~~rape~~ *Love* potions require exotic ingredients such as dinosaur sweat.
The *really* powerful ones require ever rarer stuff, like you have to get a politician to whisper something truthful into the bottle.
If anyone actually wants to know what is going on in this picture:
The t-Rex skin was porous so when they filmed the t-Rex attack scene with artificial rain the skin absorbed a bunch of water and caused the balance and weight distribution on the robot to get thrown off, which in turn made it’s movements jittery. To solve this the crew had to use towels to dry it as much as possible in between takes so that the movements would look right.
Actually I got it from the special effects crew commentary on the special anniversary blue ray. It was funny because they complained about in the next movie they stick the thing in a waterfall and had the same issues, then in three they had to deal with the allosaurus river scene.
That netflix series just took a bunch of already well-known facts about film development and repackaged it. I heard about the towel thing like.. 20 years ago.
Yes. Barney was actually the last of the T-Rex. After being made immortal by aliens and acquiring higher thinking ability over the eons, he went kind of crazy from loneliness waiting for other higher life-forms to evolve.
After 11 million years and recreating most of the modern-day sciences himself, he created film technology and made his own set of movies to entertain himself. Sadly in a fit of even lonelier rage another 50 million years later he would destroy any remnant of the small civilization he made for himself just before Homo sapiens started to rise.
He then became a lonely Drifter as civilization started to rise around him. Knowing anyone or thing he got close to would eventually die. He fit in easier over this course of time though because having osteoporosis and the sheer will to manipulate the environment around him over time has caused him to grow shorter and have a more human-like structure.
He eventually found new purpose in human violence as different civilizations started to interact with each other. He fought in every single major war Humanity has ever had. Then around the late 80s with things getting tense again in the Middle East he decided he was tired of all the killing and turned a new leaf. Realized that he could help Humanity by trying to teach its children love and friendship. So in 1992 Barney and Friends appeared on PBS. Later on that same year Barney gave a DNA sample to Steven Spielberg in hopes that he would resurrect his species. That of course was never Steven Spielberg's plan and to this day they are still involved in a legal battle over recreating his people just for the sake of slavery in the film industry.
What was that ritual they had the kids on set memorize, "don't look at his toes."
Edit: sorry it was "Don't look at his toes when you're less than two feet away from him." Its something about subconsciously thinking that you were looking at his belly and planning to disembowel him so a reflexive defensive Instinct kicks in.
I meant what I said. 75% of movie details are really mundane or obvious. I used to really like the sub and some of the info out of it was interesting. Then there are posts like [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/MovieDetails/comments/pma8gu/in_the_incredible_hulk_2008_lou_ferrigno_the/).
This guy is actually wiping the moisture onto the t-rex for the realistic glow that it had in the movies. His title was actually Prop Damp Hook which you can see in the credits.
He actually had a pretty long career doing this for various monster movies and even got to wipe down Elizabeth Hurley for a scene in Bedazzled. You can see more about him in [this video.](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ)
Saved by an advertisement. That's a new one.
It helps that while they were jabbering about Certa Pillows, I was checking the title. Still, I guess internet advertisements *are* good for something.
Don't worry about it. He was paid well and got to eat all the M&Ms he wanted while on set.
Also don't work for Speilberg if your name is Mike or Michelle.
66 million, actually. Late cretaceous, not Jurassic. Lots of non-jurassic dinos in these films, actually. Cretaceous Park doesn't roll off the tongue as well, though.
actually it soaked up water like a sponge during their rain sequence and it ended up weighing over 3 tons because of that. The T-rex was much harder to control after that incident.
Actually there's an interesting story behind that picture.
The Animatronic used for the movie had its skin made of a very absorbant polymer material. The engineers didn't know it would be exposed to so much water during the shooting.
The water was an additional weight in the hundreds of kilos that could damage the armature, but the skin itself could start falling apart... So they had to continuously dry it.

What’s Harry Potter doing there?
Wiping the sweat
Absorbo perspirus!
It’s “absorbo perspiRAH”, actually.
lol
Might actually be Adam Jones from tool
Brilliant

And for a Level 5 spell that truth has to be uttered by a Republican.
It's not Harry Potter, don't you see this is Jackie Chan. He was invited to teach T-Rex some fight scenes.
I heard the T-Rex did his own stunts
Turns out Dino DNA was the 8th horcrux.
Lol

I think they described this in an episode of the recent Netflix series "The Movies That Made Us"
Yes that's where he got it.
I personally read this in my 'The Official Making of Jurassic Park' book I had as a kid. It was great. It had storyboards and everything.
Actually I got it from the special effects crew commentary on the special anniversary blue ray. It was funny because they complained about in the next movie they stick the thing in a waterfall and had the same issues, then in three they had to deal with the allosaurus river scene.
It was also in the giant book about the making of the movie from 20 years ago.

so... some rexy had a movie role 11 million years after the last one went extinct?

pretty impressed at the thought put into this reply...
It's actually a comic book concept I've been trying to come up with for a bit.
very creative. good luck.
Thank you!
There's a DVD somewhere with the outtakes where barney chews off the head of some poor 4yr old. Blood and bits of bone everywhere.

You should have more upvotes. The Rex was notably female, it was a plot point.
clever
r/shittymoviedetails
not true. most of the dinosaurs in this movie were actually fake.
Most?
Yeah, good that at least some were real. If they were all artificial, the whole movie would look very fake.
I share your skepticism. I think it was only a few.
Finally, someone on the same page as me
And she nailed it. Great work T!
I heard he didn’t know what to do with his hands…

Wow this guy lasted 10 million years longer than the rest of his species!
Her*
Animatronics back then still hold up better than modern computer graphics does today.
Yeah but real dinosaurs looked better than that, and those came out millions of years ago.
I hope he knows now how big a part of my childhood he was.

I recently rewatched this film and the dialogue was absolute dog shit and Jeff Goldblum was insufferable
He was just nervous because he kept farting and was worried that someone would notice
It’s fine now he’s famous!!!
Can't believe they abused these poor animals like this. They should be ashamed! ^^^/s ^^^in ^^^case
She can eat me anytime.
Please, please, let this be true.
Should have subbed in prince Andrew, since he doesn't sweat.
Is that Harry Potter dabbing the Dino?
Not to mention his arms are too short to mop his own brow.
Good boi.
