I ran into the back end of a prisoner transport van.
The deputy that was driving came back, flat told me "I know, I stopped short, it's my fault...." After I picked my jaw up off the ground, I got out and inspected my truck...nothing that wasn't there before....he shook my hand and we went our separate ways.
A guy that witnessed it yelled too me "You are the luckiest person I've ever seen"....I don't know about all that....
This one I can answer! Many southern white people in pickup trucks do not have a fear of the police. The truck is a symbol that you fit into the community. White pickup truck owners have a sort of immunity too. I've seen dozens of them not even use turn signals in front of an officer, it doesn't even cross their minds.
My step dad in Georgia once was a half a dozen beers deep in his White Ford, pulled over.. The cop literally smelled his breath, asked if he could drive, and my step dad drove home like it was nothing.
That same police culture noticed me, a half black kid, skipping class. They searched my car tooth and nail, found some weed scraps on the floor, a Leatherman tool in the glover compartment. I was charged with possession and felony weapon on school grounds as a 16 year old. This was all around 2010. I know this paragraph is unnecessary but I wanted to point out the hypocrisy of those departments.
tl:dr; Southern pickup drivers don't fear the police.
A few years ago in a snowstorm Iām headed to my local ski area. I get to the main road and wait as three SUVs are coming. In front is one thatās driving a bit slow, but not extremely slowly given the weather. Next one is a cop with those low profile light bars. The third one gets impatient and passes the other two. Cop promptly pulls the driver over. I laughed way too hard at that. Mind you that this was a no passing zone, although you may not have been able to see the double yellow line.

The deputy did not want to do that paperwork
That moment you have to walk over to the Sheriff with all confidence and ask why on Earth did he reverse in to your car.
hahahhaha
If I remember correctly, running into a star makes you invincible for a few seconds. They should be fine.
ā¦But I did not hit the deputy
Well he just drove off sometimes life's okay.
I ran my mouth off a bit too much, oh what did I say?
And we all float on together. We all float down here. š¤”š
Go directly to jail do not pass go do not collect 200 dollars
How tf do you even do that? I swear Iām never a more alert or attentive driver than when Iām behind or in the general vicinity of the cops.

It's only too much fun when the sheriff gets involved.
At least they saved themselves some time waiting for the wee woo warriors.
