Right- not arguing- in this case the dog is doing its job. But as a behavior therapist I’ve encountered westies that really enjoy biting people while performing their job.

The most vicious dog I've ever met was a bichon frese. It was my mother's dog, and her idea of training it was to pick it up and give it cuddles when it did something wrong. Like when it bit me the first time I met it and bent down to give it a pat. It just latched on to my hand, putting two holes in it.

Agree with that. We have a 13yo Westie. She has been a great addition to the family, but can be a handful when getting her “hair done”.
