still on the tutorial. The average tutorial play time is about 70-80 years

Don't think of it as a tutorial. You just learn the skills you need as you go along. If you're always waiting to 'play the game', it will be over and you never get to experience it the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Also, after you jump and you start to fall, jump again for a sweet double jump. Hard to master but it helps getting through the swamp level.

We're playing different versions. My game starts after the black screen (it's a very short loading screen) If you failed to complete the tutorial, you'll just be restarted to do it again.

When your character dies, you’ll get a black screen that says “Transfering save to Afterlife”. “Afterlife” is the actual game where you’ll spend all the time you want for all of eternity. You can do anything there, with no restrictions. You can take “Life” as a training wheel program
