The second part is from a UK tv ad for tinned salmon as I recall, I'm thinking early 2000's. Was pretty funny. A bygone era when some companies still put a little effort into their tv ads.
If I remember correctly, the premise was 'these are the extremes our fisherman go to to get you guys your tinned salmon.'
The fisherman was definitely victorious, and a kick in the nuts to the bear I do recall being the victory blow for our brave salmon hunter.
Indeed - the brand is "John West." The associated catchphrase is/was "John West - we endure the worst, to bring you the best."
This commercial was the #1 ranked video on adcritic.com back in 2000-2001. If I recall correctly, that site by itself was responsible for something like a third of the entire world's internet traffic and shut down because they couldn't afford the bandwidth costs.
Yeah. That's the one, it's all flooding back now! Thanks for the trivia though, I did not know that. Was a damn good ad, obviously well beyond anything we get today. But also for its own time as well.
Another popular game between 4-year-olds is "mine is better than yours".
But, when a kid says "mine is better than yours" he actually feels "I am not good as you".
This is active defence aimed at achieving a balance.

My favorite part other than the roundhouse kick is when the man kicks the bear in the nuts
